Google
Great selection of meats, okay prices, okay selection of Latin condiments/foods not just "mexican", but could use a bit of improvement. The only thing I do wish they had Veal and maybe some Spanish (spain) stuff. But other than that, it is a great market overall.

Google
Its a rip-offto charge 0.50 per bag to take the grocerys shame on willa lobos mkt + U get charged for items not purchase shame

Google
This place sells good Mexican style steaks for tacos and fajitas for Being in this area. I’m not sure about other days but on Sundays they close at 8:30 pm and not 9.

Google
Real lobos market great place for the Mexican touch. I buy my manure there of clean. Nice good Manila, honeycomb, Manila oil. They got the beef and pork butter. Uh, they have good meat alley. Nice little mexican market

Daisy Robles

Google
Very nice staff and the produce is very nice and good price.

Google
Fresh: meat, produce, chicken, seafood, vegetables, and random Mexican ingredients that are hard to find. It’s how every grocery store should be, few processed food isles and mainly fresh veggies and meats.

Stupid and senseless rules.. if you don't have an ID, although you can show a photo of your passport or driver lessons, it won't work for them to sell you alcohol.. What's the point of this nonsense?

Please pay close attention to this review, because it could save your life or that of a loved one. I used to live in the neighborhood where this market is located, and moved away about 10 years ago. Some of my family occasionally heads out that way, and recently I asked them to stop by for me and buy some of their Salvadoran chorizo. I decided to do a bbq with some of my folks, and invited my brother & his kids. Among everything I grilled was this Salvadoran chorizo I had brought for me. Partway through our dinner, one of the children started choking. My brother quickly sprung to assist his child, and fortunately was able to remove the hazard from his throat and found A LONG STRAND OF PLASTIC FILM IN THE CHORIZO! At first I thought it might be the casing, but upon close inspection it turns out it was indeed plastic. But that wasn't all... When we continued to eat, as I cut into a piece of chorizo on my own plate, I pulled A SECOND long strand of this same plastic film from inside of it. That's times 2 in a single order of only about 3 pounds of their Salvadoran chorizo. These people are clearly poorly trained and don't uphold adequate food safety & food handling practices. I can't imagine a more sloppy, careless, and dangerous way of preparing food for the public. Stay away from their sausages or ground meats because clearly they're just blindly chucking stuff into the grinder with wrapping plastic & who knows what else.

Yelp
Their goods are always fresh and the staff friendly. Love their pre marinated meet for BBQ.

Yelp
My favorite carnicería, the meat is always good with little nerves. This place is always packed and it's small. But worth the wait. There's plenty of parking and a guard oversees the parking

Yelp
Great biggish little Hispanic market that has the basics and more. Open daily at 7am it's fantastic to have it close as my emergency-run grocery store.

Yelp
The place was full of flies and had a pungent meat smell. I could tell immediately that the food quality was not very good, which was disappointing because I was looking forward to this being my New Mexican market.

George L.

Yelp
I think this will be the last time I shop at The Villalobos. Has always been one of my favorite Carnicerias to go to ever since I was a kid. Even when I moved from Hollywood I would drive here to buy my meat and stuff. But this past Monday I bought me some Ranchera, Spare Ribs and some Argentinian Chorizo. Grilled it had a blast with family but the next morning my whole household was sick with Diarrhea and throwing up. Guys check you meats before purchasing. I made the mistake that I did not check now my household is sick.

Yelp
BE AWARE! I found a fly on the pastries!!! I always buy meat from but I'm not sure if I should even do that. If they allow flys to roam around on the pastries, then who knows what's on the meat?!? This is a disgusting practice and this place can easily get shut down because its against health code, and it's just plain NASTY!

Yelp
This market is the best little market I've been to. I always prefer this over any other tiendita. They have literally EVERYTHING you need for your Latin dishes. I'm salvi & Mexican mixed so I find things for both sides all the time. It's so cute in there & I am amused at everything they have. The prices are alittle high one certain items but so worth it. They're meat is always bomb too! Best marinated chicken I've tried!

Yelp
Best carniceria in LA! Marinated meat is always delicious! The market is small so be prepared to wait in line if you go on the weekends. Back lot parking is available but there's plenty of street parking. Offer many types and cuts of meats and seafood.

Yelp
This little Hispanic grocery store has a great variety of meat. It is fresh all the time. They have imported items from central american countries. It's a little crowded since the space is small however it's a lively place. if you are thinking of making a barbecue this is the place to visit.

Yelp
This place has great price for tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, pretty much everyday groceries, which cost a fraction of what you pay for at food 4 less. It's fresh that you always see someone restocking them everyday. It is a tiny space, so bad you can't walk with your cart, but the produce and meat are so fresh you don't care how you carry your items, you just leave a cart with your items inside and go about your business and you'll still find your cart there with everything on it, lol. The whole chicken (gallina india entera) is cheap $1.49/lb! And they tasted so good after I cooked them. The produce is fresh, cashiers are quick and know what they're ringing up. This place is a must if you plan to buy in bulk for a gathering, thanksgiving, etc. Happy hunting :-)

Yelp
The best marinated beef!! The absolute best CARNE ASADA ever will not disappoint!!! You need to try all the meats
google avatar

Yelp
The best marinated chicken in town. Have been coming here over 20 years and although i have moved to the other side of town and can take me up to 40 minutes to get there in traffic, I still drive there for my meat. I haven't found another place that resembles the quality or taste or their meats.

Yelp
Easter Sunday life-saving delicious carne asada perparada. Friendly deli area. Making this place my go-to from now on. :)

Yelp
I came here because it's a local store where my parents come to buy some quick groceries all the time. I've been here before a couple times and have never had a bad experience until now... I came to grab 5 pounds of ribs and some other meats. When I ordered it the man put it on the scale and printed the price tag and placed it on my bag. I noticed that it was priced wrong. It was priced at $9.10 when it was supposed to be priced at about $40, so being the nice person I am, I decided to do the right thing and tell the man. When the man saw the bag he said it was correct and told me to leave. So I didn't make a big deal out of it because I was with family. When I got to the register the lady who was the cashier looked at the bag and told me,"you made a mistake so go back to the man in the back and get a different price.". She was really rude about it and that's when I asked to see a manager and she denied it. I went back to the man who was cutting the meat and told him that the cashier had told me to go back and get a different price because I made a mistake. He then told me he couldn't help me because he had already printed that one. So it went back and forth and I wasted about 20 minutes of my time to buy some meat, I had to get in like 3 times for a small mistake they made. I don't get how the cashier said it was my mistake when I'm not the one pricing or selling the meat. I come from a customer service background so I don't understand why they couldn't just print out another one and gave me price so I can pay for it instead of sending me back and forth. I personally won't be coming back to buy anything here nor will I recommend this place to anyone. And sorry for the bad review but this experience really sucked. I never give anyone a one star unless they deserve it.

Yelp
The only problem that I found is that I saw a woman fixing the breads with the same gloves she was wearing when she was doing other things. She could have use a bag over her gloves or the tongs but she didn't

Yelp
Excellent market with meat, veg, and dry goods at unbelievably reasonable prices. Parking in the back. It is always busy because the locals know a good place when the see one. Definitely worth a ride.

Yelp
I live in Visalia, and when I come to L.A. I make it a point to get the ranchera preparada here. The best flavor I've had. When I lived in Hollywood all the families for their meats here.
google avatar

Charlie D.

Yelp
This place has some great meat options, different styles of marinated beef and chicken, seafood, and a great fresh greens section. The store has a great flow, and you can pick up BBQ fixins very quickly!!! I love the marinated carne asada here!!

Yelp
Love coming here but recently there's this guy who works there for some reason he didn't want to let me in keep in mind I had gloves and mask which is now required he said one person per household my mother and I don't live together which he assume we did so disrespectful we drove 25 minutes to buy meat here when I asked for a manager he ignored me no one paid attention to me Ok fine! Next time I show up he wasn't at the door he was inside and he looked at me and send someone to tell me to get out I don't understand why I don't know if he owns this place or what his problem is but he is so mean I used to live a block from this place me and my mother been coming here for years he did try to hit on me once and I said I was married but that shouldn't be a reason to kick me out I'm a paying customer keep in mind I have never told him anything rude or even look his way to bad I didn't even get his name! Next time I'll take a picture better!

Yelp
Today my child and myself were discriminated by a women employee at this store, the employees refused to give me any information regarding the Owner or the employee's name who discriminated us, my child opened a banana from the pack I was buying when I got to the register I asked for a bag holding my Ebt stamps in my hand to pay and the women said I could have a paper bag giving me a attuided, after that she charges me everything and takes 1 banana away from the pack after charging me, I asked her with all respect why are you taking a banana away? My child ate one which you can charge me for and I can pay the whole pack, the women at the register refused to put it back in the pack because I was paying with a ebt food stamps and according to her I wasn't able to pay for it she then said she couldn't charge me 1 banana if I was paying with ebt food stamps neither put it back in the pack. She then looked over the other employee asking for help, I explained what she did and I could pay for it, the employee told the women to charge the banana single and put it back in the pack. The women said she didn't understand so she wasn't doing it and refused. I asked her give me back my food stamps and she refused after I asked her 3times and she looked over the other employee and the employe told her give it back her card, finally she did. I went over the next register and asked for the owner's number and the women's name but the employe refused, she said he was on break and is never there, she then said to call the store and I asked for the women's name and employees said it was Yessica. I was discriminated for using a ebt food stamp to pay my groceries and the employe refused to charge me a single banana because I was paying with the ebt. No mother or child should ever go through this, I was being yelled at in the store in front of many people and put through so much embarrassment over 1 banana. Please you have the owners information I would appreciate it, he needs to know and I'm not sure if I have been the only one discriminated here but if you have been discriminated in this same place I encourage you to come forward and speak up, thank you.

Yelp
Came here over the weekend to buy some prepared meat for a little BBQ we were hosting and it was delicious! We even found these mexican chips that are hard to find at other stores. Would go back again for future meat purchases.

Yelp
Suport the independent stores!! Extremely happy to discover this place. The staff are extremely friendly, most of the produce is well priced depending on the day. Definitely the best option for produce I have found near Hollywood. It is a small market but definitely stocks most things you need at rather cheap prices. I used to drive out to Super King to fill my fridge with fresh produce but this is much more convenient and has parking out the back.

Yelp
Stopped by to get a bottle of water and bought pastries as well... ....The most delicious bread pudding I have ever had! Will be back again for this delicious hunk of sugar bread and I think I detect rum.

Yelp
Never thought I would write a review for a food market- but this little place has won me over. The fruits and vegetables are FRESH and visually appealing. The prices are great, I don't remember ever leaving a supermarket with 2 bags full of fruits and vegetables and paying less than $20 for everything. The clerks and the cashier are very helpful and pleasant. Even the security guard is helpful with the baskets, carts. The only drawback is that the place is small, but if you know what you want you can get in and out easily, it also has a parking lot and plenty of parking. I used to shop across the street from this place, thinking I was getting a deal, but boy was I wrong. Shop at Villalobos Market, you won't regret it.

Maria C.

Yelp
They have a great selection of different types of meats and chicken. You can find anything here from dairy products to vegetables to breads and a lot of other great products you can't really find in other stores.

Melissa n.

Yelp
I am from the Caribbean and I love to shop at Villalobos Market Market. I buy my meat sand green bananas and other food products. We need more of these markets. I want to see more products from Central America. Thank you.
google avatar

Yesenia C.

Yelp
Very small market I give it a five star ONLY because their prepared carne asada meat is off the hook. The best i have ever had the seasoned chicked is delicious too. The lines can get a bit hectic at times but it's worth the wait when you are having a bbq.

Patricia O.

Yelp
Small market, but it has everything you need. They always have fresh lorocos :) There meat market is great, love the chorizos centroamericanos, and everything else.

Lori H.

Yelp
Smelly, grimy and unsanitary place. This place is disgusting. I shop for a lot of fruits and vegetables and the shelves there are grimy. When you first walk over to the produce section, you notice an awful smell. I wasn't sure what that putrid smell was and was hoping I would pass it up to get to the vegetables. The floor is just as grimy and greasy as where the produce is. Up close, I found a lot of wilted greens, way past expiration. As I went to speak to a manager, I noticed what looked like a small rodent scurry underneath the refrigerated area. I couldn't quite tell cause it was out of the side of my eye. The staff would not tell me the manager's name. I got out of there as quick as I can. Do not go there. Yuk!

Yelp

Yelp
nice neighborhood meat market. great place to get fresh veggies

Sanford B.

Yelp
Terrific meat department with probably the best carne asada and pollo asada in LA. Workers are helpful and parking is generally easy - down the "street" just West of the store, past the security guard post. They also have some good Mexican sweet and nice selection of other Mexican staples. Very good prices. This is my go-to market for backyard BBQ's.

Charlie C.

Yelp
this place has never been rated!! (not suprised, the ppl that shop there dont look like they own computers ..lol).. it is by far the best place to buy meat 4 bbqing . the marination is absolutely delicious, the beef is extremely tender.. this is the place !
