I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Villa Le Lac, also known as the Villa "Le Lac" Le Corbusier, a stunning residential building poised on the shores of Lake Geneva in Corseaux, Switzerland. The genius of Swiss architects and cousins Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret is distinctly showcased in the design of this home, which was crafted between 1923 and 1924, intended originally for Le Corbusier's parents.
The villa is an epitome of modern architectural design, with a keen focus on Le Corbusier's famous Five Points of Architecture, three of which are beautifully illustrated here. It's not surprising that it holds the title of a Swiss Cultural Property of National Significance and proudly joined the ranks of the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016. This architectural marvel is a must-see for anyone intrigued by the intersection of heritage, design, and natural beauty.
Cost of entry is CHF14.-.
