"René Lalique was the most prominent jeweller of the turn of the 20C and the Art nouveau movement. His legacy lives on in Wingen-sur-Moder, with a museum and a luxury hotel in the hundred-year-old Villa, while the Mario Botta-designed contemporary extension houses the restaurant. At the helm is Paul Stradner, a chef influenced by stints in Austria and Germany. Emulsion of potatoes and truffles (one of the signature dishes); lobster with radish, tarragon and spruce-infused mousse; pigeon, rainbow carrots, kumquat and cumin sauce: the epitome of delicate, intelligent, creative food. The wine cellar is quite simply out of this world…" - Michelin Inspector

Villa René Lalique (Wingen-sur-Moder, Grand Est) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Villa René Lalique feels less like a hotel and more like stepping into the private world of its namesake. With just six suites, each referencing the textures and forms of Lalique’s glasswork, the experience is equal parts retreat and revelation. The interiors are curated: family photographs, sculptural lighting, and even a crystal-encased speaker designed with Jean-Michel Jarre. Outside, the woods and hills of Alsace stretch out in all directions; inside, a team devoted to detail keeps everything humming in harmony. This is more than a stay. It is an invitation into a house of art." - Tablet Hotels

Intimate escapes: French boutique hotels away from the city - SilverKris

"A timber-framed Alsatian house that served for decades as the base for glass designer René-Jules Lalique, located close to his still-operational factory-turned-museum. Reopened in 2015 after a modern makeover, its six suites display abundant Maison Lalique crystalware and family photographs; a Mario Botta–designed glasshouse now houses a restaurant where chef Jean-Georges Klein cooks beneath a 1928 Lalique chandelier originally made for the Orient-Express. The property pairs historic charm with contemporary design and is reachable by rail via nearby Wingen-sur-Moder or by flying into Strasbourg (about 65 km)." - SilverKris

Our stay at Villa Lalique was absolutely fabulous. The property itself is gorgeous, with stunning grounds and an incredible attention to detail throughout. The restaurant and food were exceptional, and the overall experience was beyond our expectations. We completely fell in love with the place and are already planning to visit their château in Bordeaux, as well as the new hotel in Zurich once it opens.

The accomodations, and even more, the people were amazing. The room was perfect, the little extras were perfect, and I wanted for nothing. The wine tasting was excellent with perfectly paired dishes. Just everything was awesome and although pricey, it is not much more than a nice hotel in a major city with absolutely better service. I will make this a yearly visit.

Beautiful building and surroundings, stylish decor with Lalique work reflected in close to all elements, from plates to glasses to lamps. View of the forests in the dining room. We had lunch there and they provided us with a no-meat lunch menu upon request which was much appreciated. All dishes were well-balanced and delicious. Top notch service. 100% recommended.

What a beautiful setting! Service as it should be and ofcourse beautiful to see the hotel and rooms equipped with all Lalique details. The diner was for me personally one of the best I’ve had. Flavors were all in balance and portions were perfect size. Biggest shout out goes for the impressive wine list at acceptable prices which made it even more pleasant enjoying some of the best wines. Also the breakfast was exactly what we needed. We’d love to go back !
