"Generations of Detroiters have patronized Villa Restaurant for its traditionally prepared dishes like the antipasto salad with dressing, mostaccioli, shrimp scampi, and Tony’s combination plate for those who can’t decide." - Danny Palumbo

If you want a place place with good Italian food that is homemade, this is the place. The cheese sticks and cheese bread came out nice and gooy, the lasagna is a big portion, meat ravioli was cooked amazingly, and the pizza, omg. The perfect amount of toppings and cheese, with a nice sweet and crunchy crust.

Really enjoyed our time here. The service was attentive, pleasant and friendly. The dinning area feels personal but spacious. Their in-house salad dressing is hands down the best dressing I have ever had and will purchase some to have at home. It is well worth it. Overall the food we had was good. I had to add a little salt to some of the dishes but I was completely satisfied with all that we tried and would order them again, although I want to try the pizza next time. We look forward to our next visit.

Came here on a Saturday night about an hour and a half before they closed. WOW!!! I am so happy I came here! The atmosphere is so charming. The calamari was some of the best I’ve ever had. We got it with marinara sauce instead of cocktail sauce and that was a great choice. The chicken Parmesan was the best I’ve had around Detroit so far. I was blown away. The bread was warm, the house wine was yummy, and the sauce was perfect. I was a little less impressed by the pizza, but I’m still glad I tried it. (I just think the dough could use a bit more salt). The chicken noodle soup was also good as a side - it looks plain but the flavor was really good. Overall this was a GREAT dining experience and it really hit the spot without breaking the bank :) everything together was $45.

Google
I got the vegetarian pizza.I was very disappointed. It didn't hit the mark for me or my son. Every friday we get vegetarian pizza from different restaurants. This one was highly recommended. Maybe their regular pizza is better, but it didn't hit the mark with us.

We went because Danielle is our favorite bartender from a past establishment. Since she switched jobs we wanted to see her. She raves about the food. We actually missed her she was off but we had Donna. She was just as good! A real firecracker. Great service and funny! Makes a good Long Island too! We will definitely be back!

Google
A family favorite. Have had many Birthday and Anniversary celebrations for more than 30 years. Great Italian favorites you can't go wrong with any menu choice. Owner/Hosts Loretta and Tony come around to all the tables and always make you feel welcome. The perfect example of a great restaurant - great food, service and atmosphere.

Myself and my brother George came and placed an order. Haven't been there in a long time. The establishment was as I remembered. As you enter, nice Italian music setting the mood beautifully. Then everyone was nice as always. If you are looking for a taste of Italy. No other place can match it then Villa. Keep up the great work Tony.

Yelp
I am rating first in accessibility then quality. There are a fair number of handicap designated spaces - however there are concrete curbs placed so close together that as a wheelchair use you have to go clear out to the street and come up the side walk- and then that is blocked by a narrowing of the path. So unless someone is going to pick up the wheelchair/scooter no easy entry. Likewise the restroom was completely inaccessible, I am able to walk a bit and it was very tight. We had a very large group and the service was great The pasta not so much. The gnocchi was really chewy and the ravioli also was very undercooked, actually chewy.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We loved it!! Had the sampler lasagna fettuccine chicken parmigiana Stuffed! Calamari was good cheese bread delicious Tiramisu soo yummy Hubby loved the minestrone! We will def be back Service was on point!

Yelp
For the first time I dined at Villa during lunch. My group and I had a buffet luncheon there. WOW! What a pleasant surprise. Not only was the staff superb with their service and attentiveness, but the buffet food was generous and delicious. We had chicken, ratatouille, meatballs, green beans, and a sundae. The restaurant has a great parking lot and the inside of the restaurant was very clean. It was a pure delight to discover this gem from 1956. The portions were generous and I was even able to take food home. I can't wait to go back. Bravo!

Yelp
Went here for dinner this past Friday night on an invitation from our nephew and his wife along with there little girl. Small, cozy, nicely decorated. We each ordered our food and drinks. Enjoyed some very good salads and then came the food. Looked so very good and tasted great. We enjoyed a nice night out here for the first time and we will defiantly return. The food is that good.

Steve K.

Yelp
Not great, not bad. VERY nice people with great service. Sat on the restaurant side in a booth & probably should've gone through to the bar side because the ambience on this side was quite bright, like a church social hall. I recommend you try the bar side, more conductive to a quiet dinner in our opinion. Pastas were just ok. Wouldn't rush back.

Yelp
We went to Villa Restaurant for my husband's birthday. The service was fine, but not outstanding. At one point the waitress asked a question which showed she thought we'd been in before, because she never asked us anything about ourselves or why we were there. It suggested a lot of new people aren't coming to this restaurant. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer, he got chicken Parmesan and I got villa chicken, and we had a piece of tiramisu for dessert. The bruschetta was really tasty, but nothing special. Just slices of bread with garlic and cheese and tomatoes. My husband liked his chicken Parmesan, but we were surprised about the bread basket he was given. It just had two slices of regular white bread in it that appeared store bought and two things that looked like pretzel sticks. The villa chicken comes with breaded eggplant despite the description not identifying the eggplant as being breaded. Further, I was given a choice of three sides: pasta, vegetables, or fries. I was thinking I wanted a potato on the side so I went with the fries. They were possibly the worst fries I've ever had. Just no flavor or texture. Finally, the tiramisu tasted good but we were told it had been frozen and then thawed in the microwave, so there were some cold spots in it. Overall, this place is definitely home style - nothing fancy to be found here.

Yelp
The food was good! Not a bad little place at all. The restaurant was clean and they had the Lions game on. The waitress was ok and the beers came in massive frosty glasses! We would come more often but they don't open till 4pm.

Susan P.

Yelp
We always wonder after visiting a restaurant for the first time how the next visit will be. So many times it has been what we refer to as "one and done. " Not Villa. Food and service were just as good if not better than the first time. From the garlic bread to the calamari (best we've ever had) to the pizza special and cannoli everything was perfection. Love that they use wood burning ovens. The owner came over to speak with us and we let her know this was our second visit and we are not from the area. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Michigan with Pizza that tastes the way Pizza is supposed to taste! Delicioso! I have so many wonderful memories of this restaurant and I have nothing but good things to say about it! Great food! Great service! Long live Villa! Thank you for being such a gem!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Food was fantastic and the staff was very attentive. Have been there numerous times. Will be back soon!

Scott P.

Yelp
Great food, great service and friendly staff. You must eat here. This place has been here since the 50's. Still going strong with the same people. That speaks tons of their longevity.

Cristina B.

Yelp
I have heard rave reviews about Villa for years and I finally stopped in for a carry out order. What I love about Villa is they offer countless fresh and homemade Italian meals at an affordable price. I ordered the mostaccioli with meat sauce, which also came with a garden salad and bread. The meal was $12 and I had enough food for 3 days! The salad was fresh and the dressing was also homemade (I had Italian dressing!) Even my boyfriend was snagging bites of the pasta! 10/10 recommend! My boyfriend had the chicken parmesan, which came with two perfectly breaded chicken breasts. His meal also came with a side of angel hair pasta. The salad options here are also fresh and homemade. He loved his chicken noodle soup! Was so comforting on a rainy day! Everything tasted amazing. The meat sauce here is superb. Can't wait to dine in soon with my family!

Yelp
Old school Italian goodness. Call the basic staples are on the mend your hair. There's at least six or seven different types of pasta to choose from, and you can add grilled chicken, mushrooms, meatballs, etc. They also have things like chicken Parmesan, chicken piccata, ravioli, lasagna, etc. The differences these things are all made the old fashion way, and have an amazing old world taste. Fantastic service with friendly service and horse adds to the experience. It's a relaxed room, feel free to wear your jeans and T-shirts as you'll be very welcome! I love this place!

Kristina T.

Yelp
My first time here was for dinner and drinks tonight. Wonderful Italian food. Excellent service by Stacey. It's a must visit. I'll be back!

Conor A.

Yelp
The Food was 100% awesome and I have been going here since I was born, and I love the Owner she is so friendly, my family has been going here since 1986 or something. The food, the service and atmosphere was great!

Julie T.

Yelp
We love this place! I went with a group of friends and the waitress was super accommodating with our requests to split things/get separate checks/etc. We also had a toddler with us and everyone was so nice and patient with her. The food was very good and the portions were very generous. Everyone took home leftovers for later. If you're looking for a cute, family oriented restaurant with quality food and service this is your place!

Gena G.

Yelp
My daughter left a review on their website yesterday and somehow it disappeared. Kind of strange. I took my girls for a birthday dinner. Worst food ever went there years ago and it was awesome. I don't know what happened but my chicken was undercooked and look like a frozen processed. Pressed Patty . The wine butter sauce was congealed like jelly and Mushrooms over the top was literally raw, not even washed. You could see the dirt on the mushrooms The owner was rude when I tried to send my food back which I have never done in my whole life and was quite embarrassed about it and then charge me full price after she said she would comp it. I was so frustrated I pay the full bill tip the waitress who is the only nice person in the whole place. and left I would think they would take constructive criticism properly so that they can keep the same standards they did years ago when it used to be great villa restaurant what happened to you?

Gianna G.

Yelp
We had a huge selection from this restaurant as carry out. We really enjoyed most of the food. The minestrone soup, linguine with clam sauce, and fettuccine Alfredo were very good. We also enjoyed the garden salad and Caesar salad. I didn't get to try the meatball sub but my nephew seemed to enjoy it. Looking forward to our next visit

Stacia G.

Yelp
Went here on a weeknight with some friends. Old school, good and proof service. The soup (chicken noodle) was so good- unfortunately filled me up a lot and was hard to eat all my pasta. I had the linguini Romano and it was a healthy portion that I could not finish. They have a wide menu of pasta and pizzas. Definitely an affordable and tasty option for out to eat.

Bernie M.

Yelp
Lasagna, chicken Parmesan, eggplant parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo-all deliciousness with excellent meat sauce. All meals included salad with the best house dressing and Italian bread basket. Amazing food and wonderful service.

Marne D.

Yelp
Very, old, old place, needs a refresh for sure! Maybe the carpet could be upgraded and those old booths, with the plastic table cloths? Yuck. I knew what we were getting into, old is old. This place has been around a long time. Dining, .....let me say that the chef has lost their taste buds. I had chicken Alfredo, which tasted like nothing! It looks like it should have a luscious flavor but without a handful of salt and some serious shakes of what looks like powdered parmesan cheese, it has no flavor. Hubby had chicken piccante which tasted more like chicken Marsala, MAYBE, hard to tell. it seems the go to is the triple Tony meal, saw many dishes of that coming out, UNFORTUNATELY, I won't be back to try that. It seems like they try to separate the families with kids in one section and older adults in the other, by the bar and tv, not a bad idea. Mediocre wine was 6 bucks per glass, decent fill.Waitress was polite and helpful. Unfortunately our tab was incorrect, so check your receipt before you set down your credit card. I think it was a genuine mistake, but a twenty dollar difference is a bit much! For me it's one and done, sorry Villa, won't be bringing my friends here, glad I checked it out first.

Zoe V.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much but the food is fresh and authentic. The bread taste like it's made daily!!! Fair prices and definitely I am going back again Amazing food for great price!!

Rebecca R.

Yelp
5 stars damn straight! I take comfort in food and this place meet my needs. If your Italian grandmother is no longer with us, God test her soul, come here. You'll cry. It's like going to your Italian grandmother's house for dinner from the music to the food. It's good it's simple. The bread is Italian and soft. The dressing is special. I bet they make it in house. The salad not fancy just a simple dinner salad. Some ice berg and shredded cabbage. Now for the gnocchi. It's dense and the sauce just good marinara. I love it. I'm positively CHARMED.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
It's my best friends favorite place and we go there a lot! I absolutely LOVE their chicken Marsala he gets the baked mosticolli --- usually good service! Tonight had a great server but there's one we will not allow to Serve us but hopefully she's better than she's been to us before! Owner walks around and greets everyone- she's a very sweet woman. Before going with him I never been there but I won't go anywhere else for pasta - my absolute favorite Italian spot in the area! Prices very reasonable ans a full bar!

Karin E.

Yelp
I had heard great things about this place, decided to stop in. Hoping it was an off day for them. I'd recommend you skip the Steak Scilliano, it was gross: flat and dry, the owner/manager saw I didn't eat it and took it off my bill. Dinner guest had Tony's Trio and it was pretty good, average Italian food in my opinion. I doubt I'll give them another try as there are some great Italian places out there.

Lisa G.

Yelp
My favorite place for Italian food! An Eastpointe police officer actually recommended I try it here since he knows I love Italian food and I must say you will not be disappointed!! I drive from Ferndale all the way over here because the food is sooooo good!! The hostess knows me by name! If your looking for good authentic Italian food as well as reasonable prices and generous portions look no further!! My all time favorite is the Fettuccini Alfredo! Do yourself a favor and stop by here the next time you are in the area!! :)

Donald B.

Yelp
This is a great Italian restaurant. The food was amazing and the portions were plentiful. I had the veal parmigiana and it is now one of my favorites.

Heather W.

Yelp
By far my fav local Italian! Their pizza is my absolute favorite along with the antipasto salad and that dressing... no idea what they put in it but I could drink the stuff. Always a consistent and amazing meal.

Lynn G.

Yelp
If you love Italian food as much as I do I would highly recommend this place ! They have amazing food! No matter what I order here I am highly satisfied. Not once have I ever had a problem here ! My family and I are regulars here. I drive over from Ferndale because they are that good !! Check this place out if you haven't yet !! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This first visit to the Villa will make room for a second. The impatient woman that seated us was the reason more stars were not added, she was impatient and talked to us in a clipped tone. Once I politely let her know she would not be talking to us any kind of way she calmed it down.. but too little too late. Now to the important part.; the food, the meal was delicious. The antipasto salad was really good, their signature creamy Italian dressing was tasty as well. I was served a humongous portion of spaghetti and meatballs. My husband and children's deep dish looked amazing.. definitely coming back for the pizza. Our server was pretty loud, but we chalked that up to a possible hearing loss, she was so pleasant that her loudness became endearing. This was a Groupon buy and proved to be worth it for my family and the villa because we will return.

Tiffany M.

Yelp
This is truly a Eastpointe classic. Top notch Italian food at a reasonable price without compromising quality or flavor! My wonderful Aunt worked here almost 30 years and still dose!!! Now that's family style! So what will it be pizza, antipasto? Maybe the chicken parm or the Tuesday and Thursday specials? Whatever you may of had in mind or have your italian taste buds craving this Eastpointe staple is the spot to satisfy all your needs. The sauce... the sauce... so good. Promise just like your little old hypothetical italian grandma makes!!! I like how it has the back seating area that makes this place ideal for family gatherings or events. I grew up coming here celebrating so many things with family. Authentic Italian food in an old style Italian restaurant. Nice vast selection of beer and wine they have to offer as well. come see what its all about for yourself!

Kevin D.

Yelp
Every single item on this menu is 10000 times better than it is at the Olive Garden. Only Italian restaurant competing with this treasure is Luigi's. Been going here since I was a kid. Never had a bad meal.

Bianca C.

Yelp
One of the few authentic Italian places around / totally worth it! *some items are tweaked for American tastes but for the most part, spot on!

Amy H.

Yelp
One of my favorite local Italian restaurants. You cannot beat a good family owned place with a great pizza, especially if you like deep dish. They have a fantastic and generous antipasto salad and you can upgrade the dinner salad to this for a small price, you should definitely do that! I'm also a big fan of their chicken Marsala and chicken piccata. Not a veal eater so I can't speak to it. And their lasagna is to die for! Please support this family business if you're in the area by buying some carry out so they're still around when we have the pleasure of dining in again!

John T.

Yelp
A local gem! If you live in the city of eastpointe and you haven't tried this place you are really missing out. It is delicious. I ordered the ritoni joes. The Italian sausage was on point. It was really an excellent dish. The portion size was very generous and you get a soup or a salad as a side. My wife ordered the manicotti and she said it was very good also. I ordered take out and the staff was very friendly. Food was ready real fast. The price was fair and it's what you'd expect to pay at a place like this. Excellent experience overall. I will definitely return. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal.

Bill B.

Yelp
One of the best family owned Italian restaurants in Macomb County. Consistent quality and service is the hallmark of this restaurant. They've been in business since 1957.

denise m.

Yelp
Great reviews so we decided on this place instead of our usual scallopinis.. some items were good and some not so much. They could use an update, some things are outdated food and interior wise. Sauce was authentic and had good flavor. Veal was not pounded thin and was tough.

Brian L.

Yelp
Villa continues to run their great Monday/Wednesday special of a three topping pizza, antipasto salad, and pasta with meat sauce during the current pandemic. We ordered and paid over the phone and they brought it out to the car when we arrived. Great pizza! Their salad dressing is THE BEST! We will return to eat in the restaurant once they are able to open it again. They offer great entrees as well at very reasonable prices. This is a family-run place that's stood the test of time!

C C.

Yelp
Went in to order a large 3 topping pizza. The tables were full of diners enjoying their food. Service was great so I left a generous tip. Picked up my pizza to go but next time I'll dine in. The pizza was hot and delicious. Some of the best pizza around!

Rick T.

Yelp
The best Italian anywhere. I drive past multiple "highly" rated Italian restaurants to go there. You will not be disappointed!!

Debra B.

Yelp
Good food and good services traditionally Italian foods. Fresh and homemade ingredients. Pleasant atmosphere.

Tony T.

Yelp
Great Italian joint! Started off with mozzarella sticks which were good but the frozen type.. got it with a marinara sauce which was awesome... ordered the Tony Trio which came with fettuccine alfredo, lasagna and veal or chicken parmesan.. My girlfriend ordered a spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed ravioli with like a garlic cream sauce that was fantastic! The meals came with salad and breadsticks Can't wait to go back and try other dishes or even the pizza!

Fawn S.

Yelp
The best house dressing ever! Love going here for the salad and pasta. Atmosphere is great staff are friendly definitely a great place to eat!

Justina G.

Yelp
I LOVE THE VILLA! When you come in it has a cozy sweet italian style feel. Im italian so i just love it! If someone says lets go to olive garden i stop them in their tracks and tell them NO Were going to villa. Now to the good part!!! They start you off with a break basket! Warm bread.. Real butter and some seasame bread stick! But dont forget the oil for dipping! Throw some parmasian on the oil and its the best! I ordered the brushetta everytime even though they give you bread to start its to die for!! I upgrade my salad to a antipasto salad for $1.50 who can beat that? Thick slices of cheese fresh lettuce everytime and there AMAZING DRESSING! My favorite dish i get every single time is the manicotti with extra sauce &&& i get a side of meatballs! The meatballs are so good just like grandmas cooking!! And if you have any room which i never do.. But there was that one time i got italian ice. My mouth is watering writing this!

Lauralyn C.

Yelp
I think my sauce is better of course but it's generations handed down!! Ok, so I ordered the trio and shared it with my kids. I would go back for the salad, bread, and ranch. The sauce was ok, but in the future I probably won't order anything with it on it. I'm superrr picky about the 'gravy', sooo this didn't cut it for me. But by all means I'm not saying it's terrible or bad. I'm just used to superb authentic 'took-all-day-to-cook' gravy (sauce). Alfredo sauce was great and the chicken was great. The employees are what won me over the most though. I was with my two kids, 4 and 1. They both were extra fussy, but they were very accommodating, patient, and kind. The owner greets the customers and makes sure your satisfied. My waitress was very helpful and gave us great service. I will definitely return (without the kids)!!

Beth H.

Yelp
This place is the real frickin' deal! Find it when you are in the area. We were totally out of our stomping groungs and I turned to YELP for recommendations on where to eat. Unassuming exterior, small parking area and rear door entrance, had me uncertain we would stay, but we decided to give it a try based on the 4+ stars from each reviewer. With a warm greeting from our server, Val, we quickly settled and dug in. Ordering the fried cheese raviolis for an appetizer, Veal Parm dinner, and Lasagna for my husband. FAB-U-LOUS! The cream Italian-type house dressing on the dinner salad is as good as everyone says it is. The entrees were spot on - well done. But I still can't get over those frickin' fried raviolis! They had to be handmade and were perfect. I am about to drive out to Eastpointe again, just for the raviolis! Saying that service was great is an understatement. I play a little game with my husband, of what waitstaff I would steal and from where if we ever opened up an eatery and Val is now on my list. Professional, attentive, personable, and she clearly loves Villa and the restaurant family. I sent the poor woman on an impossible mission when I asked if the Italian Lemon Ice I wanted for dessert was dairy-free. (I was just curious) It was the perfect topper to an excellent meal. My husband loved his strawberry cheesecake. Can't wait to go back.

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Amazing traditional Italian food at reasonable prices. Never had anything on the menu that I didn't love. Pizza is great & love love love the linguini Romano. Staff always attentive & friendly, plus one of the owners always around to greet you and make sure that you are having a great experience.

Ingrid S.

Yelp
Awesome service, friendly staff, deeeeeelicious food!! I highly recommend this Eastpointe landmark!! So i made a carry out order, but when I got there, my order had just been picked up by someone else! The staff nearly fell over each other trying to help and remaking my food. They were so sweet, very apologetic. It turned out that the person who got my order had practically the same name as me! That never happens! How many Iggys are there? Well, speaking through a mask in a busy restaurant, my name sounded like his. Oh well, I didn't mind really. Mistakes happen, I have been a bartender and waitress. I understand how busy a Friday evening can get. I couldn't believe how wonderful the staff was when it was obviously an honest mistake. The owner even insisted that I take some dessert for my family! So nice! Love this place!!

Allison B.

Yelp
Seems like this place is going downhill. The bread they gave us was simply sliced Italian bread and the sauce was meh
