The Freshest Hotels in Florence

"Thoroughly renovated the Ville sull’Arno may be, but anyone expecting a pure, strong dose of contemporary design has grasped the wrong end of the stick." - Mark Fedeli

This hotel was perfect for our requirements. Romantic, a little bit out of town, with all the facilities we require. The receptionist Claudia was so helpful throughout our stay. Our flight home was cancelled and the hotel quickly ensured we had a room for our additional time. The food was outstanding. Breakfast choice and quality blew us away. We did have dinner one night and this was perfect. A big shout out to Adrian for helping us choose a,great wine for our meal. Not sure what else to say. We loved the hotel, the staff and quality of everything. The shuttle service is a great option if like us, your feet are aching. Thank you again to Claudia. My wife and I will always remember your kindness and help.

A brilliant week in Florence staying here. From check in the staff were all friendly and attentive, Deo at breakfast (and all the breakfast staff) was always friendly and remembered what coffees we liked. The hotel is relaxed and effortless. The pool is a beautiful set up, fresh towels on the beds is a lovely touch. We ate dinner one night and it was a delicious meal! We got the shuttle in to town, always available when we checked and walked back (to burn off all the food we’d eaten!) |Highly recommend!

A Perfect Retreat After Exploring Florence!|Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. After spending a couple of days exploring the vibrant and bustling streets of Florence, it was an absolute pleasure to return to such a peaceful and beautiful retreat.||The hotel itself is immaculate throughout—spotlessly clean, and clearly very well cared for. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable, and offered everything we needed to relax and recharge.||We also dined at the hotel restaurant, and the food was outstanding—delicious, beautifully presented, and with options to suit the whole family, including our 9 year daughter. What really stood out, though, was the level of service. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, professional, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.||We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our time in Florence. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our short stay here while visiting Florence. The spa is to die for and we had sole use. Very much appreciated the room upgrade with river views very peaceful. We ate in restaurant the first night and it was delicious albeit too formal for my teenager! We chose this location because it wasn’t central but there are lots of roadworks which impact taxi costs and the bookable but free transfer service only works set hours so you need a taxi back if you want to be in the centre in the evening. We found some local restaurants across the river which were good however.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our stay in Tuscany and had a great time. The hotel is around 1.4 miles from the centre of Florence and it’s a flat walk by the side of the river. There is also a complimentary shuttle bus that runs from around 10am to 7.20 pm which you can book in advance and it takes you into the historic centre. The pool area is lovely and has sunbeds and chairs for relaxing. Our room was a good size and was nicely furnished and decorated with a large, comfy bed and all necessary amenities. There is parking on site at 26 euros per night. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay somewhere just outside the centre but with an easy walk into town.

We stayed in this lovely hotel during the first week of July 2025. An absolutely fabulous and relaxing oasis from the heat and hustle of central Florence. From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out our stay was flawless, attentive staff who couldn't do enough to make the experience very special. ||Particular highlights:|- Room 242 that my wife and I stayed in was beautiful, we were very happy to have received an upgrade and the balcony and river view was superb. Lots of nice touches in the room which was very quiet and had excellent A.C!|- Breakfast was a nice experience, lots of fresh local produce to choose from in a relaxed environment (either inside or outside tables available).|- We had dinner in the restaurant on one evening which was superb. High quality food served by friendly and knowledgable staff.|- Finally the pool, what a life saver in that heat! To be honest it was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel and what a bonus. The pool opened at 10:00 each day and there was no mad rush to secure a subbed, plenty of umbrellas for shade and a nice pool bar / food service available.||I wouldn't hesitate to re-book the hotel again and can't speak highly enough of it.||Bellissimo !!!

This is supposedly a five star hotel however not sure how they even earned 3 stars!? Not one to be particular or write a semi-negative review however feel that others should be aware before booking. The hotel staff was quite underwhelming. The room was TINY with no where for luggage. No in room Coffee unless you count instant coffee. The complementary shuttle is only 8 seats meaning one family nearly fills the shuttle particularly during peak hours. The facilities were fine however nothing to write home about. The Turkish bath in the spa has mold all over the ceiling and the outdoor pool had notable grime and deferred maintenance. Feels like this used to be a state of the art facility that has since been let go. Again, all of these things are somewhat expected of a 2-3 star hotel, not five star hotel. Book with the expectation of courtyard Marriott!

Ville sull’Arno is a charming hotel. The room was lovely, especially the spacious bathroom. I had informed the hotel in advance via email about charging my EV, and they took care of it right away – excellent service! The staff at the reception and those handling the vehicles were very friendly and helpful. Charging costs €25 and parking is €26 per day, which does add up quickly. Unfortunately, the poolside service didn’t quite match the rest of the hotel. No one was checking whether loungers were actually occupied, and guests often left their towels behind. On two days, there were no fresh towels available at the pool, and it took several minutes for staff to bring new ones. The biggest disappointment: €16 for an Aperol Spritz at the pool. That’s simply excessive. In fact, during my two days there, I didn’t see anyone ordering drinks other than the occasional €5 cola. From a business perspective, that pricing just doesn’t make sense. Overall, a nice stay with excellent in-house service, but the poolside experience needs improvement – hence one star deducted.

Yelp
Fantastic comfortable hotel. I've stayed at the famous hotels of the area that cost a fortune. This isn't a budget hotel by any means but they totally get it. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet with no extraneous lights. Shower was amazing though the curtain set up let water splash out but no biggie. 30 minute walk to Florence. (I love walking in Europe as much as i can). There is a bike path as well with loaner bikes for free. The hotel has shuttle service as well. Staff was just so friendly and all spoke enough English and didn't mind my attempts at italiano. Mille grazie Ville Sull'Arno!

Yelp
Simply a dream on the River Arno with all the ingredients to create your own fairy tale. The reception staff and concierge were particularly top notch and hospitable. Every single employee we encountered from the valets to the spa staff to the cleaning staff to the restaurant and lounge staff were uncommonly professional and hospitable. I can't praise and thank them enough. I traveled with my precious dog who was greeted and treated like royalty. The property itself is understated elegance at its very zenith. Our room with daybed and claw footed tub was regal. The bathroom extravagant with heated towel rack and bidet. The entire property was pristinely clean. If I ever return to Florence my stay will be at the unique and unparalleled home away from home, Ville sull'Arno.

Yelp
We were not planning on staying here, but we ended up staying here for our first night in Florence because of a mixup at another hotel. What a treat! The building did not look great from outside. Neither was the lobby. However, the rest of the hotel was great. I loved the ambience of the restaurant. Very classy. We enjoyed our dinner on the patio/courtyard. Contrary to what another reviewer said, this hotel is not close to the city center, the major landmarks. You could walk, but I would rent a bicycle (as another reviewer pointed out) or take a cab to save time. The best part of my stay was their breakfast. It was by far the most luxurious buffet style breakfast I've ever had in my life. It was almost like the restaurant was made of food (I will post a couple of photo when I find them). I have only stayed at three different hotels in Florence, but I cannot think of any other hotel but Ville sull'Arno for my next trip to Florence. Five stars, literally, as good as it gets! Yelp
One of the best places to stay in the world. Accommodating, beds are great. Showers and baths are excellent, and use of a spa type pool imitating the blue grotto in capri, and a steam room with perfumed showers afterwords. I was in complete heaven and joy. And the views at the arno in our room - wonderful. Hats off to Julia and Stella in reception. Both are stellar at helping us. Accommodating us, and getting us what we needed. One of the best days of four nights in my life. My wife and I really appreciate it. They arranged a cooking lesson in the restaurant that was one of the best experiences of our two weeks in Italy. Hats off to you both. I also took a bike out which was really wonderful. The only thing is make arrangements for the shuttle, which are limited to times and schedule and done by a third-party. So confirm and reconfirm and get their phone number. Take a taxi it's about €10. Depends on time of day and night as there are surcharges so it could be eight your room, or it could be 18 at 11 PM. Who cares, they know their way and are very accommodating.

Yelp
Loved our stay in this marvelous hotel. It is a little distance from city center, but the hotel is large by Florence standards and the breakfast is wonderful. Staff is very helpful and the Spa is just amazing. Great place to stay.

Yelp
I recently reviewed as a 5 star, but it deserves to go down for something that happened on the last day. My step mum have severe gluten allergy and there was a lot of products on the gluten free list that contained a big amount of it, when we talked to the kitchen manager they smiled and barely gave the importance needed. Really great hotel. They have shuttle to Florence center for free, you do need to make a reservation. Breakfast is not included but has a pretty good selection. A great part is that they offer a free router hotspot for you to take with you for the day that works great and fast. I recommend!!

Yelp
Very nice hotel. Husband and I had a room by the water. Rooms have a vintage, rustic feel but with modern amenities. Staff was friendly. Dont pay for the breakfast. Not worth it. There are bakeries a few blocks away. It was a nice hotel BUT its far away from the city center and main attractions and eateries. While we liked it We recommend staying closer to the center of the city.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely villa in Florence with outstanding service. Designed so nicely and so much more comfortable then staying in the center of Florence. More space and restaurant is fantastic as well. The walk to the center of Florence is easy and we found it so nice to be a little removed from everything. Very quiet area and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Loved our stay here. Their rooms are great and decorated well. Beds were comfy. The staff is very nice and helpful. The location is great as its right on the river and not far from the main center. We had breakfast included and that was great. Staff is hard working. The lack of one star is because we had a couples massage and the therapists were horrible. They do have good amenities in their spa though if you want to use their soaking baths. Great boutique hotel. I would stay here again.
