This modest taqueria serves breakfast & lunch only in a minimal setup.
"In a busy city full of busy folks, often very little time exists for sit-down breakfast. Villa Arcos can assist with this dilemma with quick counter service and legendary, pillowy-soft breakfast tacos. This East End Mexican taco spot off Navigation continues to pump out handmade, fluffy flour tortillas stuffed with refried beans, eggs, and thick, crispy slices of bacon. Call ahead if you’re truly in a rush, or grab a Topo and a patio table for focused tortilla enjoyment." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas, julie takahashi
"Everyone in the East End knows to grab breakfast tacos at Villa Arcos. The tiny red shack on Navigation has been a neighborhood favorite since 1977. It supplies stuffed breakfast tacos (also known as “The Super”) to the mostly-washed masses of local blue-collar workers, politicians, and people who recently moved from Montrose. Not much beats opening up hastily wrapped aluminum foil to reveal a pillow-soft flour tortilla overflowing with thick hunks of bacon, eggs, cheese, beans, and potatoes. Well, except maybe opening up another one filled with chorizo." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"This beloved daytime taco spot in the East End has been a neighborhood favorite since 1977 due to their fluffy, fresh, and buttery handmade flour tortillas. Other than a brief pandemic hiatus, Villa Arcos has continuously supplied a never-ending line of construction workers, East End regulars, and politicians with egg-stuffed breakfast tacos (a.k.a.“Supers”), plates of machacado and eggs, and bowls of menudo. "The breakfast and lunch taco spot Villa Arcos along Navigation is a beloved neighborhood gem. The handmade flour tortillas are still fluffy and buttery, the service is counter service, and the coffee is only available in a styrofoam cup. Wait in line among the never-ending throng of construction workers, hipsters, local heads, and politicians for super-stuffed breakfast tacos, barbacoa, and plates of machacado and eggs. The bright red house takes call-ahead orders, too, but then you would miss all the fun. " - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"Ask most folks in the East End where to get breakfast tacos, and you will likely hear the name Villa Arcos more than a few times. The beloved breakfast and lunch taco spot has been a neighborhood favorite since 1977 due to their fluffy, fresh, and buttery handmade flour tortillas. Despite a brief hiatus during the height of the pandemic, Villa Arcos has supplied a never-ending line of construction workers, hipsters, local heads, and even politicians with egg-stuffed breakfast tacos—known as Supers on the menu—barbacoa, plates of machacado and eggs, and weekend bowls of menudo. Not much changed about Villa Arcos: the interior, including the tables and chairs, is bright red, it’s counter service, coffee is only served in a styrofoam cup, and bussing your own tray is expected. photo credit: Chelsea Thomas" - Chelsea Thomas
