Yelp
My own personal Asian grocer....hangin' off the east side of the I5, and within biking distance and very unknown. Though there is a huge sign on the east side of the store, and though it comes with its own parking lot, still, I fear not many know the secrets that lie within.
Employees speak Vietnamese, hence the inventory of primarily Vietnamese products, other SE asian things, like tamarind, galangal, various Thai curries, dried fish products, variety of instant noodles, all kinds of fish sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil...If you come looking for soju or natto or konnyaku, outa luck. Hardly any Japanese or Korean inventory.
My regular pick-ups were, of course, rice, and the chinese long donuts (found in frozen section) to accompany the rice porridges that I used to stew. And of course their vegetables and fruits run cheaper than Safeway or Freddie's, but their freshness QC is suspect, and you have to be a discerning shopper!
3in1 teas/coffees, and the CafeDuMonde type of chicory coffee for roasting cafe sue da. I've even located those Chinese sesame balls now/again, when they're there. They also stock a nice delicate assortment of French-influenced baked items, like rolled sponge cake and petite french cookies!
Butcher in back, though I honestly preferred not to purchase any questionable meat cuts from the bloke.
PS They don't turn on the heat in the winter or any other blustery-time. Be warned: bring a layer to put on; if you don't, you'll remember the unpleasant experience and wish you had taken me up on my advice.
