Long since decommissioned, it’s back in business as a thoroughly unusual hotel, with some rooms occupying the old tower quarters, as well as others in the gardens, in the old iron reservoir tank, or even floating on the surface of the Wantij river." - Mark Fedeli

Friendly and welcoming staff, clean relativity simple rooms, but each room is different and very well equipped. Service is above 5 star hotel. I had a garden room, it was quiet and comfortable. I booked a bike for the following day and this was all arranged. So was the taxi for the following day. I stayed 3 days, ate in the restaurant, food was very good. Excellent 3 days.

A charming local establishment with a delightful blend of offerings: Atmosphere and Setting
The venue boasts a picturesque setting with good scenery, creating a pleasant ambiance for visitors. The cute little store selling vegetables adds a rustic touch, while the nice garden enhances the overall appeal. The stylish restaurant complements the rural charm, making it an attractive destination for diners. Food • Pumpkin soup: Very nice, a standout dish • Steak: Acceptable, but not exceptional. Service
The staff demonstrated good service, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, the pacing of the meal could use improvement, as the time between dishes was noticeably long. Value for Money
The establishment offers very good price quality, suggesting that patrons receive fair value for their spending. In summary, this venue presents an appealing package with its charming atmosphere, fresh produce store, and stylish restaurant. While the food quality varies and service pacing needs attention, the overall experience and value make it worth considering for a visit.

The location and the gardens are really beautiful! We liked the market and the decoration of the old building. At the restaurant we tried the risotto with beetroot and the frittata with the eggplants, that were tasty! The staff was also welcoming and nice! It's a nice place to visit for just a coffee or a meal with friends and family!

The hotel is quirky due to the buildings its in and what they used to be. We had a top floor room in the tower so had fantastic views of the river and gardens. Big room, very clean, comfortable bed. Its industrial looking as in the old water tower and the renovation keeps its industrial heritage. If you only like shiny, sparkly new hotels, this is not it for you but we loved the feel of the place. Quirky and fun without being silly. Reception staff excellent. Gardens fantastic. Easy parking. 20 minute walk into centre of town. Breakfast good.

I went to the Villa Augustus hotel because I had to spend the night in the area for some business, and the building looked nice and vintage. The the rooms looked cozy and unique too. To say that this hotel is a hidden gem would be an understatement. The garden when you get in is absolutely incredible, with a front door area which grown farm vegetables and the rear that looks from a French Royal castle garden. And once you get in the surprises do not stop and the crew is super helpful and nice and the room ? what can I say, The building is super cool, and was a water tower that was reconditioned into a hotel, so the tower rooms are unique both in configuration, beauty , glamour and in having some steep stairs to get to the bathroom. The room has the nice industrial look complete bathroom under the main room but with some steep stairs. No problem for me but something to be taken into configuration. The Restaurant Augustus was very good too with super tasty Italian dishes and nice beer. The breakfast was either buffet or a la carte and the small breakfast at only 10 euros was nice and affordable. I do not need more to start the day. Overall a fantastic experince that i will repeat, 100% sure.

This is a very interesting hotel with several room options. The rooms in the tower are spacious and have wonderful views over the gardens and the water. Some have small balconies. The garden rooms have a small private patio area although internet coverage isn't too good. The restaurant in the adjacent building serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The various gardens surrounding the hotel are wonderful and include a formal garden, a flower garden and a vegetable garden.||The staff at the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate special requests. Some of the staff are conversant in English which is helpful.||The main drawback is its location which requires a taxi ride to the city center although there is parking for those who have a car.

Yelp
This place was very cool! There is a storefront, fresh bakery, restaurant, and tea room. We went for dinner and really enjoyed it. My one complaint is the service was quite slow and we had to get back to Amsterdam for Anne Frank House, so I was very stressed during dinner. We started with bread served with whipped ricotta and the freshest pesto I've ever had. It was SO good. We also shared some seasonal roasted veggies which were really delicious. I had a pasta with a paprika sauce and provolone on top and it was awesome. The space itself is filled with lots of color and tons of natural light. My mom grabbed a few cookies from the bakery and she really enjoyed them. Although they were too crunchy for my taste. Overall, a really neat spot to have a meal.

Yelp
The husband and I love this place! We have been a few times for lunch, and it's just perfect. The food is great - their grilled veggie appetizer, pizza, and panna cotta are all simply delicious. This is a place that has a garden on-site in which they grow veggies to use in the restaurant, and to-date this is the best example I've seen yet (anywhere) - there is a staff that manages the farming. The design of the restaurant is super unique and impressive and the grounds are beautiful, as they do not just grow veggies but also a ton of flowers. The shop also has some cute and unique items. We are hoping to stay a night here at the hotel soon (will update the review after our stay).

Yelp
I would describe Villa Augustus as an experience! The restaurant feels like a big cafeteria with a great menu. Vintage furniture, homegrown ingredients, friendly service. Impressive surroundings, hotel and limonaia used often as wedding location. Perfect for families.

Yelp
After 1.5 weeks camping with a tent during our cycle holiday with lots of rain we treated ourselves to a room in Villa Augustus. What a treat. A beautiful room, a lovely shower, very friendly staff, beautiful gardens, a short walk to the centre of Dordrecht, very good food and a nice shop. They grow their own vegetables. Price is high, but worth it.
