"Not all breweries are kid-friendly, but this one overlooking Del Mar is especially welcoming. Vacationing in CA., my friend and I were here last year 2023. Back in CA. again and this visit we came here for lunch twice. We really love this place to come chill, relax and enjoy the beers and food. The service is always good, very friendly and attentive. Both time, we came for lunch. Plenty of indoor and patio seating, plus dog friendly. First visit, we weren't super hungry so we split a Backyard Burger, the kitchen was nice enough to cut it in half for us. The Second visit, my friend wanted his own Backyard Burger LOL and I ordered the Avocado Chilaquiles, it was so good. We'll be back again in 2025! Atmosphere: lofty relaxing vibe, bright and airy. Food: very good. Service: excellent.

Love the atmosphere, food and staff! Shout out to Georgie and Freddie for their excellent service. I had the mushroom burger with some mods, and the banana pie (nut allergy accommodations). I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Thanks guys!

Arrived at 3:50pm on a Tuesday and asked to sit at one of the MANY open firepit tables. Was refused as we were only a party of 2 and was told they had many large parties coming in starting 15 min later. So they sat us at a table for our meal, albeit at a 6 top. We ate, drank and paid our check and upon leaving there were still 7 OPEN firepit tables that were never sat during our time there. Definitely lied to. Food was good and service was sweet, but absolutely don't feel valued as a customer.

Parking required valet of 5 dollars. Beer was fine but not crazy. Food cost average of 20$ . I did not want to spend 15-20$ for a wedge salad appetizer. There were not a lot of appetizers that you would expect for barfood. Viewpoint tried very heavily to "elevate" its menu but kept the millennial atmosphere with decor and appearance.Waitresses were nice but assumed we were paying all together and was not easy to flag down or approach. What it lacks on food and price is made up for with as the restaurant is aptly named its view. Other things of note: Kid and pet friendly. Some vegan options. Most tables, though, were not wheelchair friendly.

After our stroll through San Dieguito River Park, we stopped by this restaurant for lunch, and it was a delightful experience. The setting is beautiful with views of the nearby wetlands that complement your meal. The food was fantastic; I had the best mushroom burger—juicy and flavorful. The salad and dressing was decent. Our server was very attentive and caring, making our midday meal even more enjoyable with her thoughtful and friendly approach. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping here for a bite amidst nature!

Highly recommend!! Excellent beer selections, spacious seating with a fire feature, friendly staff, plus dog friendly!! Loved this place and can’t wait to come back!!

Fun place with a great selection of beer and tasty food options. Valet parking available.

Google
Such a great high energy Brewery in Del Mar right by the horse-track. Beer is phenomenal, food is great (good amount of options) and atmosphere is electric! We even got a rainbow to enjoy during our meal! One thing, this place is popular, parking can be a pain, but there is a pay lot right next door. Pricey, $8 for two hours.

Yelp
This place is so good! The views are amazing, it's right next to the water, and there's even a little walkway around it to walk and view the water. Dogs are allowed too and it's such a nice relaxing pretty place! Our friend hosted her kids bday party here and they had the outside part with heated lamps along with the pretty views. She had about 40 guests and a balloon person attend and everything was run smoothly. We had 3 servers who did everything great!! And most importantly we're super patient! The food is so good! I wish I tried some brunch stuff! But we got all the lunch stuff. We got the burger, the fish tacos, the new item of the steak sandwich, the pear flatbread, truffle fries, the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and chicken fingers from the kids menu. My favorite was the steak sandwhich it was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor, the bread was soft and the sauces it had blended perfectly! I loved the fish tacos as well, the slaw and sauce it came with was good (although I did ask for a side of their black spicy aoli and that was a better addition too), the fish beer batter was also very good and light! I'd recommend this too. I loved the pear flatbread bread (it had a little kick to it!) and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese (we opted for adding bacon and it wasn't worth it, so little bacon smh. But u can add vegetables or pulled pork too!) The burger was ok, nothing super great I could skip on that and the kids chicken tenders was alright too. My kids didn't care for it. I'd definitely go again!

Yelp
Awesomeness personified, Charles and Malcolm love their brewery and the love put into the food definitely shows. We had a porter that was not shy to say I'm in charge the Amber was more subtle and totally misleading as I had more than I should. The food was delicious with the staters the Ceviche shouted out flavor, the mushroom flatbread was definitely telling me to eat more while the Adobada fries made me think I was in Texas eating BBQ with fries The main course was a seafood pot that was sooooo good I emptied my bowl using a dipping toast. Definitely a place to visit again

Wendy G.

Yelp
Super nice atmosphere. You get a nice view while drinking and eating away. I got the flight and many of others got their own beer. Lots of food options. The staffs were great and helpful. It was abummer that I forgot whatcl his name was. But, will definitely stop by whenever we're in sd!

D T.

Yelp
Food was delicious and beer flight was amazing also. Went on a Sunday, was busy but food and drinks came out at a decent time wait. Will be back.

Yelp
I attended a work function to welcome a new staff member and decided to have dinner at Viewpoint Brewing Co. in Delmar-Solana Beach. Parking is available in a dirt lot with rock pebbles surrounding the area. Payment is required for parking, but there is additional parking about half a mile away from the brewery. The hostesses were all nice and the area is nestled alongside the San Dieguito River. We sat on the outside patio and enjoyed watching fish jumping up and down in the river. This place is not too far from the Del Mar Fair as well. I ordered a local ale alongside the veggie burger. I was surprised by how tasty and flavorful the burger was. The veggies were crisp and fresh. On my way out, I noticed a series of lockers mounted on the wall with beer mugs bearing the names of what could be frequent patrons of the restaurant.

Cristina B.

Yelp
Had a farewell dinner with some friends after a workday. Nice location, beautiful view, and great food/drinks! The biggest turnoff for this place is the parking. It took the majority of our party 20+ mins each to find parking since the lot attached/next door are both small and fill up quickly. If you plan to park in their lot, be prepared to double park as about half the lot is dedicated to double parking. The brewery has a system to keep tabs on who blocks cars in so they can contact them if someone decides to leave, but if you plan to stay for a while you'll be fine. Aside from parking, everything else was great! Very spacious, outdoor seating. Lovely view of the water, the staff were nice, and everything we ate and drank was great! Perfect place to hang out with your friends and would definitely recommend for anyone in the Del Mar area.

Gabriela Q.

Yelp
Food was average but beer was good! Would come back here for the views and a drink. The restaurant itself is nicely kept. Plenty of seating and fresh air. The view is great! They do offer valet which we found to be cheaper than the nearby parking lots. Very pet and family friendly. They have casual bar seating overlooking the lagoon. Service was good. They kept coming around to help clear up dirty plates/check in. Food also came out fairly quickly. Although the food wasn't bad, we all agreed that it lacked some flavor and tasted pretty avg. We were a bit disappointed when we heard they no longer offered the banana pudding as a few of us had seen multiple photos on their yelp and it looked yummy. Overall, nice spot to check out and grab a beer/appetizer at when in the area!

Mimi L.

Yelp
The service was great and the ambiance was nice-there's a relaxing view of the marsh. Many pet owners brought dogs, who happily sat on the seats (instead of the ground). My children liked their mac-n-cheese, but sadly us adults weren't happy at all with our meals. The Mushroom Flatbread had the texture of hard crackers. We didn't know that requesting "no cheese" also meant that there wouldn't be any sauce on it. So, it was dry and VERY HARD (the flat bread). We also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which sat on a brown gravy (beef?). The crust of the pie was flaky and cooked well, but the gravy didn't compliment it at all. Plus, the filling was dry (too many veggies/not enough sauce) and flavorless. Finally, the Sprite was flat! No, most people aren't ordering sodas here, but hey...the soda was like drinking sweet water. We won't return.... Unfortunately, we haven't been that impressed by the highly rated restaurants in Del Mar. ***Valet parking is required for $5.

Audrey L.

Yelp
I haven't been here for way too long and finally was able to stop in. Parking is always a little tricky but worth it. They were offering only valet parking for $5. We were seated at the picnic tables around the right corner, since my niece was with us. They switched up the menu a little since last time I was in. We ordered the adobada fries and ceviche to start, which were really good. For our mains, we ordered Mac and cheese, quesabirria tacos, mushroom burger, spaghetti squash and flatiron steak with fries. The quesabirria tacos left a little more to be desired but everything else was delicious like the truffle fries! Now that the weather has cooled off, it's a great place to stop in before going to the races or to watch a game.

Veronica H.

Yelp
We were seated immediately after checking in. The place was on the busier side but nothing crazy. We ordered our food relatively fast as we had seen the menu prior to arrival. Everything came out fast. The flatbread was good but it could use more hot honey or you can order more on the side, as I feel that this is what takes each bite to the next level. I ordered the steak and frites, which I personally think was mid nothing horrible but not mouthwatering. My partner ordered the burger and his only complaint was that he wish the yolk was runny but he definitely enjoyed it. After receiving it our food this place was actually busy. I wish I could say our service was impacted by this rush, but our waitress lacked service all together. We had to flag her down to request anything, never checking in on us. The music definitely made the waiting time bearable, as we did have to wait for our drinks and the sides we requested from her.

Yelp
5 stars We found Viewpoint Brewery by chance driving through Del Mar and had a fantastic late lunch! We shared the Adobo Mac and Cheese--so delicious, with perfectly tender pork. Our beer flight didn't disappoint either: Hop-Cano Hazy IPA - Fruity with pineapple and peach, a little dry with a balanced bitterness. Penitent Man IPA - Their signature West Coast IPA, hoppy and piney with a smooth finish. Bari's Passion Wheat Ale - Light and refreshing, with real passion fruit juice. Hop to the Future - Juicy with white grape and citrus flavors, great complexity. Time Traveler IPA - Piney and resinous, a throwback to classic 90s IPAs. Great brews, cozy atmosphere, and beautiful views--we even took home a Viewpoint hat! Definitely a must-stop if you're passing through Del Mar. Check out more reviews like this @wandering_lovebirds

Yelp
This place was really cool. At first I thought my GPS sent me to the wrong place, because it looked like a warehouse from the parking area. but realized quickly that once you walk through the doors, it opens up to a great restaurant with lagoon views. We ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and a Korean steak sandwich. They were both wonderful!! The aioli sauce was spicy and awesome!! I loved my sandwich. Hubby got the Koran steak sandwich and it was delicious too. I also had the tangerine mimosa. Yumm!! The vibe there was great! Lots of people just enjoying the beautiful Sunday. The food was great, the place was awesome. But I only give it a 4 star because our waitress couldn't remember to bring me ketchup...and I asked her 3 times. She came by several times to ask if we needed anything, and 3 times I asked for ketchup. Each time she acted like it was the first time I requested ketchup, but still never got it. Needless to say, I left a bunch of French fries uneaten because I didn't get ketchup. They were great French fries too. So I was sad. And a little irritated!!

David G.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely phenomenal. The people here are the best people you will ever meet. And the people here are all extremely polite. The people here treat you like family. The food is excellent, the beer is great, and you have an amazing time with family and friends. A super chill environment and you will have a great time. Come here for a great time!!!!

Glen K.

Yelp
It was CLOSED for lunch on a SUNDAY. Called to confirm and their VM said they are open on Sundays. Their sign outside the patio also says they are open on SUndays. WHAT GIVES???

Darylynn D.

Yelp
What a nice cool spot to hangout. They are dog and kid friendly which is a plus. I was seated immediately because I came during off-peak hours. I had the fish tacos here with their fries and it was a decent meal. The fish tacos oddly smelled like fish. I don't typically smell the fishiness of the fish when I have fish tacos so that was weird. The fries were good. There's a parking at the lot next door for $4/hr or valet for $5.

Summer S.

Yelp
Came here last Sunday with my best friend and her dog and we had such a fun afternoon! The place is huge and super dog friendly. Our server who was also the bartender was great. Very friendly and attentive. Basically anywhere you sit, you will have a nice view. We ordered the mushroom flatbread and the Caesar-ish salad with grilled chicken. Both were good. I would get the salad again but probably try something other than the mushroom flatbread. The parking can get a little tight but they have double spots. Make sure you leave your phone number if you park behind someone so they can leave if they need to.

Vicky K.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a beer and burger with friends! Also kid friendly with trails outside to keep them occupied while waiting for food!

Angelina C.

Yelp
My experience here was so underwhelming that I'm surprised their Yelp rating is this high. Some positives from visiting here: we were seated quickly and this is a dog friendly restaurant. Those were the only positives. Other parts of this experience were negative. To start, our waitress was very short with us. We felt rushed to order. Once we decided, we ordered the classic breakfast plate ($14) and the backyard burger ($20!). My friend's whole breakfast plate, except for her eggs, arrived cold. When we asked for extra condiments like butter, jam, and ketchup, the waitress looked extremely annoyed. I ordered my burger to be cooked medium well, but it was extra well done. The menu description said the burger would come with special sauce. The sauce was not special- hardly there actually, and it did not help that my burger was extremely dry. Frankly, you can get a much better burger at in-n-out and save some money.

Yelp
We recently visited Viewpoint Brewery with my daughter's soccer team in between games. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even with our large group. Our waiter, Jesus, went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of--he rearranged tables for us and made excellent recommendations for both food and drinks. I highly recommend the Penitent Man IPA; it's a wonderfully hoppy, bitter, yet smooth brew. As for the food, the grilled fish tacos were outstanding, fresh, and flavorful. The location is also fantastic, situated near the Del Mar Horse Tracks. If you choose to sit outside, you'll be treated to a beautiful view of the bay. Overall, Viewpoint Brewery is a great spot for groups, and I recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.

Heather D.

Yelp
Good beer with a wide selection Food was really good. We got the mussels which were delicious. And the beef pot pie which was the bomb We sat at the bar to avoid the long wait. Chairs were very uncomfortable and too many for the space Staff was friendly. The service was a bit slow for ordering, but the food came out super quick. it's a great location with beautiful view. Will definitely be back , but will not sit at the bar

Mateo V.

Yelp
We were here on a cold day, but the outdoor patio was still really nice. I had the fried chicken m on top of French toast with a sausage gravy ... AMAZING! The sauce has a bit of spice to it and the chicken was super juicy. My family was happy with their orders as well; The steak and eggs came with a nice cut of meat, tender and thick. We were expecting a thin steak but it was very nice. The lettuce wraps were good as well; but nothing spectacular. I think there are better things on the menu to order than the lettuce wraps. All in all - great lunch and lunch we will definitely be back!

Harnika S.

Yelp
Average food served, kids Mac and cheese is not your typical Mac and cheese, good thing it's not loaded with cheese. Ordered chicken sandwich - 3/5 Fried fish taco was average too, salsa served with it was bland. Oh the fries were super oily - attaching pic for reference

Lisa S.

Yelp
Best cauliflower tacos ever! Food is always good here and the service is friendly and professional. Highly recommend! Great views of the inlet too!

Che B.

Yelp
Another fabulous dinner great service great food great atmosphere. This is the place to come when you want a quick Wednesday night dinner that's out of this world. I had the fish and chips. My wife had the chicken pot pie. They were delicious.

Mckenna M.

Yelp
Dropped by for a very late lunch/early dinner at 3:30pm on a Friday. Wasn't too to busy, but definitely seemed like a popular place! It's semi-outdoors and can get a little chilly so bring a light jacket! We tried a couple beers and was a fan of the imperial stout and the "POG" flavored ale. For food: The korean steak sandwich was good, but fell a little on the drier side and I wish it had more sauce. The fries were solid and fresh. The beef pot pie was definitely the star here though. It looked amazing when it came out and tasted amazing as well. The puff pastry was flaky and light and cooked through. The beef inside was tender and flavorful. If we came back we would 110% order the beef pot pie again. Service was solid and food came out fast. The only thing knocking this down to a 4 was probably that I didn't love love all their food. Would still come back for beers !

Jules F.

Yelp
This is a great pet friendly place with good music and great service. Drinks are on point along with food. Parking can be a bit tight; however, it's worth the wait.

Jack K.

Yelp
We visited this place for lunch after checking out an expo in the morning. It's a quick stroll and easily walkable from there. I would love this place in the summer months. The walls are all open so you get the San Diego fresh air. The food was good - what I would expect from a pub/bar. I got the grilled fish tacos and they were good. My partner got the adobada fries and they were good. Only flaw is the toppings seemed to be clumped together so they weren't that well incorporated. Beer was good. Combucha was good. Service was quick. I liked this place!

Suki M.

Yelp
Good vibes, great food awesome staff what more do you want in a brewery? Dogs that's what! This place is so dog friendly they even have dog bags, not to put the leftovers in... but to clean up after them lol. There is a trail right outside near the patio with a view of Delmar beautiful sunsets can be seen nightly. The food and beer is was delicious the people, staff as well were some of the friendliest around it made this place perfect for our large party we had a great time eating here and can't wait for next time.

Angel L.

Yelp
Popped in on a Wednesday for lunch. Found parking on site. But I can see how it can be problematic when it's busy but there's an open lot across the street. The place was pretty empty and getting a seat with a nice view was no problem. It is dog friendly throughout, which is tops because we had our pooch with us. I was debating what to order and wanted to be good so I settled on the wedge salad and added grilled chicken. Hubs ordered the adobada pulled pork lettuce wraps and a flight of beer. When my salad came, I was like "wow!" It looked awesome. Definitely more elevated than I expected. Housemade buttermilk dressing with fresh chopped herbs. Large slabs of smoky bacon. Chopped eggs. Flavorful pieces of grilled chicken. The salad was $16, the chicken was an additional $8. Not inexpensive at $24 but it was a generous portion and delicious. I'd definitely order it again. Hubs said he enjoyed his lettuce wraps. His only critique was that he wished there were more pickled onions. Service was great! Everyone at the brewery was super friendly. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, our server was nice and knowledgeable, and they said goodbye when we left. A nice way to enjoy a sunny afternoon!

Melissa P.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service, food came out quickly! I loved that we were able to sit outside on the patio for sunset. Dog friendly patio and an extensive beer menu

Katelyn R.

Yelp
Great food, great beer, and great service! What more could you ask for? I mean, free ample parking would be great but not so much in Del Mar. $5 valet was convent. Lots of dogs were dining in with their humans, and they had a decent amount of TVs for football. My apologies for not including food pics, but thousands of other people have that covered already on this yelp page! We had the fried chicken and french toast which was phenomenal with lots of flavor and sauces. We also had the mac & cheese which was delicious as well! Can't wait to come back!

Renee K.

Yelp
We picked Viewpointe to be a meeting place for guests coming to town for my son's wedding. The only problem is we didn't get reservations. We showed up and Viewpointe was completely booked! We had guests dropping in and nowhere to go (to complicate things, we are from out of state). Here comes Kyle and team to the rescue! He found the perfect spot for us. While we were in a panic, our 50+ guests had no idea there had been an issue. Kyle could have easily sent us on our way but the kindness and service they offered was out of this world! Thank you Viewpointe for going above and beyond and for helping us make wonderful memories on an unforgettable weekend.

Bryan F.

Yelp
$16 KIDS CHEESEBURGER?! Not okay. I was shocked at the prices plus an auto gratuity of 20% for 2 adults and 4 kids? I would have tipped 20% pretty much regardless of service, but this autograt just led to lazy, sloppy service. We waited 15 minutes to place our initial order. If you're charging me that much for a child's burger, you better deliver 100% on the rest. That didn't happen at this place. Management, y'all need to get the prices lower and better service. Oh, and $5 valet to park in the parking lot to top it off!? Shame on this place.

Robert G.

Yelp
Food was good The service started out good but somehow our waitress left us for just long enough to make things uncomfortable (empty plates and empty drinks) Too bad because it was such a good start Having our dog along was terrific Lovely setting

Kris L.

Yelp
I had the grilled fish tacos with added jalapeños and was disappointed. You can order them with fries or salad, which should have been a tip off that these are not the expected So Cal fish tacos, but an Americanized version. There wasn't mush fish so it felt like I was just eating lettuce and the jalapeños were in strips and very bland, they tasted like bell peppers. The ceviche appetizer was decent, though not a knockout. My husband liked his pot pie so overall I gave this a 3 star, but the tacos were more like a 1-2 star. Our server was pleasant and there is a nice view if you are seated by the marsh.

Ryan T.

Yelp
First time here at this brewery. Me & my wife had a great experience. We sit at bar had great sever, Georgia was fantastic. Will be back great time!

Ako Y.

Yelp
It was a bit different to find the place as the parking has "entrance" and "exit". It's rather packed parking space. The inside is pretty big and very nice decors. There are high seated chair areas where they are mostly close to the bar. Then there are low chairs area, where you can sit comfortably. We got seated within 5 minutes. The server was nice. The runners are also very attentive. We had burgers and Mac'n'Cheese. Burgers presentation was very nice and tasted good. The party was pretty big and it was good. The Mac'n'Cheese was ok. The pasta was cold and hard. But it's Mac'n'Cheese so I didn't expect much. Overall, it was good. .

Star B.

Yelp
The salads, flatbreads, and fish tacos are all worthy of trying! The service is friendly and attentive. Inside and outside areas are open and spacious. I'm a big fan of dim lighting with heat lamps. They have it all here. Cider beer is an immediate go to for me.

Melissa C.

Yelp
The food was good, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm not a fan of beer, so I can't comment on that. We went for a late lunch after a game, so it was busy at that time. The service was okay, and the parking can be a challenge.

Deb S.

Yelp
Great first stop in Southern California - wonderful service from Georgia (great recommendations!) and delicious beer. Every sample was light and refreshing, some with a little hop. I would probably order food next time, it all looked delicious. And the breeze with the view... fabulous.

Heike R.

Yelp
This place is calm and relaxed, we enjoyed the food and beer!!!! Our dogs we're welcome and had a good time as well

Jayson E.

Yelp
Things started off well. We came to celebrate a youth soccer tournament game. 11 families with kids. Beer is as most breweries are around the area. However, one of the team Dads who had ordered a "Best Mushroom Burger" LITERALLY took a bite, and what he thought may have been an errant piece of bone, ended up being a metal bolt. Tooth cracked, asst manager basically called him a liar. Everything else was amazing...servers were fantastic, all other food was pretty good. But the absolute lack of cleanliness and careful preparation in the kitchen is appalling. If you can miss something as noticeable as a bolt dropping into food that you are preparing, what else are you missing? 0/10, would NOT recommend! EDIT: After talking with the owner, the asst manager comped our party for the full evening's meal and drinks and potential dental work for the dad. They made right by our extended family. It's nice when a business recognizes their mistake and chooses to do the right thing. We will return.

Ed C.

Yelp
Amazing lively but also chill atmosphere. Been here a couple of times. Wide selection of brews and food has all been good. Came here after hitting up the Del Mar races one afternoon. Made it a great afternoon.

Yelp
I'm still very bullish on this place. Their staff are super friendly. The place is awaits crowded (a good sign as people return to their favorites.). And the food was top notch. I had a bunny blonde beer and meatballs for app and a delicious spicy halibut over potatoes. Delicious! Love this place for its uniqueness and ability to make a single dinner guest feel welcomed.

Yelp
Ambiance is great! I liked that it is pet friendly. Food was tasty we liked the ceviche. We came with a big group after a soccer tournament the Service was accommodating, very friendly, and well organized.

Yelp
Love this spot so much. Sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the chef who gave us some fantastic desserts. More recently visited with a larger party and was greeted at our seats by the GM serving us water. Thought it was great to see a GM helping out his staff on a busy night plus he was very friendly and chipper. Love the beer and the food is always super tasty. Mac & cheese, charred broccoli, and wedge salad are always a must for me! Fish & chips are bomb too

Yelp
Fabulous in every way!! Delicious dishes, upbeat vibe & excellent service! Twice I've had the pleasure of being served by the delightful SOPHIA. Her smile, upbeat personality & fast professional service makes the whole dining experience so much better. Love everything about this place! Thanks! LoRusso
