The 22 Best Seattle Cafes To Work In - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Victrola has a centralized location, a constant buzz of other working humans, and a communal table with enough room for you, your laptop, and a massive mug of liquid life. And in the summer, they have air conditioning—a must for when a heat wave strikes and you require your iced vanilla latte to not melt into a puddle of sadness." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Stopped here late on a Sunday morning in the spring, and I’m really glad I did. Excellent espresso drinks. My cortado was expertly made, with a perfectly pulled shot and just the right amount of milk. Nice laid back atmosphere, and lots of available seats. Very friendly staff. If the line at the big chain place down the block is too long, or if you’re actually after a really good espresso, definitely come here.

Google
Our first coffee shop in Seattle(!), and it's wonderful. It's a great place to do some work or get a quick coffee. I ordered a small black house coffee, and it was pretty good. My mom ordered a small decaf Americano with half and half--she said it smelled nice, but she couldn't taste a lot of coffee flavor. Both my mom and I were not expecting the price to be so much for two small coffees, but I guess this is normal for Seattle(?). Anyway, we had a wonderful time, and it's a nice start to my coffee review session in Seattle 🫶🏼

Google
Best specialty cup I had in Seattle this time around! Barista suggested it. It's called a Berry Proud Latte. Iced. Instead of getting the Oat Milk, he made it with breve as well as making the blueberry coconut cold foam with half and half. And of course some Fruity Pebbles on top. It was really good!!!

Ed Grochowiak

Google
The cold brew did not disappoint. I really liked the vibe of this place as you can sit down and get work done if necessary. I took in the vibes and the setting over a quick coffee and was very pleased with how clean the property was and how nice the staff is. I will definitely be back soon.

Google
Amazing place. Latte was PERFECT- staff and barista knowledgeable, skilled, super nice. Thank you Saydayce!!

Google
One of the most reputed coffee roasters in the Seattle area. Walked into this location to buy some coffee beans for Espresso and the staff helped me promptly. During payment, they told me that Victrola offers a complimentary drip coffee or Americano upon purchasing coffee bags. I chose their Americano and it tasted great. The interior seating and aesthetics are quite good. No outdoor seating and it makes sense given the atmosphere around this location (streets) is not the best.

Google
First time here and it was delicious coffee. Barista explained a few of the bean offerings they had for the house coffee, espresso and cold brew. Ended up getting a Peru single origin americano and it was light and fruity. Definitely worth checking out.

Google
Good place to have a nice cup of coffee and get some work done. The vibe of the place is nice and would recommend to visit and hang out.

Yelp
Vibrant coffee shop on Capitol Hill. Grabbed some coffee with some gal pals after breakfast. Good mix of tables ranging from single use to large groups. Lots of folks with and without laptops. Everyone's pretty respectful and mindful about not overstaying their welcome as it does get pretty busy. Victrola is on par with high quality coffee. I imagine they take overflow from Starbucks Reserve too. You can take a Capitol Hill bus route or walk up from Westlake Station.

Yelp
This is a solid, consistent coffee shop right next to the Starbucks Reserve in Capitol Hill! I actually prefer this spot over Starbucks because the lines at Starbucks can get way too long, and it's often a long wait for drinks. I usually go for the vanilla latte, which is always a reliable pick-me-up! I recently tried their seasonal gingerbread cold brew, but it was surprisingly sour, so I wouldn't recommend it. Their pastries are pretty standard. I haven't tried their seasonal strawberry matcha latte yet, but it's definitely on my list! This cafe is also a great place to work, with plenty of seating and large windows that let in tons of natural light, especially during the summer months.

Yelp
Love the vibe here. Any introverts' dream. Coffee is delicious. Service is superb. Lots of cozy seating areas with access to outlets. It hits all the boxes for me for a perfect coffee shop. My only gripe is that parking can be hit or miss. This can be a plus though because scarcity of parking usually means a place doesn't get too crowded or too crowded for long. This is the kind of shop I think of when I need a cozy, chill day to mind my own business, but don't wanna be at home. Lol.

Yelp
I've been to Victrola twice now in the past few months and have had pleasant experiences both times. Their hot chocolate is good and the ambiance is great! There is lots of seating and the wifi connection works well. So if you're looking for a place to chat with friends or get some work done, then I would definitely recommend Victrola.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop so much Lattes are with lots of foams It's soft and delicious The baristas are very friendly Costumer service is really good Can't recommend this place enough

Yelp
Good quality, good quantity, good value. Came here upon a recommendation by a tour guide. Decor and ambience of the shop was very quaint and mellow. It was decorated with darker shades and the lighting wasn't overly bright. On top of all of that the shop is very spacious with plenty of seating making for a very comfortable space for studying or relaxing. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk in a medium size. It was true to the name and the latte had a stern kick of spice. I ended up having to ask the barista for an adjustment which she recommended adding more steamed oat milk. It helped mellow the drink out more but the aroma of the spice was still present. My girlfriend ordered a lavender latte with oat milk in a small size. The drink was more resemblance of a traditional latte with the aroma of lavender. There were no overly strong tastes or aromas which made for an easy and pleasant drinking experience.

Yelp
First time trying Victrola and wowow the coffee brew taste here is cleeeaaan. Particularly a big fan of the cold brew; very fruity beans were used for it so this cold brew was super duper refreshing! The mocha was pretty good; wished the coffee taste was more prominent in it but overall the drink was smooth and not overly chocolate-rich. Chill vibes at this spot with barista attitude to match.

Yelp
Victrola Coffee Roasters is a great coffee shop in Seattle. They seem very serious about coffee here. I am not a coffee drinker, but my wife is and she really enjoyed it. I had a chai latte, a sausage cheddar pastry, and a twice-baked croissant with almond in the middle and pistachio glaze on top. The chai latte was excellent, great flavor. I do not think they make the sausage pastry there, but it was very good. Then the croissant was original and really tasted. Baking it twice seems to harden the croissant which I was not so sure about, but the flavors were exceptional. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Delicious spot for a cup of coffee . Before train ride to the airport . I had there seasonal Guatemalan roast and blueberry scone

Yelp
We stopped by Victrola coffee in Cap Hill, really loved the vibe inside. Felt like a cozy local coffee shop with lots of open space and comfortable seating. The coffee was pretty good. I would say better than most of the coffee shops in the area. The barista was knowledgeable and told use the beans that are available that day and their roast levels and flavor profiles. Overall really enjoyed the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Decent coffee, maybe a lighter iced latte than I was expecting and very average breakfast burritos. A bit underwhelming on the breakfast burrito. Coffee was good, just average though. Not anything far too memorable for what I was expecting. Not bad if you're in the area though.

Yelp
First time here and it was delicious coffee. Right by the Starbucks reserve. Barista explained a few of the bean offerings they had for the house coffee, espresso and cold brew. Ended up getting a Peru single origin americano and it was light and fruity. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
High open ceiling, several large tables along with small ones. Did see some outlets for charging. Syrups are made in house and they have seasonal drinks! Went with hot vanilla latte(8oz) and iced chai latte (16oz). The person at the register was helpful in giving drink recommendations and I went with the popular one. You can't go wrong with vanilla or lavender flavor. Not a fan or orange creamsicle which was the summer seasonal drink, for fall I believe they will have pumpkin spice. Drinks came out pretty fast; it wasn't super busy during the time we went, 11am on a Tuesday. Drinks were both smooth. The vanilla latte wasn't too sweet or weird after taste which I Iove and the chai had a really spice kick to it.

Yelp
Nice place to relax, grab a coffee or a bakery item and chat with friends. It is close to the Starbucks Reserve but not as hectic. The coffee is good and the croissant was super flaky. The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy themselves.

Yelp
Americano is so light, it's pretty much water I got another one at the Starbucks next door
google avatar

Ming L.

Yelp
For me, the milk consistency is the lifeblood of a good latte. Yes, people obsess over the beans, the origin, the roast level, etc, but the velvety silky smooth milk foam in a latte is what I love. And no place does it like Victrola. I have my own Breville at home and to compare my latte with a latte from Victrola...that's like saying my scrambled eggs are like Gordon Ramsey's. As the young folks would say, I'd be capping. Go try their latte!

Yelp
If you're in search for a nice, laid back environment to work, catch up with friends, or just have a moment to yourself over some solid coffee - this is the place. The shop itself had a large, clean, spacious feeling to it so it was easier to feel comfortable, even on a crowded Saturday afternoon. The baristas were amazing, definitely enjoyed their work and made some delicious americanos. The espresso was delightfully on the brighter side and kept me coming back for more sips.

Yelp
Victrola is easily one of my go-to coffee spots in Seattle and the Cap Hill area! If you're looking for a "sit on my laptop with a great cup of coffee" kinda cafe, Victrola is the place to be. I would describe Victrola's coffee offerings as no-frills and solid. In my experience, Victrola isn't the place to find the most extraordinary syrup flavors and combinations. I'm an oat milk latte kinda guy and Victrola's lattes have always been great. They roast and sell their beans too if you want to take their coffee goodness home! Walk into Victrola and you'll be greeted by a warm and cozy ambiance with lots of wood tones. You'll also be surrounded by plants and art from local artists. There is PLENTY of seating and free wi-fi, which is perfect if you're looking for a place to do some work. The service at Victrola is always great too. The baristas are always ready and willing to help out and give advice, especially if you're feeling indecisive on what to order. Unless you live nearby or take public transit, parking might be tricky, which is the norm for the area. There's no dedicated parking for Victrola, so you'll have to go on the parking spot hunt like the rest of us. Looking for a nice spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee? Look no further than Victrola Coffee Roasters!
google avatar

Gladys N.

Yelp
Ran into this coffee shop since the Starbucks reserve was extremely full and line was long. I enjoyed a vanilla iced latte and a grilled cheese sandwich. Barista was very sweet and helpful, everyone inside is either working or enjoying a nice hot coffee on a cold Seattle morning. It's nice warm and quiet inside, I enjoyed my small little break. Coffees range from 4$ and up.
google avatar

Annabella V.

Yelp
Although we only stopped in for a quick coffee to go, I think this would be an excellent spot if you're looking to get some work done, read, or catch up with some friends. There was plenty of seating and the overall vibe was quite mellow and cozy. Everyone was friendly and the drinks were good but nothing out of the ordinary from your average coffee shop. I will say it looked like they had quite a few food options as well!
google avatar

Travis W.

Yelp
Pretty chill place to sit, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Nothing much else going on so perfect for people watching the passerby's.
google avatar

Sri Sneha G.

Yelp
The ambiance and vibe of this place is so cozy yet great to work from. I love the specialty coffees they have and tried them along the last few years. Service has been consistent and great always!
google avatar

Savannah M.

Yelp
Always a solid stop in Capital Hill. There's a decent amount of space to study or work as well.
google avatar

Minh D.

Yelp
Lovely space for a slow morning with a cup of coffee and pastries. I visited on a rainy weekend, went early and the place was perfect. Not too loud or crowded and tables are sparse - which is the way I like it :-) Got an almond croissant that was 7/10 and steamed milk because I couldn't drink coffee that day. Staff had an attitude that docked a star from this review. Other than that, I enjoyed my visit
google avatar

Elly H.

Yelp
Matcha was standard and good! Interior was ADORABLE. Service was fast and good. Couldn't ask for anything more :)
google avatar

Shay K.

Yelp
Nice coffee spot. Enjoyed people watching from the windows in a fun busy area. Coffee was great. Good seating area also. Friendly crowd, chatted with a few guests because they wanted to know what Facebook post I was laughing so hard at. I'll return when I'm in the area
google avatar

Yelp
My go to place. In Cap Hill, easily accessible ... for me Great coffee, chill music & friendly faces.
google avatar

Sherly H.

Yelp
I visited the coffee shop on a Sunday morning and we ordered items off the seasonal menu. We were blown away with how tasty the drinks were. I'll definitely be back here and wish I would've found this place sooner. One thing to note is I ordered my drink with oat milk and it was made with regular milk. Luckily I asked before drinking.
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
5/5 best coffee I had while visiting Seattle. I ordered what I believe was called a Warm Cinnamon Sugar Latte w/ oat milk. Everything about this latte was perfect. Coffee flavor was perfect, oat milk froth was perfect, sweetness was perfect. I also bought a bag of coffee beans and I can't wait to use them!
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
One of my favorite local coffee shops. Such good coffee beans, I always come in for a coffee and snack when buying my beans for the month! Rich and tasty coffee, the lattes are always so flavorful and never milky (my pet peeve). All of the breads and croissants are fresh and hefty portion sizes too! My only tiff about this place is the cleanliness sometimes. The bathrooms are always occupied by homeless people cleaning themselves up and it makes me a little less likely to want to sit for a while and work or enjoy my beverage. But it's not dirty or gross at all inside, it's very pleasant to sit and lots of tables! I'm more likely to buy my drink togo but always enjoy what I purchase :)

Yelp
Just a great coffee spot. Less than a minute's walk from a certain large coffee brand's flashy reserve roastery, Victrola offers something a little different. Started in 2000, they now have four locations across Seattle. They roast their own coffee locally, source it ethically, and are committed to making it delicious. I had a latte and it was, indeed, delicious. Their name is inspired by a 1920s sonograph. I'm not sure I get a 20s vibe from this location, but it does have a really neat vibe. The exposed brick, the high ceilings. the large coffee tree, the big wooden tables... I like it. (Oh wait! I just looked it up - this location is in a "1920s auto row building" - cool!) Website also says they host free coffee cupping classes every so often - "part ritual, part mini class." Check it out! Looks like their coffee bags for purchase range from around $13-22 based on type. They do offer a mailed subscription as well.

Yelp
I'm local, I walk by this place every day and I don't think i'll go back. Depending what you order, this might be your go to spot. For me, the coffee (latte) was not good to the point i couldn't finish it after a few sips. The service was average and they recently put up this weird locked gate to prevent the local houseless man from his corner. Overall, just average. There's a lot of coffee shops to choose from here and this one's not outstanding.
google avatar

Azelia L.

Yelp
Wowww one of the few espresso shots that I could actually taste the raspberry tasting note. Developing my palate here so I really love that they display the tasting notes and the origin of the coffee on their chalkboards. Drip coffee was delightful too! Same can't be said of the chai latte tho, stay away. Super watered down and weak.
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
It is a comfortable coffee shop that has a lot of space to sit. The pastries are good and the cold brew is top notch! Baristas are quick.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Great prices and great folks! If you buy multiple bags of coffee they'll give you a free espresso or batch coffee.

Yelp
We initially planned to stop by the Starbucks Reserve before heading out of the city. However, there was a line that was just ridiculously long and we were on a tight schedule. We decided to walk up the street and happened to see Victrola Coffee Roasters and randomly decided to pop in. Let me tell you, I am so glad we did! Upon walking in, I just really loved the whole vibe of the shop. The brick walls, the wood, everything -- it was totally my jam. This shop is complete with a roastery, training facility, and cupping room -- a truly beautiful space to enjoy a cup of joe. I went with my usual, mocha; this time hot since it was a bit chilly in the morning. We also ordered breakfast sandwiches. It wasn't before long that we got our orders. One sip of my mocha and WOW, this was honestly THE BEST coffee that I had on our whole trip to Seattle. The flavors were deep, unique, and just incredibly delicious. The breakfast sandwiches were also warm and tasty, especially their sourdough bread which had the perfect texture and chew. We were very impressed and so glad to have randomly ended up at Victrola. I definitely recommend a stop here if you're looking for a great tasting cup of coffee!

Trewen W.

Yelp
Came on a rainy day to dry off and ended up getting a matcha latte. Really nice, creamy, and still a strong aroma and taste of matcha to it. Not too sweet, just right. Really like the ambiance and the vibe of the place, i could see myself coming in here just to get work done!
google avatar

Hayden J.

Yelp
Love coming to this place whenever I visit Seattle! The baristas are always so sweet and they make the best cups of coffee. I got a lavender honey oat milk latte! New favorite drink when I come by! Cant wait for my next visit here :)

Peter L.

Yelp
Came here for an early morning business meeting but the coffee was bad, like really bad. The coffee had a strong salty, soy sauce taste to it. Had to toss it.
google avatar

Niya Z.

Yelp
Victrola was named for the popular home phonograph of the 1920s, representing the liveliness, exuberance, and fun of the Jazz era. This place is so chill that you can spend your whole afternoon here. Victrola provides great and affordable craft coffee, which is market fresh, seasonal mentality. They buy roast in small quantities based on fresh and excellent beans. Latte is one of my favorites because you can always get a coffee-pulling. Bring a book you like and all you need is a cup of fresh coffee.
google avatar

Margaret C.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Seattle I know this spot will have the perfectly steamed latte. I like that they make syrups in house but I wish they also made their own plant based milk as the one they use have additives. The main reason why 4 stars instead of 5 is because two baristas working there never smiled the whole time we were there.
google avatar

Eunice C.

Yelp
Friendly baristas, good coffee and spacious seating! The lattes and cold brews here were good and a fun first stop in our little food tour while we were in the area. Great seating options - we got here on a weekday late morning and there was a lot of seating (lots of folks just working here or grabbing coffee with a friend). A bit tough to find parking, but that's expected. I loved the vibe here - more lowkey, and a cute local shop to grab some good coffee!
google avatar

Nik S.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with good lattes and pastries. There is plenty of inside seating. Don't get it mixed up with the other Victrola Coffee Roasters nearby.

Kailey B.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop. Baristas were super friendly and quick. Espresso was really good but drinks were a bit too milky for me personally.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
A nice, quiet place to get coffee and a pastry in the morning in Cap Hill as tourists (like me, sometimes) walk by to get to that other coffee place on this street. They have an assortment of single-origins and blends, including espresso blends, and baked goods. It would also have been a great place to read or work on a laptop in this busy neighborhood.
google avatar

Ruby C.

Yelp
Visiting seattle for the weekend and stopped by this place first per a friend's recommendation. I got the iced caramel latte and a sriracha bacon egg ciabatta sandwich. The latte was one of the best lattes I've ever had in my life! It's definitely a 5/5 since the espresso was perfect and the caramel flavor added the perfect touch of sweetness to it! The sandwich was just a regular sandwich and nothing too special about it. Would probably opt for one of their pastries instead but still an enjoyable experience with great drinks!

Angelina J.

Yelp
Friendly and fast service. The lattes were good, but the croissant was a bit tough. I don't think I would go again.

Joseph A.

Yelp
I've been in Seattle, LA & Boston and have tried over 10 different cafes for my espresso fix. Vitrola @ Beacon Hill the best by far.
google avatar

Lorraine I.

Yelp
Can't love it more I like the setting The store is spacious and full of light I love their big tables The service here is really good And you can not say anything wrong here The coffee is serious good The lavender is my favorite
