"Pairing good wine and Italian cuisine in Orange Beach is Villaggio Grille, offering an upscale setting inside and a more casual, dog-friendly setting on the year-round patio. It’s the area’s best bet when craving Italian, with traditional starters like calamari fritti and beef carpaccio and entrees like chicken scallopini, shrimp risotto, and lamb chops. Opt for well-crafted meat and seafood dishes over pasta and pizza (though both are great options for kids, in addition to a top-notch kids’ menu), and try the tiramisu." - Clair Lorell

I have been eating here for some time and each time is always great. Plenty of food choices for everyone in the group and the service is always professional and friendly. Being located at the wharf there are plenty of shops around to shop at or satisfy your sweet tooth. Also, the walk along the water is nice especially around sunset.

Food was pretty good. I would eat here again. The thing about the wharf is that it's extremely hot in the summer and parking is weird. Not the restaurants fault but it keeps me from just going there on a whim. Usually the only time crowds are huge is when there's a concert. There are alot of shops and small businesses but it's all pretty underwhelming.

we had a rather large party on a wednesday night and our food and service was INCREDIBLE. Nigel is the most personable and enjoyable waiter that I have ever had. we will be back soon!

My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day and had such a wonderful time. They did have a limited Valentine’s menu, but had so many great options. We got the calamari, which was SO GOOD. We also got the seafood pasta and it was to die for. The Alfredo sauce was absolutely delicious. We finished off with the creme brûlée and it was absolutely out of this world. I could tell they used real vanilla bean. One of the lady bartender’s took care of us and she was great! The atmosphere was great, drinks were strong, food was amazing, definitely recommend!

Villaggio Grille made everything so easy! We walked in at lunch to make a dinner reservation. They took care of us without any trouble. When we arrived for dinner, they were all ready for us. We had to make a special request for my daughter. She has a low-fat diet for health reasons. They didn't miss a beat and came out with the most beautiful dish of pasta and marina. My pizza was divine!

Google
Great atmosphere, very clean and open. Excellent service, food was surprisingly good. Mussels as the appetizer were excellent. I ordered my steak medium rare, came out closer to rare, but still very tender. The jumbo marshmallow sized scallops were PERFECTLY cooked, which is rarely the case in a restaurant. My wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo and it was excellent as well. Obviously scratch made on the spot and done just right. We will definitely be back.

Google
Basil chicken pasta was very good, but needed a touch of salt/pepper to bring out the garlic and compliment the sauce. Seafood pasta was a hit as well. We had lunch portions followed by splitting a tiramisu - yum.

Villaggio Grille at the Wharf in Orange Beach is an Italian style restaurant. I have been meaning to try this spot for literally years and I finally got around to having time to eat here! They offer an interesting variety of menus which include some nice happy hour specials for drinks and snacks; then they have a nice lunch menu and a separate dinner menu. For my first visit I enjoyed their Amberjack which was plated beautifully along with being quite delicious and full of flavor. I was rather impressed with the side of crab mashed potatoes, which had huge hunks of blue crab in it and my other side was asparagus which was cooked perfectly. For dessert I enjoyed their delicious chocolate cake which exceeded expectations. The service was friendly and they kept my iced tea full so I was happy with that. Overall I enjoyed my experience and I will return!

Yelp
Excellent food and staff, especially the bar tenders. Mike is an excellent server and bartender and is always paying attention to your needs in advance. I would recommend the lamb and any dish with the bolognese sauce. I have frequented this restaurant several times in the past years since Hurricane Sally while working on repairing a condo facility nearby. This became my favorite spot to decompress.

Carrie W.

Yelp
Great food and exceptional service as always pleasant atmosphere and kids loved light show

Henry R.

Yelp
Consistently good food and a great bar with a deep wine cellar. Staff is professional and many have been here for years. The restaurant itself is contemporary and well decorated with comfortable seating that encourages lingering over your meal-unusual for a "beach" restaurant experience. A large amount of covered outdoor seating is available, but be aware the mall shops have a loud light/music show that blares its performance every 30-60 minutes. The food itself is very good. The Caprese salad has fresh mozzarella, delicious tomatoes, and real balsamic. The kitchen puts out a great version of Bolognese sauce over house made pasta-tagliatelle. The filet is prime and delish. The grouper, local caught fresh, with a risotto was excellent. Overall a very good dining experience when in Orange Beach.

Yelp
Villagio Grille is a great restaurant inside the Wharf and is a popular spot for Italian restaurant lovers! The restaurant offers the best non pasta dishes in the cuisine and also has a great menu of wine and beer options!! The braised short rib is a perfect choice and is a delicious platter with colorful carrots! The grouper is nicely seasoned and pan fried with a touch of rice and green beans! The service is excellent and you can always count on the amount of effort and dedication that comes into the restaurant! Our waiter was attentive with the wine pairing with the food served from kitchen to table! Give Villagio Grille a try if you're in the mood for a great lunch or dinner! You will never go wrong with the food and atmosphere!

Yelp
Small beach town means everybody at that bar knows each other. True story because literally everybody knew each other. The bartenders were amazing and I ordered the beef Capacio and my girlfriend ordered the shrimp risotto. Oh, and let me expressed the main presentation was the delicious bread with the dipping sauce. That bread needs to be in my life full-time. But unfortunately, I do not live in the area. So, if you're visiting and this is probably the only time you'll have the opportunity, I suggest don't think about the carbs and order the bread. The bartender was even nice enough to give us a go box to take home with that bread. Not the bread that we're eating but a brand new loaf bread. It was a good time even if we were surrounded by creepy old man. Just kidding I'm sure they're very nice.

Yelp
Been quite a while since we hit this place and we are glad we did for an early dinner on a Saturday. We arrived at just after 4 and found out from Jim, our wonderful a server, that HH was every day from 3-6 and you can order off the lunch menu until 5 as well. We mixed it up and had meat and cheeses plate which was a lot of food for $18. Two entrees off the lunch menu and some yummy cocktails and beer. See my pictures for more. It was getting a bit more crowded as we were finishing up and those with reservations were showing up. As stated, Jim, a 14 year veteran here, was a lot of help and very friendly too. Oh yes, the hot bread with tapenade was really good too. Pizzas are half price on HH but we had pizza the night before so will try them next time. Pay them a visit but get reservations of after 5 PM. We will return.

Caroline H.

Yelp
Food was excellent and so was the service! The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly and the gnocchi made for a great pairing.

Laurie M.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our half price Happy Hour pizzas! Especially the shrimp/crawfish pizza.....outstanding! Margarita was a tad pricey, but was good... Will definitely go back for their pizza!

Dana M.

Yelp
We had a great visit here. We were here july 3rd for dinner. Make a reservation very recommend. Service was great. Everything came out in timely manner. We will definitely be back. We come here every year!

Rana M.

Yelp
We are regulars at Villaggio but tonight's dinner stood out. Our service was amazing! Our server Nigel was terrific from the start. His personality and service made our dinner. Caroline was also quick to offer an additional side dish and was also so friendly. The food is always fabulous and our service tonight just made dinner!

Larry S.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by Villaggio Grill for a quick snack and glass of wine. The weather was warm so we sat at the outside bar which had a great vibe. Our bartender, Abby, was quite attentive and the butternut squash raviolis were fantastic. Next time we'll have dinner since the food served to other guests looked amazing.

Susanne H.

Yelp
We came here about 45 minutes before they were ready to close. We had an attentive server that was very personable. We order an appetizer and two pizzas. Is it the most amazing pizza I have eaten? Nope. But it was certainly not the worst. It was above average, in my opinion. They do have outdoor dining, which did look like it would be nice to dine with. If I was in the area, I would eat here again.

Matt I.

Yelp
Really pleasantly surprised as we just walked in on a whim. Larger party and everyone really enjoyed their meals. From the bread, to salad, to pizza. You could not go wrong. Luke on his first day did amazing.

Dana H.

Yelp
Server was great! Ambiance was very nice. We had the Basil Chicken, Seafood Pasta, bread and Crème Brûlée. Food was delicious, but the Basil Chicken needed a little more salt (added salt and it was perfect). We will definitely eat here again when we come back to Gulf Shores!

Molly J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in Orange Beach because of the seafood pasta and calamari. This pasta dish may be my favorite seafood pasta ever. There are many other delicious selections on the menu, but I can't get past these two dishes! The pasta is loaded with seafood and in the perfect cream sauce. I've had this dish twice now at two different times of year- summer & winter- and it is consistently delicious. The calamari is fried to perfection. No rubbery fired rubber bands here. Just simple delicious calamari done right with a delicious sweet chili sauce. We made reservations and were seated right on time. The atmosphere was lovely for a nice dinner. Our service was fantastic. Wine selection was very nice. I will regularly visit Villagio when in Orange Beach.

Denise W.

Yelp
Food and service were awesome. Had the oven fired pizza which was beautiful and delicious. The light show at the wharf was really fun.

AMANDA C.

Yelp
Loved the food and the service was great! If you like Italian food, you will not be dispointed.

Randal M.

Yelp
Great food and service. It was Mother's Day without a reservation and was seated outside. Weather was great. The waiter was excellent. The food was delicious. I had the scallops and was so delicious. All six of us loved our meals. Would recommend for sure. Being from Hilton Head was impressed with this restaurant.

Erik D.

Yelp
Great food, just check your bill before you leave. The seafood pasta, pizza and the spaghetti was great!

Maria C.

Yelp
Food was great Service was friendly and attentive We sat outside and had a great view of the Wharf

Charlie W.

Yelp
Back again, perfect atmosphere, best pizza's ever, Chicken Pesto is our favorite! Great Apple Martinis! Service is always spot on. Matt is still "The Man" for Old Fashions.

Diana W.

Yelp
A very nice place for dinner at the Wharf. We started the meal with a caprese salad which was very nice. Had excellent old fashions and a Blonde beer with lots of taste. The Rack of Lamb was phenomenal - not gamey tasting at all - perfectly cooked, and over a bed of risotto. The veal piccata was overly breaded, and not to my taste, but the manager was nice enough to take it off the bill when she saw I didn't eat much of it. She even offered to bring me a different meal. Great service, nice ambiance, and a great general manager. You should check it out if you are at the Wharf!

Joanna M.

Yelp
Haven't been here in two years or so. It was not busy so we were seated very quickly. The bread was focaccia with olive oil with some tapenade. The oil and tapenade was good but it needed more tapenade. We ordered the pancetta Rockefeller. It was creamy and toasty. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered for the entree the seafood pasta, which came with a lobster tail. This was just so-so. Not really spectacular but not awful. So basically just eh. My husband ordered the grouper with crab on top. The fish was a little overcooked and was overloaded with corn. He also ordered a red wine, the name which had the name acres in it. He said it was a nice red. For dessert I ordered the crème brûlée, it was creamy and not too sweet, the only thing was that it was the thinest of thin layer of custard, like you barely dip your spoon in and it hits into the dish. It would have been nicer if it had been thicker. My husband ordered the carrot cake which was huge. It was entirely too sweet for me but he enjoyed it. Service was adequate, server came back several times to check up on us.

Lynda T.

Yelp
Be sure to ask for the Happy Hour menu as it may not be offered!! We missed out on the $5 Lemon Drop Martini's as our Waiter only presented the lunch menu. We did not eat but the food looked amazing.

Robin B.

Yelp
Such a nice restaurant with very nice hosts. Our server was on top of our drinks and we never went without. The food was pretty good with the lasagna being the most tasty dish in our party. My pizza was a little dry and I thought the prices were a little high but that might be normal for this area. It had two money signs on yelp so I expected it to be less money.

Laurie B.

Yelp
Service was wonderful Prices during happy hour and on lunch menu were reasonable Food was very good However they such in a credit card fee on your bill Not cool

M V.

Yelp
Excellent service and very good information about the offerings. The food was delicious for all 5 of our party.

Lyrical L.

Yelp
This place is pricey but it's worth cashing in that was bond. The pork chop was so tender that you even need a full set of teeth to eat it. We tried a few things and everything was incredible. It's worth the price.

Marcus M.

Yelp
This is a staple in Orange Beach. Great spot. Great staff. Food has been very consistent every time I have gone. I wouldn't consider this a true Italian place honestly, but you can't go wrong with most choices on the menu. They have some of the best risotto I have found. The fish of the day and risotto is hard to beat! Very chill spot.

Rickie Lee C.

Yelp
Always delicious! My husband & I come any time we have a date night or special occasion

Andrea C.

Yelp
10/10 service and food. The steak was so nice and tender. It had so much flavor. The grilled grouper was a 10/10 the flavors were outstanding. Will be coming back!!

Rob F.

Yelp
Excellent experience. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Try the Porkchop. The bonus is that they take reservations.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Walked in and were sat quickly. We were given complementary bread and dipping sauce. Matt our server was great. My husband ordered 18 oz "Cowboy ribeye" this wasn't what we thought it was going to be. He ordered it medium and it was well done. Matt was great about it offered to have it re made which we declined. Flavor was good. It came with cooked spinach they easily substituted for asparagus. My bolognese was delicious. The carrot cake was AMAZING!!!! Let me repeat AMAZING!!! We liked the ambiance and will return.

Annie B.

Yelp
Dangerous establishment! What business does this! We were seated at a booth & ordered our food. Suddenly we saw smoke and burning embers were raining down on my head & clothes. Worker was doing flammable repairs in the overhead ducts. My scalp, hair & clothes were burned. Exchanged info with the manager. As a Chef I'm extremely disappointed I wasn't contacted with empathetic concern within 48 hours. They are very lucky I'm not THAT person. Do your repairs when the RESTURANT IS CLOSED! Idiots

Joseph Z.

Yelp
The food is good. The service is terrific. It's very enjoyable to see folks shopping and having a good time at the Wharf.

Kathy R.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in the entire county/region, imo. Here's why. The food. The food is excellent. I often don't remember what I ordered at places. Not so here. I came here for my birthday once and ordered the swordfish and it was phenomenal. The food is fresh, delicious, and creatively prepared. Very high end and gourmet. I've never had anything here that wasn't amazing. Service: they hire the best waitstaff here. They're always prompt and polite. Ambiance: this is a lovely place to dine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and it's fancy yet somehow also casual at the same time. Try the outdoor seating. It's covered and very nice on a fine night. The wharf where this restaurant is situated does have a light show at night along with music that's maybe ten minutes long, so you also get a free show! Walking along the shops after dining is also a nice way to burn off a few calories! Don't miss the Ferris wheel! Personally I feel this is a dont- miss restaurant if you're visiting gulf shores or orange beach. It's pricey - but it's worth every dime - or should I say quarter?

Andy H.

Yelp
Located inside the Wharf - this is a solid restaurant with great food. Note that parking can be challenging if you don't like to walk. Atmosphere is white tablecloth and somewhere between casual and fine dining. You will be comfortable wearing a pair of shorts and a nice shirt. Great spot for a date. Service is some of the best in the area. Very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Good wine list and drink choices. Best of all they accept reservations!! Never had a bad meal here - the pizza and pastas are the stars of the menu in my opinion. The Chili Pepper Shrimp Pasta (ordered extra spicy) is one of our favorites! One place for slight improvement is the dessert menu. They are all good - but none of them will blow your socks off.

Christal S.

Yelp
Our first time here and loved it It was just my husband and I on a Wednesday evening, we were seated right away and David our server took very good care of us checking on us frequently, he made sure to keep us updated on our order and our drinks topped off. We both enjoyed our meals I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. The only reason I am giving this review 4 stars is the price is a little high compared to what is offered other than that, a great place to try

Alicia S.

Yelp
We absolutely had a wonderful time dining here on short notice! We were seated right away and the service was superb. It was such a wonderful surprise when the kids were given the surprise of fixing their own cheese pizza pies right at the table and could see them cooking in the oven! This was a much welcomed distraction after a long day of vacationing.

Patty V.

Yelp
Have lived in Gulf Shores for over 2 years. We have visited many restaurants in the area. Villaggio Grille has maintained it's quality in their food. Have pretty much gave up on most restaurants because the quality of their food has plummeted.

Joshua L.

Yelp
Limited menu that's always changing and very inconsistent service. Had an amazing time when we visited a few weeks ago with a party of 12 and our waitress was able to accommodate all of my large groups needs on a busy night. I came again tonight again with a group of 10 and we spent a large bill on drinks and foods but they couldn't make any small changes or substitutions on dishes for someone in my party with dietary restrictions. Our waiter told us that they are cutting back on substitutions and never even asked the kitchen and just told us definitely not very abruptly when we asked. I don't know if this is actually true or just a case of bad service from one waiter but regardless the service is inconsistent and it's quite frankly absurd that they can't make any small accommodations for a group this big that's ordering drinks and spending a large bill. There's plenty of great restaurants in town and at the wharf so I see no need to come back and give them any more business with such poor staff.

Kurt S.

Yelp
best Sunday brunch we've had in years. good service, great prices and romantic setting. we're coming back soon!

Marsha M.

Yelp
Absolutely delighted with my experiences at Villaggio's Grille! Over the years, whether I'm in the mood for a quick and delicious wood-fired pizza or indulging in a lavish fine dining affair, Villaggio's never fails to exceed my expectations. The consistent quality, warm ambiance, and impeccable service truly make it a standout dining destination. Five stars without a doubt!

Joseph C.

Yelp
Amazing food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. We eat here every time we are in town. Highly recommended this place.

Kara S.

Yelp
Wonderful food and people! I've had everything from their salads to pizza. They have a red pepper bisque that is amazing!

Drew T.

Yelp
In Gulfshores with the family, and after a week of seafood we've been craving some good Italian food. Villaggio Grille is the place where your longing for good Italian will be fulfilled. The appetizers are tasty, their wine selection is great, the staff is extremely friendly, and their food is fantastic!! We had the seafood pasta & the pasta bolognese both filled with flavor, bar none some of the best pasta we've had. When in town, or if you're a local (but I'm sure I don't have to tell you), this is the place to come!!!

Harold G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for people watching and taking a break from shopping. Good food and good happy hour pricing. Our server, James, took great care of us.

Dale D.

Yelp
As I sat in Villaggio's I wrote this review! Terrible tonight, called and made reservations...had to wait on our table..we were on time. We waiting and waiting and waiting ask the hostess if she could get us a table cleared. She gave me some excuse, and after a while we finally got seated. DINNER WAS NOT GOOD. Fish was horrible, steak had a gravy on it that made you think you where eating at a Sizzler. We are locals we live in GS, and we go there often. But tonight makes me want to take a break a long break from Villaggio's. Places need to slow down and stop being so greedy and take care of their customers, especially the locals....we are the ones that keep the doors open after the tour

Michelle M.

Yelp
Love this restaurant from the variety of choices to the atmosphere. The staff works very hard to provide a 5-star experience. The bartender makes excellent cocktails and makes sure you are happy with both your meal and cocktail selection while sitting at the bar. The food and service was excellent as I have experienced on several visits in the past.
