Located high on a hill, this summer villa offers a superb view over Hyères and the Mediterranean Sea.
The block-shaped building stands out against the green hills covered with cypresses. Certainly impressive, but not half as special as just after its completion in 1925.
This villa is now an art centre of national interest and presents exhibitions, festivals and workshop all year long. Avant gardiste for their time you can discover the way of life of wealthy and arty French couple, Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles.
It became an artist’ meeting place between the two wars.
The villa is a perfect example of Mallet Stevens architecture.
The building needs a renovation and more furnitures in order to give to the visitors more ideas and feelings about the way of life on that time.
