Villa Cavrois

My second visit to this stunning modernist villa built in 1932 for the textile industrialist Paul Cavrois. The architect , Robert Mallet Stevens, used Cuban mahogany for floors and marble from Sweden and Siena for some of the fireplaces. The villa is on the national register and an easy 10 minute walk from the tram in a very beautiful neighborhood. On my last visit 10 years ago there was no furniture. Period furniture is now in some rooms. A stunning villa and definitely worth an hour visit.

It was a nice place that doesn’t take much time to visit. I have just one recommendation to the staff taking care of the place. There should be more signs indicating the exit and the entrance as a lot of people, including me and my friend, got confused. Otherwise I would definitely recommend the place.

A bit off the track, but definitely worth visiting! Even by public transport, you can reach the place after a 20-minute pleasant walk. The villa is awesome, especially after you learn how much effort and money has been put in it's restoration (the video is shown in the garage, and I would suggest to start with it to better appreciate what you can see later!).

Stunning house. If you are interested in design or architecture definitely visit. Easy to get there by tram. A 1.3k walk from the tram stop of the same name.

Interesting architecture, especially taking into account that this building is very old, but the design represents modernity. I recommend to visit this place and to walk through many outstanding rooms.

It is a very interesting experience for someone who is interested in design. The villa shows lots of examples of highly artistic and precise work. The materials used are amazing and really different (but matching) in the entire estate. A visit is recommended 👌

Absolutely. Beautiful place. The restoration is outstanding. Well, worth the trip to get there. Great sense of history.

When considering that this building is almost a century old, it almost feels space age. If only the walls could tell the tales of the vast array of things that took place inside during its existence. Attention to detail of restauration work mind blowing.
