Lovely sandwich place! Great service, delicious and unique sandwiches and salads, cute interior and exterior seating. A bit priced on the higher end for the portion size and can be quite heavy (especially the Caesaroni), but worth to check out with friends if Badialdi’s has a long line! Love the salads here too, they are all rotational and taste amazing. Got the asparagus couscous, roast broccoli chili crisp lemon aioli kale, and sampled the potato salad.

Vilda’s is a great little spot to grab a sandwich, a soft serve, and embrace the classic general store ambiance. The staff are friendly, and the vibes are great. The soft serve is probably the best in the city with unique flavours. The Caesaroni sandwich is yummy, and the prices, are pretty reasonable.

Google
Such a nice and cozy spot for sandwiches. Although limited in options, they do make really delicious sandwiches with seasonal produce. Their service was exceptional and very accommodating. We tried their brekky and caesaroni sandwich. The sandwiches were really good however they were slightly smaller portions. No big deal if you’re not too hungry but I would recommend adding a salad in your order. Their chips/crisps selections are limited to enjoy with the meal. This made me sad but we cant have everything, can we? All in all 8/10. Will come back for more. :)

I had the chance to try Vilda’s sandwich today, and it was absolutely delicious! Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can really tell they put a lot of thought into the ingredients. The packaging was really nice too clean, stylish, and kept everything fresh. Service was super fast, which made the whole experience even better. I also tried the soft serve, and it was perfect creamy, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. The sandwiches are a bit on the smaller side, but honestly, the quality more than makes up for it. Totally worth it. I would definitely recommend Vilda’s to anyone looking for a great meal made with care!

Google
I love this place so much I legitimately debate unfollowing them from Instagram once a week to refrain from spending all my money on their delish rotating specials All their sammies/salads are incredible but the deli chicken and lemon chili brassica are lunchtime staples It gets (rightfully) quite busy during the lunch rush but the lovely staff are super speedy and will reward your patience with some of the best nosh around Cannot recommend highly enough :)

Tried their Caesaroni and it was so yummy, wish it was a bit bigger though! But would definitely come again to try their other sandwiches!

My boss bought lunch for the team from here, and let me just say this is the absolute best lunch ive been provided with on a job site, ever! We split some sandwiches, ceaseroni and chicken salad both delightful. Great fresh toppings Also had the opportunity to try a bunch of the salads. Potato salad with the fresh dill, grainy mustard and capers really tickled my fancy! Super delicious. Roast beats with the crispy chillies and onion also on point Couscous, green peas and asparagus was so light and refreshing on a hot sunny day Seriously, everything I was so lucky to try was incredible, I can't wait to come check it out in person myself

Been meaning to try this place out for a while now and so glad I was able to finally go last week! I tried the caesaroni and butternut squash sandwiches. Both were delicious, one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back!

Yelp
10/10 butternut sandwich Hidden sandwich shop in a corner store serving up the best sandwiches. I made my sandwich vegan (removed bacon and cheese) but was still super delicious!! The microgreens inside really balanced out the sweetness of the squash. No indoor seating but a few benches outside for you to enjoy the sandwich fresh Will be back to try the brekky.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch on a Friday, and when I tell you this was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!!! The shop is so cute, a casual neighborhood feel, not really any seating inside but so spots outside to sit while you eat; definitely more of a sandwich counter though. They have a small menu of sandwich staples and one rotating special option which this week was a curry turkey sandwich, which obviously I had to get. The depth of flavor was amazing and it was sooooo fresh and satisfying from all the veggies too! I loved the textures of the sprouts and greens to the peppers. Definitely a Toronto hidden gem!!

Yelp
We came here on my birthday, and honestly, it did not disappoint. The sandwiches were amazing we got the butternut and the Turkey apple slaw . Between the two, the girlfriend and I LOVE the butternut. If you guys are ever in the area check them out you won't. Be disappointed

Yelp
This is very likely the best sandwich I have and will ever have! I got the chicken salad and omg it was like an absolute explosion of flavor in my mouth! They put banana peppers on it! What crazy mastermind thought to put banana pepper on chicken salad?? Who ever it was deserves an award! And look at that interior! It was such a cute counter to order at!

Rochelle C.

Yelp
I ordered the ceaseroni through ubereats. I wanted to eat it later, but since It arrived hot (even after ~30 mins of delivery) I ate it right away. The bread was still fluffy (not soggy) and the exterior was toasted! The cheese was stringy, pepperoni crunchy... every component of the sandwich was perfectly crafted and high quality. My absolute favourite part was the Cesar dressing. It tasted a bit garlicky. The seeds on the bun were a great add on as well that made the bun itself flavour packed. The sandwich also came with a pickle on the side. Please note prices on uber are much higher than in store.

Yelp
This place is Amazing! Stumbled upon it as we were walking up from Queen, passed that good smelling pizza from Bidiali's. Its nice to know that a little discipline will land you right at the front door of a healthy option. Vilda's is like a small general store and deli. Snagging probably the top stop to get homestyle, handmade sandwiches at a decent price in the neighbourhood. Picked up a delicious root vegetable salad with some balasamic vinigriette and ricotta cheese, plus some slivered almonds as a topper. So tasty. Kinda pricy, $13 for a medium container, 500g = 2cups. This could either be a side or a full meal, depending on your preference for eating salad. I like to have full bowls of salad that count as a meal and this would definitely suffice for that. I guess its pretty standard pricing, if I think about other salad meals at other restaurants. Plus they make everything in house, fresh with quality ingredients. Super top notch! I would absolutely love to try the other salads they have. They feature different salad toppers per salad, which can easily be swapped again, depending on your preference. The other salad ordered was fairly tasty too. A Cauliflower and broccoli salad. And their sandwhiches are scrumptious! Fully packed to the brim with meat! Exactly what you want when you order a sandwhich! Thick, saucey, delicious! Service was pretty great. The last day of the awesome counter attendant that posed for our photo. They had exceptional customer service; fun, playful, friendly- they were even dancing with the music and singing along, such great vibes. Those making the sandwich however they were pretty ensconced in their own conversation with one another. And a turn off for me was seeing their hair loose. Imo they needed hair nets. Plan on returning soon.

Yelp
Solid sandwich shop. I came to see the hype and it did not disappoint. I tried the Chicken Salad Sandwich, The Caesaroni and Turkey and Slaw on Rye. I would say that we LOVED the turkey. It had the right flavours and just enough sauce. The Cesaroni was good but the pepperoni was very salty. The Chicken Salad was also good but I felt there was too much sauce/mayo on it so it was a bit soggy. Perhaps if eaten right away it would be fine. We also had this lemon tahini salad which was really good as well. I would recommend it and definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
I've come here twice and can say this spot has some unique sandwiches. I initially came to try the viral cesaroni sandwich and was not blown away but liked the concept (maybe some components couldve been executed better). However, I was in the area and tried their Tommy Tomato sandwich since heirloom tomatoes are in season currently. It was truly one of the best sandwiches ive ever had. So simple but SO delicious. The herb mayo and the yummy bread, plus the juicy tomato is a 10/10. I plan on going back to try the Dovercourt Delight. Their soft serve is also very yummy, quite on the expensive side but delicious. The spot is really small and cozy but a good amount of seating outside. Plus youre very close to the ossington strip, its easy to find a spot to chill and eat.

Donna S.

Yelp
The bacon sandwich is delicious, a bit rich and salty on its own but I had half of it and half the chicken salad sandwich and it was a good combo. Their soft serve is a must try, the flavours change based on the season but they are always unique and amazing. I'd love to see more items on the menu aside from sandwiches and salads, I'm not a big sandwich fan hence the 3/5.

Reh L.

Yelp
Quiet little deli style spot with some benches outside and limited space inside - this place has great sandwiches, particularly the caesaroni, and soft serve with cool flavours such as strawberry and tahini.

Michael K.

Yelp
Every sandwich here is incredible. I'm obsessed with dovercourt deluge and their mushroom sandwich. Super creative tasty treats. Service is great. Feel instantly comfortable. Love that it's set up like an old grocery store. Great ambiance. Obsessed with their treats! Added plus they stock barbet

Yelp
Vilda's, located on the corner of Dovercourt and Foxley, is the neighbourhood's newest bodega style sandwich shop. Operated by the same owners of Bernhardt's across the street, this eatery is take out only. The shop operates as a convenience store as well where you can find your usual snacks and whatnot but they also have other specialty items as well. In regards to takeout food, they offer a variety of sandwiches, salads, baked goods, as well as rotisserie chicken (after 4pm). You can order ahead on their website, get delivery through delivery apps, or simply walk in to order. I've been meaning to try Vilda's for a while but didn't get a chance until now. I preordered for pickup on their website, which was pretty easy to navigate. Orders typically take ~15 min to prepare. When I got to the store, my sandwiches were already packed and ready. Food wise, I ordered the Chicago 58 Brekky Bun and the Deli Chicken Salad sandwich. The brekky bun was good - the egg was fluffy and made well and the peppers added a slight kick to the sandwich. I had a few bites of the chicken salad sandwich and that was definitely the better of the 2 sandwiches. The chicken they use in the chicken salad is from their rotisserie chickens. There was the right amount of mayo and the sprouts and arugula added some earthiness and bitterness to the sandwich balanced by some slight spiciness and sweetness from the banana peppers. Overall, a well constructed chicken salad sandwich. Definitely order this if you do check out Vilda's. Overall, great local and seasonal neighbourhood store selling sandwiches and convenience store items. Definitely would be interested to try their rotisserie chicken sometime as well!

Yelp
I love when businesses still use the unique vintage business signs/decor but add a modern twist. Vilda's is actually hard to find because it used to be a corner store. Currently the corner store sign is still up, with a small sign propped up saying "Vilda's" We obviously saw a social media video that showed this insanely packed sandwich with ooey cheesey goodness so I said "we had to have it" We had: The Caesaroni- this was essentially a pepperoni pizza and Caesar salad sandwiched between two buns. The flavors were pretty good! However I think the amount of pepperoni was a bit light and the romaine could have been packed tighter in the sandwich as it was all falling out Chicken Salad Sandwich- this was a pretty generic chicken salad, though it was definitely very packed with filling. The pickles that both sandwiches were served with were really good! Not too salty and super crunchy But overall the first sandwich was good, but honestly I wouldn't go out of the way for it. Also note the staff were all really nice and accommodating

Yelp
The Cesaroni is so good, bees started attacking me for it. They followed me to the next bench lol.

Michelle W.

Yelp
Easy to miss this little shop, but worth stopping by to try their sandwiches. They also have a small assortment of groceries (including Vanilla Coke which my friends were very excited by), but we came to try their Caesaroni which is melty cheese and pepperoni on a crispy bun topped with caesar salad. Only two seats by the door so more of a grab-and-go situation. Also a tad pricey for a sandwich ($14), but I'd go back on days I want to treat myself!

Khadija R.

Yelp
Vilda's makes sandwiches that are simple, wholesome enough that you THINK you could make it yourself but you cannot make a sandwich like this (at least I can't)! From the fresh ingredients, pillowy bread, and perfect combinations that a normal person wouldn't dare to venture considering - these sandwiches are perfect. Is it pricey? Yes. So maybe a "treat yourself" kind of spot. But worth it to spark some Sammy creativity for your own creations.

Victor P.

Yelp
They have really good sandwiches and it's cute kind of vintage vibe inside. My only complaint is that they kind of rip you off on iced coffee, it's like 6 dollars for a little cup that's half ice anyways lol Come for the sandwiches alone

Hailey P.

Yelp
Finally checked out Vilda's after getting their famous Caesaronni sandwich on TikTok. Totally worth the hype... it was delicious! We ordered beforehand on the website so we didn't need to wait in line. Staff were nice. Wish there was more seating though!

Xander G.

Yelp
Keep your eye out for this one as it's hard to recognize. Minimal signage; reportedly due to the owner's hope to avoid neighbourhood gentrification. Perhaps not given the hefty price tag for a sandwich, but boy are they good. We shared Caeseroni and Squash Club sandwiches, both of which blew us away. The former is a cross between a caesar salad and pepperoni pizza, served on a bun with everything-bagel spice. The latter is a squash-based take on the classic Club, delivering a unique twist on a staple. They've also got a small selection of upscale groceries including an eclectic selection of soft drinks. Service is wonderful and its locale is hard to beat. If you're heading to Badiali's for a slice and come face-to-face with a 30min line, or are just looking for a heck of a sando, head just up the street to Vildas!

Yoav G.

Yelp
Omg these sandwiches are the best sandwiches we've ever had. This place is a hidden gem in the city. Everything at Vilda's looks so good! can't wait to come back and try the baked stuff.
