Ville sull'Arno (Florence, Tuscany) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Thoroughly renovated the Ville sull’Arno may be, but anyone expecting a pure, strong dose of contemporary design has grasped the wrong end of the stick. This place is dedicated to fantasy, and period fantasy at that: here it’s all about the 19th century, the Romantic era, the days of the Grand Tour. The only question is how intense you want the experience to be." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at Villa Sur Arno was nothing short of magical, made even more unforgettable because we held our intimate wedding in the villa’s beautiful greenhouse. It was the perfect setting—romantic, serene, and surrounded by the charm of Florence. The staff went above and beyond to make the moment feel personal and special, and we truly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to say “I do.”||From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us with genuine warmth. They surprised us with a chilled bottle of champagne waiting in our room, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the entire stay. Every interaction with the staff felt sincere and attentive, and they handled our wedding details with such care that we were able to relax and savor every moment.||The villa itself is stunning—elegant interiors, spacious rooms, and views that made our wedding photos even more spectacular. ||We loved the location as well. It’s tucked just far enough from the city center to feel private and calm, yet still close enough for easy access to everything Florence has to offer. After exploring the city, returning to the villa truly felt like coming home.||Villa Sur Arno exceeded every expectation and played an unforgettable role in our wedding day. We are deeply grateful for the care and hospitality we received, and we would recommend this villa wholeheartedly to anyone planning a special stay—or an even more special celebration—in Florence.

From check-in to check-out, the front desk personnel were very personable, courteous, and answered our questions. We took advantage of the spa, which was very relaxing after being on the train. The hotel is very clean. We enjoyed a glass of wine and sandwich in their bar area. Their breakfast was fabulous; so much to choose from. Since the hotel is a bit away from the center, we used the shuttle. Nice perk. The room was luxurious, along with the bathroom. We had a lovely view of the sunset from our room. This is THE place to relax and unwind.

Great 5 star hotel within walking distance of Florence. The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from central Florence. They also have a shuttle that runs about every 30 minutes between 9 to 5 as well. The in house amenities are fantastic. The bar and restaurant are incredible and worthy of a visit if you aren’t staying at the hotel. It’s also very reasonably priced. The cooking class is incredible. Thank you to Alessandro for running it. It costs €145 per person, you make a variety of fresh pasta, sauce and prepare beef for a beef tartare. It goes from 4-6pm. However you don’t consume immediately - instead you come back at dinner time and the chefs finalise and plate your creations into a tasting menu. Honestly so much fun and we learned so much. One of the best cooking classes we have done across Italy and Spain. Would strongly recommend this hotel.

My fiancee and I went there to get married. The hotel was exceptionally helpful in accommodating us with every resource necessary to pull it off including their garden room. Things turned out quite beautiful. Overall I found the service quite exceptional. The room was nice, just a bit small and I wish there was more room for clothes and luggage. The shuttle will take you to center city but reserve your spot as it only seats 8. The location along the river makes for a nice evening stroll. There is a spa with a Turkish bath, sauna and steam room as well as massage. Thanks for making the wedding ceremony special.

The place is really nice and clean, staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms are small, shower is big. The location is 25 min walk from city center, shuttles are nice but there are only 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. If you want to drive back later than 18:00 you need to take public transportation or taxi. Note the city tax (8€ per night per person) atr note included. Other extra services are very expensive: 29€ per day for parking a car, laundry is per item and socks are 3€ so it sums up high. Hot tub is 36° which is not so hot.

We loved staying here. The staff was so unbelievably kind and made our honeymoon so special. The bikes available made getting to the main sites so fun and so easy. There was also a convenient shuttle if you do not want to bike. I loved this place so much. It is a quick taxi drive to the train station too. Thank you so much for the making our stay so great.

We stayed for a week at the end of August. Everything about Villa Sull’Arno was excellent. It is immaculately clean, the staff are really friendly, the pool area is lovely for a refresh. The massage and spa well worth the time. The restaurant breakfast was exceptional and the evening meals excellent. We had a river view room with a balcony.||The hotel is about a 35min walk along the river to the City or the hotel has a free shuttle bus, which is great. We enjoyed the walk which is very picturesque.||As an alternative to the hotel restaurant we found the Jazz Cafe which is down the road opposite the hotel (across the road) which made a nice change.||We wholeheartedly recommend Villa Sull’Arno.

Yelp
Fantastic comfortable hotel. I've stayed at the famous hotels of the area that cost a fortune. This isn't a budget hotel by any means but they totally get it. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet with no extraneous lights. Shower was amazing though the curtain set up let water splash out but no biggie. 30 minute walk to Florence. (I love walking in Europe as much as i can). There is a bike path as well with loaner bikes for free. The hotel has shuttle service as well. Staff was just so friendly and all spoke enough English and didn't mind my attempts at italiano. Mille grazie Ville Sull'Arno!

Yelp
Simply a dream on the River Arno with all the ingredients to create your own fairy tale. The reception staff and concierge were particularly top notch and hospitable. Every single employee we encountered from the valets to the spa staff to the cleaning staff to the restaurant and lounge staff were uncommonly professional and hospitable. I can't praise and thank them enough. I traveled with my precious dog who was greeted and treated like royalty. The property itself is understated elegance at its very zenith. Our room with daybed and claw footed tub was regal. The bathroom extravagant with heated towel rack and bidet. The entire property was pristinely clean. If I ever return to Florence my stay will be at the unique and unparalleled home away from home, Ville sull'Arno.

Yelp
We were not planning on staying here, but we ended up staying here for our first night in Florence because of a mixup at another hotel. What a treat! The building did not look great from outside. Neither was the lobby. However, the rest of the hotel was great. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. Very classy. We enjoyed our dinner on the patio/courtyard. Contrary to what another reviewer said, this hotel is not close to the city center, the major landmarks. You could walk, but I would rent a bicycle (as another reviewer pointed out) or take a cab to save time. The best part of my stay was their breakfast. It was by far the most luxurious buffet style breakfast I've ever had in my life. It was almost like the restaurant was made of food (I will post a couple of photo when I find them). I have only stayed at three different hotels in Florence, but I cannot think of any other hotel but Ville sull'Arno for my next trip to Florence. Five stars, literally, as good as it gets! Yelp
One of the best places to stay in the world. Accommodating, beds are great. Showers and baths are excellent, and use of a spa type pool imitating the blue grotto in capri, and a steam room with perfumed showers afterwords. I was in complete heaven and joy. And the views at the arno in our room - wonderful. Hats off to Julia and Stella in reception. Both are stellar at helping us. Accommodating us, and getting us what we needed. One of the best days of four nights in my life. My wife and I really appreciate it. They arranged a cooking lesson in the restaurant that was one of the best experiences of our two weeks in Italy. Hats off to you both. I also took a bike out which was really wonderful. The only thing is make arrangements for the shuttle, which are limited to times and schedule and done by a third-party. So confirm and reconfirm and get their phone number. Take a taxi it's about €10. Depends on time of day and night as there are surcharges so it could be eight your room, or it could be 18 at 11 PM. Who cares, they know their way and are very accommodating.

Yelp
Loved our stay in this marvelous hotel. It is a little distance from city center, but the hotel is large by Florence standards and the breakfast is wonderful. Staff is very helpful and the Spa is just amazing. Great place to stay.

Yelp
I recently reviewed as a 5 star, but it deserves to go down for something that happened on the last day. My step mum have severe gluten allergy and there was a lot of products on the gluten free list that contained a big amount of it, when we talked to the kitchen manager they smiled and barely gave the importance needed. Really great hotel. They have shuttle to Florence center for free, you do need to make a reservation. Breakfast is not included but has a pretty good selection. A great part is that they offer a free router hotspot for you to take with you for the day that works great and fast. I recommend!!

Yelp
Very nice hotel. Husband and I had a room by the water. Rooms have a vintage, rustic feel but with modern amenities. Staff was friendly. Dont pay for the breakfast. Not worth it. There are bakeries a few blocks away. It was a nice hotel BUT its far away from the city center and main attractions and eateries. While we liked it We recommend staying closer to the center of the city.

Yelp
Loved this hotel. Best one I have stayed in in Italy. Service is truly impeccable. Bikes are free. Food is amazing. Room was comfortable and unique. Great stay!

Yelp
Absolutely lovely villa in Florence with outstanding service. Designed so nicely and so much more comfortable then staying in the center of Florence. More space and restaurant is fantastic as well. The walk to the center of Florence is easy and we found it so nice to be a little removed from everything. Very quiet area and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Loved our stay here. Their rooms are great and decorated well. Beds were comfy. The staff is very nice and helpful. The location is great as its right on the river and not far from the main center. We had breakfast included and that was great. Staff is hard working. The lack of one star is because we had a couples massage and the therapists were horrible. They do have good amenities in their spa though if you want to use their soaking baths. Great boutique hotel. I would stay here again.
