"Relax and take in the aromatic smells of this local roastery, which is home to pour-over coffees and espresso-based drinks. Need decaf? The decaffeinated options are among the best in the DMV." - Mekita Rivas, Tim Ebner

"In episode two, Gizelle Bryant trekked through the rain to meet Robyn Dixon to gossip over breakfast at the roaster’s Hyattsville home base. Bryant snacked on apple cider and warm coffee cake while Dixon opted for the G.O.A.T. bagel — an open-faced bagel topped with avocado mash, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, and Old Bay." - Vinciane Ngomsi, Tierney Plumb

Right and perfectly made coffee. Amazing almonds croissant. Fresh tasty bagel. Vivid atmosphere and interesting industrial art design. I wouldn’t wish for myself better cool snack&coffee stop. Absolutely recommended.

Google
Nice coffee shop and roaster. Have come here every now and then over the past years to grab a drink, get fresh beans, or to take a coffee class. Can highly recommend this place, one of the best on the immediate area

Google
Absolutely delightful coffee and equally wonderful space! I was lamenting about the lack of cool local coffee roasters in DC to a friend when she recommended that I check out Vigilante, the soon-to-be solution to all my DMV coffee woes. I came by about an hour and a half before they closed on a Friday afternoon and was immediately impressed by the incredible energy, friendly service, and delicious coffee. About half the space is dedicated to their commercial roasting machines and bags of coffee beans -- it was really cool to see where the action happens! The rest of the shop was a simple / no-frills, but absolutely delightful seating area, with a couple long communal tables and smattering of two-tops. There's a decent amount of seating inside, as well as a few large picnic tables outside for the nicer weather days. It was pretty quiet, with a low buzz of conversation and calming, yet vibey background music. It's the perfect spot for either a nice coffee with friends or to settle in to work for a few hours -- I definitely took full advantage of the time I had there before they closed. Of course, no local coffee roaster is complete without some incredible coffee! I got a latte with almond milk, and was thoroughly impressed! The beans were rich and not acidic at all, with a slight hint of nuttiness. I'm not sure which beans I had, but they had a decent selection you could choose from, so I can't wait to come back and test them all! Truly can't recommend Vigilante enough -- it's quickly become one of my favorite spots in the DMV!

Google
Great atmosphere it has a bit of the Copenhagen/scandinavia feel with high painted brick walls and simple potted plants adding a pop of color and life. Very intergenerational and community oriented clientele. Often really busy so be thoughtful to take up just one chair otherwise you’ll get the look :) Delicious range of food and thoughtfully made coffee drinks. Açaí bowls are beautiful as are bagel sandos. Nice when food is aesthetically pleasing and tasty.

Google
I'm visiting friends in the area and was looking for a quiet place to have coffee before starting work. I lucked out when I found this place. Not only did I have a great breakfast, but also an incredible cup of coffee! I ordered The Cherry on an everything bagel to go alongside my coffee. Insanely delicious. I'll definitely be back and hope to check out their other location before I leave.

Google
What an absolute gem of a place! It's rare to find a coffee shop that gets everything right, but this one nails it. From the ambiance to the food to the coffee, everything is fantastic. Most coffee shops in the area are lucky if they can excel in just one of those categories, but this place delivers on all three. After our favorite coffee shop in DC closed, we've been searching for a worthy replacement—and we think we've finally found it here. The freshly roasted beans add a depth of flavor that no synthetic, lab-made syrup could ever replicate. I highly recommend trying their espresso on its own to truly appreciate how well they craft their coffee. If a coffee shop can confidently serve espresso without relying on sweeteners or additives, you know it's the real deal. This is officially our new number one coffee shop in the entire DMV area.

Google
Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville is a very cool, welcoming, delicious coffee shop tucked away on a side street and definetly worth a visit! Perfect for a quick to-go cup of joe or to hang out and work. The Iced Chai is one of the best I've ever had! The hot Mocha Latte was ah-mazing, and my husband who considers himself a coffee snob, couldn't say enough about his 4 shot Americano - not bitter, just perfect! On my most recent visit on a weekend morning, the Barista was large and in charge of that machine, and you can tell she was very well trained. I love the Acai Bowls and can't wait to try more of the food they offer. See you all again soon!

Ava VanSickler

Google
This is a great coffeehouse and roastery, a great vibe, strong coffee and the staff are so nice. I can't comment from experience on their food as I've only had the carrot cake muffin, which is fabulous! But the acai bowls that I've seen look amazing and the other pastries my friends have had.

Andrew P.

Yelp
Non-coffee drinkers... don't let cafes like this discourage you. If you like somewhere to work and want some appetizing looking pastries, look no further! This cafe has a beautiful mural on the side of the building... it's perfect for pictures if cars aren't parked on the side of it. There's plenty of tables both inside and outside. It was just nice enough to be able to sit outdoors, even though it was all in the shade. The person I was meeting was inside, though. I decided to order some hibiscus tea, which was quite refreshing, and was ready almost immediately in a lovely cup. Delicious pastries, including kouign amann, were on display. I was tempted, but I decided not to. But I'm seeing amann at more and more cafes and bakeries now -- is it a new trend or have I just not been paying attention? Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but that doesn't take away from the epicness of this cafe. And it's bigger than the College Park location. Swing by if you ever want to get away from your desk!

Yelp
Vigilante Coffee is a fantastic spot with a cool industrial vibe, housed in a warehouse-style space that feels modern yet inviting. The atmosphere is perfect for coffee enthusiasts or anyone looking for a unique coffeehouse experience. The service was impressively quick, and the staff was knowledgeable and approachable. As for the coffee itself, it definitely caters to serious coffee drinkers with bold and complex flavors. Even as someone who doesn't consider themselves a coffee connoisseur, I still enjoyed my visit and appreciated the quality of the brew.

Tava W.

Yelp
Maple Spiced Latte made with Oat Milk was delicious! Love at FRIST SIP! Wish they had the Almond Croissant they offer on their menu! But all in all service was great, the vibes were great...and perfect weather to sit outside on the benches, enjoying a nice cup of JO! Or tea... They offer some other breakfast treats and other pastry items and cookies. Maybe I'll try something to accompany my drink next time ;))) But for now this Biscoff cookie that came with my drink will have to do! Happy Yelping!

Yelp
This coffee shop in Hyattsville may be the only reason why I'd even visit there in the first place. This spacious coffee shop has an indoor and outdoor section where there's a lot of space for anyone. Whether it be a group or just you, there's always somewhere to sit and I appreciate that. Like most coffee shops, Vigilante Coffee serves hot drinks like coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks like cold brew coffee, iced lattes, and lemonade. There's also the option for pastries if you are into that, along side with fruit bowls and bagels if you need food too. I got a regular latte for my visit and a almond croissant which seems to be my go to pairing when I go to a cafe. You place an order and they call by your order number for you to pick up at the counter. I was impressed at the latte art, it is pretty when you receive your cup of coffee. The almond crossaint was also really good too! If there was a closer location I'd no doubt say this is one of the best coffee shops in NoVA but for now, it's one of my favorites in MD!

Yelp
Title: A Caffeine-Fueled Oasis: Vigilante Coffee Saves the Day! "Vigilante Coffee, you've done it again! This unassuming hero of a coffee shop has swooped in to save my day (and my taste buds) with their: Açaí bowls that are so good, I'd take down a latte-wielding villain for a spoonful (and at a price that won't leave me feeling like I've been mugged) Online ordering that's faster than a speeding bullet (or at least, faster than my morning caffeine crash) Strong coffee that packs a punch, but won't leave me shaking like a leaf (unless it's from excitement) Ample seating that's comfier than a superhero's secret lair (minus the secret identity reveal) Live music that's the perfect sidekick to my caffeine high (no capes required, but encouraged) All in all, Vigilante Coffee is the real MVP (Most Valuable Pour-over?). It's a vibe, folks! Get your coffee fix and your açaí on, all without breaking the bank or your caffeine tolerance. 5/5 stars, would recommend (and have, to everyone I know)!"

Claire G.

Yelp
Hip little coffee spot in a cute, walkable area. Felt like I was back in LA for a second. Great coffee selection. The acai bowl was really good! A nice place to work, the outdoor seating was great.

Brittney S.

Yelp
Very cute coffee shop in Hyattsville! It's spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. People were at tables working on their laptops, so it's a nice space to work remotely. They offer coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as bagels, pastries, and acai bowls. I got the almond croissant, which was great, and the fruit bowl with yogurt and granola, which I also enjoyed. The customer service was wonderful!

Peggy L.

Yelp
Fabulous food selection (especially in pastries section), espresso, service and ambiance! Enjoyed my time, people watching and reading a book there... this spot has cool artsy fartsy decors around the place to give some artsy and rustic feeling. It reminded me of Portland, Oregon. It has more than plenty of seatings with tables around indoor and outdoor. Take your pick anywhere! Ordered hot vanilla latte - it was delicious, and strong espresso flavor blended with foamy milk and vanilla flavor. Great latte around this place! Honey pistachio kouign - delicious pistachio and honey pastry.... Basically some pistachio paste inside the flaky pastry then topped with honey and crushed pistachios. Impressed with the sweet pastry! Ham and cheddar croissant - can't go even wrong with it! Amazing ham, surrounded with melted cheddar then crunchy and flaky pastry hugging these. Overall it's very satisfying for a savory pastry! I highly recommend it to be warmed up to enjoy it even more!

Nessa R.

Yelp
Our neighbors keep this place alive. It's our own spot that we call home. Have you seen my pics! Only true baristas are capable of the magic they can do with their hands. Come here weekly to support! You should too!

Yelp
Over the last few years Vigilante has become the favorite part of my weekend plans. I love stopping in for a latte and almond croissant. If I'm mixing it up, maybe I'll get an açaí bowl. Their lattes are consistently delicious and beautifully decorated. The service I've received has been prompt and pleasant. The space fills up on Saturdays and Sundays with run clubs, bike clubs and lots of families. There's a variety of seating both inside and outside including a massive live edge wood table that looks over the coffee roasting area. We've always found seating when needed, though occasionally take our winnings to go.

Isaiah G.

Yelp
We were driving by this town and I decided to stop by for an afternoon coffee. It's a cute little town with a lot of art. This coffee shop is nice and open a lot of seating. I ordered a vanilla ice coffee. The service was good. We got our coffees fast. My coffee was on the bitter side and I asked for it to be on the sweeter side. I had an okay experience.

Elaine S.

Yelp
The açaí bowl (half) was excellent and refreshing! It was a perfect breakfast on a warm morning. I also couldn't help ordering my kuign aman heated to go with my açaí bowl. Two of my favorites, if not one of their bagels ... and always my vanilla latte.

Amanda T.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this coffee shop, it is such a nice ambiance to see and smell coffee beans being roasted and their coffee (I got a mocha latte) was delicious.

D T.

Yelp
Vigilante Coffee is one of my go-to spots remotely working (when it's not packed). Ambiance is nice, food/coffee is a pretty decent as well, and the staff's friendly.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
We came in from out of town and HAD to stop by when we saw the name (Swifties, IYKYK). We weren't disappointed! Their coffee is fantastic and so are their pastries! You can tell everything is made in house and you can taste the difference. The whole place has the best vibe and they have a lot of plants everywhere, which makes it feel very homey! Everyone was friendly and answered any questions that we had! If you're in the area, you HAVE to go sample their coffee!

Yelp
I visited Vigilante Coffee 2 or 3 times. Once was in October 2019. My girlfriend at that time recommended this place. It's cute, kind of a warehouse feel with high ceilings. It was a comfortable setting for WiFi, where my girlfriend & I WiFi that day. The staff was cordial, and the coffee drink was good. I also visited on Thursday, March 12, 2020, a dramatic day. I had work travel, and where I was for my work travel was very busy; I think because people were trying to get s**t done before Covid was threatening to shut everything down. I got my oil change that afternoon before Vigilante, where I wifi while waiting for my car. I remember Governor Larry Hogan declaring Emergency in Maryland. Everyone in the waiting area was glued to the TV to hear what the Governor had to say. And he said we're shutting schools down for 2 weeks; an older elementary aged kid exclaimed, "Yes! No schools for 2 weeks!" I'm thinking this was not the reaction I'm having considering the unprecedented situation we were all in, but also was thinking this is how kids are when they hear no school, they'd get excited; I might've reacted the same way if I was elementary school age too. I WiFi at Vigilante to end out my work day in this comfortable calming environment on this rough day.

Yelp
First time trying a new coffee spot that's not Starbucks or dunkin. Wow I was amazed. Not only does this place have a unique environment that's shows off their coffee beans being grinder fresh by this huge machine. But they have nice comfy seating outside and inside! The decor is very chill and the vibes are so nice. Cashiers and baristas were fast and friendly with their service. Providing excellent service with a smile and ensuring that everything was accurate. Now on to my favorite part. The coffee. I got a flat white w/oat milk and my partner got maple spice latte. Along with the "barista style" bagel which is your choice of bagel, Nutella and banana topping. Everything was delicious, full of flavor and just divine. I enjoyed everything and will definitely be coming back again.

Ashleigh T.

Yelp
Perfect choice. I popped in Vigilante on a Sunday around 11am, it was bustling with a diverse crowd of people who were grabbing coffee to go, sitting inside, meeting up with friends, enjoying a solo cup, or hanging out with their fur friends. The line wasn't too bad and the person who I believe may have been the manager was super helpful with assisting me in understanding the menu while also training someone. I tried the seasonal drink, honey lavender (oat) latte, a cinnamon bun for my partner and I had the ham & cheese croissant. It took about 10 minutes to get everything. I loved the latte and my partner really enjoyed the cinnamon bun. I didn't really care for the ham& cheese I think it could have used more of both. I loved the vibe here and the service was great, I will definitely be back soon!

Shaniece S.

Yelp
I wish I lived a little closer but it's a treat when I do fulfill my need for the G.O.A.T. bagel and chai tea latte. I absolutely love the G.O.A.T. bagel. It is absolutely delicious. I would not have thought of mixing goat cheese, avocado mash, cherry tomatoes, and some old bay sprinkle. Sometimes I add on a little balsamic drizzle as well. They also have the cherry bagel which has arugula, balsamic glaze, avocado mash, and cherry tomatoes which is pretty delicious as well. As far as my drink of choice, I have not found another place that can make my chai tea latte taste like Vigilante's. I prefer oat milk with mine but it pairs well with the "cardamom, ginger, cracked pepper, and notes of cinnamon and cayenne". I prefer to order in advance since the bagels do sell out but I've ordered at the register a few times and the service is always great. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful. I love the look and feel of the space but if you'd like to have a seat here, get here early. It is a great space to get some work, planning, or reading done.

John B.

Yelp
This shop was unfamiliar to me as a former Hyattsville resident, I had not heard of this shop, which lies in an odd set of intersections involving a lot of one-way streets. But other people have heard of it, and I was glad I ordered in advance even on a Monday as it was crowded. My order was ready pretty much exactly when promised. Their chai latte has a strong spice blend; there's definitely some nutmeg in there but I couldn't pick all the flavors. Doing it with oat milk cost extra, but only 0.25$ (so many places charge a dollar or more). I ordered half of the bagel form of avocado toast, which was good, maybe not the GOAT as was claimed, but a worthy compliment to the well-browned croissant I paired it with. The brick-walled atmosphere made it look like a nice place to sit in, but for what I needed-a quick stop on the way to a destination-this place produced exactly what I wished of it.

Yelp
Met a friend on a Sunday morning. There is a parking lot that is 50 cents per hour , like 1 min walk away. Parking on the lot was free on Sundays. There really isn't any parking infront of here, but looked like some ppl just randomly decided to park here. This location appears to be "down an alley". If you go past the Post office, you missed the "alley" Arrived @ 11AM and there was a nice line of people already waiting to order! There are tables inside to sit by yourselves or with friends. Also, there are menu scans on the tables so you can order from your table and pay thru your phone. I didnt know this until I grabbed a table after ordering in line. Their online menu is extremely descriptive , offering photos of all items and prices! I loved that! The coffee shop was playing music the likes of Lauryn Hill. A chill atmosphere Non gender bathrooms, one of them did have a baby changing table I got the baristas favorite - plain bagel with peanut butter, bananas and a drizzle of honey. It was a mess! lol, like messy. I didn't even eat half of a bagel. I just forked up the bananas Also, had the Mint coffee. It was okay May stop back to work from here on a nice mid day. Glad I checked this place out!

Robert R.

Yelp
The first phrase that comes to mind is Build it and they will come. This coffee shop is located basically in an alley off Route one in Heights Ville Maryland. . I discovered it by accident and I'm glad I did. Every time you go there you see baby strollers families, people with their dogs everywhere. They sell organic free trade coffee. The place is small but the employees are so nice impatient with the huge lines they always have. They are kind to all the customers. Their coffees are fantastic and I have had their muffins and almond and chocolate croissants and they are all first rate. My son loves their brownies. If you are ever in the Heights area, definitely stop by you will enjoy it.

Michael P.

Yelp
Great neighborhood Coffee shop. Relaxed atmosphere and the staff are real friendly. My main stay are the bagels but I love the yogurt bowls as well.

Marcela G.

Yelp
Aawww I love everything about Vigilante. Thank you for the great food, drinks, and service.

Thamicha T.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere of Vigilante the most. Whether you decide to sit inside or outside, it is an amazing vibe. I ordered the caramel latte. I thought I ordered an ice latte, however I ordered a hot one. The barista kindly made me an iced one. I am not a fan of overly sweetened coffee but my order was very bitter. I had to ask the barista for a shot of caramel. After the shot it still wasn't sweet enough. I'll definitely visit again because of the ambiance and maybe I'll try something new .

Yelp
I stumbled across this awesome coffee shop when I selected coffee shops on Google Maps. I loved the reviews I saw so I decided to pop in to get some homework done. The atmosphere immediately reminded me of two of my favorite places I frequented when I lived in Kansas City. It has that Industrial meets organic vibe with lots of lovely plants to freshen the air and give it a welcoming feel along with lots of hardwood with metal tips and chairs. It also has a couple of garage doors with outdoor seating I imagine makes for a great summer mood. There does feel like quite a lot of wasted space as half of the interior is off limits with lots of bagged coffee and whatnot. It feels like something more could be done - and to be fair, could be in the works. I ordered a 16oz hot spiced maple latte with half and half. It was pretty delicious. They have lots of options as well as good options including açaí bowls. They have gender neutral bathrooms, quite a few places to plug in and power strips with 15 plug-ins so lots of room to share! Free WiFi. But do be a gem of a human and buy something first. Customer service was great and they even talked about their specials and offered to answer any questions we may have after we said it was our first time coming in. It's in a cute little spot that I imagine when the weather is a bit warmer is a nice place to walk around with your to-go drink.

Jerelyne T.

Yelp
So lately I've been on a hunt to find spots other than Starbucks (I use to be a huge fan but I woke up and got educated on what they stand for etc--- long story short I'm good) Anywho about Vigilant the coffee shop. It was interesting I saw a few things that sparked my interest online (cold brew frenzy) which they no longer serve it was disappointing. However I didn't let that stump on my parade I was determined to find something I liked. I got the iced housemade vanilla latte and omgoodnesssssss it was good (insert Keith lee eye roll) I also got the açaí bowl with no granola (even though I didn't want granola they were also out. So I am guessing this is a popular item on their menu. However for me personal I have tasted and made better! Can't go wrong with a smoothie and fresh fruit though! Service was great quick for the time (I came mid-day) that I came there. I don't expect it to be too busy it is off campus to UMD (University of Maryland College Park), but it's definitely in the cut too. It's not visible on the street and parking is very limited in this area. I saw a cute dog without a leash! Do I think that's sanitary or safe for customers depends. As long as they stay with their owner and is on a leash I have no complaints. However, people will do what they want to do!!! ENFORCE PET BOUNDARIES IN THE FUTURE. I like dogs but because of restrictions in some places I choose to keep mine at home where he is safe Any who the ambiance of the place was very casual and coffee shop like. They have mugs, travel cups, shirts, dessert displays and seating. Everything a college student, in town resident, or visiting tourist would enjoy. I know a lot of reviews were talking about customer service but these employees were nice to me, quick, efficient, and on there stuff! 4/5 stars because Positive: - fancy coffee roaster the smells and aroma in the air from that is lovely. - coffee was probably the best shop coffee I've had EVER!!! I drink a lot of coffee might I add. - customer service -Quick service Negative: - no pet restrictions or even a sign welcoming them - açaí bowl was not my favorite - parking (however what coffee shop do you know that has great parking!!! I'll wait.... NONE exactly, so you get my point!) That's all folks! I will be returning!

Andrew-Brian N.

Yelp
I've had vigilante coffee numerous times at outlets throughout the DMV, and was glad to have dropped by their flagship shop in Hyattsville! It was late morning on a Saturday and the place was buzzing. Despite that, I still managed to find a table for two. There were many bites available, including Bakeshop goodies, which I looooveee! We decided to just get a vanilla latte and flat white and they were both enjoyable. With my limited coffee knowledge, I'll say I typically prefer a medium roast flavor that isn't acidic. This espresso drink matched my palette well and it was so delish! I enjoyed it so much, I had to ask which beans they used: it's the Tin Lizzie and I grabbed a bag I don't have a car and don't find myself in Hyattsville often, but I'd definitely return

Mat G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee shop & cafe with light fare! In a country where Starbucks crushed local coffee shops and commercialized the industry, Vigilante has created a fine niche for itself! They offer really fine coffee varieties in a great setting with excellent light fare that will impress you. Their staff are really great and there are great reasons why they have been such a success!

Tosin O.

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere. It was super cute when I walked in, customers had their laptops out , others were just chatting and people with pets were front. I made my order quickly at the front, paid and was asked if I wanted "to go" or "for here". I was given a tag and told my order would be over. I really like that you could sit anywhere you liked and my order (açaí bowl and tea )were brought to me fairly quickly. I was meeting a friend I haven't been able to catch up with. I probably won't be back as it was a 45 min drive to get there. However, if you are near this area it's a nice spot to kick back and catch up with a friend.

Sophia H.

Yelp
Great coffee, food, ambience, and service. Latte was smooth, but just FYI, the taste is slightly more bitter than other lattes I've had. I enjoyed the vanilla latte more--it was delicious, soft and smooth, and not too sweet at all. Ham and cheese croissant was also good, satiating with a nice flaky texture. Relatively cheap prices too, only $0.25 for oat milk substitute!

Rebecca F.

Yelp
[Pre-pandemic review] Came here with a group of friends. The cool part of this coffee shop is the history and art. There is a portion of the café that is just a wall of art. Inside there is a good amount of seating but the chairs and table sizes were not very large or comfortable that I would consider working in. Prices for the coffee and food as pretty pricey. The waiters come around to your table to take your order so you may feel more inclined to pay tip. I got an oatmeal bowl with warm milk which was pretty good, but not worth the price. I did like that the blueberries they served were big and sweet. Parking was challenging as most parking in this area is metered. We did find a free lot nearby and walked a few blocks over.

Yelp
I love Vigilante coffee! It's my second purchase and their Cheffe beans are absolutely delicious. I plan to stay a loyal customer, especially after my recent experience with their customer service. I ordered their beans but they would've arrived late based on their classic shipping method. After emailing them, they offered to ship it using an expedited service without asking for extra money. That was unexpected and extremely nice of them! I've yet to come to the actual location - which I will definitely do for one of their coffee tastings - but the coffee and service speaks for itself. I found them at a local, DC coffee shop called Somewhere in Navy Yard. After dialing in the beans, I had to get more. I'm excited to try their other varieties! Highly recommend.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Introduced to this place and came here for the first time today. I ordered their chai latte with soy milk for $6.36. My friend ordered their mocha latte and bagel with cream cheese. What's hot - Quality. My chai latte was delicious! I could taste some chocolate, too. Chai is naturally a little gingery/spicy, which I could taste and absolutely loved. My friend's bagel with cream cheese looked good and it didn't look like they skimped on the cream cheese. - Prices. Pretty reasonable, especially for the portions and quantity you get. - Service. Fast and efficient. My friend and I arrived around 8:30am. We were able to place our orders fairly quickly and get our orders quickly, as well. They have a good system of tracking dine-in orders with providing you with a small placard. - Pastries. My friend, who has come to Vigilante for years says their pastries all come from local bakeries, which means they're freshly made on a regular basis. Definitely a great quality. - Socially conscious. They offer compostable containers! My friend and I ordered our drinks in takeaway cups, in case we didn't finish our drinks. That's when I learned their containers are compostable. I appreciate businesses that rise up to the responsibility of being aware of current issues that affect them and their customers. - Location. Pretty convenient and not on the main road, which I like, because that means you're dealing with less traffic. - Layout. Pretty spacious interior with a decent number of tables and chairs. It looks like they offer free Wi-Fi, but I'm uncertain, because I didn't use it when I was there. What's not - No savory breakfast option. Call me picky, but I like savory breakfast options, like breakfast eggs sandwiches, lox and bagels, etc.... They don't have those types of options, which kinda sucks. Not the biggest downside, but something to be aware of. - Parking. It's a neighborhood cafe, so be prepared that parking in the area isn't the easiest to come by. Final Answer Am happy to have been introduced to this place and will more than likely return in the future.

Yelp
I enjoyed a sweetened matcha latte w/ oat milk and the ham and cheese croissant was nice and flaky.

Kerri C.

Yelp
Five stars for the salted caramel latte- it was a little sweet but unbelievably delicious. The coffee is by far the star of this place. I'd say three stars for the fruit bowl with granola and Greek yogurt. It was extremely expensive for what it was, even if it tasted good! Also, the space is beautiful. This isn't their fault but I wish it was larger. Could you believe it was hard to find a seat at ten am on a Thursday? That's telling as to how good the coffee is!

Yelp
Place seems pretty nice for a hang out and a cup of joe or tea. Walking towards it you could smell the fragrance of their freshly made bagels which was very aromatic. I ordered a chai tea and the GOAT bagel my order was missing the goat cheese and the old bay seasoning so two things missing on a bagel that was meant to have everything on it the bagel was amazing so that's the only reason I wasn't too upset but I really wish they would have put the ingredients the menu called for. The chai tea was very spiced and ok. My brother had gotten the ham and cheese croissant and had bitten into and only discovered the ham and cheese towards the last 2-3 bites rather than throughout the whole croissant. This place seems ok and id probably only come for certain items but not something I'm rushing back to.

Yelp
This is one of the best chai I ever had and I love their "the cherry" bagels! The workers are always friendly and signs to us. We love the environment too. Very nice area! We liked this one more than the one in college park with better parking.

Yelp
A fab find at Vigilante for me--coffee from Yemen. I very much appreciate Yemen's coffee, so was thrilled to find some here. Vigilante sells it as part of their "Crème de la Crème" line. This one's called Haraz. I'm partial to this location over the other one on Route 1, nearer to the U of Maryland. The service here is better. Vigilante's overall operations are expanding and improving. Been a customer since they first opened at this spot.

Yelp
On a crisp winter day in 2022, we decided to layer up and cycle to Vigilante. This is an important selection for our first coffee ride of the year. It kinda sets the tone. This place has loads of character. I took a minute to take in the artwork on the side of the building then made my way inside. The cafe is cute & the aroma of the brews hit me as soon as I entered. They take fresh coffee and brewing seriously!! Friendly employee engagement is also a personal touch that I miss ordering from busy chains. I ordered the maple spice latte & a sweet treat. Contactless payment was a breeze. We sat outside to enjoy and continued discussing Maryland's history before our trek back to East Potomac Park. Vigilante is a socially conscious business supporting local & global initiatives that make our environment a better place...you can find more info about those initiatives and cool merch, high quality grinders, & coffee subscriptions on the website. Support!!! Tip: Check out their Brew Works educational series on You Tube. You may learn a thing or two.

Yelp
I enjoyed my hot vanilla latte with 1 pump of vanilla syrup. It was the perfect sweetness. The staff all seemed very friendly.

Yelp
Great coffee in Hyattsville, MD. It's right next to the Hyattsville District Court. The place has some great indoor and outdoor seating. It's nice and open. It's a really nice up and coming area. The baristas are very knowledgeable and they roast the coffee in-house.

Yelp
Just moved back to the DMV after a short stint in California & this is probably the closest to West coast style coffee I have had. A big complement!

Yelp
I stopped in here because the pictures on Yelp made it seem like a cool place to maybe get some work done. It seems to be one of the only coffee shops in town and the inside and outside are big enough for most sized parties. They roast the coffee beans on-site and have a general menu of the normal coffee shop items. I ordered a hot chai and attempt to set up shop. Sometimes you can get lucky and find an electrical outlet to plug into, but not at this coffee shop. The general vibe is west coast skateboard surf vibe with a mix in of boho Instagram influencer. The music they play is also in that same line. So I made my phone calls outside because you can't really make calls over the music. Again, this is a coffee shop so it's not exactly designed to be a work spot. It served its purpose in offering coffee, tea, and small bites. I removed stars because it took 30 minutes for a chai tea. The cashier gave me a little placard to stick on my table when I originally checked out because if you order for-here then they are supposed to bring it to your table. When I went to ask where the chai tea was and showed the placard, the barista scrolled through the pending list and said they didn't have a chai tea and I'd have to go back and order again. I was a little dumbfounded because you can't get a placard unless you've already ordered. So I moved back over to the cashier line and before I reached the front of the line, one of the other baristas pulled me back over and made the chai tea. Weird and confusing. I think the best way is to just order to-go so they can just make your item and stick it on the to-go counter for you to pick up. That'd be easier for me. Not sure if I'll be back since Busboys and Poets is right up the street. We will see though.

Yelp
Always a joy to hit Vigilante when going into Maryland. Coffee is unmatched, and the food is also great!

Yelp
It's edgy and raw in its appearance but the coffee is real! The staff seem to all be "coffee experts" and since they do a lot of Theo own sourcing, you're in for a treat. While I don't love all the pets hanging around and people not keeping them under control, the spot is very urban in an area that isn't so much. I like it but especially like the coffee!

Yelp
Don't come hungry to the Vigilante in Hyattsville. If the Owner's goal is great coffee and providing free workspace for others, they have it. If they want to maximize their opportunity they need to up their food game A LOT. I often pass on Vigilante because their baked goods are sub par and they often run out of their few items by noon.

Yelp
Met up with the bestie for coffee at the Vigilante in College Park. There is a small parking lot in front and we were able to snag 2 spots on a Saturday afternoon. The I teri or has ample seating - a large table for communal sipping and smaller tables for more intimate sipping along one of the walls. The menu included a specialty maple drink for the fall (yum) and it came with a complimentary biscuit (tasty). They also have a selection of açaí bowls and baked goods. I was too late to score a ham and cheese croissant, they were all gone. The staff and service were top notch. I wish I could remember her name but she was super friendly, patiently answered questions about the menu and was overall just very pleasant. I really enjoyed her.
