Awesome spot, super easy to find on the Strip. The service was great, and the coffee and food were incredible. Definitely recommend it. It's like coffee geek paradise.

There’s something strange and comforting about walking into a coffee shop 2,700 miles from where you first found it — and realizing it hasn’t lost its soul. Vigilante Coffee, newly planted in Oceanside, California, feels both familiar and a little dreamlike, like you’ve wandered into a parallel version of a place you once knew in another life. The light is different — brighter, bluer — but the energy hums the same. It still smells like ambition and roasted beans, and the baristas still talk to you like it matters that you’re here. Inside, it’s laid-back but intentional. Sunlight filters through clean design. There’s no performative cool here — just quiet confidence, the kind that comes from knowing your coffee is excellent and your mission is honest. I ordered a house roast oatmilk latte, the way I always do. It arrived with no ceremony, just a beautiful pour and that telltale aroma — chocolate, a little citrus, something to anchor you in your day. Smooth, deep, unfussy. Not a trendy drink. A real one. The staff? As always, generous with their time and knowledge. They answered questions with ease but never condescension. They like coffee, and they like talking about it. It’s rare. You can feel the training — but more than that, you feel the culture. And just under the surface — still — is their ethos: ethical sourcing, hands-on relationships with growers, small-batch roasting that doesn’t scream for attention but somehow speaks clearly. That hasn’t changed. This place feels like a continuation, not a copy — like something was carried westward with care. It’s Vigilante with salt in the air and the beach just a block or two off. Less rust belt, more surf town. Still Vigilante. If you’re in Oceanside, go. If you’ve never been to the original, this is a perfect beginning. And if you have — well, you’ll recognize the feeling.

Google
Coffee was excellent! Smooth, perfectly balanced, not bitter or over-roasted. I also tried a small açaí bowl, and it was definitely worth it! 👌🥣

Had a chai tea and a seasonal coffe with salt, both were amazing. 🤩 would return again. Needed something to wake me up and the coffe did the trick

Google
Motivating place to work remote with friendly, knowledgeable staff and fresh tasting menu items. Customers are in the door as soon as they open no matter what day it is. I've always been able to find a parking spot and find a table with a plug for my computer. I'm a morning person so it's nice that they open early and it's a chill atmosphere to work in. Very close to the beach which is where I'll stop before or after my visit for a run. Their iced (or hot) vanilla latte with oat milk is my go to beverage. Very smooth and the flavor is never overpowering. They offer baked goods that are from local shops in the area. Most of these items are gluten free, vegan or both. I've had a blueberry scone, chocolate chip cookie, apple crumb cake and the cherry avocado toast. You can clean up after yourself and put items in bins or they come around and grab it when they can. They offer free water on draft a the counter. It's an open, industrial concept and the front is made of garage doors and windows. I dress a little warmer / bring my coat with me when it's cold out - it's chilly inside sometimes. I like to sit near the back to watch them roast the beans in house. They also sell bagged coffee and other merchandise in the front of the shop. Also love this place because it is dog friendly inside and outside.

Google
I enjoyed a moment with my daughter at Vigilante Coffee, located on the south side of Oceanside. Vigilante Coffee provides an open-air experience. Its high ceiling and large windows allow for a nice ocean breeze ambiance. Moreover, Vigilante large indoor seating gives plenty of elbow space. They also offer outdoor seating. During my visit (about 3:45 pm), there were many people working on their laptops. The large wooden table naturally fills the space by offering community, a place to sit and talk. Vigilant offers both yummy drinks and interesting merchandise. Yes, I look forward to another visit at Vigilante. When you are in Oceanside, stop by Vigilante and enjoy a moment.

Google
I am not a frequent customer at Vigilante, but I always enjoy my time there, so I tend to return. The service has always been wonderful and kind, and that is one of the reasons I return. I love the open air seating. It always makes my morning coffee taste a bit better. This time, I ordered a vanilla latte with oatmilk. Ordinarily, it is delicious, but it tasted burnt. The bitter espresso flavor was not my jam. My husband ordered an oatmilk mocha, and that was tasty! We also ordered a raspberry pop tart. The icing was a bit sweet, but overall, it was a great experience.

Google
My boyfriend and I decided to have a little morning date after a week's worth of moving into a new apartment. I'm so glad that we picked out Vigilante Coffee as our coffee date because it's exactly what we needed. The food and drinks were filling and very much worth the price. We loved the fact that we could get half of the toast and acai bowels. This was a great way for us to try a little bit of everything without buying too much food. Each thing we got tasted amazing and we both agreed this would be a regular visit for our coffee dates. Lastly, the vibes overall in the cafe are very calm and cozy. It definitely gives some beach vibes without being too overcrowded. To top it off, they had a live guitar player that was playing some lofi music. If you need a relaxing cafe to unwind or to get some work done that's still lively, definitely stop by this place.

Yelp
This place was so nice and I'm very happy to have found it. The coffee was really good and I'm so happy with the avocado toast that I ordered. The bread was good and the seasoning was delicious. The coffee was good in a way where you can tell the beans were roasted nicely. Th staff were super friendly and I liked their water station they had. It's a very spacious area with a lot of seating and outlets available for charging. They do only have Free WiFi Monday- Friday though which was weird but this is a place worth visiting.

Yelp
Vigilante is my new go-to coffee spot in North County! This place is packed every time I go, but the line moves quick. Getting your drink can take some time but it's soooo worth it. Lots of seating inside and outside, though, I usually opt for outside since the weather is always gorgeous. Do yourself a favor and get a large latte, it comes with 4 shots which makes it beyond worth the price -- which isn't unreasonable for craft coffee in Oceanside. Will always recommend this spot to people looking for a good coffee place!

Yelp
Two big thumbs up for Vigilante Coffee. Set in the kind of open and comfortable industrial space that is now a signature of San Diego venues, VC delivers both good vibes and first rate espresso drinks. The baristas seem to know their craft and they are working with good product. In sum, it is the kind of coffee spot that I love to find, patronize, and hang out in. Their food menu is next on my list to try. Regardless of the edibles, whenever I am along the 101 in Oceanside and am in need of a cortado or latte, this is going to be my new and first port of call. Highly recommended.

Yelp
10/10 the best vanilla oat milk latte I have had in SD! Just the right amount of sweetness. The baristas are super friendly and speedy service for busy weekend. Plenty of parking in the parking lot.
google avatar

Yasaman J.

Yelp
It is VERY RARE that I write a review while at the business that I am writing the review about. But this coffee shop deserves all the rave. The ambiance is super cool and chill. Located super close to the ocean, it has the benefit of having its own parking which is a SUPER +++ The nice tall barista helped to figure out what is good to order. He suggested the vanilla latte (half sweet) which really hit the spot. They know their stuff for sure. Some places the baristas don't even want to say hello, letalone help you to choose what drink to get. I always like to see what they recommend and what their specialty is. Their ceramic mugs are HUGE and they fill it up! I HATE when some coffee shops don't offer ceramic cups. Some of them don't even have large size drink cups which is super LAME! Not this place! If you are ever in the area or heading to SD, this is a great charging station! Triple bookmark it!

Yelp
Vigilante is one of my regular coffee shops. They have a great range of drink and food options. They get pretty busy Saturday mornings, but they work through the line pretty fast. The shop is pretty large and there's plenty of seating. It's a great spot to chill and enjoy your coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here twice and both times my matcha was delicious. Ordered it hot and sweetened with honey . I tried their dirty chai and it was good as well. Look forward to trying other drinks in the future. Also loved the industrial interior but beachy vibe of this place. Idk if that made sense. Service was good too, Batista was really sweet.

Yelp
"Man, I wish we had a place like this in Denver." These were my words to the group as we walked in. Unanimous agreement. On a recent trip to the area, we stayed nearby and Vigilante was the stop every morning (and one bonus afternoon) for coffee. The horchata latte rules. I upgraded to a large on days 2-3 because it's simply that good. I have not found one like it since. The pastry case gave us delicious chocolate croissants and various donuts & cookies that hit the spot. More than anything we liked the vibe here. Staff were smiling. So were the people chilling all around the large, open, airy space. I had never considered buying swag at a coffee shop, but left here with a rolling tray and some sweet stickers. Amsterdam taught us how well some things go with coffee. Vigilante seems to have caught on. Next time we're in Oceanside, we'll be back. Five stars.

Yelp
I've posted once before, but this time I ordered something different. I ordered a small fruit bowl and it was delicious! And I feel like I got a lot for the price! Love coming here because how roomie it is and how there's eating both inside and outside. Service, as always, was amazing!
google avatar

Jordyn J.

Yelp
Obsessed with vigilante. I tell everyone about it. I'd drive here every day from south San Diego if it weren't for the traffic. The vibe inside is amazing, I tell all my north county friends to get their work done in this cute little shop. I am yet to try something I haven't loved. Honestly, nothing bad to say. Please open a location down south!
google avatar

Abeeha H.

Yelp
just wanted to add that this place is still awesome and the lady who made my matcha deserves a kiss on the forehead thank you
google avatar

Yelp
Great vibes, Great coffee. I always love coming here! I got the ice Horchata latte and it was super tasty, not overly sweet!
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries! Had a delicious ham and cheese croissant and a maple spice latte. The croissant was light and fluffy, and the ham and cheese were distributed fairly evenly. The latte was nicely balanced, not too sweet. The space is also really nice. It's huge, and has tons of seating. They a lot of cute merch too and tons of flyers for local events. Definitely a community space!

Yelp
First impression of my first visit... Fantastic chill space to work from or hang with friends at. And GREAT coffee. I stopped here when driving to eat dinner at OSide Harbor, and needing a caffeine boost. So I look forward to coming back and sampling more of their goods. Great service from the team here on Saturday 5/3/25.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely loved Vigilante so much that I went twice during a visit to North County...and got beans too! The coffee is delicious - tried a few different drip variations. I also snagged a sip of my friends matcha latte which was excellent - not too sweet! I loved the yogurt bowl and bagels (from Prager Bros). The ambiance is great - industrial vibe with a good amount of outdoor seating.
google avatar

Jacky G.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting. A friend recommended me to come here to work. I was not disappointed! I loved how open and big this place was! Plenty of seating and I loved they had a place where I could plug in my charger. Staff were so friendly and kind! Coffee was delicious! I had an iced vanilla latte with soy milk.
google avatar

Mandy S.

Yelp
I got the honey cinnamon iced oat milk latte and it was so yummy! Wasn't too sweet! Got the barista toast too - thought it came with PB and cream cheese but ours only came with cream cheese, was still good, although nothing special. But would def come back for the latte!! Place was cute, good vibes! Lots of seating!
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
The place is cute and welcoming. I enjoyed the help of the cashier as speediness of the service. The location is perfect since there is plenty of parking and the drinks are amazing. I got a macchiato with soy milk and a chocolate croissant and I can say they were both delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a cute place to catch up with friends or a place to get some work done. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Gabriel Lon J.

Yelp
The staff is wonderful. The coffee is good. The food is good, the vibes are great. I got the mocha and it was delicious and we got a vegan cinnamon roll and açaí bowl. Both were solid. They have some dope merch and coffee gear.
google avatar

Cassidy S.

Yelp
Nice space, the vibe of the location is really nice and the seating is very spread out but also set up in a way to socialize with the people you come with. I had a honey cinnamon latte which was good, their large portion is very large and was a good price. My friend got the avocado toast and she said it was good and so was the price!
google avatar

Gogo A.

Yelp
Comfortable, open, modern space. Good coffee. Service was adequate but not terribly friendly nor enthusiastic.
google avatar

Cheyne R.

Yelp
Super cool spot for a nice latte and do some work on the laptop. Service is very friendly. The place is very wide open and inviting. Cool spot.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
This location's parking lot can fill up quickly, and same with the seating. Other than this, I ordered a vanilla iced coffee and enjoyed it. It's cute inside. They do have a sign up that says "vote," so I wonder who they, as a company, support. The employees are nice and service was fast even when they were busy.
google avatar

Siria F.

Yelp
Coffee was good! Spacious and several tables available to have a seat. I had some trouble connecting to wifi so I used my hotspot but I'm sure it was probably something on my end. The playlist was on point. I will definitely be returning
google avatar

Jailene M.

Yelp
Best matcha in Oceanside hands down. I can't say much about the coffee because I've only had it once a year ago. Service is always fair. Ambiance is very lively with lots of great natural sunlight and plants.
google avatar

Drew B.

Yelp
WiFi is only available during the week, which makes no sense to me. The matcha I ordered was good though.

Marilyn B.

Yelp
Very nice people. Great coffee and food. Avocado toast was great! Service was very friendly.
google avatar

Jim A.

Yelp
Changed the source of their plain croissants evidently now they taste like Costco. Not good.

Natsuko S.

Yelp
After an early morning surf with my daughter, Vigilante Coffee hit the spot. The oat milk latte was bold and smooth. The warm spinach danish was delicious, and there's plenty of parking. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a cup of coffee before going to the beach. Vibe is cool, looks like a nice local spot. Inside was clean and well stocked. They looked well staffed. Order came out quickly.
google avatar

Addy W.

Yelp
Cute little coffee spot. The service was great, interesting menu choices. Came on a raining day, with their open concept facility did get a bit cold, but could see the benefits in the summer.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
The coffee was amazing! We got the Mexican mocha and dirty chai. Both were delicious and we didn't wait long at all. The staff was very friendly and informative!
google avatar

Phil R.

Yelp
Vigilante is easily the best coffee shop in Oceanside when it comes to friendly service, chill vibes, and getting work done. Unlike other spots, VC is actually a HUGE location for a coffee shop. There's plenty of seating and lots of outlets along the wall to plug in. It's usually busy, but I've never had a hard time finding a seat and the wifi is solid. The bathrooms are also super clean and the self service water station makes life way easier. If I could, I would come here every day. I've admittedly only gotten a cold brew, but they have a reasonable selection of drinks and food items. There's lots of natural light which keeps the mood up and dogs are definitely welcome. It's really everything you'd possibly want in a coffee spot. See you there!
google avatar

Krishen W.

Yelp
Stopped by while driving north from SD. This coffee shop was enormous with so much space and giant garage windows that, when opened up was really nice for the ocean air. I got the matcha latte, which was pretty good. My only complaint was that the price seemed a bit much for a small amount of the drink. The matcha was rich and felt like good quality. Overall the baristas were pretty fast and were nice.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and kind staff. We moved here from SF and were so scared we wouldn't be able to find good coffee, but Vigilante has been a treat. I love that their cups and lids aren't plastic and you can tell the company cares about people and planet. Great non pretentious spot with really great coffee. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kim F.

Yelp
Good coffee, a large assortment, and friendly staff. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Yelp
This is my second time being here. I was here about 3 months ago and a local restaurant recommended this place for coffee. My first time here, my friend and I ordered our drinks but didn't hear our names from the distant table we sat outside. We were busy catching up that our hot drinks were cooled off. This time, I came with my husband for a quick Sunday breakfast. He ordered drip coffee and we both got the ham & cheese croissants. I also had a decaf mocha with oat milk. They gave us a number to put on our table. The order came out in reasonable time. It was odd that our croissant ham & cheese sandwiches were flattened but it tasted good. We both enjoyed our coffee drinks. I like the open space. The space is great too to catch up with others. There's a number of people inside working on their laptops so it may be a good space to work in but keep in mind that there's music playing in the background. The bathrooms are clean and there's no strong perfume scent (thank goodness since I personally hate strong scented bathrooms). There's a place to change your baby's diaper on the second bathroom. Next time, I look forward to trying their açaí bowls and avocado toasts.
google avatar

Adrian V.

Yelp
I kept seeing this place when I drove by to get my weekly haircut and today video de to stop by. This is for their cold brew, as soon as it touched my lips, I could tell this was going to be good.

Yelp
The opportunity to get a "peek behind the curtain" is a rare occasion and I'm grateful to @vigilantecoffee and @yelpsandiego for providing me a glimpse of how coffee beans are roasted. "Vigilante Coffee" Founders Chris and Ashley facilitated an interesting and interactive demonstration of the coffee bean roasting process that included sampling their "Suke Quto" coffee made from beans they source themselves from a farm in Ethiopia. Chris increased my knowledge of coffee bean roasting by 100% (since I knew absolutely nothing about it when I walked through his door) as "we" roasted a batch of beans "together." Our assigned roles consisted of him doing all the work and me sniffing the beans mid-roast and drinking as much of his coffee as I could while I was there. I was intrigued by how much science is involved as I watched him make adjustments during the roasting process on his computer screen while explaining how the endothermic nature of the beans require certain adjustments at key intervals. The beans actually crack open twice during the 12-15 minute roasting process as the water contained within them evaporates. Constant monitoring is required as allowing the beans to roast for 18 minutes results in them baking (instead of roasting) and allowing them to reach a temperature of 460 degrees risks them bursting into flames. Chris offered some great advice for us mere coffee consuming mortals including: *To experience the most your beans have to offer you'll want purchase them within a week of their roasting and within 6 months of their harvesting. *Storing your beans in the freezer does slow the aging process, but not dramatically. Names are important here so get them right! "Little Red" is the name of their first roaster, "Vigilante" is the maiden name of Chris' mother (and not a call to organize to suppress and punish crime), and their "Tin Lizzie" beans are not a veiled reference to a rock band (but an homage to the old garage where Model T's were once repaired and later the site of their initial roasting efforts). If you're experiencing a little FOMO and wish you could learn more about coffee bean roasting you should try one of their free tastings each Friday at 11:00 (no appointments necessary). And that's...Henry's Take. #sandiegocoffeeroasting #vigilantecoffee

Yelp
The big sign caught my eye driving thru South O. I needed a place to get a drink before heading to a car appointment. I don't know what used to be here before but the coffee shop is huge! The inside was huge. I get my usual. Chai latte sub oat milk. It was good, more on the spicy creamy side. Definitely one of the better chai. Only 2 baristas working but drink was made fast!
google avatar

Lizette ..

Yelp
Great and friendly service. Was disappointed in how late they opened. Nice atmosphere. Tried an almond croissant and hot latte, both were pretty tasty. I would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Diana Leticia R.

Yelp
Very calming environment. I saw a lot of movement in this cafe. People seem to go for homework or work purposes as I seen many with laptops. There was also a a group of people coming from waking their dogs which was very pleasant to see Food was good. They're peanut butter acai bowl was delicias 10/10 and so was their hot chai tea

Haley K.

Yelp
We love this coffee shop. The staff is always so nice when I come in. They even had a treat jar for the fur babies. Odin approves!
google avatar

L S.

Yelp
Awesome spot! I would visit before work and they are quick and nice! Good vibes all around
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
My first visit was on a late Saturday morning, which ended up being the perfect time to experience Vigilante. The vibe was strong, live music happening, and it was just the perfect indoor/outdoor café for a weekend coffee. The coffee itself was tasty! They have lots of merch to browse while you wait for your drink as well. Picked up a biscotti for my baby, which he loved. Will be back!
google avatar

Courtney W.

Yelp
10/10 service, drinks, and pastries I would definitely come here again. I ordered their vanilla latte and their ham and cheese croissant and it was everything I needed that morning. Their vanilla latte has just the perfect amount of syrup in it and their ham and cheese croissant was so tasty. I ordered my items to-go and was probably in and out in 10 minutes. I will definitely be coming back, it seems like a good shop to get some work done at.
google avatar

Gmoney G.

Yelp
um nope. i was excited to come cuz this place has good reviews. first off they have no almond milk. what kinda coffee place doesnt have almond milk?! i get an iced vanilla late. my drink is super watered down. i get soy milk. they only have oat milk and soy. tastes like dirty pOOp water. i wont be back. plus their straw is like paper or sonething
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
LOVE the ambiance. Large open space to catch up or do work. Not only the space is great but the coffee is spectacular. We always get the iced vanilla latte and some sort of pastry. It's our go to place for coffee!
google avatar

James V.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop in Oceanside! The unique exterior design definitely caught our eyes when strolling through the neighborhood. I had a chill day ahead and didn't want to get jacked up on caffeine but opted for their peanut butter acai bowl which featured granola, banana, and apple. Delicious AND aesthetic. My friends enjoyed their beverages, which I'll definitely have to try next time. There's a solid sized parking lot. The interior featured massive ceilings. Very airy and spacious. A cool cafe for sure.
