The 38 Best Kuala Lumpur Restaurants | Eater

"This restaurant is located in a corner of Damansara Uptown, which is known for its great food and gridlock traffic. Go for the famed nasi lemak. Along with the usual coconut rice, egg, sambal, and anchovies, the secret to this extraordinary rendition lies in the ayam goreng rempah, juicy deep-fried chicken seasoned with curry leaves, turmeric, lemongrass, and cumin, all beneath extra layers of crunchy batter mixed with spices. Finally made the trip to Village Park in Uptown! The famous Nasi Lemak definitely lives up to the hype—it is perfectly balanced. The sambal isn't too spicy, sweet, or salty; it sits right in the middle and pairs perfectly with the rice and fried chicken. We also ordered the Rendang Kerang (cockles) to share, which was amazing and had a really balanced taste as well. The Kaya Toast and soft-boiled eggs were standard, a decent add-on if you want variety. I arrived around 11:30 AM and the queue took about 15–30 minutes, but it was absolutely worth the wait. Despite the crowd, the service is efficient and the food arrives very fast. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is highly rated, so I took a taxi there to try it when I had some time. Their Nasi Lemak is very famous, it is their signature dish. Rice is fragrant and rich, yet fluffy and not too greasy. The rice has a subtle coconut milk aroma. The chicken is fried to a perfect crisp, with a crispy bits sprinkled with spices. The meat inside is still juicy and tender. The chicken is rich in spice flavor and pairs perfectly with the Nasi Lemak. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The menu doesn't just include Nasi Lemak. There are other options such as noodles and bread to suit different tastes. Service is relatively fast, especially when taking orders and serving food. The restaurant is clean and bright. Because it's very popular, there's often a queue. There are many tables, but it can get crowded. You likely have to share a table with strangers. The location isn't very convenient and not near city; need to take a taxi to get there.

Village Park truly lives up to its reputation! Their nasi lemak is incredibly good, fragrant rice, rich sambal, and perfectly cooked ingredients. It’s arguably one of the best nasi lemak spots in Petaling Jaya. They offer a great variety of side dishes and traditional kuih-muih, making the dining experience even better. And the highlight? The fried chicken berempah, crispy, flavourful, and an absolute must-try! If you’re a nasi lemak lover or simply enjoy authentic Malaysian flavours, Village Park is definitely worth the visit. Highly recommended!

The ayam goreng nasi lemak RM13 was pretty enjoyable. The rice came hot and fragrant with a nice coconut flavor, and the chicken leg was perfectly fried—crispy on the outside and full of tasty spices. The sambal wasn’t too spicy, leaning more towards sweet with a light tang, which made it easy to enjoy. All together, it was a simple, comforting local favorite that really hit the spot. Add sayur- cabbage, french beans RM4 per serving. Note: Limit 30mins dining time due to the long queue.

I ordered their famous Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng. The sambal leans towards the sweet side, which wasn’t really to my taste as I prefer it spicier. However, the condiments were complete—peanuts, anchovies, cucumber, and a boiled egg. I would highly recommend their curry noodles instead. It was delicious and reminded me of the traditional curry noodles commonly found at local food courts. The service was moderate. Since we were seated on the second level, there were no staff or waiters around to call if we needed anything. If you come early, you may not need to queue. By the time I finished eating, there was already a long line outside. I’d recommend coming before 8:30 am to avoid the crowd.

Very nice Nasi Lemak! Fried chicken drumstick is juicy and tender. The best is the sambal chilli. Not too spicy and have a fragrant aroma of spices. Service is very fast despite the crowd.

Food: 5/5 Stars Fried chicken was almost impeccable, truly crispy outside and tender inside. Rice was fragrant and well cooked, with peanuts and anchovies just nicely fried, as well as the fresh yet chilling cucumbers. Of course the mouth-watering sambal was the soul of the whole cuisine. Surprisingly, not thirsty after the meal. Highly recommended! Environment: 3/5 Stars The seating arrangement was quite congested and pretty noisy. However, overall it was clean, neat and cosy. Service: 2/5 Stars Dishes serving was swift. However, waiters were impatient and didnt bother to explain too much about the menu. Also kept rushing us to pay the bill even before we finished the food. Parking: 1/5 Star Extremely difficult to find parking around. Price: 4/5 Stars Prices were reasonable, and only subject to SST (no extra 10% service charge). Overall: 3/5 Stars

Last week I was lazy to cook n also lazy to go out n buy dinner for my family. We wanted to have Village Park Nasi Lemak from uptown as our dinner. We have not eaten this nasi lemak for weeks n suddenly all 3 of us were craving for their signature nasi lemak n their fried chicken drumstick. So as early as 3.30 pm we ordered 3 pax of their nasi lemak with their special aromatic fried chicken. We ordered this early cos last week usually it would start drizzling in the evening. To avoid this , we ordered early so that the Grab could deliver to us before the rain started. We waited for their kitchen to open n then we placed our order. The Grab delivery came within 30 minutes. The nasi lemak was still warm when it reached us. In the evening before we ate, we reheated our packets of nasi lemak in the microwave. The nasi lemak was very aromatic - rich in coconut milk. The peanuts n fried ikan bilis were extremely crispy n fresh. The fried chicken drumstick was so crispy n full of flavours from the various n rich spices used in marinating it. The sambal was super sambalicious. The half of the hard boiled egg was soft n still moist. Everything tasted wonderful. What an amazing dinner it was for all the 3 of us.
