"With the Old Town spread out below, this picture-perfect spot was once a place of worship dedicated to Saint Ursula, the patron saint of young girls. Today Orsula is a scenic outdoor amphitheater and a nice detour if you take a cab from the harbor to the Old Town. Ask the driver to take you via the Gruž bridge so you can get a bird’s-eye view of the cruise ship port and Gruž Bay."
"Built in the 1930s as a private villa, this boutique hotel was renovated in 2012, but still makes guests feel as if they’re staying in someone’s home. Perched on a steep hillside across the bay from the Old Town, it features stone terraces, vine-covered pergolas, and colorful gardens, all of which offer breathtaking vistas of the Adriatic and Dubrovnik’s signature tiled roofs. The 13 rooms—all but one with sea views—have high ceilings and arched windows lined with white shutters to soften the afternoon sun, while modern bathrooms come stocked with plush bathrobes and decadent Bulgari amenities. When not enjoying their daily delivery of fresh fruit or cookies, guests can head to the bathing platform at the bottom of the stone stairs, the outdoor pool at the neighboring Grand Villa Argentina, or the spa at the Hotel Excelsior."

Wow! What can I say about this magical gem of a hotel. We visited it as a late 50th Birthday treat for myself and it was also my wife’s Birthday while we were away. We arrived and were given an upgraded room. Little did we know that it was an upgraded hotel which was an annexe of the main hotel which was the hotel we originally booked. |We were taken down a corridor and opened the door to our room and were instantly blown away. A fabulous sea-view balcony, large double bed with flowers, chocolates and wine on our arrival. The room was spotless and all the extra touches, like beautiful bathroom products through to slippers and robes were provided. |The highlights for me and my wife was the service level, which was second to none. Anything you needed you just had to ask for, from a private breakfast with table service overlooking Dubrovnik harbour through to advice on what to see while we were here. |They made us feel very special and it was so quiet and peaceful unlike the main part of the hotel. |The icing on the cake was meeting our lovely concierge named Adila who was a wonderful lady who told us about the history of the hotel and made us feel very special and welcome in Croatia. We can only give this hotel a perfect 10. It was flawless in every way. A holiday never to forget. ||Craig and Vicky Ottolini.

We booked a deluxe double room with balcony and sea view at Villa Argentina and upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite in the adjoining Villa Orsula! The suite felt like it had been refurbished recently and the finish was modern and classy. This was a great treat as it was my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary during our stay (we didn't mention this, it was just coincidence). Aside from the room, the hotel staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us, the breakfast offered was great and the atmosphere in the hotel was very quiet and chilled which was exactly what we were looking for. Location is perfect too as it is only a ten minute walk to the old town.

Food delicious. The pool and sea terraces are fab -again the team here were so helpful - putting umbrellas up to create shade and moving beds to remoter areas . Thanks we loved our 2 nights here

The hotel is very special property, and my experience was overall positive. I give it 4*|1 star is for the building itself. Old villa overlooking an Adriatic Sea - astonishing |1 star is for the best breakfast I had in Croatia. The food was heartwarming, and I loved the place where it was served. Wonderful terrace with a view of Old Town won my heart |1 star is for the hosts. I don’t call them “the staff” cause I felt like a guest visiting my family friends not like a client who paid for that. Also I got a bottle of good local wine as a welcome gift which was a nice gesture |1 star is for the room. Discreet luxury. Full of light. |0 stars are for amenities. I’d rather go with some local beauty brand instead of strange bottles branded with Bottega Veneta||Overall, it was close to perfect stay. Though quite pricey

Dubrovnik was always on my bucket list and friends have said it was for a few days. We booked 10 nights at Villa Orsua and thought that was about right for us.||||Firstly Dubrovnik- a wonderful town/city with exceptional history. The safest place we have been in Europe- never once saw anything of any concern or even a policeman. Croatiam people are friendly, keen to please and all speak English which made the translation easy. prices within the city walls are toursit proces but not ridiculous. We wnjoed live entertainment int he city square, great food and trips from the harbour. The weatehr was perfect at the end of May. ||||Villa Orsula was exceptional. From te moment we arrived and met by Adial of Concierge- we felt immediately at home. The Villa has 13 well apppinted rooms and is very much like a large house where everyone gets on. The terrace where you can have dinner and breafast has outstanding views over the old town and the sea. We experienced some seas like mirros and windy days- none of it mattered as the team at Villa Orsula knew exactly hw to adapt.||||A short walk down hill to the city centre and back up afterwards. You do not have to be an athlete but you do get exercise!||||A rare htel that we would definitely return to but alas not until 2024 as the adjoining Argentia Hotel which shares facilities with Orsual is being re-developed at the end of 2022. Still 2 years is not a long time to return to paradise.

Perfect location for a chilled out get away to this stunning City. Villa Orsula is presented to a very high standard - the hotel is immaculate & the staff cannot do enough for you to make your stay memorable.
Dinner in the Villa's Victoria Restaurant, presided over by Denis & assisted by Marko, is delightful with beautifully presented food & an amazing view of the Old Town.
Rooms are spacious with glorious views, and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable.
The grounds are beautiful, filled with lush vegetation & wonderfully perfumed shrubs & flowers. There are a number of nooks & crannies in which to sit out of the midday sun and enjoy a book, a glass of wine, or to just drink in the view!
Head Concierge, Adila is wonderful, she is very happy to make sure you have everything you need to ensure your stay is perfect!
Villa Orsula is not cheap but is well worth the expense to receive a truly 5 star experience.

The view from this gorgeous villa is stunning. The building of the villa itself is also stunning . Interiors are nice enough nothing inspiring .it’s very clean . ||The victoria restaurant is really something special. The views amazing, the waiters are charming , the food divine. Also the bar is wonderful - again the bar man really charming and the views lovely , the cocktails are delicious! ||Adila at reception is lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. ||||The only thing I would say is for the price they could make sure every day your coffee and water is replenished . I had to ask some days. Also air con is noisy and didn’t work that well . Never got that cold . Hairdryer ancient ! ||||I also feel the gardens outside could be put to better use. There are areas which could have loungers for the day , could be planted properly to be beautiful ! Also we all felt villa orsula should offer lunch !||||The bathing platform is lovely if a little crowded and the sea absolutely gorgeous! ||||Thank you villa orsula !

We booked through Unforgettable Croatia for a seven day luxury cruise with a few days each at Split and Dubrovnik so the hotel choice was left to them and they excelled with Villa Orsula (part of and connected to the Grand Villa Argentina with all its facilities) we had a beautiful luxury room in the roof (although ceiling height a little low around the bed area) with an amazing view from the balcony. The concierges were extremely friendly and there was a private entrance without going through the attached hotel Grande Villa Argentina. There was an outdoor seawater pool and swimming from a platform with steps into the sea, all with the beautiful view of the exquisite fort and Lokrum Island. It was an easy 20 minute walk into the city centre. Would highly recommend.
