Best Date-Night Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"This bar in Crestview has almost 200 board games and card games to choose from (those come with a $7 cover charge or $6 with the order of an entree). If that many options feels overwhelming, don’t worry — the pub’s game masters can help. The cocktail menu includes some THC options, and the menu is standard fare, like burgers and sandwiches. All the gameplay takes place inside at the long tables or spacious booths, so there’s plenty of room to invite friends along." - Erin Russell

Best Mocktails in Austin Bars and Restaurants | Eater Austin

"This board game gastropub is known for its cocktails, but it also has a respectable mocktail menu, with offerings like the Bird of Paradise, made with a non-alcoholic spirit, pomegranate, lime juice, and agave, all shaken with sage ice cubes. Or, the appropriately nerdily-named Why’s the Rum Gone, also infused with a non-alcoholic spirit, brown sugar cinnamon simple syrup, lemon citrus, and pomegranate syrup. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Erin Russell

I really hope they see this and tell Ella she was amazing. If you go in I hope you get Ella as a server and Cody as a GM! They were both amazing and Ella was super kind and relatable. On top of that the atmosphere is 10/10 with great supplication. Hard time picking games because of their selection (such a variety!) but if you can’t pick the game master will help you out with suggestions! Food was good too and we never struggled to play and have food on the table (just enough space). I hope to come back for the secret room one day, it looked awesome! Overall amazing experience and would love to come to an event someday or participate in a DND session (I’ve always wanted to)!

Google
Cool place with good food and drinks, games at your table, 2 hidden rooms, one is decked out for D&D, mango dessert place is right nearby too. Definitely will be back.

Google
Food was really good, excellent service, we had a great time playing board games. Drinks 🍸 were just okay. I really hope they can add Angel's Envy Whiskey to their adult beverages menu. A big thanks to all the friendly staff members.

Google
ADA wheelchair accessible but the hostess was a bit clueless when I tired to explain that I needed a low chair waiting for a table cause my disability doesn't make it possible to get on a hightop or the bar....then when the vip table left early she tried to sell us the room for $65.00. We passed...the servers were friendly and diligent . Some drinks could not be made due to some heater not working( which was one of the favorite drinks so 3 stars on bar) . Ordered French fries...they we're crunchy and delicious (5 stars on kitchen) Our gaming friends and I had fun (5 stars friends plus atmosphere)...$7.00 a head plus renting the games makes it very pricey...( 0 stars for price points) open til 11pm. No fur babies allow. Very bougie but not in a good way....my review is go a couple miles down to Emerald Tavern...more booze, games and food.

Google
What a gem. Great cocktails, generous draft selection, and great variety of eats. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Didn't realize the games part until we got there, fun addition. The food came quick, was fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely coming back!

Google
How have I not reviewed my favorite place yet???? If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Been coming to vigilante weekly for their D&D nights for the past 2 years. Every week it's a delight. The staff is extremely friendly, the community is fantastic, and the atmosphere (especially in their secret rooms) is amazing. The food is delicious! My only complaint is that the portion sizes are slightly small, but it's yummy enough to balance it all out. They also have a very creative menu and always are experimenting on new ideas and seasonal dishes. Would definitely recommend eating here.

Google
Fun spot for games and drinks! Food was just okay. The staff is so friendly and the process of getting a game was seamless. Great vibe too!

Google
Good place for a party or special outing! Wouldn't recommend for those on a budget, as the prices can add up quite a bit with many orders. However, this establishment is of course, less of a restaurant and more of a novelty establishment. It has lovely wooden furniture and a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf. One gripe I have about this place is that all the games we played were in DISGUSTING condition, the cards were all sticky and well worn, and often dealing was difficult on account of the cards being stuck to each other. It felt highly unsanitary touching the cards and eating our finger food at the same time. That did not stop my group from having fun, and we had tons of it too, it's just something I wish they could restock on in better quality. I do love that it's an LGBT friendly space though, and the bathrooms are labeled by whether they have stalls or urinals rather than any gender binary or non binary. I'm was surprised that they had mints and dental floss in the bathroom too.

Yelp
Set at the bar Friday night, easy to grab a seat and grab a quick bite to eat. The prices are really fair. I would recommend the Chicken Caesar at $12 its a great deal. The bartenders were quick to serve us and teach us about the 200+ board games they offer to play while you are there. There are a lot of tables as well as bar

Yelp
Vigilante is a great place to nerd out with friends or family. The exterior of the establishment makes it blend right in with other shops in the area, but the interior is reminiscent of an old time tavern complete with wooden tables and lanterns to accompany them. I ordered a burger and seasoned fries that hit the spot. When you're seated the employees bring you a food menu and an entertainment menu with card/board games for groups of all sizes. You pick the game and food and they bring them out to you at the table. My crew ordered games we had never heard of from the menu and had a great time, and there were many tables who were there to play D&D and had their own set. At the bar there were a couple of people playing Super Smash Bros on Nintendo Switch. I felt right at home as I could tell this place is a safe space for gamers of any type. Drinks were about $5-$10 depending on your order, they have specialty themed cocktails, craft beer, and your normal drink choices. Food was about the same, the entrees were about $10-$15 and they offered enough variety that everyone should be able to find a bite they really enjoy.

Yelp
What a fun time! Solid food, a great selection of games, and helpful staff. I enjoyed my mushroom burger, and the fries + fried pickles were good too. I sort of wish I got the caesar salad since I felt bogged down the rest of the night from the heavy food. Not their fault though! We played a few really fun games that I hadn't heard of before, and the staff were very helpful when explaining how to play. Great date or hangout spot!

Yelp
I hadn't been here since pre-COVID times, but I was glad to see so many of my favorite things still there. The food was good even though I missed the slider options from before. Our server and the game master were both very helpful. It was easy to make a reservation. We had to park in the garage but Vigilante will validate for you. I love the casual ambiance as it contributes to a fun night of gaming with friends.

Yelp
I love this place! Great game selections, nice handy dandy tools to help with gaming (card holders, cup holders off table etc), impeccable vibes. Fantastic for duos or groups of all sizes. The fries SLAP. I wasn't expecting the food to be so good, but it was good. Some minor gripes is that it can take a while for game masters to come and explain the game if they're backed up but we make do.

Yelp
What an awesome concept! Came here got husbands 34th bday. Part of 5. Rented the table for 2.5 hrs - which was definitely not long enough, I think next time we'll do 3 or 4 hrs! Parking was pretty easy at the parking garage, and vigilante validates parking for up to 4 hours so that's awesome too. The food is kind of like small bites, so we ordered a few things here and there. Tab was actually lower than we thought it be! The alcoholic (or even the virgin cocktails) is where they get you in terms of price. From what I ended up eating, I'd give the food a 3.9/5. We brought our own games but also "checked out" one of theirs. We had such a blast, and definitely see ourselves returning!
google avatar

Surge C.

Yelp
Such a fun spot to grab drinks and bites, and also play some games you've never heard of! They have plenty of non-alcoholic options, in addition to their tasty cocktails, which was nice. The game masters are impressive with their knowledge and ability to explain such complex games to novice players like myself. My friends and I had so much fun playing different games while nibbling on some of their appetizers.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Big fan of the service and games. For $5 unlimited game play, it's a hell of a good time. The finger foods are good and not too distracting from the game at hand. I'd recommend any of the foods/drinks, but I'd be remiss if I didn't encourage you to check out "awkward guests or coup" Side note: parking garage charges you after 2 hours Cheers!

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations! I thought the dark atmosphere would kill the vibes if I wasn't playing dungeons and dragons but I was gladly mistaken. We played fun casual games with mocktails in hand and it was perfect. I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was better than just expected. Nothing 5 star but definitely creative and not your average bar food. Everything on the menu has a fun name and is made with a twist! We ordered - "never let you gyoza" 9/10 wanted to order more' "hummucide" (5/10) nothing special but refreshing "brussel crow" (4/10) spicy and overdressed but has potential "spot the pretz" (5/10) not the average softness of pretzel but cheese was good "grilled cheese incident" (7/10) nice spin on a classic "hen and teller" (8/10) hit the spot "chocolate chip cookies" I mean you can't go wrong with this As for the service - they were so attentive and friendly! The tables are really thought out- with service buttons and extensions built on to hold you drinks and phones so you don't clutter the table & have space for the games! Along with the food coming spaced out and on small dishes to minimize the clutter too! Well done Vigilante! Seamless!!

Yelp
Disastrous visit to this place with poor food and worse service. We tried several sides as apps and ordered different sandwiches. All were not good. For the sides they were all fried even stuff like pretzel bites. Anything that we tried to sub or special order food or drinks was cut off with a poor explanation. Lastly, we ordered games 2x and never got them. Ordered our last drinks 3x and never got them.

Yelp
A very fun experience. There are over 200 games you can choose and they will teach you anything. We were introduced to 2 which looked fairly easy based and the drawings on the box, but we're quite strategic in nature. One was called "boop" and the other was called, " battle sheep". -our server, Kenzie introduced both, and we were taught by our game master. I can't remember his name, but he was very passionate about the games, explained them patiently and had the coolest pair of hexagonal glasses!! The food was also pretty good. Lots of tasty little sandwiches and nibbles. They come out hot and taste fantastic. We tried four different cocktails and by the way, each of those were great too. We will definitely be back. Super fun experience and the staff is very friendly.

Yelp
I love this place. I came here for my birthday and my group and I had a great time. The concept is great where you get a separate menu for all the games present, as well as a regular menu for drinks and food (which are quite affordable). Be sure to get a reservation ahead of time because when we went in it was crazy busy. I honestly recommend and really want to go back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is fantastic. The gaming is clearly a major appeal for their customers, but let me tell you, the food is no afterthought. The burgers were very, very good. The Brussel Crowe (everything has a cutesy name) was among the tastiest brussel sprouts I have had lately and the Jason Samosas were also delicious. A great drink selection and the variety of games they have is impressive. The service was excellent.

Yelp
A friend invited me to Vigilante and I said yes without knowing what it was. I'm so glad they did because I had no idea this existed, and even if I did, I'm certain that I would not have tried to come out on my own. I've since been back and I have sing some praises. First! Book a reservation. While it isn't necessary, it makes for easier seating and less waiting; this spot gets packed. Second, ambiance is amazing. The vibes are consistently immaculate, it gets loud in there, but I've yet to be overwhelmed. Third, no matter what the service is stellar. It's great because you have to actively request a server to come to your table for food, drinks, games or even a game master. But even without request they stay on top of your drink levels. I never once wondered if anyone was going to refill my water. Fourth, the food is so good! It's not 5 star meal, think quality casual fair that isn't going to get your hands too dirty while you shuffle cards. The drinks are delicious, there are many more I want to return to try. Fifth, the games are fun! I know you'd think that be higher, but really fun games are kind of a given if you're a gaming bar. It's the main reason you go, but everything else has been so good that it's really an after thought. I think we would have had a good time even if the games we picked were boring. They have plenty of co-op games available which is great for my non-competitive self. I'll be back some time this year.

Yelp
Came here with some friends for the first time. We played a few games and had some drinks and food. First off the food were perfectly snack size portions. Drinks were good and the game selection was fun. Definitely recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm updating my review to highlight some new menu items they're testing - the fried green beans (awesome) and the onion rings (slightly better than your average bar onion rings). Great additions! They're $5 each at the time of writing.
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a fun place to come with a group of friends!! They have a huge selection of different types of games to play. The drinks are fun and creative!! The food is extremely good and not overpriced!!

Yelp
This place is so much fun! We went for my friend's birthday and we're in the wizard room that was hidden behind a bookshelf. It had a large table that for the 10 of us snuggly and there is a button on the table to call over the servers, which was very convenient! The servers were very nice and responsive if we needed them. I was a little skeptical about the door at first, but it was great! I got the Thai Fighter sandwich which was crispy, spicy and just over all delicious. The sandwiches may appear on the smaller size, but it was very filling! The menu also includes many of their games and I like how they categorize them because it can be difficult to choose from many games you've never heard of before. Overall, we had a great time and I can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Wandered in accidentally last night (a Sunday). Planned to go for Chinese, but the place was packed and there was a wait I was not interested in, so I poked my head in to see what it was. Oh, my, goodness...this place looks like a restaurant designed for my own personal paradise. All kinds of games all over the place as decor and for use by customers. Over 200 games in boxes on shelves, private rooms available (according the bartender Jesse), and super fun nerdy menu items. The menu itself is an homage to gaming, as it is one page of food and three pages of games that they bring to you. The only thing that makes me sad is that I wandered in alone! I got the cod sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts, both of which have the tendency to be greasy at some places. Not here...the cod was crispy perfection, and nice and light on the inside, with a terrific spicy remoulade and a fresh slaw to cut through all the potential heaviness. It was awesome. Brussels were delicious, too, and Jesse and the manager (I think her name is Max) were friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. They even sold me a little trinket that was not technically for sale (I won't write about it specifically in case they don't want to do that again), which I now have proudly on display in my home. I cannot wait to return with friends so I can take advantage of all the games.

Yelp
Moving up to 5 stars. We had amazing service yesterday with Taelor and will 10000% be back. Best thing on the menu so far is the Thai fighter, but I am working my way through it all and will report back ;)

Yelp
The Good: :: it's a local business! :: great vibe for those who love food and board games :: very affordable fees per person for games :: very affordable rates for the 2 private game rooms :: private game rooms are great--hidden behind bookcases, they offer more privacy while still giving you access to all the games, food and drinks service you get in the main space. additionally, you have access to a Bluetooth-ready boombox that lets you set more of the vibe you want with your group :: huge catalog of games :: great pub-style food that's easy to share and easy to eat while you are playing games :: they have game experts who can tell you about the different games they offer in their catalog--lean on them and trust them to not lead you astray! just be clear about what you are looking for and they will give recommendations accordingly :: at the bar, there is the ability to play some video games for free (e.g., Ninja Turtles) :: very friendly service The Bad: :: can get very busy on popular nights--just plan ahead and make reservations The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Absolutely! It's my new favorite place to go for board games, food, and a fun, easy vibe. This place is IN.

Yelp
If you're looking to grab some drinks, food, play board games, and hangout with your friends, this is a great spot for all that. Service: everyone working there is super friendly and on top of the service game. They do have a game expert that can show you how to play any board game or answer any questions you may have about a game. Games: They have a large collection of games you can pick from. It costs $5 per person or if you go the first or fourth Tuesday of the month, games are free. Drinks: drinks are pretty good. They don't have a huge selection tho. Food: quality of the food is great and everything tastes pretty good. My only con with the food is the price. Everything is a bit overpriced for the amount that you get. The shareables are too small to share and even the entrees aren't big enough. When you look at the menu, just think of it as finger food or a light snack. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
Vigilante is a fantastic place for any lover of board games, great food with fun puns, and delicious speciality cocktails. The atmosphere is "nerdy board game heaven" and the service is impeccable. Don't know why board game to play? Ask the Game Master for recommendations AND how to teach your party how to play the game. Such a fun place to spend a couple of hours.
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Super fun place to hit up with friends! Love the theme and the vibe of the place. Lots of games to choose from! I would highly recommend reserving the Wizard room if you have a larger group. It's bigger behind a bookcase which is so fun. Plus it's so much quieter inside as it gets pretty loud outside. I ordered the Brussels Crow. They were really salty, wouldn't get again. Great place to check out though!
google avatar

Zhao C.

Yelp
This place is by far one of my favorites places to take friends to! They offer all sorts of board and strategy games (e.g. What Do You Meme, Sushi Go, Settlers of Catan) and even a kitchen that offers small plates/appetizers and cocktails! I ordered the "Hen and Teller" and it was delicious -- not too greasy and just the right amount of butter on the Texas Toast :) If you like playing or even learning new games, you need to check this cafe out!
google avatar

Yelp
On vacation with our two kids in Austin, we wanted to have a good game night, so we came here. Great environment, fun games , ok drinks (the alcohol drinks were missing alcohol), not the greatest food (very small portions), but we had a blast. All the employees were excellent. They would explain any game you needed explaining, and then set you free. We spent over $200 in food and drinks, and at the end of the night, we were still hungry and no where near buzzed. But the games were a blast. We will be back.
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Amazing games, great staff, and fantastic vibes. We were able to book a BOOKCASE ROOM which is in itself cool. Ordering menu items in 3's gets you a discount and you can stagger or have all items come out at once. The quality of the food and drinks are great and the portions are good enough to try multiple items. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try new games and not having to buy them!
google avatar

Jan G.

Yelp
I'm twice as old as the standard patron at Vigilante. My son is half as old. Both of us had a great time playing board games and eating snacks, and neither of us felt out of place. Great service.
google avatar

Becca D.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest places I've ever been to and I'm surprised I haven't found more of these around the country. When my friends said "board game bar" I thought the typical experience where they have a stack of board games missing pieces and you pick and play what you want. Wow was I wrong and in for a real treat! I absolutely LOVED this concept! They had different game menus based on the amount of people you had in your group, and the games were grouped into different categories so while they had a ton of game options, it made choosing ones to play much easier. All the staff we interacted with were very helpful in explaining how everything worked and getting us anything we needed. The food and drink menu were great too, and they had a special going on for ordering a few different items. They were all smaller size which ended up being great for us because none of us were starving or looking for a full meal. This allowed us to share a few different items. I also really liked that service was more hands off and they had a button you could press if you needed anything. It allowed us to play our game uninterrupted and get service when we needed it. This place was very large and looked like they had some hidden rooms in the back for larger groups too! Really just a neat concept! I'm not super into board games but this place made it SO approachable with such a variety of options and helpful staff. Wish we had a place like this in my city!
google avatar

Jerry D.

Yelp
Love this spot. This is great place to go if you're a board game lover, they have hundreds of games you can choose from to play. Great spot hang out with friends for game night. There's accommodations for small intimate parties or larger groups. Full bar and kitchen for food. The staff is very friendly and they have a game master available that comes around and teaches you the rules of the games if you need any clarification. Only con is the price for food. They're serving size / portion is very small. Think of their serving size as finger food for one person to snack on while you play your games. I would even include their "shareables" as enough food for one. That makes their pricing is a little on the higher end in comparison to other similar places. That being said, all the food items I've ordered were delicious.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
We've been here twice pre-covid. I'm not sure what it looks like during the pandemic. Great food, lots of board game options. I wish there were more 2 player options. I like how the game menu is categorized.
google avatar

Sana A.

Yelp
This is no ordinary board game cafe, it's a FANCY board game cafe. Prices for entry aren't crazy and while the food is a lil expensive it's okay because the vibes are immaculate. A cool harry potter themed table sign, long list of games IN A MENU, a tastefully decorated space, good music and yeah it has rusty board games like every other cafe, but these ones are kept in cool drawers/wooden boxes. It definitely gets filled up so you need a reservation. Parking is easy and I'll definitely return!
google avatar

Kaeleigh S.

Yelp
This place is such a cool concept with good food and drinks but the service was such a bummer. We had come here for our friends' bachelor and bachelorette weekend, as a part of a scavenger hunt we planned. We had reached out ahead of time to make sure it'd be okay and get two large tables reserved, and had to pay a large party fee. The night of, while the men and women were competing to complete puzzles that gave them their next clue, they never got to finish because they booked someone two hours after us and made us leave. The servers themselves generally were brash and seemed very annoyed - which didn't feel fair given we were a totally respectful group and the other places we went gave us amazing service, above and beyond. I think if we planned something like that again, we would definitely not come here.
google avatar

Kris T.

Yelp
For the second time, I've visited this outstanding board game bar, and both times I was blown away by the service and menu. Everything screams fun night out, and is exactly the sort of vibe I strive for when we do game night at my house. My only complaint would be the prices for their food, as the servings are on the small side, but they are delicious enough to forgive. The menu is always full of little geeky jokes and the first game both times has been trying to figure out all the references. If you are in Austin, want to play some board games, and don't want to have to worry about cleaning up afterwards, this is the place to go.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Been here a handful of times for board games nights and always had very positive experiences! They have a solid library of games, along with super friendly and helpful staff. The space isn't nearly as big as other similar spots nearby, but they really make the most of it. On weekends they get pretty busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation I really appreciate the way they layout the games on their menu. They have them setup by type of game and provide a basic synopsis, the number of players it works for, and how difficult it is to learn. What really sets this place apart is the assistance from the game masters. They have staff walking around looking to help people learn any games they're having trouble with, so don't be afraid to try something new and seek out their help! They have a sizable food and drink menu with enough options to keep you reasonably satisfied, but at the end of the day you're not coming here for the food options.
google avatar

Spring L.

Yelp
Such a awesome concept and vibe. Luxurious purple drapes, custom tables with a button service call and beautifully decorated bathrooms shows that the owner has great attention to detail and cares about his customers. The games menus are also well categorized and written to fit your player count and let's you pick games based on how much time or effort you want to spend learning a new one. One of the most creative bars I've had the pleasure of patronizing.
google avatar

Aaron W.

Yelp
Every time I visit Austin we come by this place to play games and chill out playing games. Food is great, and for drinkers they have all the staples. Atmosphere is fun, but not too sweaty. If you know, you know.

Chris M.

Yelp
Vigilante is one of the best bars in Austin no question! Board games are surprisingly clean, the food is AMAZING (frankly their brussels sprouts beat out East Side King), and drinks are so good. If you'd like to live nearby, I would highly recommend you AVOID Midtown Commons as you'll certainly regret that decision though.

Yelp
Solid place for a drunken game night with friends while still getting out and feeling social on a weekend night. It was my first visit and my initial impressions were all positive -- good aesthetic, staff was very friendly, food was actually solid and tasty. Food prices were decent, for drinks I'd maybe pregame my next visit to save some. Ended up being about $55 a person total to be fed and solidly tipsy. They try to be accommodating of food allergies and are knowledgeable. The kitchen is not actually celiac safe for people avoiding gluten -- I did actually get glutened but was also warned. My partner also got a weirdly raw chicken sandwich which they quickly replaced, but yeah it was literally like not cooked at all. I have a picture but it's pretty gross so I just won't post it lol Overall positive experience, might be back. Wish they took the precautions to be celiac-friendly when they're almost there.

Yelp
Really fun board game bar! It was only $5 to play games, although drinks were pricey. We played the game "PARKS" for two hours, which I highly recommend. This bar was a lot fancier than I expected, and the bathrooms were really nice.

Yelp
We had a ton of fun! We sat at a high top table and that was really the only issue we had (we are all tiny short folks). We played two games and had lots of food. Everything was so fun and the staff was really helpful, fun, and nice.

Yelp
Went with two friends and really had a great time. Alex (the manager for last night) did a wonderful job orienting us to the games, made sure we got our food (which was tasty) and just kept an eye on us as newbies, that we were having fun. We'll be back!

Yelp
We've been coming here for over 2 years and it still continues to be our favorite place to go over the weekend. The food is amazing, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Despite the game master not being familiar with a specific game he offered to go in the back to watch a video to explain it to us. Whether you're new to board games or already into the hobby, it's a great place to experiment with new games and find favorites to add to your personal collection! (Highly recommend playing Dragoon)

Yelp
This place is so fun! We stopped in because we had time to kill before the next train came and what a mistake not leaving ourselves more time! On a Friday night the place was busy. Nearly every table was full of people playing board games. We sat at the bar to have a quick drink and ended up racing each other in Mario Kart. It was a ton of fun and a surprising stop in our evening. I definitely recommend checking this place out. I know I'll be back to spend more time checking out the rest of the games.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the concept when I heard about this board game bar for the first time! They provide you a menu with a huge variety of different games. The workers there were incredibly helpful in recommending and explaining games. I was so impressed by their knowledge and how well they were able to go over game rules so we all knew how to play. We ended up playing Secret Hitler and Red Flags (which is similar to Cards Against Humanity but focused on dating). You can play as many games as you want here, all for the charge of $5. There are also a bunch of food and drink options you can order! Currently, because of Covid, they only seat outdoors which is unfortunate because there are really only three tables. Make sure you place a reservation at least four hours in advance! The tables had heating poles next to them so at least it wasn't too cold. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this place for an outing with friends or family!

Yelp
For NYE we rented the wizard private room and spent hours eating, drinking, and playing games. The room really made our night special with the insanely detailed decor, Bluetooth speaker to customize the gaming vibe, and remote controlled fan for comfort. The waitresses were also so kind and we all felt right at home. We ordered almost every drink and small plate on the menu. I recommend ordering an old fashioned and the dumplings - the sauce was so good! In the main area, they had a nerf gun war planned to end NYE along with a champagne toast. Everything they do is well thought out - definitely give it a try!

Yelp
It's different from other board game cafes I've been to; first the whole inside ambiance is very rustic with dim lighting giving it a very nice cozy feeling. Next each table has a little bell you can call a server which is nice especially if you are in the middle of a game and you don't want to be distracted trying to flag down a server. When you book a reservation they need the number of guests because they have a special menu for games that cater to a certain number of players which I think is an amazing and smart idea. They also have a game master available if you have any questions, but the servers were also very knowledgable with gameplay. The games all have a wooden box container to make give it a fine wine kind of vibe which I thought was cute and quirky. The reason I had to knock off a star is due to the food ordering. So they have a deal of ordering 3 dishes and you get $3 off. You think simple right? No, there is no writing on the menu or explanation from the staff that you MUST tell the server that you are doing this deal which I think is silly needing to DECLARE it and the next is you have to order to the multiples of 3 dishes all in one go. Besides that annoyance, I think overall the food was inexpensive and delicious. I like that it comes in smaller portions so you try a little bit of everything. I had the mushroom kingdom burger, fries, pretzel bites, and cookies (remember to order at least 20 minutes before leaving since it takes time to bake). All the drinks were good like the boozy milkshakes and fyi if you want a cute instagram photo get the rainbow road.

Yelp
Amazing little board game bar with good small plates to boot. I've been here twice and it is always a good time. You rent a table for $10 and you get to play any board game on the menu. They even have game masters who help you out with the rules and suggest games based on what you are in the mood for.

Yelp
Yes yes yes!!!!! This place is so much fun! Such an upgrade for typical "dinner". Also a great place for a first date! If you want to have an experience with dinner, this is it! We loved: - the game master!! Omg so cool, and he was amazing!!! - the portions of food. Perfect for playing games - the way you flag your server down- just hit the button and they'll arrive. If not, they just leave you alone. - the grilled cheese, nuggets, hummus, burgers, and fries were yummy -so many games!!!! -that you could ask the game master or server for game suggestions. We attempted to try as many new games as we could in our two hour window. It was a blast I highly recommend making a reservation.
