I’m Vietnamese and I would not consider these food as Vietnamese food, not even close 🥲 the taste is very bland. The quality of the food is definitely not worth the price. The pork spring rolls only have one thin slice of pork inside and the pork is super super dry (tastes like cardboard). And they use that same pork in my noodle soup as well 😭😭 I’m sorry but I definitely would not come back.

Soup #18 is the best, but it’s not Pho. Fried egg-rolls are also delicious.

Had the special combination beef pho and some fresh spring rolls, both were so delicious and everything tasted really fresh.

DO NOT ORDER THE FOOD HERE. I ordered from them today and when I received the food, there was a living fly inside my food, it was moving. Moreover, the food tasted really bad, as if they were cooked days ago, everything is terrible. The quality is the worst I have ever seen.

The service provided was satisfactory. The food was average, neither excellent nor terrible. The presentation was decent, but the taste was rather bland. Unfortunately, my friend, who has a gluten allergy, was informed that his meal was gluten-free, but it turned out not to be, which was a significant drawback.

We were looking for good pho around home, and this is it. I love the beef round pho and the hot jasmin tea!

One of the best kept secrets in East Dallas. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu (which is practically endless) You'll easily get sat and delivered food within no time. At a price that can't be beat. You'll rarely find the room loud, or in the rare occasions there are large groups the service does not disappoint.

Despite this place being really dark inside, it had probably one of the best Pho broth I've ever had. I got the XL special combination and it was filled to the top!!! I did not even have room to put any bean sprouts in it. There was so much meat and noodles in it! Some places give you more broth than anything. Not this place, it was great ! The spring rolls were good with a nice peanut sauce. As for the Bahn mi, it was okay. I loved the amount of veggies in it and the bread being so crispy and fresh but....it only had like 4 little piece of chicken. What was really great about this place was the service. I've never had anyone before ask me if I had any allergies to things. I thought it was super nice because if you're new to trying dishes, you don't always know what's in it. I didn't catch her name but she was a very sweet and attentive young lady. I definitely will be back to try more.

Vegan review- Did not get to eat here. I wanted pho. The online reviews show a picture of the menu saying "tofu/veggie pho", so i assumed that it would be with a vegetable broth. We arrived and saw that the vegetarian dish came with beef broth. Being a vegan, I could not have this. We left, the staff was not happy with this.

This place is my go to pho place in the downtown Dallas area. This is one of those family restaurants that you see the kids folding napkins or doing homework, son does water refills, daughter serves, and parents cook or take payment. The service here is always beyond great. The seating is dim which is so nice for solo dining and usually noise is minimal. The food is great, for their meat pho options u can opt for a smaller size. This is so nice for a lower appetite. The shrimp spring rolls ($4.55) is so huge, fresh, and has a great shrimp portion to sauce. We got the veggie and beef/tripe pho (around $10-11). Both are solid in quality and portion. As someone who loves tripe- this place does it so well. The garnishes and sirarcha/hoisin available were so fresh and plentiful. They even have dipping dishes on the side if you eat it traditionally. This is so much better than ngon and other pho joints in dallas city.

Anytime I'm craving viet food in downtown Dallas, this is where I go. Always quick and easy, hits the spot.

I LOVED THIS PLACE! Fast service (not a lot of folks around), friendly staff, and big portions of food. At the table, they had little bowls to mix in your sauce which I liked and they'll bring you some chili oil if you ask. We got fried egg rolls, a large special beef combo pho, a grilled beef bun, and a grilled pork and egg roll bun. The pho had lots of different cuts like meatball, brisket, and tendon (plus others but I can't remember all). The vermicelli bowls were really good and filling, the beef was rolled and the pork was juicy. I would come back every time I visit Dallas, highly recommend it!

Came here because it was nearby and I was craving some pho. Ambiance was bar like, with dim lighting and American/english music playing in the background. They charged me for a pot of hot tea which I wasn't happy with cuz most places i frequent usually give free tea. Fried egg rolls- size of them were pretty huge, quite crunchy. The filling was alot of vermicelli and some pork. I only ate half a roll and I thought it was ok. Special combo beef pho- it was OK. It didn't particularly stand out to me. Grilled pork,shredded pork and fried egg rice- the grilled pork was quite thin and disappointing. Shredded pork was ok. Fried egg was just a regular fried egg. The rice seemed like some type of short grain rice. My 1/2 viet husband was quite disappointed with the dish. He was still hungry after eating it. The prices that are shown online on their website is not the same as their current menu in the restaurant. The egg rolls were about $2 more expensive. Pho and rice were also more expensive as well. Overall, I had an average experience here. As a tourist, I would not be coming back.

Cons: I like my Vietnamese eggrolls made with rice paper (as pictured in other yelp reviews for this place), and so I purposely looked for a Vietnamese restaurant near my hotel that served those kind of eggrolls. I ordered eight eggrolls, and when I got them they were made of wonton wrapper I bit into one and then I threw the rest in the trash. Pros: it was easy to find. There were parking spots available in the front. And when I ordered my food to go, it only took 10 minutes.

From appetizers to my lunch DISH, which was Pho it was all served fresh and hot. The service was fast and friendly. Ambience isn't much to speak of as long as the food is great I will keep coming back here.

I'm sure the food is good but I came in just for a Mango/Strawberry smoothie with extra boba. This is the most disgusting boba ever . It is soo gritty and taste awful. I really hope this was just a bad batch because there's no way people enjoy it .

Hidden gem in the main Dallas area. It's not the prettiest place and the restaurant is always pretty dim. Been here twice and had pleasant experiences. I enjoy the pho broth. The flavor is on point and not too fatty like some of the phos I've had. Pork chop with rice is fantastic. The Vietnamese coffee is super good as well. The only thing I don't like is their fried egg roll which doesn't taste traditional to me and it's too fried and oily. This is definitively my go to Vietnamese spot in the area!

Hand on my heart. This is is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Dallas. That might be why it's just called "Vietnam Restaurant" because there's no need for any others. I have been coming here for 6 years and time and time again it has the best service (quickest in the biz) and the best food. Everything from their pork egg rolls to the Pho to the vermicelli--it's all the cream of the crop. I'm moving soon and am going to miss this place like crazy. I might even fly back the food is that good.

A little gem in E Dallas! It was not busy when I went! Service was quick and attentive. I got pho the broth was amazing. My only con was my noodles were a little hard. I will definitely be back.

Over the years there has been a slow decline here. Since the pandemic, it's just gotten worse and worse. I used to be able to overlook the ancient, dark, dirty looking dining area, the smelly bathrooms, and the sketchy service, because the food was ok and the pork egg rolls were the best in Dallas. I can now report that neither of those is true. We asked for 2 orders of the rolls (4 of them) and they were burned and super greasy...almost as if they were refried. The server brought us 2 new orders and same thing, again. When I say burned I'm not exaggerating. Unbelievable. The pho and vermicelli could not make up for the other disaster and the almost nonexistent service. Too bad. Guess I'll have to go to Houston for authentic Vietnamese.

BEST PHO IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS AREA I finally found a good pho place in Downtown Dallas! FOOD: I got the large pho with meatballs and rare beef on the side. The broth was flavorful and had the essence of pho spices. I enjoy a meatier depth in my broth over a sweet broth and this was it. Portions and ratio of meat:broth:noodles were perfect. Closest pho to my all time favorite Pho Bang in Garland, TX. First time trying this place out via takeout. Was in the mood for some noodle soup after a long day and wanted pho. Wanted to try out a restaurant we've never tried before, so decided to search for pho on Yelp. Ordered through the Yelp app & food was ready within 30 minutes. I am SO THANKFUL they packed the soup in an extra bag since my fiancé just had shoulder surgery and while carrying them in, dropped them. Thankfully, each soup portion was nicely contained in each bag and didn't spill everywhere (or even mix together). For sides, ordered both egg rolls & shrimp spring rolls. Egg rolls were very crunchy and had good flavor. The spring rolls had the lettuce served on the side, which I thought was very bizarre, but actually worked out. Their peanut sauce was amazing - to get the sorry spring roll (without the lettuce) to taste THAT good, the secret is definitely in the sauce. For entreé, ordered 1) meatball pho & 2) Beef tendon & tripe pho. I did put in a special comment of "No bean spouts & no cilantro" and found both packed with my meal, but they were on the side and easy enough to leave out. The soup flavor was good, tasted like pho, not too salty. The meat was about average in flavor. Meatballs were about average, no pepper kernels inside. Overall, though I wasn't blown away by anything, I was pretty satisfied with everything and will be back. I will probably recommend also.

I absolutely love Vietnam restaurant. I've been ordering from here for 20 years. It's one of the very few places that makes their egg rolls with rice paper. They're super crisp and light. Everytime I've ordered from here their delivery driver smiles and asks me how I've been doing. He's the nicest man.

The food and service were great. I'm not to big on Asian cuisine, but my girlfriend wanted me to try it and I was not disappointed. I will be returning and trying something different to satisfy my taste buds.

I have gotten sick twice. There was a green sheen on some of the raw meat. I won't be back.

First time going here today... FANTASTIC!!! The pho was so delicious and flavorful, I had to get an XL. I will definitely be back!

We had egg drop soup, chicken coconut curry, Mongolian beef stirfry along with shrimp, fried rice and French Black coffee with milk. Everything was amazing and very flavorful. We both agreed the egg drop soup was the best we've ever had and the French coffee was to die for we will definitely returned.

The food is surprisingly wonderful... It may look like a little hole in the wall, but when you take that first bite, amazing...! Loaded with flavor and totally delicious!

OH MY GOODNESS. This place is absolutely delicious and the serving size is incredibly enormous. This was the first time I was trying a new pho place since I already have a usual spot in Richardson, I never thought of venturing out, but I'm glad I did. Everything was hot, savory, and filling. Recommended to all my friends and family after I came home. Service and atmosphere was great too! The girl that was serving me was very attentive and quick.

09.26.19 We came across this place after a Yelp search for a Vietnamese restaurant near downtown Dallas. Interestingly enough, they open at 9am and offer a buffet! We got there a little past 10am and were their first 2 customers in the restaurant. Upon entering, it looked a little dark and gloomy. We were greeted quickly by a young server- he told us to sit wherever we wanted. We told him our drinks and headed to the buffet. As we got our plate of food at the buffet and sat down to eat, the man (owner) was on the phone speaking loudly, followed by his wife FaceTiming their daughter. Throughout our time there, we heard phone calls, many loud internal conversations between their family and staff. Despite the ambience (or lack thereof), the food was pleasantly decent. We enjoyed most their dishes; they had good variety and kept their buffet bars full. I would recommend this place for people who want to try some authentic Vietnamese dishes, but do not expect a classy, quiet dining experience. It seems that they are a very casual family-owned environment and you will hear lots of loud conversations from various people (owners staff, frequent customers) during your stay there. To us, it was quite entertaining. To others, it may not be. We learned from the owner that he's been there for 24 years; it definitely shows and they should consider remodeling it. Overall, we ate some good, reasonably priced food and went on with our day.

I was craving a Vermicelli bowl and thought I would give this place a chance since it's so close to my work. I ordered a grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl. Quantity was good but the grilled pork was bland and rubbery and the egg rolls had a freezer burn taste. The sweet fish sauce that usually goes with vermicelli bowls was watered down. Overall, I was not satisfied with the quality or the price. I don't think I will give this place another shot.

Food is good but the portions of meat are so small! This is a picture of my to go beef stir fry - so much rice and so little meat for $12?!? To top it off, I found a hair in my food!!

I don't get the hype? I didn't think my food was very good and I got diarrhea after. Service was good! It's a nice family run place. I think I just ordered the wrong thing. If I were you I'd stick to the pho because everyone is hyping it up and avoid the less popular items.

My favorite place to get pho in Dallas! Every time I come the waiter is friendly and accommodating. The pho is always fresh and tasty - very authentic! There's parking on the street and a couple spots directly in a small parking lot in front of the restaurant but those are usually taken. The pho is reasonably priced and comes in 3 diff sizes. Such a flavorful broth - I get the chicken pho but I have also had the beef. Both are good! Highly recommend :)

I met Jamie here for lunch today, and it was in the top tier of authentic Asian dining experiences I have had, rivalling the Chinese places around Greenville between Beltline and Arapaho and around Jupiter and Walnut in Richardson. How I know: close your eyes, and it sounds like you're somewhere in Asia. We both had the buffet, and were quite pleased with it, especially after reading the plethora of harsh reviews here in Yelpland. The fried chicken was moist and delicious, and the wide range of veggies and proteins were more than enough for us, especially given the $8.95 per pop price tag. When you first walk into the dining space, it feels like walking into your aunt's house for the big family meal, with employees and family sitting front and center to relax and nibble, as though they live here. It may be hard to believe, but this place is fancy remodeled now compared to how it was when I was last here, about 25 years ago. The main dining area is nicely lit with natural light from the corner of Peak and Bryan, and the back room is darker with booths and TVs along the wall. If you want a fancy, trendy mainstream Dallas restaurant, do yourself a favor and do not eat here. If you're up for a Vietnamese neighborhood experience, then check it out, and enjoy the place for what it is, a rare gem in the heart of the city.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and it's always consistently delicious. Their lunch buffet can't be beat. I love how the traditional favorites are always there along with changing additions like green shell mussels, fried shrimp, and pork chops. Their buffet also offers great dessert options - fried bananas with honey are often there. I have ordered off their regular menu too. I love the Vietnamese egg roll and charbroiled pork chop vermicelli bowl and meatball pho. Some of my favorite extra courses are their delicious three bean dessert and Vietnamese coffee.

Ordered delivery for the first time. Got chicken pho, chicken spring rolls and chicken salad. Best pho ever! Spring rolls ok. Very skimpy on the chicken. Chicken salad, I had a bite of, will have the rest tomorrow. Never getting pho from anywhere else!

There was a time when it was difficult to find Vietnamese food in Dallas. Vietnam Restaurant, in the heart of Dallas and in the heart of it's downtown area Vietnamese population, began as a community restaurant in 1996 in an old building on Bryan just before Uptown was built and before most of the revitalization of Dallas east and west of downtown started popping. I have no idea what the population must be now in a giant circle of new urban living with the city center at its middle. I do know that out of all the cuisines I have seen grow, Asian food has absolutely blown up in the last 20 years. Vietnam still has fans, especially of its M-F lunch buffet and now some detractors, I see from the reviews. They remodeled that old building and now that remodel seems stale to some. Definitely, they have competition. My husband and I have been coming here for years. Before the remodel and before we even really understood Vietnamese food all that well. Certainly before their newer, more non-Asian user friendly menu! We still laugh about that. We could sit and read their other menus like novellas. My point is that Vietnam is about the food. I have never had bad food here. Have they Americanized any of their food over the years? I am not Vietnamese. I can only say, not for me, as I compare it to other places we eat in as well. We drop by here now for the continued lower prices and the two dishes I enjoy the most. The Vietnamese Fried Egg Rolls (2) for $3.25 also come with ample lettuce and cilantro to roll them up in for eating! Not getting lettuce is a pet peeve of mine elsewhere. The Large Bowls of Beef Pho with thin rare round beef and sliced meatball are $9 and totally filling. The set up of Thai Basil, Cilantro, Jalapeños, Lime quarters and fresh crispy bean sprouts comes on one platter for two people and is more than enough. The booths, table surfaces and bathrooms were clean. I love having the old school spoon and condiment bowl holders on the table along with fish sauce. True, the place doesn't rock with ambiance; but they don't have rockin' ambiance prices. Our waitress was sweet and service was efficient. Everything was out of the kitchen at lightning speed. Adequate parking is still a crazy issue for Vietnam when they are busy. Street parking is all there is!

Consistently good food, good spring rolls and good customer service. It's too hot for pho in the summer but this is our go to for a warm bowl in the winter time.

I ordered fried egg rolls and a bowl of pho (meatball). The fried egg rolls had a different appearance (nothing like I have seen before). I dont know if it was just a different batter or that it was overly fried. The pho was fresh and hot upon arrival. It tasted good. I enjoyed it very much. I thought the pho was a little bit pricey. The service was good as well until I got to the front wanting to check out. I had to wait a little bit. This was Sunday morning where its actually kind of dead.

Recently moved to Dallas from Fort Worth and was really missing the great pho in Haltom city. Stumbled upon this restaurant and it will definitely fill the gaping pho void!! Their broth was incredibly tasty and it felt like I was eating a huge bowl straight from my moms kitchen! My husband and I both got the large bowl and it was certainly filling. Their Banh mi's are also worth mentioning with a flaky crackly baguette, definitely recommend!

Delicious Vietnamese comfort food. They have a huge menu, lots of vegetarian options. You can ask them to make vegan variation (no fish sauce, etc) and they gladly accommodate you.

Loved every bite! Alive with fresh and savory authentic flavor it's everything you'd want to rejuvenate the soul. I recommend the classic 76 or a rice noodle chicken broth 88 for non Pho lovers. Stopping by for some of their boba and the Vietnamese Fried Egg Rolls would also be well liked.

We recently moved just 2 blocks away from this restaurant and had never heard of it before. I love Vietnamese cuisine but my husband is a skeptic. What speak volumes of Vietnam Restaurant, is that my husband actually loves their food! 5 stars for just making the best fried rice in town so that I can try all the things and the husband can be happy with his fried rice. Their bahn mi's also remind me of the ones from the best Vietnamese restaurants in New Orleans. The bread is perfection and the meat delicious. I've also had their pho twice now and it is the perfect anecdote to a cold day. We have only done carry out so far but hope to dine in soon. So glad to be neighbors!
