Village Bagel Review - Edwards - Vail - The Infatuation

"This spot makes the best boiled and baked bagels in the Valley, but that’s not the only reason we love it: Village Bagel brings that classic diner energy with its bright red banquettes and silver chrome chairs and stools. Always expect a line, and if there isn’t one, you should probably buy a lottery ticket. Along with a variety of flavors and housemade shmears, you can also order fresh-squeezed brunch cocktails, local beer, Sicilian-style pizza, and egg sandwiches and challah bread french toast through the early afternoon. They have a second location down the Valley in Gypsum, in case you make it that far west." - Kim Fuller

I pre ordered about a week ago 4 dozen bagels- salted, everything, chocolate chip and plain- when I picked them up they were all mixed together in the same bag. Just curious why you wouldn’t separate them into smaller bags so the chocolate chip bags doesn’t taste like an everything?? Anyways I do love this place- but now I have to take the time to separate them all and bag them accordingly.

Google
I got the everything bagel egg, cheese, and meat. I was very impressed with the amount of seeds on both sides of the bagel. The bagel was moist enough with the correct amount of salt to give it a balanced flavor. My wife got the meal and the eggs were cooked over easy perfectly. It's difficult to get anything cooked correctly in this neck of the woods, so it was much appreciated. Cool vibe too!

This is the premier bagel place in all of CO. Staff is super nice and friendly. We liked it so much that we can back the next day and it was just as good as the first time. It’s a must eat!

We’re from NY originally so can confirm that these bagels are legit. Not many places outside of NY get it right, but Village Bagel definitely does. Service and food quality was also excellent. We had egg sandwiches to stay and left with more than a dozen to take home. Now we can enjoy authentic bagels until our next trip to NY. Bravo!!

Google
The food here is pretty good but the atmosphere is dirty. During our visit, the trash can was overflowing, all the tables were dirty, and an ant was walking across one of the tables. Also, flies are often a nuisance here. The staff was just standing around chatting in the kitchen instead of cleaning up the place while traffic was slow. It was an unfortunate experience.

Google
The place has a great ambiance, from the outside it doesn't tells you much, but as you walk in it has this great NY Big apple vibe, the attendance is great, everyone seems to be having a great time doing they job, the bagels are good, I was specting the bagel to be the mind-blowing stuff, but they were just good, the stuffing was plenty and good quality. Hope it was one bad batch I got my hands on to.

Google
I got a bagel with smear, egg and meat bagel sandwich, loaf of bread, pastry and a latte for $33. The latte is quite small for $5, but I signed up and used the loyalty points so it was free. The points add up fast. I'm just passing through, so I imagine this is a little heaven for locals! Excellent fast service. Bagels get picked over, so go early.

Google
I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a maple sugar bagel and it was amazing! Service is great!

Yelp
I have been a fan of this establishment for so long. However, a couple years ago there was a new girl who started. I stopped supporting this business for a while, because this girl (Sarah? Serina? Something with an S ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) would serve me caffeinated coffee when I specified on my online order that I needed decaf for medical reasons (this happened frequently). I even asked her one time if the coffee she served me was decaf and she said in a sassy way "yes." The attitude was off the charts and I had a medical reaction because of the caffeine interacting with my medication. I decided to try the business again after a couple years and had the pleasure of being served by Hannah. She made sure that my coffee was decaf (without me asking!) and we ended up having the best breakfast bagel I've had (picture attached).

Yelp
Great pizzas, made with both bagels and focaccia bread. A highlight of Village Bagel. Also, great pastries are made at the location. Try the apple rugelach, which is sweet and delicious

Yelp
Went by this morning and ordered the NYC Upgrade to-go and it was delicious. The service was fast and I loved the ambiance of the place! It was a cute place to grab breakfast. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Great food, yummy smears. Not a fan of the taxes and fees they add without telling you though...first there was some hidden fee for the local river and now automatic gratuity for takeout orders. The food leaves a good taste but the hidden fees leave a bad taste.

Yelp
As a kid growing up in New York State and all family from NYC, I grew up eating bagels and lox as a treat every Sunday. It's hard to find a good bagel! We live in Arizona now and there's only one good bagel place I found there. We were in Edward's the other day as we are vacationing in the area and decided to try a bagel here. I had a plain, toast bagel with cream cheese and lox and I have to say, it was terrific! Very impressed! Most bagels you can get in a store or restaurant are pretty lousy....more like a round piece of soft bread with a hole in the middle. The Village Bagels are, IMO, excellent I'm gonna grab some to go tomorrow to bring home with me to AZ!

Yelp
Was in town for work and popped in for bagels a couple of mornings. I was pretty basic and got plain and onion bagels with the veggie cream cheese. The bagel was fluffy and chewy. The veggie cream cheese was sooooooo good. I wish I lived closer so I could try all the other flavors and the egg sandwich cuz that looked gooooooooooooooooood.

Yelp
Another shout out for Village Bagel. It is always a treat to come here. The bagels are outstanding and I really can't get enough of the NY upgrade. I would really love it if they would bring back the charcoal bagel though.

Yelp
Game creek bowl is delicious and a unique offering. Ambiance is meh but service is fast and kind

Yelp
One of the best places I ate at in Beaver Creek! They make the bagels and cinnamon rolls fresh in house. My favorite was the hatch green chili bagel toasted with hatch green chili cream cheese. It has a unique yet mild flavor that is worth trying. I also enjoyed the lox bagel, and grilled bologna bagel. Quick, tasty breakfast or lunch option.

Yelp
Amazing bagel shop! Wanted a casual bagel breakfast so decided to stop by this place even though it's past vail and beaver creek. It was totally worth it! I had the nyc upgrade and it was fantastic. The everything bagel was amazing and they had the right amount of every topping. They even topped it off with flaky salt which surprisingly wasn't too much salt with the smoked salmon already being salty. The cream cheese was also super fluffy and delicious. I also loved how finely shaved the onions were. We also tried the bacon egg and cheese and it was the best bec bagel sandwich ever. The eggs were the fluffiest we've had in a bagel sandwich and the sesame bagel was also awesome. Service was fast and wasn't too crowded on a Friday morning. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very busy place! The women at the register are always nice. Even though they're very busy! They were out of my favorite bagel one day. She told me it would be 25 minutes. So I ran an errand. Upon returning there was a line. I did get my bagel though!! Every time they've been great bagels and coffee.

Yelp
Great (small) spot to stop for homemade breakfast and treats. We picked up several flavors of bagels with cream cheese which they make fresh in house. Service is slowish but no issue at all as you can see the employees hard at work boiling fresh bagels and preparing several dishes at once. I had the garlic bagel with hatch green Chili spread and it was awesome. The bagel has the perfect texture with a chewy inside and the garlic outside the bagel was spicy and fresh. The green Chili spread is one of their most popular flavors and had a slight kick but really elevated the flavor for the sandwich! My sister tried the hatch green Chili bagel (which is topped with cheese) with the hatch green Chili spread and loved that as well!

Yelp
A surprisingly great bagel can be had here if you're patient enough to endure an inefficient service model that seems to be designed to frustrate. Get here early or your favorite bagels will invariably and perplexingly be sold out. Such has been the case the last three times I arrived for lunch and found an abundance of unpopular bagels and no sesame bagels. This method of inventory management --favored by bakeries worldwide-- has always puzzled me. Why not make MORE of the bagels people desire and FEWER of the ones that remain unsold when you close every day? I digress. If you're an early riser and crave a great bagel or bagel sandwich, Village Bagel makes a bagel as fine as any bagel shop in NYC. Interestingly, the last time sesame bagels were sold out early, I discovered one of the best items on the menu board isn't the bagels at all, but the generous slice of carb-heavy thick crust, square-cut Sicilian pizza. Yes, I said it. A single slice is a meal unto itself and ECEN BETTER than their bagels. Other delicious delicacies include an egg- bread that's very dense and delicious (cannot recall its name) and rugelach, a sweet Jewish baked delicacy not normally found in these parts. Try the apricot rugelach. It will change your life. Village Bagel sets out to prove great bagels aren't confined to big cities or delicatessens.

Yelp
Super fast service. We ordered coffee, breakfast sandwich, and a bagel for the road. Fast, tasty, very reasonably priced. I highly recommend

Yelp
Great bagels not the friendliest staff. The cashier was just nasty. We asked for sugar for our coffee and she gave us 2 and was all huffy puffy about it. Everyone has a bad morning but you have to leave a mark. As a business owner myself, word of mouth and routine clientele is key. Personally, I'm not sure how anyone can be in a bad mood in Vail.

Yelp
Truly Best bagels in Colorado - so good that when we fly back to Texas we bring a them with us. Friendly staff and great service. Wide variety of bagels and spears.
google avatar

Regan F.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab a bagel in Colorado. The green chili cream cheese on an everything bagel is my go to! Coffee is quality too. It always seems to be relatively busy when I come in on the weekdays
google avatar

Nanette R.

Yelp
Grab LOTS of napkins. Bagels were very greasy, leaking through the foil before I hit my vehicle. The everything bagel was extremely salty. Staff couldn't be bothered with a responsive greeting to my good morning, but warmly greeted the guys who came in after me. Received my order and said cheerfully have a great day, to which again, no response was given. Sorry to impose with my one sandwich order.

Yelp
Although far from New York, the bagels here are made New York style; hand rolled, boiled and then baked. To me these are the best bagels one can have, soft interior with a crunchy bite. The creations here are endless including breakfast bagels. They also have some specialty creations. I had a garlic bagel with sausage, egg and Swiss cheese. So freaking delicious! The staff is friendly and inside resembles a 50's burger and shake place, very vibrant. The coffee is also robust. If you are in the area and yearning for bagels, definitely come here, you will not be disappointed.

Charles S.

Yelp
Best bagels in Vail Valley. They also make great pizzas which you can get at Village Market.

Andy H.

Yelp
I love the bagels, the service is really slow.shouldn't take over 5 minutes from order to get a bagel
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
I first came across Village Bagel at the Vail Craft Beer Fest; probably like 4 years ago, and it has because a staple anytime I am in the area! They make excellent bagels, you naturally must go with everything...is there even any other bagels in this world worth acknowledging?? Haha no honestly I'm sure their other bagel flavors are fine; but you'll never see me order anything besides everything! Today I got a meat, egg, cheese sandwich and it was loaded, delicious, meaty, cheesy, everything you would hope and dream it is. And more! I also got a vanilla oat milk latte, and I'm going to be honest. I think that was the best latte I have had in a straight minute! This was the perfect drive back to denver meal and I couldn't be happier! If you are passing through you absolutely must stop in!
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
Went in for brunch, I got the turkey club on a garlic bagel with green chili cream cheese instead of the aioli. It was fantastic! Service was fast and although the inside is a bit small, it's cozy and it was fun watching the workers make bagels! I'll definitely go back!
google avatar

Maria Jo N.

Yelp
Om nom nom nom! Oh wait, that's not a full review... These bagles are so good, and not just by mountain standards. They are just freaking delicious! I've gotten hooked on the charcoal everything with a little honey lavender schmear and honey lemme tell you it's a treat. I usually try to grab a bag of day olds too if they've got them because it's a good deal and they still taste great out of the toaster a few days later. Their non-bagel offerings are also very good. The pizza rolls are nothing like the freezer aisle rolls of my childhood and soooooooo bomb. It can get a little busy at prime bagle times and people wiser than me seem to take advantage of ordering ahead quite successfully, but there's just something about looking into that case of goodies that gets me.
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
Ordered ahead- a platter w/ a green Chile bagel & charcoal w/ avocado bagel. Plus a mimosa . Ready when I got there & everything was excellent.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Great bagels! Excellent customer service. Tasty coffee drinks! Love it. Excellent local vibes.
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
Great place for bagels! The cream cheese smears taste great and are ample. Can easily split one bagel with a smear between two people. Small seating area, and many customers in and out the doors.
google avatar

REN S.

Yelp
Food was great! Best bagel and lox I've ever had in all of Colorado. Music blasting sucked. It was like heavy metal meets electronica. Employees were terrific.
google avatar

Kendra L.

Yelp
Wow!!! What an amazing breakfast. I got the NYC Upgrade and it was heaven. The everything bagel was delicious -- perfectly crusty and yum. The smoked salmon was perfect -- the tomato was Ruby red and gorgeous. I seriously kept making nom nom noises the entire time I ate! And the coffee was fantastic, too! We will soo be back! Sorry I dug in to fast and furiously to snap a pic.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Wow!!! The freshest, fluffiest, must delicious Bagels I've ever eaten. Really cute place for breakfast. We got plain, everything and chocolate chip Bagels plus a container of cream cheese plus one breakfast sandwich. I can't speak to the sandwich because my family ate it so fast that I wasn't quick enough to get a bite ... it must have been good! The cream cheese and Bagels are so good that even full you want more.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
The friendliest staff serving up hot and fresh hand rolled bagels and sandwiches! They also make homemade challah bread!

Brandon L.

Yelp
I never feel welcome here. Foods great, expensive...but they don't really hook up locals though
google avatar

Liz F.

Yelp
Don't pass this spot up! Fantastic bagels in lots of flavors baked fresh throughout the morning that you can pair with their homemade spreads. The salt bagel with honey rosemary cream cheese is my JAM! They're also the only boil & bake bagel place around and damn does it make a difference.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
Local bagel joint - you can watch them make the bagels fresh right at the counter! Nice staff and good tunes. Ordering is grab and go style but there is room for about about dozen people to sit if you want to munch inside. Awesome bagel sandwich - we got the turkey club and nyc. Will be back for more - check out this spot if you're in town looking for a memorable bagel experience!
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
We stopped by to pick up lunch sandwiches before 4wheeling. We didn't get to eat them until a couple hours later, and they were AMAZING. The bagel was perfect, and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, even 2 hrs later! The shop was very clean, and they were all very friendly. They were also FAST! HIGHLY recommend.
google avatar

Shayla T.

Yelp
Great place for bagels! The service is wonderful and very fast. Don't pass it up if you're in town.
google avatar

Hallie M.

Yelp
A must-stop if we're having breakfast in the valley! Bagels are delicious. I always keep it simple with a sausage, egg, and cheddar on an everything bagel. I would definitely say they live up to the New York Style hype. Definitely be cautious of what time you arrive, especially on a weekend. It's a known great spot so you might be waiting 20+ minutes for your bagels if you don't time it correctly. Which is expected when you're the only quality bagel place around. The staff is so friendly and it's cool being able to see them whip up the bagels behind the counter.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
Place is nice and cozy, busy, clean, friendly. Staff is nice, took order fast, i had take out so it was quick to deliver. As far as food quality goes, i can only compare to Avon Bakery. In my opinion Avon bagels are better in taste. They are also larger, and feel more fluffier, less dense. I also had Village Bagel Challah, this was great. This one is better in my opinion from Avon. Also Village Bagels are NOT advertised as organic, so if you care about it, be informed. Price wise, not sure i quite understand my bill. Should have asked, but too late now.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Staff Extremely expensive for a bagel sandwich that was burnt, had one and a 1/2 pieces of bacon and an over cooked egg that only covered half the sandwich.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
All I can say is wow. I found village bagel on social media when planning a trip to Vail and I made a point to try their bagels and I was not disappointed. The bagels are so good and traditional. The cream cheese is some of the best I've ever had, lots of veggies and flavor! Many options to pick from. The fresh squeezed orange juice was awesome and squeezed right in front of you. This is a must for breakfast if you're around eagle/vail area!
google avatar

Joshua L.

Yelp
Great, fresh bagels. We had two breakfast sandwiches and lattes. They were delicious.
google avatar

Gregory K.

Yelp
I live in Edwards and I go here weekly. Their bagels are the real deal and a bagel sandwich will fill me up for a full days outing. My favorites include the Village Beet, the salt bagel with honey rosemary shmear, their everything bagel with egg and hatch green chili shmear, and their pizza. Also their coffee is outrageously good. A+ spot for breakfast.

Nan H.

Yelp
Crazy flavors of fresh bagels, good coffee, and unpretentious atmosphere. It's a local's favorite. The long lines attest to how good these bagels are, and they are generously covered with whatever you order. We never miss a chance to take out or eat in.
google avatar

Lana L.

Yelp
Glass Shattering Good! First: Small places are often the best places. Second: Get the French toast! Third: The Drip Coffee is excellent. (This is coming from a Seattleite). Fourth: Bagels are legit. Nice and chewy. I had the lox bagel (NYC upgrade) and the scallion cream cheese wasn't too oniony. My daughter got a bagel with peanut butter on the side and the PB looked as if it were fresh ground and they lovingly hand-stirred it. Fifth: Kombucha on tap. My family was in such good spirits munching on our breakfast that our exuberant hand clapping knocked a glass right off the table. They came over immediately had two staff members cleaning it up and didn't make us feel badly. Go Here
google avatar

Ian C.

Yelp
Great place for Bagels. We went both days we where in town. Friendly staff and quick service. Also, the French toast is delicious.
google avatar

Lexi F.

Yelp
The service certainly wasn't quick but the bagels were amazing and it always feels good to support local! We would definitely order here again, but might try to order ahead next time.

Jason D.

Yelp
Ordered an egg, bacon, and cheese on a bagel - dryer than the Sahara. Do you enjoy a mouth full of sand? If so, come to this place and receive a bagel with burned bacon, overcooked egg and cheese that will not melt no matter how hot the bagel may be. The sit down experience is quite mediocre. Has an interesting feel to it. Almost like a 60's diner and a modern vegan restaurant from LA had a child. Along with all of this, they were somewhat rude.

Regan H.

Yelp
So incredibly goooood. Fast service, AMAZING bagels and egg sandwiches. Can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Dustin F.

Yelp
It's rare that you find a good bagel place outside of New York (I know - cliché), but even more rare when it's in a small mountain town. However, this place is fantastic. The bagels are incredibly fluffy with incredible texture and the sandwiches are even better. This is a homerun bagel deli - and I'll be here everyday during my Beaver Creek trip!
