Food is great, and the people working there are so friendly and helpful. Great frozen dinners to take home and heat! The eggplant parmigiana is wonderful!

I was excited about trying this place out since I just got braces and needed something soft and easy to eat. The service was quick and pleasant. The place is nice and small, very cozy. My only concern was the amount of grease my food had. By the photos, you'll understand. I think this amounted to a tiny cup of grease. I'll make this short...it wasn't the best meal ever.

Google
My new favorite lunch spot. They have an assortment of $10 sandwiches, I've had the porchetta, meatball, and pesto chicken so far. All were excellent, super fresh and flavorful. The people inside are also very kind. This place is a real gem. Food is also ready super fast.

Google
I ordered the lasagna and the portion was big, but the dish itself was just average, more like a very salty tomato soup than a proper lasagna. Also, I paid for cannelloni, but it wasn’t packed with my order.

Tucked away in Rockville/ North Bethesda. I went to take some donations to Good Will and stumbled upon this gem. The spot is small but the food is excellent! Vignola has a wide selection of made-to-order food and take-and-bake. They also have a fun selection of snacks and beverages. I ordered the porchetta sandwich. It was big enough to have two meals. The porchetta was not what I’m traditionally used to. Rather than thick round slices, the meat was shredded. It was so moist and flavorful. I also bought cannoli that my son and I split. Cannolis are traditional ricotta filling. Delicious and not too sweet. Give this place a try!

Google
This is a tiny hidden gem. Excellent prepared foods to reheat at your convenience plus a serving hot food bar with plenty of delicious food options. Also a good variety (small) of quality Italian ingredients. They cater for large events too. High quality!

Google
I have only shopped in the little front market, I have yet to try anything hot from here - so that’s a to do. The frozen vegetable lasagna is so so good, I crave it regularly and try to keep one in my freezer for official lasagna emergencies. Nonna would approve. I’m also very thankful they stock some digestives from Italy which I love to take home and have with espresso.

Google
Delicious, comforting, South-Italian food. Fair prices and generous portions. Outstanding customer service! I have tried almost everything from their menu, my favorites are the free form lasagna, the pasta with pesto, and the turkey and cranberry sandwich. This is my go-to when I’m not in the mood for cooking or when I have guests at home. The only thing that I don’t like is their odd hours of operation but other than that this is a hidden gem where I love to go! 100% recommended. I don’t have pictures because since everything is to go, the pictures won’t make the food justice!

Yelp
Best lasagna ever! Brought home the most delicious frozen meal that feeds 4. Will stock up. Bought the family meal of eggplant parmigiana, roasted vegetables and cheesy bread for friends and they loved it. Family meal is huge. Excellent food.

Yelp
Their frozen foods are great! You just heat them up in the oven. I love the chicken Parmesan. I recently purchased the ziti and I don't recommend it. The sauce was lacking tomato flavor. I feel like they water downed the pasta sauce. The porchetta sandwich is delicious. I just wish they add a little more vegetables.

Yelp
Update to previous review. I recommended Vignolia to my daughter's school, when the previous lunch services discontinued their services. Not saying that the school's decision was based solely on my recommendation. But nevertheless, Vignola got the contract and seemed super happy to have the business. I had a question on what happens when the kids have a snow day. Not only did they not credit my account, but they completely ignored my email. Most importantly, my daughter reported that the lunches were actually hot the first week. After that, lunches that were supposed to be hot, were served cold. Initially, I was excited to have a new place, with new menu options. Gave this place a few months, before I decided to discontinue ordering hot lunches that were always cold. Disappointed in Vignola school lunches, stopped ordering school lunches from them.

Mi L.

Yelp
They charged me a $10 enrollment fee for my child's lunch program. The lunch program was cancelled. I have attempted to reach out to Vignola Gourmet to see if I can get a refund. All emails and phones calls have been ignored. I was informed by the school that they were kind of shady. I did not believe them. Now I do. They are indeed a shady business. Do not order from them, especially signing up for a school lunch program.

Yelp
This is not a restaurant, you call ahead or show up and order stuff from the various freezers they have. You're going to need to take it elsewhere to eat it. PROS - Even just the pasta sauce is worth the drive. Especially happy with their pesto. - All the food options have been good, this is our go-to Italian food place. CONS - Coffee options are fairly limited, which frustrated me as a fan of Italian food but I can see that being kind of a pain to setup and maintain so it's still 5 stars. - When the place fills up with people and it certainly can because it's increasingly popular, the small room where they operate can get crowded.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Eggplant Parmesan I have ever had in my life! Everything this freshly made from scratch. I've tried and recommend the eggplant parmesan, manicotti and chicken fettuccine with Alfredo sauce. I can't wait to try everything on the menu.

Yelp
Stopped here after being in the area and looking up places for a quick bite. I ordered a Cold cut, meatball sub and a House salad. They were all pretty good. Service was fast and friendly. It's a small place with a few benches outside. They also do family style to go orders on certain days. I went on the weekend and just needed quick lunch items. But the menu looked pretty good for the offerings.

Kyle R.

Yelp
I've been trying to go to this establishment for months but their hours were limiting. However they recently changed their hours and I was able to get there in time. I ordered the "free form lasagne" and the "fettuccini pescatore" and my partner and I were amazed. We've tried almost all the restaurants in the area serving pasta dishes in the area. We have our favorites but thought it couldn't get better. Somehow they beat them all, the sauce for the lasagne was so fresh and delicious and the shrimp with the polo for sauce that is in the fettuccini dish was creamy and very delicious. Honestly I can't do anything but rate this meal a 9.3/10. The food was hot and extremely delicious, I'm very happy they are open longer so I can enjoy it. I would add pictures but the food has already been halfway eaten because it was so good.

Pam G.

Yelp
We had the roasted veg sub and pork sub. Both are exceptional! And we always buy the frozen meals. We've never been disappointed. They are a good value and tasty. For my husband and me, they are two meals worth. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food is outstanding, particularly the tomato soup!! I use a lot of the frozen dinners for us and for company

Yelp
Visited Vignola for lunch and appreciated the kind folks who took our orders and offered suggestions. If you like a more crispy/crunchy bread, the "hard bread" is your choice. Some breads at other restaurants can be so hard that they hurt your mouth, but the hard bread here was just crispy the way I like it. I'll try the soft bread next time and also learn what the proper names are. Vignola is in a very quiet area, perhaps more so due to the pandemic, but there really wasn't any attention to the other nearby establishments. Seemed like Vignola was the only one with people going in and out

Bill Z.

Yelp
Excellent sandwiches and take out pastas. Lots of frozen entrees: chicken parm and spinach cannelloni recommended. Two picnic tables outside for fair weather dining.

Yelp
Delicious, comforting, South-Italian food, fair prices, and outstanding customer service! I love coming to this little hidden gem!

Yelp
Anyone who has spent time in Italy knows the painful truth: the pasta you usually eat sucks. Okay, it's actually delicious, but it pales in comparison to the fresh pasta that is on offer at almost every restaurant you stumble into across that food paradise. Vignola Gourmet gives you a little taste of real Italy by making things in-house and fresh. On this visit I tried the fettuccine with spicy arrabiata sauce and Italian sausage, all of which, including the sausage, were made in-house. I can only describe the noodles as light and delicate, in the very best sense of both words. The sauce was also excellent and I was pleasantly surprised that the homemade sausage, which I ordered as an add-on, was ground and incorporated into the sauce. I like that they sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top without even asking and only wish I had more. It was also served with three slices of bread to sop up the extra arrabiata sauce (saved me from licking the bowl). The salad was fairly basic but gets above average marks for the really nice creamy balsamic on top. I had wanted to try the arancini (great pictures of this on Yelp, people) on the side, but they only serve it as an entree for $8.50. I'll be back for that without a doubt. Vignola staff was really helpful walking me through the menu my first time through. I appreciated learning that the fettuccine, pappardelle, and spaghetti are the only pastas made in-house, so start with one of those before sampling the penne or gnocchi. And just know that this is predominantly a carryout restaurant. They do have one long table for people like me who just want to eat their weekday lunches anywhere but their offices.

Yelp
If you're looking for a limp lettuce salad that resembles your 100 year old great grandma's skin, you're in the wrong place. Or how about those yummy packaged salad dressings that are filled with preservatives, sugar, and soy bean oil...nope not here either. Stale bread and gross sandwiches, you are wayyy off base. This cute little take out place packs a lot of the punch. The salad was super fresh and simple ingredients. The ranch dressing was yummy enough to stick my finger in the container and get every last bit of it out. the sandwich had marinated roasted vegetables that were just a little crisp, but soft enough to make the bread and other ingredients melt together. It was filled with eggplant, zucchini, squash and onions, but apparently it changes depending on what ingredients are fresh. The pesto chicken sub was plentiful for meat and enough pesto to think you should add a few noodles and soak up the excess. I'm so satisfied and proud of myself for listening to yelp (yet again) and going off the beaten path to find this little gem. The staff are easy going and friendly and the food was dynamite!! I just left here 20 mins ago and I'm already calculating when I will return. If you want a super fantastic meal, come here. Lastly, they have a frozen food section. I bought the zucchini Parmesan since I had not seen that option at other Italian restaurants. I have yet to try it, but guessing by the salad and sandwiches it will be amazing too.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing!!!! I went to check it it after seeing it on yelp. I had already eaten lunch so I decided to get something to go. They have a freezer section where you can pick items to go. I purchased the eggplant Parmesan. I followed the instructions on the sticker included on the lid. 400 degrees for 45 minutes. When served it was soooo delicious. The parm is cut very thin and the sauce is very tasty. It's not just a marinara. But more of a pink sauce. I paid $12 for the tray. It served 6 reasonable size pieces. I had some for dinner and enough for tomorrow. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! I will be back soon.

Yelp
My friends catered from Vignola Gourmet for their New Year's eve party. They ordered a TON of food including a Caprese Salad, Spring Greens Salad, Arancini, Focaccia, Spinach Ricotta Lasagne, Alma's Eggplant Parmigiana, Creamy Pesto Pasta, Assorted bites, Mini Cannolis, and Tiramisu! It was a LOT but I definitely tried ALL of it (it was the holidays in my defense)! Everything was simply delicious, but I definitely had some favorites! Appetizer-wise, I really liked the Arancini! It was crisp on the outside and there was melted cheese on the inside! The Eggplant Parmigiana was also amazing! So much YUM! It was layers of eggplant, sauce and cheese and it was a hit with the group, people kept going back for more despite how full we all were! Lastly, I need to give a special shout out to the Tiramisu....it was simply delicious! I love a good Tiramisu and this one was worth it! Overall, the quality and taste of the food was great, I would highly recommend Vignola Gourmet if you are looking for solid Italian catering options! The other thing I will mention is that when the food arrived it was packed very well. A lot of the items could easily leak or spill, but they wrapped all the trays tightly and saran wrapped anything that could possibly spill. They also included clear and concise instructions on how to prepare all of the dishes (mainly what temp and for how long the dish should be in the oven). 5 Stars!

Yelp
I got the gnocchi rose with meatballs, and my husband got the lasagna. My gnocchi was excellent (way better and fresher than anything we've had in DC proper, at a much better price), but I'm honestly still mad at how good his lasagna was. The addition of the sausage flavor in the sauce was divine. It's my platonic ideal for lasagna now but we live so far from Vignola. Though that might be for the best since the portions were huge. We barely ate for the rest of the day. :)

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. They have delicious sandwiches, soup, and salads.....high quality ingredients at VERY reasonable prices. I think they make most of their money doing catering but they also sell to individuals one the side. They also have a take home business for busy professionals that want something they can quickly heat up to serve their families. Great little place!

Yelp
Vignola Gourmet continues to be an absolute gem, as you can see from the number of stars above. The sandwiches are excellent, and their house-made pasta is an absolute must. My go to (and vegetarian) picks have been their gnocchi bowl with pomodoro sauce and their penne with arrabiata, both with sautéed vegetables added. The gnocchi are excellent on their own but Vignola's pomodoro sauce is the best red sauce either of us have ever had, beyond incredible. The penne are always cooked to al dente perfection and the vegetables add a ton of fresh, light flavors (especially once they soak up the sauce). Don't skip the sides, either - the marinated mushrooms, olives, and bean salad are all super flavorful and fresh, and their tortellini salad is get-every-one-they-have-in-the-fridge (unless I'm showing up later that day) delicious. Super fast service, too - I usually call in an order when I'm like five minutes away and it's always ready when I walk in. Thanks again to Yelpers for helping us find this place years ago - it's been a favorite ever since!

Yelp
Wonderful spot for handmade pastas! I found this place by seeing such high reviews on yelp and I am so glad that I did! My boyfriend and I live nearby and we've gone here a few times now. Inside, there's only about 2 tables so it's primarily made for carry out, but the quality of the food here is definitely better than your typical carry out spots. Vignola Gourmet has handcrafted pastas, some really great sauces, and some amazing sides. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but their bread is also light and crisp. This place has all the offerings of an actual italian restaurant, but you can eat it in your lounge-wear, save a couple dollars, and actually have high quality pastas. I will say, the prices aren't going to be as cheap as your typical Chipotle or Panera orders, but it is a great deal for quality food that would typically be served in a finer Italian restaurant.
google avatar

Kendall L.

Yelp
Absolutely love the Cafe menu sandwiches. Try Porchetta sub or Cold cut! Also some of the best premade frozen meals and other quick market items around. All the ingredients taste so fresh. This place never disappoints and the service is also excellent. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ok... I'm gonna turn myself in. The jig is up. I'm 100 percent sure it is a crime that I have just been to Vignola Gourmet for the first time in my life. Ok. Let's go over a few things. Vignola makes their own pastas in house! Where is their fettuccine made? In house Where is their gnocchi made? In house Guess where there penne is made? In house Bet you can't guess where their pappardelle is made? If you guessed In house... you would be right. OK one more just for fun. Where is their spaghetti made? ... oh no... I'll wait... can you guess. Rhymes with Tin Mouse. Even though all of their pastas are listed under Handmade pastas... I still asked the cashier if ALL of the pastas on that list were actually made in house. In my experience, usually one or two pastas are made in house and the others are shipped in. But no... not this place. Every freakin' pasta is fatto in casa. Ok, so they make ALL their own pastas in house? If that's not enough; They have this wonderful little build your own pasta bowl menu. You choose your homemade pasta Then you choose your sauce And then you can add on toppings. I got pappardelle pasta with rosè sauce on it. It was freakin' delicious. I also got their gnocchi bava which is gnocchi with a gorgonzola walnut sauce on it. I liked the flavor of the gnocchi, I wish it was a little less greasy. A lot of the oil separated in the sauce. Yes, I'm fat. I work for Yelp; get over it. Those were kind of the appetizers. Listen it's authentic. In Italy the pasta course is the second course of the meal. Before the entree. It goes antipasti (before pasta), then pasta, then entree. I'm sorry I'm so grossly cultured ;) Ok, so I also got the cold cut sub and the meatball sub. No this was not ALL for me. I was dining with one other person. Lest to say; we had like 65 percent of the meal in leftovers. Portions are really nice. Bread is nice and crusty on the subs. I wasn't a huge fan of the green sauce that was served with the cold cut sub. Luckily, I got it on the side. I'd prefer a regular vinegar and oil mix. Meatballs and sauce were delicious and tender. There is about 6 high seats that surround a small table. The whole place is the size of a 1 bedroom studio apartment. They have refrigerators filled with frozen pastas, sauces, and lasagnas. I will be back soon. If I'm out of the slammer before then.

Yelp
We've been going to the library store across the parking lot from this place for years and had never noticed it. As we love Italian food we had to check it out. Nice, very small store that sells Italian goods along with frozen meals and freshly made sandwiches and pasta bowls. The arancini was amazing. Total delicious comfort food! Cannot wait to try the eggplant Parmesan next. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable and some of the Italian products are lower priced than I have seen anywhere else.
google avatar

Will C.

Yelp
I enjoy a good porchetta sandwich; Vignola's rendition is a fine one. This is particularly gratifying given the rather disappointing ones I've had recently. The sandwich featured juicy, garlicky pork on crusty bread; nothing quite better than that. The only quibble I had with the sandwich was that I thought the rapini was a little over-prepared in my taste, a bit too vinegary. Would've preferred it be a bit less prepared and let the leafy bitterness show through a bit more to contrast with the pork. Excellent service, and Ross regaled me with suggestions of their arancini, eggplant parmesan, and meatball sub. Will visit again. Also got their frozen, pre-made lasagne and will be excited to dig in.
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Tucked away in a shopping center. Quite small and cozy and most people come for takeout since there's not much seating. Other than food they also have interesting Italian ingredients and ready to go meals for sale. We ordered fettuccine and arancini and both tasted really fresh. Pasta was cooked perfectly and I really liked the sauce. Arancini was crispy outside and fillings were tasty. On top of that staff was friendly! There will be a bit of wait since they are made to order. Good italian spot in the area.
google avatar

Alberto B.

Yelp
Their food is amazing. EVERY sub is fantastic but my favorites are the Porchetta, Caprese and Cold Cut (Italian). It's a nice group of people who work there.
google avatar

Rich R.

Yelp
The Vignola Gourmet frozen red sauces make for a memorable lasagna. I use three (defrosted) containers of sausage sauces and one mushroom sauce container in my lasagna recipe, in place of canned or bottled spaghetti sauce. The result is a lasagna with deep flavor. My family and friends love it. Their sauces are great for spaghetti night as well. Their frozen meatballs are also a favorite in our home.
google avatar

Deirdre R.

Yelp
This is not an easy place to find and sure doesn't look like anything curbside but if you love true pasta and bread and to die for homemade sauce this is a little slice of heaven in Randolph Hills. Frozen dinners - especially the lasagna are over the top. Stop in and get yourself an absolutely incredible lunch or dinner!
google avatar

R N.

Yelp
Their pasta tastes like an old family recipe passed down from generation to generation- which is a good thing. Everything tastes homemade - the sauce, pasta. The meat is well marinated and flavorful. There's plenty of sauce, the chicken was juicy while the vegetables in the chicken cacciatore was not soggy from baking in the oven for over an hour. (The chicken cacciatore was one of their frozen meals which is baked in the oven.) I bought the lasagna and ate it outside the market and was not disappointed - again, abundant sauce, cheesy and the meat was a little salty for my preference but it was still good overall. Customer service was friendly - I would definitely go back and try more dishes.

nina c.

Yelp
IMHO the best Italian food in the immediate area. We've had the pomodoro pasta, gnocchi with pesto sauce, caprese sandwich, and arancini, and all have been excellent (i.e., the best I've ever had, pretty much). This is the furthest we'll drive to get food because it's that good and worth it. We also recently discovered the hot dinners which are also top-notch quality and the portions are huge (their website says serves 4-5, I'd say more like serves 10-11).
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Made my way out to MD for a quick trip to help out some friends. Decided on our first full day I wanted a Italian meatball sub. First thing I noticed walking up to this place was the smell so sweet, like something out of a carnival or back home by the candy factory. Apparently they had been making cookies all day for a school event. I ordered the meatball sub and for the price it's pretty big, not to mention the taste which was exactly what I was looking for. It was a nice experience, and had a nice seating area up front, on a beautiful day. Topped off everything with one of the sugar cookies for sale on the counter. If you haven't been here I would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
The last time I ordered 4 subs, I had very particular and allergic to many things friend. I was trying to be very specific with what he wanted and the gentleman that took the order was not understanding me I was hung up on a Saturday in the middle of November I drove 20 miles out of my way to go to Gemelli's at Darnestown Road in Quince Orchard which is absolutely the best place for a sub with the best bread called the Rustico that you have to order separate and they have an up charge but it is an amazing sandwich so sorry Vignola you're off my list
google avatar

Madison T.

Yelp
So far I have only had it four times including today. My boss swings by and grabs some sandwiches for us, and I have to say they are pretty amazing. I have yet to try everything on the menu because they close at 3 and I get off at 5. So far I have had the porchetta and turkey, out of the two porchetta better that turkey! I did get a meatball one today so we shall see how it compares.

Shannon O.

Yelp
Good meatball sandwich! I have been meaning to try the others. Don't be put off by the nondescript and kinda hard to access entrance in the back. Delicious Italian sandwiches and a small fridge of take-home prepared foods. Hidden gem!

Patrick N.

Yelp
Love this place. Easy lunch, 5 minute drive. Folks are friendly and get to know their regulars. Cannot beat the pasta. They even have frozen take home meals.

Yelp
****this review is for vegetarian items only****** This place is very random and almost hard to find if i did not see my sister sitting next to the red door in a Red dress! She was the one who suggested this place. I wish id taken a pic of that now! I got the gnocchi in the walnut sauce and she got the pappardelle in pesto with sautéed veggies and mozzarella. The gnocchi was soooo soft and amazing. I do wish the sauce was not as greasy. The pappardelle was good too. My only complaint with this place is that even though the portions are huge, the price you pay is a lot too! You almost pay around what you pay for a fine dining place for a take out place. Could you charge a little less and give a little less portions please? Maybe they have americanized their sizes..but i feel we can get a few other things for the same price rather than one big bowl. But maybe thats why I'm not running a business. The inside of the place is super cute too! Very neat, chic and an amazing display of a black board with the menu on it. This place is like a well kept secret..with amazing choices. Will go back but this time I'll ask for smaller portions.

Yelp
If you haven't visited this Rockville gem, drop everything and go now! The make your own pasta bowl is fun! I got the paparadelle noodle with the arriabata sauce and yummy! My husband got the meatball sub. It was fantastic!!!!

Yelp
THE BEST PASTA IVE EVER HAD. All the stars aligned the day we came here. We were searching for a place to each lunch in Rockville before we had to do errands. Our one year old loves pasta and tomato sauce so we decided this was a safe bet for him. I read that there was limited seating but assumed we would be fine. I didn't know that it was a high table that had eight stools. But we got lucky because the weather was nice and there was two patio tables with four chairs outside. We got extra lucky because our little guy sat still and ate his meal. We ordered a Caesar salad 5.50$, porchetta on soft bread for 7$ or 9$, and spaghetti with bolognese sauce for 10$. You can add protein to the Caesar but I just wanted a salad. The salad was a salad. The dressing tasted homemade and I love me a homemade Caesar dressing. The sandwich had an herb marinade or dressing on it that was delicious. The porchetta was crispy but still soft on the inside. I do wish there was more broccoli rabe in the sandwich. The spaghetti was thicker than I'm used to. It was super al dente which I love. The bolognese sauce was sooooo so good. It was very tomato-y, coated all noodles well but didn't feel heavy or greasy. The portions are pretty large for the price. We ate all the sandwich, salad and had a good amount of pasta to take home. We were super surprised and happy with our meal. Just can't believe we never saw this place. We used to go to 20/20 all time time.

Yelp
We went to Vignola in between lunch and dinner so did not buy a fresh sandwich or bowl but only shopped in the pre-made section. First you have to find the shop. It's in a shopping center on Boiling Brook where a Goodwill Store is the anchor store on the back side of the parking lot. Closer to the road are two red brick buildings and Vignola is at the very rear of those two buildings. When we entered the shop there were no other customers. It would have been nice if the woman behind the counter had said hello or something, but maybe she was distracted. When I write food reviews I always bear in mind that I don't eat beef, pork or veal, which might influence what dishes I try and how I rate the restaurant. From the to-go section we selected a chicken lasagna, cheese manicotti, two containers of marina sauces, and pasta without sauce. Husband picked out sausages for himself, made with red wine. The first dish we tried at home was the lasagna. I had put one of the containers of marina over the dish because it looked a little dry. The sauce was really good and added to the enjoyment of the dish. The pasta was good, though getting used to the texture of fresh took a few bites. The main problem was the mushy, tasteless chicken filling. I would try vegetable or preferably just cheese instead next time. Another night we tried the manicotti. Again, I think because of the fresh noodles the manicotti-shape was totally lost in the dish. Also the sauce was a little sweeter than the container I had added to the lasagna and it wasn't my preference. The star of the take home food however was the sausage. We have gotten sausage at Polish markets that my husband has really liked but he declared the Vignola version was the best. Even though I didn't eat the sausage with his input it's what earned the third star for this review. Another thing to note is that as we paid a "tip" screen popped up. I think it was an option to add 10, 15, or 20%. I was so surprised I added a generous tip. Later I realized they had only checked us out. We tip for carry-out but I thought their tip suggestions were high, especially for just ringing up our purchases and offering no other services.

Yelp
Took me some time to find this place once I got into the shopping center. The place from the outside looks quite random, but once you walk it looks super neat, new, and very decorative. It's got a market and carry out kind of feel. People can buy ingredients if they want to make things at home, pre made food for you to heat up, and more importantly food that can be made for you on the spot! This is a great Italian spot! I absolutely love how you can create your own pasta by choosing type of pasta, sauce, and various different add-ons! If you have a tough time deciding how to make your own pasta they have some pre-made options for you too! I got 2 order of Penne pasta, both with their house-made meatballs, one with Arrabiata sauce and the other with Rose sauce. Both sauces were delicious but my favorite sauce was the Rose sauce. It was very creamy and different than the typical tomato sauce. The Arrabiata sauce basically tasted like the generic tomato sauce, but the spicy peppers really gave it a nice kick to it. The meatballs were okay. I'm not sure if it would be better if I ate it on the spot, but I had it like 2 hours later and the meatballs seem a little dry to me. Overall the two pastas were great! I'm not sure if it's worth the price cause it's $11 dollars without any add ons and each one of the add ons were above $2. Most people I feel like wouldn't just eat plain pasta with sauce so it's well over $11 dollars. It's filling, but in a way I feel like if I'm paying that much for a bowl of pasta I'd expect it to be pretty good. I personally don't think it's worth the price, BUT the food is overall pretty good and it's up there for me in favorite pasta spots!

Yelp
Trust the Yelp reviews. Tucked away in an industrial park, Vignola Gourmet is amazing. We started with the Caprese sandwich as a shared appetizer. Creamy, fresh mozzarella is drizzled with a yummy green sauce and served on an amazing, crunchy fresh baguette. My son always chooses the Alfredo pasta bowl. Heaps of freshly-made fettuccine smothered with a rich, creamy cheesy sauce. I can practically feel my cholesterol rising. Since I'm trying to be healthy, I went with the Arrabiata sauce - a simple concoction of tomato/basil/oil/hot pepper that is so spicy good! The cooler is stocked with frozen entrees- the Manicotti is one of the best frozen meals I have ever eaten. Vignola Gourmet is a hidden gem!

Yelp
Wow thanks to the Vignola team, especially Mike, for making my amazing Porchetta Sandwich (just in case their was any doubt as to who made this one...) My son had the tried and true Cold Cut with the famous green sauce. Not surprisingly, it was another winner. Many times I had Mr. Vignola's subs when I was a kid, and they are still as amazing now as they were 20 plus years ago. What a treat to get to introduce my own 13 year old to some of the joys that I had as a kid! Wish I had discovered this little gem sooner! I knew it was around but it's not near my house. I just forgot how great the sandwiches are. I'll be back now that I have been reminded. They make all their pastas in house, and they make their own mozzarella daily. Honestly, for the quality of the food this place is a steal! They also have nicely packed ready to prepare meals that will make you seem like a kitchen wizard in your own right if you don't tel your guests... Don't be fooled by the quiet storefront and quaint little interior, the magic happens in the kitchen! You will be dazzled. Try Vignola Gourmet, you won't be disappointed! PS - Sorry no photos, the food was so good I couldn't put it down to grab my phone...

Yelp
Really excellent food here. It's a little tough to find but we'll worth the effort. I can't believe I just found out about this fantastic restaurant! ... we got a cold cut sub and spaghetti and meatballs with rose sauce.... I think I'm hooked now., and I'm not easily impressed as I grew up with an Italian grandmother who made her own sauce! My new favorite Italian restaurant!

Yelp
Don't trust their posted hours. Don't even believe what they tell you on the phone. (Called two days ago to verify hours listed on this site and were told they would definitely be open today. Guess what?- closed). They lost a big order.

Yelp
I enjoyed my first sojourn to this place! The location confused me for a bit, but that's mainly because I couldn't figure out if the large building across the parking lot was a factory or an apartment complex... But i digress. The fettucine was fresh and al dente, and pretty flavorful. I was able to stretch out my pasta bowl for 2 meals so i think it's a pretty good deal if you're a light eater. I was originally under the impression that this was a grocery store that just happened to sell food, but I quickly realized it's more of quick fresh Italian food to go. They have a great frozen selection with servings large enough to feed a family of four, or a single person for about 3 days! Very small interior but they do have some seating (around 6-8 people not including the outdoor tables). I'll be back for more pasta, excited to try the pesto next time!

Yelp
This is a great little Italian shop and bakery tucked away in a strange strip mall a few blocks off Rockville Pike in a semi-industrial parking lot. There's one long table with 4-6 chairs, but that's because it's clearly almost solely targeting carry out and catering orders. We came here because it was nearby after a pediatrician appointment on Rockville Pike and I've had it bookmarked for a while. We got the Arancini (fried rice with mozzarella, peas, and a side of marinara sauce), the meatball sub (mostly for the 2-year-old), and the porchetta sandwich. All three of them were fantastic, but as much as I was excited to get the last order of Arancini they had, I think I liked the sandwiches better. In part because I think neither it nor the marinara sauce it came with were quite flavorful enough. Meatball subs are usually pretty bounded in how good they can get, but this one was fantastic. Even though we got it mostly to make sure our 2-year-old had something to eat, I ended up eating a bunch of it because it was fantastic. The porchetta sandwich was probably the best thing though. The meat was fantastic and moist, but not fatty and combined with the toppings and sauce the whole thing was just divine. We ate until we were stuffed and still wound up bringing almost half of what we ordered home. The staff was incredibly friendly and the whole place felt homey and smelled heavenly. There were also several freezers around with all kinds of pasta, sauces and prepared Italian dishes to take away. Next time, we'll have to try some pasta and plan to take it away.

Yelp
We were looking for a quick lunch and Vignola Gourmet was nearby, so we decided to give it a try. Vignola is nice little Italian spot for a quick meal. I ordered the meatball parm, which was delicious the meatballs had some great flavor, covered with the right amount of sauce and cheese. The bread was nice and fresh with a nice crisp bight. I would definitely recommend Vignola Gourmet.

Yelp
Customer service is not good anymore. The person that answers the phone is very rude and does not want to help. I do not what happen with the son of the owner who was so nice and always very helpful Will not buy from there anymore
