Where To BYOB in LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Don’t trust anyone who turns down pizza and beer. This Larchmont favorite is one of the more reliable pizza-by-the-slice spots in the city, and its BYOB policy is just a little icing on the cake. While pretty much any pizza is good here, the power move is the clam and garlic pie. And your previously purchased booze of course." - brant cox

Google
Stumbled upon this spot while walking around Coronado during December month, very busy crowds for sure. We got the garlic knots and small Napoli pizza. The knots were a little raw on the inside, and cooked on the outside, the marinara made it much better in my opinion. The pizza was nothing special, not salty enough, but the dough was pretty good. Overall not too bad for the price, and service was very fast considering it was super busy. Staff was very cool and would come again to try other items off the menu.

Google
amazing tasting pizza, probably top 5 in san diego in my opinion. Whitestone is definitely top. You also have the og Pepperoni/Cheese that's always good. Amazing and friendly staff as well. Ryan is highly professional who has helped our group place orders, decide what to get, also with top recommendations numerous times after the beach! Autumn was very accommodating when it came to exploring other options when they were sold out of the pizza of the month. We come here every couple of weeks and will continue to do so!

Rick G.

Google
We had the deep pan pepperoni pizza and the double sausage calzone. Outside seating is probably more comfortable. The bugs are just as bad inside as out. The restrooms being in the back of the building in the alley is a major detractor. Take out and deliver may be the best options.

Christina H.

Google
Fun little pizzeria not far from the Hotel Del Coronado on Orange Street. We ordered a build your own small half pepperoni / half sausage pizza to go. It was a decent pizza, but not my favorite. I would say it's better than your regular pizza chains. The crust was lovely - soft and chewy while the sausage had some kick (spicy), which was a nice touch. I ordered extra sausage and they were very generous. It was VERY light on the cheese and the red sauce wasn't the type I enjoy - almost sweet tasting. That being said, pizza flavors are often personal and other people's taste buds may enjoy it more.

Google
I was craving a margherita pizza and was going to get one at the hotel Del. However, Village Pizzaria was along the way so I thought I'd try them. It was good but not the best I've had (the best margherita pizza is at the Fountainebleau in Vegas). This version is salty and very garlicky. But it was saucy, which is how I like it. I got a small, which was generously sized.

$78 for a pitcher of beer and a large pizza in a run down noisy hole in the wall?! Fun for families because the kids can run around on the outside patio but we had hoped for something more memorable and less goudgy and grungy. The pizza itself had loads of creative combos but the white sauce was more like a light layer of olive oil and garlic so we were eating dry flat bread pizza without a lot of spice unless we added the red pepper (which we did). Ask for red sauce instead of the white. You have to go up to order and they will bring it to you when it's ready. All three of us had time to clean off our table ourselves and individually walk outside and around to the back where there are stinky garbage cans to use the single stall dirty gas-station like bathroom. Servers were super friendly until they started cleaning and banging around us to get us to leave because it was closing. Hey guys, If you hadn't taken 40 minutes to cook our pizza we would have been gone in time.

Mitch M.

Google
Not the greatest pizza, but it passes the vibe test. Service is good, depending on who’s on staff at the time. Will be going back when in need of food to feed a big group but don’t want to go off the island for a better pizza.

Teresa C.

Google
I would have given them 5 stars but our pizza wasn’t cooked in the middle of the pizza. We had just drove 4 hours and was exhausted and wanted to bring our food back to the hotel. I truly was looking forward to having this pizza because it was a thin crust which is the best. The flavor was great but undercooked and way to exhausted to go back so we just had the salad. The hostess who took our order was so pleasant and very sweet

Yelp
The location for village pizzeria is perfect and makes for a great stop at the end of a beach day. The pizza was good with lots of great options, my one critique is that the vegetables were undercooked and on the edge of being raw. The service was quick and all staff were very nice. We had parked at a different location, but I could see parking being a little challenging.

Yelp
We waited for happy hour to only find out it's the same price as the regular deal lol. Anywho pizza was good! 10/10 delicious The sliders were not worth it, the bread was soggy and you only get half a meatball per sandwich: Staff was friendly and nice. We have been here a couple times in the past and always have a good experience.
google avatar

Antoinette T.

Yelp
This spot is in a great location, just a short walk from the Coronado Hotel and beach. They've got really good happy hour prices, which makes it a nice option for families. The indoor seating has that classic old brick pizza house feel, and the outdoor area on the side offers some shade which was nice. The cashier and waitress were both really nice and attentive, which we appreciated. We ordered the meatball sliders, garlic Parmesan wings, a slice of pepperoni, and a slice of Hawaiian. Everything was fine, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. It's not the kind of food I'd find myself craving later, but for the price, location, and overall vibe, it was worth the stop.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Village Pizzeria but it was only okay. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is in a great location. However, it is pretty expensive and you could get better pizza for cheaper. The sicilian pizza had good flavor but the crust was very dense and doughy.
google avatar

Charlize V.

Yelp
Honestly wish I had better things to say about this. The bacon alla vodka pizza and lil vodka roni fries sounded promising but I feel like the sauce wasn't really there. My family did enjoy the pizza crust though, and there is a good amount of outdoor seating.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The pizza and salad were both absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and packed with flavor. The view is stunning, perfect for enjoying a meal while taking in the scenery. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or family. I'll definitely be coming back and can't wait to try more from the menu!

Yelp
Was lucky enough to attend a dress rehearsal showing of Arms and the Man at The Lambs Players theater, so we decided to try out Village Pizzeria for some pre-show dinner. It was a Tuesday night and I was pleasantly surprised to know they had happy hour pricing on their slices, drinks, and some apps. Tried the Sicilian pizza and Napoli. Now when they say slice, they really mean two slices, as they were so big! Also tried their Parmesan wings and hot wings. The wings were giant and flavored perfectly with crispy skin. The service was great, the food delicious, and the patio seating made for such a perfect and relaxing evening. I don't come to Coronado often, but will definitely come back just for the pizza and patio seating.

Yelp
Places is packed, but there's not a lot of alternatives. We got the Pound town pizza which was burnt on the outside and cold in the middle. It had enough pepperoni on it to allow us to open our own pizzeria and not run out all night. The garlic knots were burnt and they weren't able to refund us and make new ones because they were out. All in all food is mediocre.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice local pizzeria with reasonable lunch single slice options. Traditional taste pizza. Good quick lunch service Fun to sit street side.
google avatar

Yelp
I really liked it here. We came for Military Monday 1/2 off large pizza. And they have happy hour 3-6. Crispy pizza crust. Gooey mozzarella sticks. Jamie was super cool! We'll be back just cuz that guy made our experience awesome. Very catering and fun. Can't beat the view on the bay. They have heaters to keep you warm also

Mariam N.

Yelp
‼Local review ‼ we ended up eating here because I didn't make reservations totally my fault, but it didn't realize they were‼ price gouging‼. We paid $34 for 10 chicken tenders. Food was OK at best. My daughter's chicken slipped out of her chicken tender. It was a little disturbing. We ordered one large pizza and chicken tenders, my total came out to $64. Not cool shouldn't be doing this to customers.

Yelp
After a long day at the beach, this hits!!! We got the Meathead. I don't like Canadian bacon aka ham but everything else was delish!! Blonde ale was yummy. Add the pepper flakes ... kicks it up.

Yelp
Quaint pizza joint in the heart of Coronado. It's just walking distance to the famous Hotel Del and has a lot of great business nearby to visit and explore. I love that you can order pizzas by the slice or order them the way they usually are served. You can order at the counter or order after you seat yourself at the table by using the QR code and ordering on your phone. We preferred doing it this way because it can get quite busy so I recommend snatching up a table first before placing an order. They have another bigger location at Ferry Landing on the north end of Coronado (with a beautiful view of the SD skyline). You can never go wrong with either! Perfect place to get fresh-made pizza!
google avatar

Sharon G.

Yelp
Stumbled into this pizza shop while walking around during sunset. We were lured in by the happy hour sign and i'm so glad we stopped in! We got a few pizza slices to share and it was such a good decision bc we got to try so many different combinations! We're not from the area but i would definitely stop by again if i'm in the area.
google avatar

Julia G.

Yelp
We came to Coronado for the live music by the ferry landing and decided to stop by for happy hour pizza slices. We tried the vegetarian, the sausage and mushroom, and the Whitestone. We enjoyed them all but some slices were much larger than others, which was a little strange that they were such different sizes. We ordered at the right time because our service was fast and we got our pizza fairly quickly. As soon as we ordered the place got packed! It was nice to be able to get seating under the heat lamps since the sun was hiding behind the clouds and it got a little chilly. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I ordered a pizza to go and ended up eating it at the restaurant. It's a nice and casual place to dine in. Once we received the pizza, I definitely noticed it had way too much green peppers and less meat on it but, nonetheless it was delicious. Service was okay considering they were extremely busy but there needs to be more of an effort to notify guest when their orders are ready. I'm pretty sure my pizza was waiting there a while based solely on how hot the pizza was and it was just warm. Maybe a PA system should be considered.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pizza spot in Coronado island to go with a group of friends or solo. They have a QR code on the tables and it makes it easy to order from and pay. Service is pretty fast and the staff if very polite. The food was good and it fills you up quick with just one slice of pizza and an order of garlic crinkle fries which I HIGHLY recommend!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Great food! Italian chopped salad and Sicilian pizza were both great. Three stars for service. Young people taking our order seemed disconnected and either did not listen or could not hear. Went yo the counter to ask for water (which we had asked for with our order and never received)...employees did not make eye contact with me, just kept walking by. Finally when I excused myself and asked for help and the employee said she would be right back. She was right back alright, and just walked on by totally forgetting me. I got another person's attention and was able to get water. Tables needed wiping down. Probably won't be back due to poor service. As a customer I felt like a total inconvenience to the employees. Just taking our order was a chore for them, they'd much rather be huddled together chatting away.
google avatar

Daisy G.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place during their happy hour with my family and it was definitely a great place to get a quick eat! Their happy hour pizza slices were all really delicious and we all ate a few bites each. Would come back!

Corrine J.

Yelp
I was looking forward to this, but was disappointed. The pizza lacked substance & when it was delivered to the table many of the topping's were on one side. Bummer, I was hopeful. Location is great though.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
Amazing pizza!! The food was amazing and well worth the wait. The service wasn't the greatest as the person taking my order stormed off when a glass broke and never returned. It was a very interesting encounter however, I looked past that to enjoy my pizza.
google avatar

Ellen S.

Yelp
My son and I live nearby and love coming to Village Pizzeria on Orange Ave. The food is always good, the service is quick and the prices are fair. We like sitting outside and watching all the activity. My son usually gets a pizza slice or the Fettuccine Alfredo. I'm a big fan of the zucchini sticks. They are always crispy and perfectly cooked. Last time we tried the garlic knots and my son couldn't stop talking about them. It's a great place for a casual meal in Coronado, especially with kids.

Yelp
Great service and good food. They have an amazing all day happy hour on Tuesday for pizza slices, appetizers and beers!
google avatar

Liza W.

Yelp
This is only very delicious pizza. I lived in Italy for a few months and the Napoli is pretty close! The girl that took our order was new. So, there were a few hiccups but overall the staff was joking with each other and having a good time. So that good energy goes into the food, for sure! I'm from Az and my daughter was recently stationed here. So, we will surely be back while she's here. I will say, they are a bit pricey. 1 large Napoli (1/2 pepperoni) , a small cheese pizza, and a a small sprit for $65.00. It did hurt to take out the card but it was worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing view! We went around 4 pm on Tuesday, 8/20/24, so not crowded. Large, the Works pizza was $40, which is expensive but it does feed 3 to 4 people. Refillable drinks are $4. Order at counter or online. No waitress service. Pizza was ready quickly. Pizza was very good. Came out piping hot. Ample parking, free for 2 hours. No restrooms I the restaurant but they are nearby.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
First time here for us. Let me tell ya it was fantastic. I believe they use a brick oven as well
google avatar

Aly Y.

Yelp
Pizza and knots were so yummy! We got 2 slices, 2 drinks and an order of knots for $20. Staff was really friendly, place was clean, food was good. We will for sure come back!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Pizza slices 3.50 for common toppings. Hot wings Buffalo and Garlic definitely spot on. Service was not very fast or friendly. But you can order at the table and pay for it without needing service. Recommend. Ambiance is a busy pizza joint by the beach.
google avatar

Marty L.

Yelp
The restaurant serves its intended purpose: quickly produced food that is available for either self-seated dine-in or carryout. Self-dining will get you a paper plate or dish or bowl depending on what you order. Other than delivery to your table, there is no interaction with wait staff unless you seek them out to ask for something. The food is average in my opinion, but service is fast and prices are reasonable. We had our two young girls with us so the fast service mattered more than quality, price or service. Mom and dad, however, were totally underwhelmed. Onward and upward from here.
google avatar

Yelp
Listen this was a place I had been dreaming about since the last time I went to San Diego. It's the best little pizza place on the beach! We walked there from Coronado beach at our hotel and it was just so good. Very fresh and hot, our pizza was gigantic and I wish the lady would have offered maybe a better deal to us with our little kids, but we had a ton of leftover so it was okay. She was so nice and helpful in other ways. Try their garlic knots for sure and if you're on the island and need a bite to eat check them out. They have salads, wings, pasta. They have outdoor and indoor seating, which is nice since the weather is so beautiful. Love it will recommend 1000000 Times again!!!!

Yelp
My friend and I went to Hotel Del to see the Christmas decor, and singing trees. We decided to grab a bite here afterwards for dinner. It's a cute, quaint, casual pizzeria. There's limited seating inside, but a huge patio seating available. You order at the counter, and they will bring your food to you. They have a great variety of pizza pies,as well as appetizers and other food options, such as chicken wings and salads etc. My friend is a vegetarian, so we ordered the Mediterranean pizza pie. We also order the mozzarella sticks. We got a small pizza pie, and it was definitely more than enough for two people. I'm not a bougie pizza person, but I can definitely tell how good a pizza is based on the quality common freshness of their bread. And I was not disappointed! The bread tasted very fresh, light, and still crispy. It is honestly really good quality Pizza. Also, the service was very friendly and tentative to bring us plates, napkins, etc. I would definitely go back. If you're hanging around hotel del, or just exploring Coronado Island and want a quick bite, quality food, I would highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Visiting area and we decided to try this pizza place, it smelled good lol. We ordered at table thru scan on table. Pretty cool btw. We got our pizza and it was perfect for us. Good flavor and not too thick. A definite place to come back again.

Yelp
We are huge fans of their Bayside location which is hard to compete with due to its view BUT I think the crew here is just next-level when it comes to being into what they do -- this is the real OG crew and I think Jamie in particular helps that pizzeria vibe! We were lucky to go there on a Tuesday which has so many deals and discounts so we got a few slices of the Whitestone which I can now confirm is my favorite slice of pizza in all of San Diego -- try a slice or a whole pie, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
After strolling around Coronado we love stopping in at our favorite by the slice pizza shop in Coronado! Great friendly employees and an outside dining area tucked away off Orange. The pizzas and Stromboli's are massive! My 1 year old son can eat their meatballs all by himself, he loves them.
google avatar

Sherri S.

Yelp
Not a good place to eat! The manager through a fit like a 5 year old over garlic knots. Pizza was missing ingredients, dinner salad never got delivered, asked for no cheese on salad, the salad came with cheese, asked for a pizza riser and they were hesitate to bring one. At the time we were there it wasn't that busy. I think they need better training from the powers to be!
google avatar

Frank S.

Yelp
We arrived after 8:00 and didn't realize they closed at 8:30. By the time we were ready to order, we were told the kitchen was closed. Last we ate there (we live about 150 miles away) we ordered through a server that came to our table but now you go up to the counter to order. My husband is disabled and has difficulty going place to place. I asked to speak with the manager, Jamie and he was incredibly accommodating! While there were certain items we couldn't order as the fryer was already turned off, he made suggestions for our order. The food was delicious especially the meatball sub! Jamie came to talk to us during our meal and was so personable and gracious...he really made our dining experience wonderful! While most restaurants would rush customers out, Jamie told us to take our time. He is truly an amazing manager and the perfect person to represent your company.

Yelp
I can't believe they took my comments down first of all they're not as great as they used to be. I haven't been there for a long time. I came back to visit and found a place half the size a pint of beer nine dollars unbelievable for something that only cost five dollars. In other places the pizza was soggy. I order a pizza with everything plus meatball which they don't include. They charge me you think was six dollars of soap and never got the meatballs. I didn't know until I left never again will I go to this pizzeria? They used to sell boar head meat. Not more the pizza was salty by the way I don't recommend anyone to go to this place. It's not worth it very expensive for no reason.

Yelp
CORONADO, CA / PIZZA / 03-18-23 / DINNER +Our Bluewater Grill waiter, Tony, recommended this place for dinner. +The pizza was magnificent. +The crust was super crispy and the sauce/toppings were delicious. +The crispy Brussels sprouts appetizer is a must-get.

Austin S.

Yelp
Combine GREAT pizza and a great view no matter where you sit. Decent prices for how close it is to the water and how good the food is. I definitely will be back and highly recommend.
google avatar

R W.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place and go anywhere else nearby. The food is passable if you like doughy pizza and overcooked wings. This place is clearly unstaffed. The tables are dirty and not cleaned up after customers leave. The staff looked stressed out and overworked. I ordered a pitcher of beer and they put ice in it! Who puts ice in beer?! When I asked for a pitcher of water, I was told they ran out of pitchers! The kicker - there were still empty tables. We asked them to turn on the heaters since it was chilly and drafty outside. I was told they ran out of propane for their heaters.
google avatar

Tiffany K.

Yelp
This pizza was amazing! We had a large group so it was ordered to go and taken to the beach. The pizza we got was huge and people were coming up to us asking to take photos of the pizza because it was the biggest they had ever seen. The flavor was delicious and there was enough pizza for everyone.
google avatar

Anastacia H.

Yelp
A nice little spot in Coronado. Employees were great. I ordered a Sicilian sausage and pepper pizza, pizza knots, an Italian chopped salad. Everything was very good. I think in the future I will ask for extra cheese and garbanzo beans in the salad, just because I like them so much. Refillable soft drinks are available, you just have to go to them to refill which was not a problem at all.
google avatar

Tatum F.

Yelp
Great customer service during a very busy Saturday night! They went above and beyond when issues arose with our order.
google avatar

Kevin T.

Yelp
TL;DR: come back for HH for $3 slices and $5 beers Ordered: - Napoli (MVP): best of the bunch - tomatoes and basil tasted really fresh - Pepperoni: interesting that our slice had a mix of both flat and cup pepps - Sausage and Pepper: note that this is a grandma/Sicilian slice. Knew this fact before placing the order and we were still surprised how thick the crust was - Mushroom and Sausage: good but nothing special Beer selection had about 6 on draft - went with the Robot Panda Hazy from HopWorks Decent spot on Orange to grab a slice and brew while saving some $ especially for Coronado

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
I got a slice to see how it was--I didn't expect to be served old pizza which was reheated in a dirty toaster oven, and took 20 minutes to be ready. It smelled like the dirty toaster oven, and tasted like it. Old, reheated pizza, from a dirty toaster oven. Won't be back, ever.

David G.

Yelp
Double Sausage Calzones are amazing! I love this place--been here over 10 times. At night it's always crowded and trash is everywhere, but the food is so good I don't even care.

Wes B.

Yelp
Pizza was ok. Tables and seats were dirty and sticky. Hostess/waitress was very rude and got annoyed I didn't make small talk prior to giving my order (the young Hispanic girl interrupted me and insisted I said hello and asked how her day was going). Had to ask three times to get our drinks. One of the cooks finally got us our drinks. Wish I hadn't gone there. Won't return.
google avatar

Андрей К.

Yelp
Yelp profile and pictures looked so good so I decided to try it. We ordered salad, meatballs, pizza and beer. Beer was great. Everything else 6/10. You only pay for convenient location, I wouldn't go there again.

Yelp
10/10 recommend. This place was sooooo good!! Our family of 10 had more than enough room outside, the staff was very friendly and helpful AND the food was AMAZING!!
