This is how it happened - after an afternoon SEC football game, my friends and I ubered from downtown to Night Shift. They had a wedding, we were starving, and we headed towards Bone Up. We saw Village and were so excited! It was like an Oasis in the desert seeing as it was late at night, we're in the middle of nowhere, and I knew Bone Up didn't have much food selection. We get in there and the place looks nice! Large, open areas, plenty of nice seating, a nice looking bar, and positioned between a bunch of craft breweries made me think this place had to be great. First thing I SHOULD have noticed was how empty it was on a Saturday night. I feel like being the only food place in the middle of the fermentation district should make you able to print money. Second, they had none of the beer from either Night Shift, Bone Up, or Down the Road (also no Short Path gin). What gives? Also - no pitchers of beer, just a bucket of 6 Bud Lights for $25. We put in our order. And waited. And waited. I'll be honest I can't say definitively how long we waited. our table of four guessed it somewhere within the 30-45 minute wait area. Mind you, there was no more than 5/6 other tables of people. When I got up to talk to the waiter, the next table over, in fact, beat us to it. They wanted to cash out for their drinks because they were waiting for their food. They paid for their drinks, at a discount with the manager's apologies, and left. I told the manager I wanted the same but let him look in the kitchen for our food. Wouldn't you know it - our food came out. He gave us 50% off the check, which was nice, but two of my friend's food was absolutely cold. I can't say how much disappointment I have - they are in the PERFECT spot - their food was okay, but being where they are between all these breweries should be easy money. They just messed up all around. What a joke - sad!
