D.C.’s Mayor Wants to Okay Drinking in Public — With a Bunch of Caveats | Eater DC

"I can already wander around the Village at Leesburg with to-go booze in tow under the specially zoned alcohol-area approach that exists in parts of Northern Virginia." - Tierney Plumb

Drink Law Brings To-Go Cocktails to a Leesburg Mall | Eater DC

"Aiming to bring a small taste of Bourbon Street or Las Vegas to the sleepy Northern Virginia suburb, I found The Village at Leesburg — home to eateries like BurgerFi, Firebirds, and Plaza Azteca — is now letting visitors carry alcoholic drinks and shopping bags as they walk the center. Owned by Rappaport Management Company, the shopping center is the first Loudoun County outlet to tap a new Virginia ABC program that lets customers purchase a glass of wine, beer, or cocktails from participating restaurants to carry through designated areas, provided the drinks are in the disposable “Drink in the Good Life” cups and no outside alcohol is brought in. On-site restaurants allowed to sell to-go drinks include 5 Tara, BurgerFi, Eggspectation, Firebirds, Plaza Azteca, The Conche, Travinia, and the soon-to-open Vino Bistro and ChefScape; the center hosts over 60 stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues, though it’s unclear whether red wine will be discouraged at shops like White & Ivory jewelers. The change follows a state law permitting “lifestyle” shopping developments (at least 25 acres and 100,000 square feet) to let patrons stroll the site with alcohol." - Tierney Plumb

First time experience. We were welcomed with warm smiles, friendly conversation and gracious attitudes 😊 they heard me say happy anniversary to my husband and gave us a flavored tea to take with us because she heard I liked peach. 😊

Variety of food and live music. Family friendly with kids running around and a bar with food truck kind of options. Good for date night bringing a small kid out meet your friends for a drink and a snack.

Very nice mixed use shopping center. There are a ton of restaurant and ahopping options here. It is a nice mini community, with ample parking options as well. There are condos above the storefronts as well. Mid-high end area with a lot of nearby growth. There is also a Wegmans located in this plaza

By far the best place to go to in Leesburg. It has it all from great restaurants like Firebirds and Burger Fi to a top notch Wegmans, a classy spa, bowling, movie theater, clothing and much much more. Everything looks beautiful and its also just a lovely place to walk around. If you are in town and want something to eat or have fun this is your best bet. The parking is really spacious and lots of room to get in and out without paying. If you like sweets you are in luck with a cake shop, a bubble tea store, donut shop in the Village. CMX Theater is a very new well maintained theater at the end thats great for everyone. Right now door is a bowling alley, a pizza joint Wildfire and 5 tara Indian cuisine which is delish. Also includes a nice Ulta with a kind staff for makeup fans and a nice Spa that is very relaxing named Woodgrove Spa. This Village has it all! If you love a good burger check out Burger Fi - its killer. So much to do here and I might be selling it short. Go have fun walk see a movie eat laugh

Many restaurants, pickleball center/courts, a few dessert shops; not much shopping for other things (no clothes shops, purses, shoes, jewelry, etc. that I can remember); Oktoberfest at brewing area offered German Mosel River Valley wine tasting for free

Not the best that Leesburg has to offer is community with regard to shopping centers in my humble opinion. I sat this because I spent a good 45 minutes observing this location, and my conclusion was this location is dated. It looks more like a truck stop than a shopping center. Some of the store fronts had dated signs and it just didn't look appealing. Maybe this is not a shopping center, maybe this is an industrial place. However, the worn appearance of this site really begs to question why the property looks worn out and outdated versus other sites. And this is a particularly large site with some really good shops - but the buildings don't scream come inside we're open for business. At least not all of them do. There is a bank located here, a good eatery and a bike cafe, but just entering this property makes it feel like you're parking in a Park & Ride. The property looks underdeveloped and really needs to upgrade it appearance. And I really hope I don't offend anyone, but I travel and shop quite a bit, and what draws me to shopping centers are the appearance. I certainly workshop if noticed this location if it wasn't for the fact there is a business here I had to patronize, otherwise I wouldn't stop here at all because it's not noticeable.
