Villa Samadhi Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Explore & Book

"Villa Samadhi has an impeccable pedigree: being the sister hotel of the exclusive JapaMala Resort on Tioman Island, the same architects created this equally stylish city retreat. It’s therefore no surprise that Villa Samadhi nestles comfortably in KL’s embassy district without conforming to its chunky, uniform surroundings. The hideaway takes its name from the Sanskrit word for ‘tranquil’ and, indeed, its thatched pagoda roofs, lush gardens and bamboo screens disguise the outside world with ease. After 2 full days of exploring Kuala Lumpur’s bustling streets - tasting authentic street food at Jalan Alor, marvelling at the Batu Cave temples, bartering for mementoes at the Central Market, and getting lost in the botanic gardens - we were ready to unwind. Happily, Villa Samadhi more than fit the bill. The lagoon pool was impossibly enticing, our suite’s outdoor Jacuzzi tub beckoned, there's a rooftop spa, and we needed to watch the sunset, complimentary cocktail in hand. As incense wafted through the air, interrupted only by mouth-watering smells drifting from the restaurant, we soaked up that A-list celebrity feeling. Highs The smiling staff go above and beyond, and there are lots of little extras (free sunset cocktails)The best of both worlds, total peace and quiet yet ideally placed for exploring KL (you’re within walking distance of the Petronas Towers) Excellent on-site cuisine and a free shuttle service to the hotel’s 3 sister restaurants21 huge rooms with Asian-style décor; honeymooners will love The Loft with its rooftop pool and skyline viewExcursions to the countryside and the elephant sanctuary can be arranged by Travels with Samadhi Lows It’s a romantic couples’ retreat, so no twin rooms and children under 16 aren’t allowedAs with the rest of Malaysia, mosquitos come out in force in the evenings, but repellent is providedThere are just 21 rooms, so it can get booked up a long way in advanceFull payment is required on reservation" - Emily McDonnell

Villa Samadhi – A Samadhi Retreats Property (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It seems impossible, but smack in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, a city that gives new meaning to the word “bustling,” is a serene, luxe little hideaway called Villa Samadhi. Plenty of hip hotels seek to put their patrons in the metropolis’s glittering, garish nerve center. Here’s where to stay if you’d rather see trees than towers, hear coos rather than honks, be sedate rather than stimulated." - Tablet Hotels

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was cozy, spotless, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and feel at home. The atmosphere is beautifully designed with tropical greenery and a refreshing pool, creating a peaceful retreat. What really stood out was the excellent service – the staff were attentive, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. I truly enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming place to stay.

As a regular staycation person, I would say my short staycation at Villa Samadhi exceeded my guest and my expectations. I found this place online, an ideal place nearby for a short and quick getaway nestled in the heart of the city. One could not tell what is so special about this place until you enter the compound. From the outside, it looks like a regular bungalow or building. Upon entering, it transports you to a place where you would feel, as if you have landed in Bali. We were greeted and welcomed warmly by the staff from the moment we got out of our car. Bags were carried straight to our room. Welcome drinks and towels were served while waiting to be checked in. We came here for a birthday celebration. The management took the trouble to decorate the room and gave us a complimentary slice of cake for the occasion. Room was very spacious, with a spacious dressing area, and bathroom. There was also a private jacuzzi in the bathroom. It was luxurious, relaxing, and somehow eco friendly. There was no disposable plastic use. Everything was eco friendly. There were also complementary local fruits provided. Nice and quiet swimming pool (kids were not allowed in this place) to relax. The afternoon snack served was also good. Thai tea was served along with local kuehs. They were delicious. Upon evening, we were served cocktails. They was a variety of drinks to choose from, ranging from alcoholic to mocktails, and fruit juices. Light snacks were served too. The next morning breakfast was decent. Nasi lemak was good and the beef rendang was superb! Well cooked and tender yet very delicious to my liking. However, what fell short was the mee goreng and big breakfast for me. I didn't like the mee and the sausages given for the big breakfast. Overall, it was a great experience for my guest and I. If I could, I would give this place beyond a 5 star rating. A big thank you to Mr Arif and his team for making us feel so at home and comfortable throughout our short stay here. We totally enjoyed ourselves very much. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed and definitely plan to return again soon.

Villa Samadhi will whisk you away from the hustle and bustle of KL upon arrival through its bamboo gated entrance. Chic bohemian rooms open up to a circular courtyard with connecting pool. The hotel is mindful of its environmental footprint. We dined at the restaurant all three evenings of our stay and were not disappointed by the culinary expertise.|Cocktails at the bar were equally as delicious. We met the resident turtles Hercules and his two sidekicks who keep a mindful eye on the chefs micro garden. Staff are charming and knowledgeable. |Big shout out to Joyce, BK and Rafar…|Thank you 🙏🏻

Best hospitality, especially from Arif! His service was truly exceptional, from check-in to check-out, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He even helped take beautiful photos around the villa for us! A perfect weekend staycation for couples who want a quick escape without going too far, you’ll get those Bali vibes right here near KL.

It’s run down and needs some maintenance for sure. The stairs to the pool some of it can see almost falling apart. The ac is not cooling despite we’ve complaint about it. Ordered room service food and it’s been outside our room for 2 days without anyone pick it up. And the food with the price you’ve paid it’s really bad and disappointing. The quality is just not there at all. So, it’s not worth it.

Villa Samadhi is an oasis in the middle of KL. Our room was cool, spacious and stunningly beautiful. The vibe was chilled and relaxed. The pool and gardens were soothing and the Thai food was exceptional. What really makes Samadhi special are the staff. This starts with Adim at reservations who is kind and generous with her time and ensured our booking was just what we wanted. Aruni, the Villa manager, and her team were intuitive and attentive to every detail and worked tirelessly to ensure every expectation we had was exceeded. We can’t wait to return!

An amazing experience from start to finish, welcoming staff, spotless rooms, food and drink were fantastic. It was great to have a nice swimming pool and sun beds to relax by after a day’s sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was very tasty with lots of excellent choices and the staff serving were delightful.

Yelp
The Good: :: gorgeous setting. makes you feel you are not in the craziness that is Kuala Lumpur and instead are at a getaway in Bali :: service was very attentive and hospitable. they were all so friendly and responsive :: food was very delicious. i had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there for several days and wasn't disappointed :: cocktail hr that is complimentary is great! it's a subset of drink offerings but that's fine. it's a mixture of cocktails, spirits, and wines. you won't go wrong with any of them :: snacks left in your room. my favorite was the evening snack of banana bread balls that were fabulous :: the pool is gorgeous! it's not really for trying to get a tan since there is so much shade from all the trees, etc, but it is wonderful to sit by and read, or take a swim in :: the rooms are gorgeous. feels so authentic, all the warmth from all the wood and warm colors :: the bathroom is gorgeous. like...you are in a freaking amazing spa. there is a massive double-headed rain shower head as well as a massive hot tub with relaxing and soothing bath salts :: the pool is gorgeous. you cannot sit by the pool and not feel like a total baller. totally relaxing. :: they grow their own herbs! :: they have TURTLES!!!!!!!!! in an enclosed area by the herbs, they have turtles that are adorable. The Bad: :: no desk for those of us who need to work. however, because it's a place to really escape, i'm not going to fault them for not providing desks. it's not a Westin and that's expected! :: service by the poolside didn't really exist. i found i had to order at the bar to have drinks sent over, but not a huge deal since the bar is just a few seconds walk around the corner. :: the hot tub doesn't turn on when you want...they run it for everyone a few times a day. this was really odd to me, as i heard it kick on and was trying to turn it off, but when i called to speak to the front desk, they explained to me the way it works. seems like a possible waste of energy to turn it on several times a day if guests aren't using theirs? i did :) The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Most certainly would! It's a completely relaxing getaway that is a welcome change from the generic offerings of big-brand hotels. This place is IN.

Yelp
Some days you just want to get away from it all. And rather than spend on flights to travel to some exotic location, KL-lites can now check in at Villa Samadhi, a resort hotel in the heart of KL. Most people drive past it without even noticing it is there as this very private boutique hotel keeps its gates closed most of the time. Once inside, you will love the tranquility and the service, not forgetting the interesting rooms they have. This was formerly a small block of apartments which were converted into Villa Samadhi. Each room is different so you may want to check what you are booking. The most popular are the ground floor rooms that open onto the pool, so you can sit on your patio facing the pool, and just slip into the pool when you feel like having a dip. My room came with a jacuzzi, rain shower and a fish tank, with 4 resident fishes to keep me company! It's the little touches that add to the experience, like the little tray of local kuih (traditional cakes) that they bring to your room after you have checked in, and the complimentary cocktail hour at the rooftop bar between 5 to 6 pm where you can watch the sunset and it is hard to imagine that you are 5 minutes from the Petronas Twin Towers. Dinner is served in the dining room as well as by the poolside, which is a wonderfully romantic setting. Overall, this is a great place to take a break without having to travel too far and I am already looking for my next excuse to take a break.

Yelp
We booked a few days at Villa Samadhi. When arrived it seemed great but it was not what we had in mind. We decided to ask if we could get a refund and stay somewhere else. We were promised by the concierge that we would get a refund. However, after we had booked and moved to the other hotel they refused to give us the refund. If they had just said they could not give us a refund this situation would have been avoided.
