Villa Helena Heritage Guest House & Restaurant

The place could be very charming but definitely needs some TLC. My room was huge, AC to small to accomodate well. The bed was really comfortable. The decor nice. Also need mosquito netting for the beds, despite spraying twice i was badly bitten on my face in the night and awoke to red spots all over my face. I also had trouble getting water for shower, only there one night so skippped it. Breakfast was ok, coffee nice. ||The hotel gift shop is very nice and well worth a visit! ||Location is very good in heart of white town. Also enjoyed the resident cats!

Beautiful charming hotel excellent location in heart of french quarter. Historic huge high ceiling rooms, beautiful romantic courtyard. So what if the water never really got hot, its india. Also mosquitoes are hardly the hotel’s fault. My son Especially enjoyed the cats.

Ambience and vibe of the place is excellent, with a Good garden in the heritage property. It is supposedly a 100 plus years property. Restaurant has a limited menu but the food served is good. Best part is you can walk around to the best that white town has to offer. Flooring of the room particularly where we stayed (B2) needs improvement. Sudha and Geraldine are good hosts.

Room was acceptable but bit tired. Service of cleaning staff and reception was excellent. Restaurant staff service was satisfactory. Food was average lite meals were good but Mains were variable. Location was excellent perfectly positioned for the all the main attractions and restaurants. WiFi was excellent as well. Laundry and massage services were excellent and good value for money. Overall good value for money.

We did not stay, although it looked very nice as a heritage home, but had dinner in the courtyard. A varied albeit limited menu, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Very good value for money and a relaxed vibe. Would definitely recommend

Stayed there for a day with my family ,to be fair the food was awesome and the rooms are fairly maintained.However the property and the surrounding areas are infested with mosquitoes spent a sleepless night .Though the management were courteous enough to provide a mosquito bat and repellent it some didn’t work!! the tap in the bathroom was not working perhaps due to low water pressure .Will not recommend this place .

Not value for money …. Rooms are badly ventilated and mostly damp. Limited menu…. Service is also ok type . Nothing can be taken to the room . Lots of improvement needed. Yes , the location is good and paid parking is available . Better and cheaper options like sea facing rooms are available . The property gives a vibe of French era . Overall an OK type set up

This is a beautiful, heritage hotel in the French quarter of Pondicherry with charming staff a well stocked and relaxing garden and exquisitely-appointed rooms. Villa Helena is a perfect compliment to the French colonial charms of Puducherry and its location is right in the midst of the most beautiful collection of streets, shops and restaurants in this wonderful South Indian town.
