Stumbled on this place a few weeks back. And have continued to come back. Their food is really good. Also they have a great lunch special. Love their vegetable samosas.

I love coming here. They have great tasting food and excellent service. They also play good music in the background and it's not too loud. I love coming for lunch with my sister. They have great lunch specials (you can spend more at McDonald's but it won't be as nutritious, delicious, or filling than here!) The cashier is very friendly and will come check on you. Definitely recommend.

Village Indian Cuisine - Indian Restaurant & Catering San Diego, California There are numerous Indian restaurants in San Diego County, but this particular restaurant is kind of a hidden gem. The food is delicious and flavorful. The staff members are great and are always friendly. They answered all my questions about certain dishes. Typically, we order takeout, but we decided to dine in this time to see what the service was like and also try new Indian dishes we have never tried before. The restaurant itself is a nice size and decorated nicely. There is plenty of seating. You will need to order at the counter first. The food has always been great, and this was the same. This time, we ordered the following. Appetizers - Gobi Manchurian Fried Cauliflower Mixed With Manchurian Sauce - Vegetable Samosas Vegetarian Turnovers Stuffed With Potatoes, Peas, Mild Spices. Main Course - Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Cooked In Creamy Onion And Tomato Sauce - Paneer Tikka Masala Paneer Cooked In Creamy Tomato And Onion Gravy - Bengan Bharta A puree of tandoor baked eggplant cooked with peas and herbs Dessert - Gulab Jamun Milk Dough Balls Dipped In Sugar, Nuts, And Raisins - Ras Malai Milk Cheesecake Indian Style Laced With Pistachios And Thickened Sweet Milk We had a fantastic experience with delicious food and excellent service. They even gave us a complimentary rice pudding to bring home with us, which was delicious.

Delicious. The Marsala is amazing. All their sauces are tasty. Naan is delightedly delicate and tender. Scrumptious. The saag is full of flavor. Spice is just right for the American palate. You may add more if needed. Atmosphere is clean, but somewhat sterile. A few decorations and Indian cable is on the television. A great place for Indian food.

Place makes some AMAZING food! Lunch Special for $13?! I make two meals out of it so it only ends up costing me $6.50 per meal. The staff are polite. Clean restaurant. Quick service. Will DEFINITELY be coming back soon and will update with pics before I eat it 😅 Update: 2nd time there. Polite staff, delicious food, and quick service! This was at 2:00 PM on a Monday. This time I got something where I could choose the spice level, it seemed like an 8 to me 🙂

The best Indian food I’ve ever tried. Everything was delicious. I ordered double chicken with rice and a cucumber salad. It comes with freshly baked naan bread, oh so delicious. The flavors of the plate just work so well. I come here whenever I’m working in the area.

First time here & food was AMAZING! The vegetarian options are awesome. Restaurant is clean, the cashier/server Navdeep was welcoming & helpful, greeted us as soon as we walked in, while he was assisting another customer. This will be our go-to restaurant!

Everytime I've been here, it has been a party for the taste buds! The staff are great, even though it's counter service they still bring the food to your table and do check-ins on how everything is or if anything else is needed, as well as clean up of used dishes. We got the Vindaloo Chicken and the Lamb Seehk sausages and both were very well spiced/season and perfectly cooked. The Vindaloo just fell apart in your mouth. We also ordered the garlic Naan, made fresh to order, very fluffy, great taste, and light!

Been coming here for 10+ years, and food is always like a feast! Our favorite is the butter chicken with garlic naan, chicken 65, and lamb vindaloo. But anything we've had is good. Service is attentive and friendly... and they finally serve beer!

Tried Village Indian Cuisine for the first time and opted for their lunch special. It was on point! The special included naan, basmati rice, cucumber salad, and two choices of meat. I went with the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken--both were absolutely buzzin'! The flavors were a perfect balance of spices, creating a true party in my mouth. The dishes were slightly spicy, which added just the right kick without being overwhelming. The naan complemented the meal well. The cucumber salad provided a refreshing contrast to the rich, flavorful meats. The ambience and the service were standard, but the food definitely outshines! Overall, a solid spot for a tasty lunch!

We have had delivery from the village Indian over 10 times through gub hub. It's the best consistent Indian food outside of india if not better. Our favorites are the butter chicken, jelfrazi, biryani, eggplant, korma. The rice is perfection I can't do rice like this it's amazing. The portions are great for sharing and the best bang for your buck. Three curries with rice can feed at least 8 people. Cannot recommend enough.

I come here during the weekdays for their lunch special. Great price and big portion. They have fountain drink refillable by customer. They also have samosas- huge- comes with 2 pieces and two sauces- I think a mint and tamarind chutney. Friendly customer service. Attentive. Parking lot is small tho. There's a gender neutral bathroom inside. Lunch specials is weekdays only- no weekends or holidays. $13 for salad, rice, naan, & 2 curries. Drink not included.

Ahhh classic scammin. Charged me $2 extra for what they stated on the menu is included in the lunch special. Never come here it ain even good not even lyin. Not even of Indian subcontinent descent no where near n I can make better food than them w/o the finessin...

I've been here twice now, both times this has been my favorite Indian spot in SD, apart from home. I got the butter chicken and palak paneer, both of which are solid choices! I got the medium spiciness and it was a really good balance. The vegetable samosas are okay here, albeit it isn't much favorite food. The garlic Naan is definitely a must. There isn't much seating, as it's not sitdown so it might be better to take out for home. The staff here are incredibly nice and helpful!

We've been here a couple of times and order take out often. We have tried Samosas Garlic Naan Bhatura Saag Paneer Tandoori Chicken Chicken Vindaloo Chicken Biryani Chicken Tikka Massala Mango Lassi Our go to order is the chicken biryani, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. The Bhatura is so crispy and flavorful, not greasy at all. The garlic naan is so soft, you can taste it is freshly made. Tandoori is a bit dry. Mango Lassi is delish and refreshing using real mangoes, no artificial taste nor sugary and well balanced with the yogurt. This is a hidden gem and more delicious than fancier Indian apots along Miramar Road. We only wish they would bring back their buffet.

I love this place!!! The food is always delicious and I can always find gluten free options. My daughter also enjoy the mango lassi with her meal.

best indian food in town! chicken biryani is sumptuous! chicken is very tender. best mango lassi ever! they offered us a complimentary dessert - not on the menu but it sure made the entire meal absolutely satisfying! @Navdeep - thanks for letting us try that dessert! been to several indian resto to compare - but this place tops my list!

Our favorite spot for Indian food. After trying various spots literally all over the city, we've finally discovered the spot for Indian food. Staff is very understanding and caters to customers needs. We like our food to be made without cream and excessive oil. And yet food is extremely flavorful. Good quality food Very flavorful It's the spot if you're craving Indian.

Everything is just perfect in this Indian restaurant. The place is super clean, service is fast. Food is delicious. Amount of food is very good! Price is great! The mango smoothie definitely outstanding!!! I really recommend iVillage Indian Cuisine!

Solid lunch special. 13 dollars. I didn't like how you can't substitute naan for garlic naan and pay a little extra. They were kind enough to give it to me, but I know that's not going to always be the case. Curries were good and meats were decent. Better than some other indian spots I've been to in san diego.

Great food. Navdeep took care of us. We dined in and the food was hot and delicious! It's a small spot and only a handful of tables but tons of people came in for take out while we were eating. Definitely recommend! I got the butter chicken, my mom got the tandoori chicken and my sister got the chicken korma. All very good

WOW! I have never tried Indian food, EVER but one of my best friends picked this spot for us on a whim & I was so nervous. When trying new things, especially new food places it's always a risk of even liking the food, but the establishment also matters! When we walked in everything was so clean, you would have thought we were the first people in that day. Navdeep greeted us at the register & let us take our time looking at the menu. I asked Navdeep for his recommendation as a first timer & he recommended the chicken tikka masala (spice levels are 1-10 so I got a 7). WOW, WOW, WOW was all I could say as I tried each bite. FOOD WAS AMAZING. Luckily for me this establishment is a short detour from work to home so I will most definitely be back for more. Servings are generous & service was great. Navdeep checked in on us a couple times & I saw as he kept the place sparkling clean making sure to tend to tables as customers left. If I could give more stars I totally would. This place is a must & a new favorite for me.

Just walking into the restaurant, you could smell the spices from all the food cooking. Navdeep was so helpful!! The food is beyond great and has so much flavor! I asked Navdeep about the mango lassi, he recommended it. Trust me when I say, their mango lassi is to die for. If I could describe it in words, sooooooo delicious. I came from Vegas, and this is the closest homestyle Indian food it could get. Will be coming back when I'm in town!!

This place is located in a little shopping plaza right off Clairemont Mesa Blvd, and if you drive too fast, you will miss it. I usually do take out and only ate once in the restaurant. The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty. It is pricey but worth the flavor. My favorite thing to get is the butter chicken med spice and cheese Naan. The butter chicken comes with rice, but you have to get the Naan. I should really try more dishes, but I don't come here that often, so I just get my favorite dish. The people here are really nice so you should try it.

The Indian food no more buffet, but I knew that and I ate outside and it was pretty good. Good flavor like really good flavor like oh that's really good Indian flavor like damn I can taste the streets of Mumbai and the smells of Bombay.

Food is good,huge and fast service. They are very generous and I had free sweet rice. The price is fair and reasonable. Additionally, the place is clean and big perfect for excellent dining. Will come back again!

First time here with the husband and really loved the friendly customer service. We were greeted very kindly at the door and the staff is very friendly and nice. We ended up getting the vegetable samosas and chicken tikka masala. The samosas came with two dipping sauces and over filled with potato and peas. They were delicious and very well portion sized. The chicken tikka masala was nice and creamy! We will definitely be back to try the other dishes. Oh and their mango lassi is also very creamy and smooth, lots of mango flavors!

This is our go-to Indian restaurant and for good reason. The portions are huge, for starters, and everything is so fresh and tasty. Our favorites are the karahi chicken, samosas, and the chana masala (the chana masala is the only way that my husband will willingly eat vegetarian). I've also gotten the mango lassi and the kheer which are great desserts if you have room for it. We typically get take out, but we did eat in once. It's a pretty basic dining room, but there's plenty of space and it's clean. My husband is there getting more takeout as we speak!

My daughter recently moved to this area, and we've already dined three times at this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is excellent. My husband and I love their Biryani Rices. They're super spicy but we like that. If you're not a fan of very spicy foods, make sure to ask them to make it mild/er because they don't ask. We're looking forward to our next visit which I hope will be soon.

My family visited this restaurant yesterday evening. We ordered a few different dishes. I got the chicken tikka masala with mild spice, plain naan, and mango lassi. The mango lassi was smooth, delicious and not overly sweet. The tikka masala was so good! The chicken wasn't dry and the sauce was so creamy and flavorful! Would definitely have to get it again. Navdeep was very helpful and friendly. He took the time to go over all of our orders and made sure we were doing well throughout our meal. I would like to come back during their lunch as I saw they had lunch specials Monday thru Friday. Overall, such a nice place. Would highly recommend!

Came here with a craving for butter chicken and tikka masala chicken and we were very happy with everything. Navdeep was very nice and friendly; he checked on our table several times even though we let him know we wanted to-go since we just wanted to take a few bites and go. He also gave us some kheer to try and it's delicious! The space was clean and comfortable with lots of seating. Food came quickly. The last time we were here was precovid and things have changed quite a bit (no more buffets but we noticed every restaurant pretty much got rid of those) but the food is still delicious and we will be coming back again. (Maybe for their lunch special, I see a sign saying there are $13 specials!)

My son and I came here for dinner (first time here) and OMG the food here is soooo good!!! We got veggie samosas, garlic naan, and my son ordered his usual Chicken Tikka Masala and after considering and asking about the mango chicken dish, I decided on Bengan Bharta (the only way I'll eat eggplant lol). The samosas were sooo good but a lil spicy for me cuz I'm so wimpy. The Tikka was mild (which is how we ordered it) and really nicely flavored but the bengan bharta was also a lil spicy for me. The guy at the front (Navdeep) came by to ask how was everything and specifically asked how was the spice level, so I let him know everything was really delicious but mine was a lil spicy for me cuz I'm such a spicy food wimp... Then I ordered some of the regular naan and when he brought it out he also brought out a little dish of the mango chicken entree which he said was milder and OMG it blew me away!!! It was SOOO delicious!! Sweet and savory at the same time and amazing!! And y'all, he didn't even charge me for the added naan or mango chicken which was unexpected and so gracious!! Everything was just fantastic. And thank you SO MUCH to Navdeep for your excellent service!! I think this is the first time I've ever done a Yelp restaurant review but I really wanted to recommend this place!!! Try this place!!

Would definitely recommend this place! We were craving butter chicken and gave this place a try. We ended up getting garlic naan, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala - everything was delicious! Service was fast and friendly!

The lunch special here is the best in San Diego. You get rice, a choice of a meat curry, choice of veggie curry, cucumber salad, and naan bread for $13. The portions here are big enough to get you full until dinner. I was greeted by Nandeep who had really good customer service. He even gave me a complimentary rice pudding which was the perfect way to end my delicious lunch. Check out Indian village you won't regret it .

We came here for dinner because we had a synergy gift card and they accepted it and we wanted Indian food. We ordered the Saag Paneer and Tikka Masala with chicken. The tikka masala sauce was delicious and the chicken was pretty good - not dry. I just wish the pieces were smaller. We needed a knife to cut the pieces. The saag paneer was okay. Lots of sauce but not much paneer. Portion was good for the two of us plus leftover enough for one of our lunches. This was a casual place where you order at the counter and then seat yourself. Clean and bright. Service was okay. Not very friendly when we went. Prices are reasonable. Parking was easy on this Saturday evening. Probably does more of its business on weekdays.

Food is delicious. The chicken tikka masala and the veggie korma were saucy and served in large portions. The chicken tikka is on the sweeter side. The lunch special includes a cucumber salad and white basmati rice and naan. Speedy service and decent seating space for a small group. Perfect for a solo to 4 person group lunch. The service is great and they help you with an expansion of their dishes if your not familiar with Indian cuisine. We'll definitely be a regular in my lunch rotation.

So gooooood, and full of flavor!! Stopped in for lunch with some coworkers and may have found my new lunch spot. The lunch specials are really well priced and you get a lot of food!!!! Everything was delicious. Everyone loved their food!!! Great food, big servings all for a great price!!!! If you like spice or heat, just make sure you tell them what level you want, otherwise it's pretty mild.

Worst Indian food I've had in California. It was like eating boiled food with no salt. The prices are also steep. The ambiance is like eating in a gas station. The 7 eleven next door definitely would have better food than this place. Please do yourself a favor by not wasting your money here.
