The Best Birria and Quesabirria Tacos at Mexican Restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul | Eater Twin Cities

"St. Anthony’s Village Pub has a long-running non-menu special that has stuck around due to its popularity, thanks largely to social media. The pub’s take on birria tacos is a little less traditional — it’s made with melted jack cheese on the corn tortillas and slow cooked beef, served with chopped onions, cilantro and a side of broth." - Cinnamon Janzer

I stopped in out of curiosity because I was in the area and have been meaning to try. I sat at the bar and was greeted promptly by a very nice gal who suggested one of the rice bowls. I ordered it and it was very good! The chicken bowl! Great flavors and very fresh!

Great food... burger I had today was perfect and hand-made patty juicy rich in flavor. you can't get this quality of food from fast food restaurants. Love the beer list and grandkids. I always enjoy dinner here.Hannah was our waitress and did an outstanding job.

The place was completely dead when I arrived, so I sat down to have a drink. The bartender was fairly nice at first but continued to talk to me and pressure me to order another drink, even though I was clearly on my phone trying to take care of some business calls. She kept going on about how she used to work all over Minneapolis, which wasn’t really relevant or welcome in the moment. What bothered me more was that she delayed taking my cash, almost as if she was waiting for me to leave a 50% tip. She even mentioned how she’s always trying to “save customers money” and that when she does, it ends up in her own pocket. The whole experience felt like an uncomfortable attempt to guilt me into tipping more. I always tip, and I’m a no-nonsense person—but being pressured and bothered while trying to relax is just annoying. No wonder this place is usually empty.

We had the Birria Nachos and Naughty Tots to share. Nachos were great, tots were so-so...not exciting. We had water to drink and the wait staff never came back for refills. There were about 8 people in the entire place. We asked for the bill and more water and the waiter came back with the bill and one water. First time here, maybe last. I see other good reviews. Give it a try.

I did take out, so do not have *actual* feedback on the service or atmosphere other than that it was ready very quickly. The chicken sandwich was very good. Moist, cooked well, and crunchy on the outside. The shoestring fries were greasy and undercooked. The cheese curds were ok, but I probably wouldn’t order again.

We found this place by accident. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the food and the service were. My burger was cooked just the way I ordered it, and I loved the crispy, thin fries. Nice chicken wings with veggies.

A nice place for a good brunch, lunch or dinner. The restaurant is located in a nice place, and love their outdoor seating. Very friendly staff. The menu is on a bit of a higher side. The food tasted excellent. I went to this place a couple more times and have enjoyed it each time. Lovely options on the menu.

They discontinued the turkey burger which was celery excellent. They have a black bean burger on their menu and then it says if you can get a veggie burger. So I ordered a veggie burger but they gave me a black bean burger anyway . Not ok.
