"There are plenty of spots for great fried chicken in the city but the region’s best chicken fingers necessitate a visit to Schaumburg. Village Tavern’s famous starter features a tempura-style batter and secret recipe honey mustard dipping sauce. They’re also available in flavors like coconut, barbecue, buffalo, and habanero. A second outpost is located in Carol Stream. Orders can be placed online." - Jeffy Mai

Had a party of 6 on a friday night. The service was great especially considering it was packed. One reviewer wrote it the place had a Cheers atmosphere. Spot on. Half the restraunt started sweet carolyn when it was playing. The food was good but not great. The table had cod platter, baked cod, chicken fingers and steak sandwich. I tried them all. The food prices are reasonable with a good quantity. The drinks were good with decent amt of alcohol. If you are looking for a lively place this is for you.

Google
Come for the chicken fingers, but try the rest of the apps too!! Portions are huge. If you're into fried mushrooms, they are gigantic. The honey mustard sauce is some of the best I've ever had. This place gets crazy busy, but the service level stays high because the entire team works as 1 cohesive unit.

I tell you this here food was toe lickin good. I brought home that cheesy burger and tasty pizza and had no regrets. I gave it it's own photo shoot and everything so you people could see it too. Darn tootin that sure was a treat even had some for tomorrow.

Went to Village Tavern in Schaumburg during late afternoon on a Friday during Lent. Although they were busy, we were seated immediately. Service was quick and responsive. We both ordered the Cod fish fry, and the filets were not overcooked, which is typically done during fish frys. Prices are still reasonable, and I noticed some new items (like a Cuban sandwich based on a recipe from Columbia Restaurant in Florida) that I will try in the near future. Definitely a popular place, and I will be back soon.

Google
Delish! The Hillbilly Rockstarz Ultimate Grilled Cheese was the spotlight of our meal. The combination of cheeses and pot roast is genius! I couldn't resist stealing half of my friend's sandwich. The Chicken Fingers platter did not disappoint (even though I shared half as repayment). The sweet potato fries are my favorite here, even though their regular fries are tasty too.

Google
Everything is so good. It's a bar, but could easily pass as a restaurant. Who makes their own ranch dressing? They do! If you don't get fried mushrooms, you would be missing a taste of heaven. Get a sampler platter, then order your food.

Google
Food wasn’t anything special. I had the chicken fingers and a stake dinner with fries. The stake had no flavor whatsoever and the famous chicken fingers weren’t that great. For the price there is definitely better options. First and last time I will be going to this place. At least my dog liked the food.

Google
Always great food with reasonable prices. The Baby Back Ribs are consistently the best I've ever eaten all over the world. Fall.off the bone, meaty, and tasty sauce. While other places have jacked up prices with reduced food quality, VT remains solid.

Yelp
World. Famous. Chicken. Tenders. Need I say more? No, not really, but I will anyway. If you are a fan of chicken tenders, then you won't be disappointed with ordering them here. I like the platter that includes a salad (or soup) and fries. The honey mustard sauce is great for dipping. Last time I visited, I tried the chicken tenders quesadilla. It was cheesy and had a unique crunch to it that made this dish extra special. The servers here are so friendly and take time to chat, even when it is busy. The soups are really great here, too. I love the local and family feel to this spot, and it is a great place to go for food after a Schaumburg Boomers game. You get a lot of food for the price you pay. Typically, I have enough leftover for a second meal.

Yelp
Local go to when I'm in the mood for a good burger. I love the Amstel burger with the onion strings and jalapeño aioli. The famous chicken tenders are always a must get. After eating the tenders as an app we typically take home half our meal for left overs the next day. The service here can be hit or miss depending on how busy the restaurant gets.

Yelp
Ordered to go full order potato skins with easy, easy cheese and a soup cup of salsa. Went in to pick up order and the skins were loaded with cheese, and had a few green onions and a small handful of bacon bits sprinkled on top of the skins. And to top it off the soup container of salsa which was 3/4 filled was $7.99. I asked to speak to the manager because the order wasn't prepared as ordered and also the cost of the salsa was outrageous, it was more than a cup of soup, in the same container. Of course, a young guy comes over and states he's the manager. I asked if the owner Jay was there, the kid says nope. I explained my frustration with the order being wrong as the skins were loaded with cheese, when I specifically said easy, easy cheese. All he said is easy to you might be different to someone else, want them remade. Well considering I've already waited 20 minutes for them to ready the first time, I wasn't real happy with that option. I also said there is hardly any green onions or bacon in tip of the skins, he replied there is but again everyone sees things differently. The I comment on the $7.99 for a 3/4 container of salsa. Their soup is cheaper than that, he said prices increased , what can he say. How about sorry to start. This location has really gone down hill and prices are much higher and quality is poor. Bring Jessica back so always made sure orders were done correctly and if not, she had them fixed with a smile on her face. Stick to the Carol Stream location, pretty quality, and more affordable pricing.

Yelp
It's been a while since I last ate at Village Tavern, and unfortunately, I was disappointed this time. While the portions are generous and the chicken fingers were good, they weren't as great as I remembered. The tater tots were especially disappointing, as they seemed to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. However, when I mentioned this to the server, she happily replaced them with potato au gratin, which was good. I'll give them another chance in the future, hoping for a better experience.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
The quintessential sports bar. We went here for March Madness and you get great drink selections. I got an Easter themed cocktail that was delicious. Also, who are we even kidding? You must get the chicken fingers. I got the chicken finger salad which was unbelievable. Seriously, it's a great hang for you and your friends, or a casual date night.

Yelp
Go to spot for a quick bite and drinks. Im a huge fan of their famous tenders w/ their original sauce. Ordered their ginormous mountain of nachos - mind you thats the small. Their fries are also crispy and seasoned well, highly recommend for fry lovers. I have been coming here for years and have always experienced delightful food and great service. On my most recent visit, our waiter Kiwan was not only personable but went above and beyond to provide us with a good experience. Its a smaller spot with a typical bar restaurant vibe. Visited during December and was decked out with string lights, trees, and lots of Christmas decor.

Yelp
My next stop is a fan favorite and a staple that has been around for decades. This restaurant claims to have the best chicken tenders in the world. I was excited to see if this is true for myself. The restaurant that I am referring to is Village Tavern and Grill in Schaumburg. I visited Village Tavern on a Friday night. The time was around 5:30 in the evening. The parking lot was so busy I thought to myself, I can only imagine what it looks like inside. The restaurant was completely packed. It looked like Elvis had come back from the dead for his final performance. I looked at my wife and said there was no way we were going to be able to get a table, but much to my surprise, I asked the host if she, in fact, had a table and she said right this way. I would say that most of the people look to be regulars. I was over their menu which seems to have a lot of homestyle favorites, such as burgers, chicken, and other sandwiches. I also noticed that they put the scene best in the world on a lot of their items. The one item, though that I have heard so much talk about what is their unique chicken tenders That money does you claim to be the best I've ever had. I started my meal with their best-in-the-world chili. They also offered the chicken tenders as an appetizer option. I assumed it was not as big as a full order, so I decided to go with the appetizer portion. I also want to add that everyone talks about their honey mustard, and dipping sauce, and how good it is so, of course, I chose that as the sauce for my chicken tenders. The chili came to the table. I am not one who normally likes beans in my chili. I am more of a Texas chili fan. I took a spoonful of the chili and it was extremely flavorful. I still could not get over the beans, so I had my wife finish it. The chicken tenders came next and they were massive. The most unique thing about the chicken tender was the batter. The batter was very close to a tempura batter or a batter that she would find on a fish and chips. The batter was something someone didn't like, but still crispy. I dipped my chicken tender into the honey mustard sauce and took my first bite. I will say it is a really good chicken tender. The honey mustard was actually delicious and made the bites complete. It was like no other chicken tender I've ever had. The chicken itself is very juicy and cooked thoroughly, they were very addictive and I could not stop eating them after my first tender. I will say definitely stop by and try these chicken tenders. They are worth the hype. I had for my main dish a Patty melt again. They just told me they make one of the best she's ever had. The patty melt was delicious, but I had to save most of it to bring home. I was so full from the chicken tenders. I will also say with how busy this restaurant was and I mean it was ridiculously busy service was never lacking. Everyone seemed extremely friendly. It will definitely be on my list of places to go eat with my wife from now on. I would suggest possibly going on a weekday in the middle of the day if possible just to escape some of the crowds, like I stated before this place is extremely popular. I also will say you must try the chicken tenders. They are unique and delicious. I give a rating of 8.5 out of 10. This is definitely a place you need to check out.

Larry C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere off the bat. Quick service. Onion shoestrings as the appetizer Good choice. Allegedly the Best Chicken tenders in the World. Can't disagree. Wife loved the pot roast, mashed & green beans. Just outside Chicago, if you're in the area it's worth stopping in.

Yelp
TERRIBLE MANAGER! READ TILL THE END! This is my husband's favorite place. His whole family loves coming here. We don't live close to this place, it's about a 35 minute drive so today we found ourselves in the area of course he wanted to go for dinner. We order and he received his salad first. While eating his salad he bite into something hard and spit it out right away. It was a plastic tag that you mostly find when buying bread, sometimes salad bags. They are not small but we can understand it's a restaurant and humans make mistakes. Our waiter apologizes and says he will get the manager. When the "manager" Christina comes over she says "are you the table that had a problem with their salad". She rushed the conversation and asked if we wanted a free dessert, we said No and she said "ok" and walked away. I'm sorry but my husband could have choked on that plastic tag and the scene would have been completely different. She acted like she could have cared less! Thank God he no longer wants to eat there, the food isn't that great and if their "manager" doesn't care about their customer almost choking it's not a place I or his family would EVER want to eat AGAIN.

Yelp
If you are looking for a casual laid back atmosphere with huge portions at affordable prices, this is the place you want to try! Home of their famous " Chicken Fingers" with their Secret Mustard dipping sauce. Also known for Ribs and Nachorama platter. Daily specials...Monday 2.00 beers! Had the Juanita Wrap with was a giant flour tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken breast, cheese, pico de Gallo,Spanish rice, guacamole and chipotle ranch dressing. Not Spicey but very flavorful. Comes with fries and coleslaw by request. Service was very good. I would have given it 5 stars but it is starting to show it's age and tables could have been cleaner..I hate sticky tables. Voted one of Chicago's Best...definitely will be back

Jeannette A.

Yelp
Great place to take the family and kids or go out for drinks with friends. Bar around the middle with tvs facing every direction. This location has the giant fried mushrooms, so yummy. Everyone's favorite are the huge pile of nachos that feeds about party of 3 adults and 2 kids. Service has been slacking in today's world but you just have to have patience, alot of patience.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my husband during the week, and we really enjoyed our experience. We had amazing service from our waitress, who would check in on us all the time and also fill our water cups as soon as they were running low. I also ordered a tall Blue Moon, and my husband ordered a soda. Upon walking in, the restaurant looked clean, and we were greeted by a nice host who sat us right away. The bar was already pretty busy, but we were seated at a table. The menu is pretty extensive, and no matter what kind of bar food you have a taste for, you'll be able to find something that catches your eye. For dinner, I ordered a fried buffalo chicken sandwich with mozzarella cheese and jalapeños on top with fries as my side. When it arrived, it was HUGE! The breading was unique and red, and it looked to be deepfried with the buffalo sauce on it before being fried, rather than the sauce being added onto the chicken breast after frying, so it wasn't as messy. The sandwich was great and so filling, but admittedly, it wasn't spicy at all the way it was prepared. They also forgot to add jalapeños on my sandwich, but I asked our waitress and got a large plastic side cup full of them! The fries were delicious, and they were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. They were definitely the best texture! My husband ordered the a cheeseburger with egg, but because I ordered a chicken sandwich, we think our waitress thought he wanted it as a chicken sandwich, too. My husband was a bit disappointed, but he didn't mind the sandwich and said it was still very good, so he didn't bother letting our waitress know. Fun fact, you can make any burger a chicken sandwich and add all of the ingredients from a burger onto a chicken sandwich. My husband got tots on the side, which were also so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were delicious! For dessert, we ordered the deep fried oreos which were to-die-for. Not many restaurants have these available, so it was a nice change from our normal cookie skillet option at most places. We would come here just for these! They have a lava cake and some other options, as well. They have a tray they come to your table with to show you the options. Prices are not bad here at all for the quality and portions you get, either. You pay less than $15 for most sandwiches/burgers. But they, of course, have a few things on the menu a little more expensive, such as salmon, steak, and ribs. Overall, we had a positive experience for our first time here, and since we live so close, we will 100% be back to try even more foods on the menu!

Brigette K.

Yelp
Great chicken fingers and potato skins! We get food to go here when we are in town to visit family. I do think that either the chicken finger serving has gone down and/or the price has gone up, but the taste is still delicious. I've always had pretty fast service here whether you call ahead or wait with a drink at the bar. It's hard to find parking sometimes in the lot. I would say this is a more conservative place. Good option if you want a bar and some not fancy but good tasting food.

K D.

Yelp
When you call and request ONLY RANCH with your family chicken finger order and what arrives is 9 containers of honey mustard, expect Daniel (not Miguel, my apologies) the manager (Schaumburg) to tell you "go complain to grub hub" even though it was his staff who doesn't follow directions. It's irritating to spend over $70 on an order to be told to "go complain" somewhere else. This has happened way too many times so I am done ordering from here for delivery orders.

Max K.

Yelp
Classic little sports bar; a northwest suburban icon. Come for the chicken fingers, stay for the potato skins. Solid burgers and chili. Only beef is some menu items are kinda mid and the chairs are uncomfortable

Jenna T.

Yelp
Ordered chicken fingers and fries for lunch. Both were pretty good. Chicken fingers were great with no fat and juicy.

Annette M.

Yelp
Always a reliable place to meet our friends where everyone finds something to enjoy on the menu. Our waiter Kiwane was very attentive. My husband really enjoyed the Juanita Wrap with fries. I got the chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato & avocado with no bun and sweet potato fries. Our friends ordered a chef salad and the famous Chicken Fingers. We all enjoyed our choices. The restaurant was packed with a mix of families and couples young and young at heart. The noise level was high with lots of conversation and laughter. Plenty of TV's around tuned to various sports and sports decor make this a typical neighborhood sports bar that is consistent.

Alan C.

Yelp
Went there on a Friday nite. place was packed but we were seated rather quickly. had the all you could eat fish. Our son and his wife ordered off the menu and all meals were excellent. appetizers for four was just enough and we had extra left over. only problem was the draft Coors Light. COMPLETELY FLAT. When I ordered a 2nd n beer and I received the same thing I called the waitress over. Demonstrated the flat beer BT tapping the glass on the table and Bo carbonated bubbles appeared. I ordered a bottle instead. When the bill came I was charged for 2 drafts. I brought it to her attention and it was corrected so I say all this to say: 1) Always check your bill 2) The barkeep will push stale beer when he/she can get away with it

Jacqueline G.

Yelp
OK, so if you like nachos and I mean a lot of nacho and you got four friends who don't mind sharing for 10 bucks or at least it used to be 10 bucks they have this pile of nachos so I'll knock your socks off. Oh my God died and got to heaven unfortunately can't take it home because it'll be all wilted butspicy delicious if you want extra sour cream, bring it cause they'll give you a whole lot guacamole my God but it's really really really good

Kathy P.

Yelp
Light, airy atmosphere. Attentive waiter or manager ( he cared too much to not have a stake in the business.) The ribs -- daily lunch special -- were meager and flavorless. I ate half and took the rest to go, but couldn't bring myself to pawn these off on my grandson. First time I've ever dumped a half slab in the trash. The seasoned fries were tasty -- crunchy outside, soft inside. Good job on that, but if you are promoting a special, it needs to be special!

Mj P.

Yelp
The food quality has gone way way down as has the quality of delivery. The ambiance is completely disconnected from the local clientele that made it poplar in the beginning.

Rampant M.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday during, what looked like, a lunch rush with college football in full swing. We were seated quickly and our server was great. Very funny guy and un-phased by the crowd in the restaurant. We tried the World Famous Chicken and were very pleased. Very good and huge portions. Pro Tip: Try the Coconut Habanero strips. Outstanding.

Pavlina C.

Yelp
order from grubhub was awful. Driver left bag disshoveled and we were missing the number 1 ingredient, the CHICKEN in the salad and not to mention an entire other order... chicken finger platter. Huge disappointment. The restaurant shouldn't be responsible but grub hub conveniently doesn't have a spot for reviews. upon contacting the restaurant they were willing to accept fault but it itsnt on them, grub hub and driver failed in the situation and guess what, he still gets a tip after a crappy delivery of which we will not even get to enjoy. Thanks but no thanks, bad taste now.

Carmen B.

Yelp
Food is really, really good. Don't care much for ambience, too loud & sticky tables. But the food is too good to pass up

Neal H.

Yelp
Got take out; chicken fingers and fries. Pretty tasty, but very greasy. I'd say the honey mustard is the best part. Perhaps getting them fresh, at the restaurant, would mitigate the grease issue. Service was fine.

Alan C.

Yelp
The Friday all you can eat fish fry is great. The place is very busy on Fridays and quite loud. If you order a beer, make sure you get bottle beer because draft beers are FLAT. I ordered a Coors Lite. It came as a draft and was flat. How the barkeeper and the waitress let that get served was ridiculous. After I ordered my 2nd Coors Lite and the draft came the same way..FLAT , I told the waitress it was flat and wanted a bottle. I demonstrated that there was no carbonation. She said she didn't know that. And she works in a bar? Then the bill for our meal comes and we're charged for 2 flat beers and a bottle beer. I had the bill corrected but the waitress should have done that. That barkeep shouldn't let the FLAT drafts even been served to customers. Go to eat but get bottled adult beverages and check your bills.

Vee B.

Yelp
Can I give this place a -5 stars? This place used to be decent but has taken a nosedive into the 'sh!thole' category. Placed a to-go 4/22...get home only to find the fish fry dinner has chicken instead of fish. Called and the manager, R.C. Said she would issue a refund. Called again on 5/7 because there was no credit. Talked to Katie, she said she would take care of it. MAY 28 still no credit so I go in and wait 35 minutes and was told R.C "will take care of it"Monday. Today June 7 it's STILL not taken care of. had to go in and waste another 35 minutes of my life to get them to credit the charges. If I ever decide to go there again and it's wrong...I will not hesitate to just dispute the credit card charge vs letting VTG "handle" it. TL; DR: if VTG tells you they will credit your card for crappy service or wrong orders just skip it and dispute it with your credit card. The business will get charged a fee and your issue will be settled w/o having to waste your time with these idiots

Bob V.

Yelp
The positives- the location itself is in a strip mall although you would never know it from the inside. It is clean, the food is very good and it is pleasantly cool even though it's hot outside. The negatives- the soft drinks are $3.50 and come in a smaller glass... this is not different from many places. The negative comes in where the waitress walks by the table where the empty glass is in plain view and doesn't refill it or even ask if you would like more. At $7.00 for two small glasses of pop it should be a no brainer to refill the glass. That's not rocket scientist thinking it's just common sense.

Lefai K.

Yelp
We came here on a whim, as my son wanted some soup on a cold Chicago autumn day. On this specific Sunday, there were a lot of Bears fans and the place was packed. In either case, we were able to get a table pretty quickly. The server was super nice and attentive, refilling our waters pretty promptly, and was almost there instantaneously whenever we finished our cup or dish. Really good service. I ordered the chicken fajitas, as it was recommended... I know, fajitas from a tavern. But it was surprisingly good. It came sizzling hot, and had a decent amount of chicken, along with onions, green peppers, and red peppers. It also came with sides of sour cream, creamy guac, cheese, sliced lettuce, baked beans, and Spanish rice. The meal came with 4 flour tortillas, and soup. The soup of the day was chicken and rice, which was decent. There was chicken on there, but not much rice. It had more of a clear tomato soup base, and came with some saltine crackers. My kids ordered the chicken tenders, which came generously with six tenders. The batter for the tenders were great! The fries were also really crunchy and good. Kudos to the deep fryer station. My other kid ordered the salmon plate, which came with a 4oz salmon, and fries. The salmon looked rather boring, but after a generous shake of salt, my son said it was good as well. Overall, the meal was good, the service was good, and the overall experience was good. Would come back again. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located on the left-end of the dining area, from the front door, the bathrooms were somewhat dingy. The men's bathroom has one urinal, near the dual sinks. There is a privacy divider, in case you have stage fright trying to pee, while some dude is trying to wash their hands, less than 5 feet away from you. The right sink hot water was crazy-hot... if that is what you like. If not, opt for the cold water instead. Dual sinks have a nice granite counter top. There are also two stalls. I couldn't get a closer look as they were occupado. Sit or squat? Squat.

Yelp
Be going to the Village 25+ years. I've known all the managers by first name. It hurts me to say the food is just average now and the prices are extremely high. The nachos we had last night were terrible, the world famous chili tasted like it was from a can. The four of us ate less than half the order. The chicken fingers were just average. Rib dinner $27.99, ice tea 3.99 chicken finger dinner 17.99 steak nachos full 32.99. I get it prices the food went up but it seems like your prices went up way too high and the quality went down. Service was fair as well. Waited 15 minutes for a server to approach our table. Empty plates sitting on the table, waitress walked by twice without removing them. FYI it was 5:30 and for the Village it was dead, many empty tables. I rarely post reviews but the Village is a staple in our community and I hate to see it operate like this.

Bridget M.

Yelp
I'm a first timer! Village tavern is exactly what it's supposed to be. A neighborhood tavern with bar food, tons of TVs, quick service and friendly staff. If you're looking for an upscale experience, look elsewhere. This place is for the casual folks. Think older menus, sticky tables but not sticky enough to turn you off, and a bit outdated. But, hey, I call that CHARM! Yeah, yeah, get the chicken fingers. Everyone is right. If you're a fan of beer battered, this place is for you. Pro tips 1) Take a bath in the honey mustard and 2) ask for Danny as your server. He's a true gem, so personable, so nice, quick and made us feel so welcome - a great first experience. If we're ever in the area, we'll be back!

Celeste D.

Yelp
They are always fast and friendly. If they've made a mistake they were quick to fix it. Very good food every time.

Geno N.

Yelp
The greatest chicken fingers on the planet. The honey mustard is a necessary accoutrement for the fingers too

Mister D.

Yelp
Friday night prior to a long weekend, we thought they would be busier. As a side note good to add your name to a waitlist. Not to say they were not busy. The place was crowded and happening as always. Our server was wonderful. Attentive, answered our questions. She appeared to be new here as she walked back and forth to make sure everything was as is. I wish I can say the same for the guy and gal who were at the front. We ordered huge Nachorama appetizer without chili and extra jalapeños. Spinach artichoke dip with pita bread and a plate of their famous chicken strips with homemade honey mustard sauce. The nachos were dry as expected. Not their fault but ours as we asked without chili. The spinach artichoke dip was great. Enoiugh spinach and artichoke to make you feel you are eating healthy. The winner as always is their chicken strips and honey mustard sauce. We watched baskets after baskets and plates after plates going out the kitchen to the joyous crowd. Of course Anti-Hero from Revolution Brewing Company is always top notch. The guava margarita did not disappoint at all. Fun times here with great service and food.

Jason D.

Yelp
What a place this is, Village Tavern & Grill also referred to as VTG. I don't live in the Schaumburg area, but when visiting nearby family, this place is a must-stop. Very much a family-friendly local establishment. There are three things I like about this place: 1. Friendly Staff: I don't mind the long waits between drinks or food when they are busy. They are too darn nice to be mad at. 2. Fresh Guinness on tap does make me happy every time. 3. World Famous Chicken Fingers with the salad and honey mustard dressing, it's the perfect combination. For Management: One thing that disappoints me on the menu is not having rigatoni vodka sauce with Italian sausage. Our family would order this catering item; it was indeed the best. I would encourage bringing this item back! One exciting thing about this place is the "Glory Hole" in the men's washroom. Everyone knew about it when I talked to my family, which are regulars. I guess it's one of the many charms that make this place what the Village is!

Steve G.

Yelp
This place used to be great and has taken a dive! They started our meal serving us expired rancid salsa. The manager even admitted it was old and bad. My daughter found a long hair in the middle of her sandwich. We were missing part of the meal, and two of the orders came out wrong. When we talked to waitress she got major attitude and was blaming us. We had to argue with the manager to get the food removed form the bill and had to actually call the owner right there to get it takne care of. My daughter ended up becoming ill after eating.

Robert C.

Yelp
The food is good. The ambiance.is great and they have a lot of televisions to watch various sports.

Deer F.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for over 10 years and just recently all my orders are messed up. It's not Ubereats, it's the restaurant. The manager fights with me about my order and said she can't do a substitution, yet they've done it before and on this last order they did do it - they just gave me one substituted order instead of 2. The 2nd order was not the substitution. So how can they do one and not 2 of the same thing? I wondered. All she did was argue with me that I ordered a full meal substitute -- as a side potato. What?? My order said NO POTATO. I asked for the owner -- but you can't talk to the owner. First, she said yes she is one of the owners, then she said no. Continued to talk about, bring up the potato issue, we already talked about that, and it was clear she just wanted to argue. Good food if you get what you order. Horrible service.

Yelp
Been to the Village Tavern & Grill a handful of times and have had good experiences in the past but was very disappointed this last trip. We had reservations for a group of 10 for 3:00pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly and the last two people in the group arrived around 3:15pm. We waited patiently for 15 minutes before our server came to take our drink order, at that time we also ordered an appetizer for the table. We received the appetizer in a timely matter but the waited another 40 minutes before the server came back to take our order. Once the order was taken we we sat and chatted for 20 minutes when the server said that your orders were coming up, then we waited another 25 minutes and was told the ribs that one of the people in our group order was taking some extra time. 10 more minutes went by when we had to ask for drink refills because the server never refilled anyone's drinks. When the server return d with the drinks (iced tea and waters) she again told us that the food was coming up in the window, at this time tables that arrived 35-40 minutes after us were receiving their food. The server at that time said they received their food first because they did not order appetizers, wait what!!! Finally after a two hour wait our food started to arrive when we noticed that one of the people in the group did not receive their order. It appears that the server or the kitchen missed one of the orders and have not yet started to make the meal. So while most of the people were finishing their meal one person was still waiting to be served. While I can understand that a group of 10 is a bit more difficult then one or two people they must have experience serving a group of 10 on a Saturday afternoon. To arrive at 3:00, place your order and not receive the meals until almost 5:30 is not acceptable in my book. Either they need more staff or better training but we will definitely not be going back anytime soon. FYI: The food was ok, but nothing special.

Yelp
Came for the famous chicken fingers. Place was crowded but we were seated right away. Food was very good and so was the atmosphere. My only downside and the reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars...price. Very pricey bar food and hard to justify coming back because of it.

Yelp
Food is great. Classic to Schaumburg. Service is good. Ambiance is good. I like that they don't update it. Keeps it classic

Yelp
Good looking building from the outside. It's in a strip mall, but it's very busy. Parking was ok. When we walked in (part of 2), we were greeted immediately, even though it was busy. Probably 85-90% of the tables were full. So, first impressions were good . But, it being busy, service was a bit slow, at least to start. I'm glad we were not in a hurry. However, it was a little longer than expected. The server was good, though. Soup arrived very quickly. I got the Chicken Tuscany and my wife got French Onion. Her French Onion needed a little crispier cheese and the broth wasn't great. She said it was good, not quite VERY good. She's had better, but also has much worse. The Chicken Tuscany was decent. Also not great, but good. Actually, it was pretty flavorless, nothing distinctive about it, but when you add salt and pepper it is better. My fish came right at then end of the soup, great timing. My wife's Cheesesteak Hoagie was "Really good", and she took half home with her. The fish, while prompt, had too much breading. It wasn't bad, but too much breading. The fries were good, but the Cole slaw was a little too much vinegar. I drank water, so, no comment there, but they do have an extensive drink menu. The beer menu was mostly (entirely?) yellow beers. Even though it was December, they had no stouts and no porters (hence, why I drank water). Overall, if I'm doing a 0.0-5.0 rating, I'd call it a 3.8. I really wanted it to be higher. The menu has many things and I guess I just picked the wrong ones. The experience was good, not great.

Yelp
My family and I have visited this establishment many times throughout the years. The food has always been great! Amazing chicken fingers, burgers, etc.... This evening (9/18/23) we decided to bring some friends with to this establishment. After waiting 15 minutes to get a waitress, we placed our order. It then took an additional 1.5 hours to receive our food (fried chicken fingers). Safe to say, everyone in our party lost their appetite. When the food finally arrived, it was cold! Village Bar and Grill please do better. If your waitresses are new, have them introduce themselves as a new waitress and your guess will be patient. Even after making multiple attempts to waive down the waitress and get an update on our order, it seemed as if there was some sort of misunderstanding or confusion on behalf of the establishment (waitress and kitchen staff). Not once (after the first round) did the waitress come back and asked if we needed any additional drinks, nor did she check to see if everything ordered was to the guess liking. Safe to say, my family and I will not return. Please do better. If you know your table did NOT have a good experience, simply apologize. Good food. Horrible service!

Yelp
If you haven't tried the famous chicken fingers then you're missing out. The people there are really friendly and love to help with anything you need. It's can be a bit loud at times but it's tolerable.

Yelp
Been going there since my move to the area over 20 years ago. Normally, I would give Village Tavern 5 stars, but as with all restaurants now, they are showing service inconsistencies. The staff is friendly, but can be a little slow to the table even in non-peak hours. But my main issue is with the kitchen staff. Though you may ask for garnishes for your meal, it's a hit or miss proposition as no one seems to be double checking to make sure the order is complete. The wait staff is writing it down, what's the problem? During prime dining hours they do have runners, but they never do that part of the job. Fixing this would show the customers top-notch service. No complaints with the food, I find it's always fresh and tasty.
