Google
Online it said to bring your own food, so we did. We ordered wine and a pizza since they gave us a food menu, we felt bad since we brought food we orders some. Our server was super rude the whole time. When we asked about the pizza after 45 minutes or how to get another glass of wine at the bar or at the table… the SAD EXCUSE FOR AN OWNER (who we didn’t know was the owner) snapped at us letting me know what a bar is and that’s how a bar works. She actually made fun of us. (Not knowing that I have ran bars and I am a licensed, professional and certified bartender) Then, after almost two hours, she suddenly told us no outside food was allowed and was even more rude. We would’ve followed the rules if she’d said something earlier, but instead it was just bad vibes. I won’t be going back. NONE OF US WILL and WE WILL BE PASSING THE WORD AROUND ABOUT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

I forgot to take a picture of our drinks. Nevertheless, this is a wine spot that is in a prime location. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. We sat outside on the patio to indulge in our strawberry wine margaritas. They were just okay, but the ambiance is to pay for. I loved it.

Google
Service is exceptional. Food has a great presentation. Knowledge of pairing is spectacular. Highly recommended.

Google
Cute little wine bar! We didn't try the food, but the bottle of wine we got was delightful. The service was great, too - would definitely go back!

Matt Goodwin

Google
Do not go here!!! The wine is overpriced and the servers will rush you out! Not a good vibe either so keep that in mind!

Caroline Keys

Google
Tell me why the flatbread I grabbed here randomly one day was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten?

Hannah Craft

Google
The rudest people I have ever met. Google said they opened at 4 so I got there at 4 to enjoy a bite while I took a work call. Well they were closed so I sat outside on a bench and took my call. Well they opened late (things happen, I get it) but I am in the middle of my call and they interrupt me and ask me if I want to see a menu. I am talking and distracted so I say not right now after my call. They then come back and tell me that I need to leave so I quickly said I am wrapping up my call, planning to order after... 10 minutes later a very rude man came out and gestured toward me and very curtly/rudely said you need to get out of here. Needless to say, they will never be getting my business.

Google
This place is made for good people, friendly conversations, and premium wine. I know wine is what people may come here for- and trust me when I say that the wine is top shelf- but the owners make it a home. 100% a pleasure to even have a glass of wine with such an establishment.

Yelp
Great outdoor seating and service! Right off rail trail not far from East/West Light Rail station or parking at Atherton Mill

Yelp
Happy Fri-yay!! This casual wine bar sits in south end right on the rail trail. It's so fun to watch all the cute dogs walk by and people watch while we relax. My fiancé and I parked in the accompanying shopping center and sat down for a delicious and refreshing wine flight. We are now enjoying our favorites in a glass paired with the Spinach Artichoke Chicken flatbread. (would recommend with a light red) Aaron, our master server, has been so attentive and helpful with the menu. Nothing like a beautiful Alfresco table with excellent wine and snacks to help us feel a little spoiled as we enter the weekend. Thanks Vin Master. We will be back!!

Yelp
While I'm more of a beer than a wine guy, I still really enjoy wine bars, and in all of Charlotte, Vin Master might be my favorite one! First off their location is great, tucked away on the backside of Atherton Mill. They are located right along the rail trail near plenty of great shopping so it is a perfect place to stop and grab a glass of wine after a busy day and allows for great people watching. They tend to focus on smaller boutique wines from all around the world, and they also sell wine at retail so it's a good place to go pick up a unique bottle instead of getting the usual from the grocery store. Their employees are knowledgeable and friendly, so if you are like me and have minimal wine knowledge, they are very helpful with recommending wines and offerings tastes. The inside is small and cozy, giving an intimate laid back feel, but on a nice evening I prefer to sit outside on the patio which makes you feel like you're smack dab in the middle of southend. They don't serve food, but they are located right by a bunch of good restaurants, so they are a great place for pre dinner drinks, or a nice night cap after your meal. Overall this is a charming wine bar that checks all the boxes, and is one that I highly recommend!

Yelp
Really like this place! Right in the heart of South End and positioned a very short walk from Indaco and O-Ku. Perfect place to grab a pre-meal drink if you're early to dinner at either spot. The atmosphere is great. Relaxed, sports usually on the TV and good music. Service is great as well! The wine list is extensive with your usual favorites, but unique ones from places like Romania. The food is good too. They do not skimp on the charcuterie, loads of food! The flatbread is very simple and light. Do not expect to be full after eating just one.

Yelp
We had a couple glasses of wine in this spot on a weeknight. The service was attentive. I wish there was more knowledge of the wines by the servers though. That would elevate this spot to 5 stars. Note that it was a little loud inside. Otherwise, the lighting was conducive to enjoying yourself.

Andy B.

Yelp
Went there for first time in a while. Great atmosphere and location. However, food left a lot to be desired. Glad it was half price day. Wine/Service - A Food - C-

Yelp
Soooo, we went back for a second night and it was even better than the first. I read many reviews raving about the Mediterranean platter so I had to try for myself. Dang that thing was gooood. It's busting with flavors with a huge portion of hummus, pita bread, olives, pickles, tomatoes and so much more. This paired with the wine was perfect. I cannot say enough about the service. They were very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the wines they offer. I might have found my new favorite spot.

Yelp
We stumbled in here by chance and left newfound fans. This is the perfect place for grabbing a drink before dinner. I'm usually a Chardonnay drinker or a Lambrusco, but I stepped outside the box and asked for recommendations for their Cabernet. Fell in love with sweet, gentle spice of the Pavelle. Park at the Atherton and walk over. Such a cute and cozy spot! Update: we went back last night, and they had a special going on with a spinach artichoke flatbread with chicken. It was *chef's kiss.* I hope this flatbread becomes a permanent item. We ended up buying two bottles of wine last night. This spot is a staple!
google avatar

Yelp
Vin Master is fantastic! It's small but in a very cute intimate way. The staff were all very kind and the selection of drinks was fantastic. I got the Mediterranean spread and it was AMAZING. They have the toppings set up on the hummus and the combination is so light and fresh yet filling. (I wish I had a picture to show but I was too embarrassed to take one as I was on a first date haha) I cannot recommend this place enough, especially for a date. I will absolutely be returning and devouring that spread again!

Yelp
Lovely pit stop while exploring the Rail Trail on the Southend of Charlotte. Interestingly enough we stopped in on a Saturday while the farmers market was taking place outside. I loved the wide open space on both the inside and outside patio. The little aesthetic additions added to the ambiance of a real life train station. The wine selection had a bunch of great selection from different price point. I usually go for the heavy Reds, but there's a lot of variety. For the beer drinkers that's also an option. I walked out with around 7 bottles of wine and some sours from the beer selection. Great time chatting with the staff. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Vin master is so cute, it's small and cozy. Perfect spot for a date night or girls night! The seating is limited so you may have a tough time finding a place to sit. There's plenty of parking around Atherton Mill but if you can, I would advise you walk or light rail. The east/west station is right nearby. They have food, although I haven't tried it. The cheese board looked good though. This place is better if you eat before or have a dinner reservation elsewhere and want to grab a drink close by.

Yelp
This wine bar is in the perfect location in the heart of south end. They have outdoor and indoor seating, we sat outside under the lights on the rail trail and it was lovely. The wine menu isn't too extensive for a wine bar, but had a German Riesling which was great! The food menu includes a charcuterie board and a couple flatbread options. It's decently priced - 2 glasses of wine for $31 w/ tip. Service was fine! If driving I recommend parking at the Atherton parking garage off South Blvd. Will definitely be back!

Ashley M.

Yelp
My favorite wine place in Charlotte! The staff is so nice, food is amazing, extensive wine selection, great atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Always had drink deals- I think Wednesday is half off glasses of wine. The goat cheese flatbread is amazing! Highly recommend this for a casual wine night. You can also sit outside!

Yelp
Wonderful people watching venue. Spent a glorious Saturday afternoon sipping sparkling wine and watching the world try hula hoop or playing guess the dog breed. Very friendly staff, nice little cheese plate too when we felt pecking. Overall, great place, reasonably priced.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Southend. Grab a bottle of wine and chill out. This place is not crowded and is all about finding well priced good wine to enjoy with friends. I liked the selection of wines, rather than relying on the well-known staples, this place has a variety of more eclectic choices. It makes discovering a new everyday wine or dinner wine more fun. On some nights they have live music too.
google avatar

Saniqua P.

Yelp
Vin Master is an absolute gem for winos near and far. If you're looking for a chill spot to enjoy a glass of wine anytime, Vin Master is the place. It's a small space that's tucked in the back corner of Atherton Mill. There is also small patio area in front. Once you walk in, you are met with a few bar tables, various wine/alcohol decorations, and a bar in the back. They have daily specials, on Fridays, it's $5 glasses of pinot noir or pinot grigio. Lined on the walls, they have bottles broken down by flavor profile such as juicy, creamy, smoky, etc. That alone makes me want to go back to make sure I try at least one bottle of each! I went on a recent Friday night a little after 8 p.m. and it wasn't crowded. It was the perfect spot for a nightcap. There was light music playing in the background but nothing obnoxious so as you couldn't hear the people at your table. I loved the ambience and will be sure to return!

Yelp
I visited this wine bar as part of my trip to Charlotte with my girlfriends. LOVED it. The service was wonderful. I appreciate her kindness and patient with me as a novice wine drinker. This location was fun and if I was on the dating scene this would be a go-to venue. It is grown sexy and very modern with a beautiful mix of an old Italian winery feel. We had several flights of wine with great sandwiches. This is a short review because my fellow Yelpers mentioned the centralized location, the convenient street parking, the inside and outside seating options, the great selection of wine and eats, the discounts for purchasing case lots and the happy hour specials. Come and enjoy this funky, fresh, clean and wonderful wine spot. Support the local owner and promote her efforts to offer foodie worthy options for snacks. You will enjoy everything.

Yelp
This place is perfect. Incredibly friendly bartenders (Amy, you're the best!), huge wine pours, affordable prices, and adorable atmosphere both inside and outside on the patio. I'm sold!

Yelp
We popped in for a quick drink on our way back from downtown and were grateful for the break from the sweaty Charlotte heat. They had a selection of wines (probably 6 reds, 6 whites, and 3 rosé options) available, and a limited food menu. I got a white--they only had one that was sweet, which was a bummer, but it was nice enough--and split a pizza with a friend. The kitchen was accommodating--we asked for prosciutto only on half and there were no complaints from our waiter--and the pizza was tasty. There was ample space, both indoors and outdoors, and service was quick. I'd come back, if I was in town!
google avatar

Ellie Q.

Yelp
Cute place to hang out at. They don't have a big selection of wines, so it's not a place where I would go to try something new. For that reason, I'm giving it a 4-star. Other than that, the pizzas/flatbreads are decent, and service is good.

Donatello G.

Yelp
I love this wine tasting establishment! They have a great selection of high quality wine. The service here is also unbeatable!

Yelp
Vin Master is such a hidden gem. Tucked away in Atherton Mill is the most fabulous wine place with a low-key vibe and half price glasses on Wednesday. I love Vin Master because they have a great selection of wines. I am a fan of reds, and I appreciate when the staff can make good recommendations based on my interests. The relaxed atmosphere is what I really love about this place. You can grab a table and hang out with friends. There are also some food options and coolers with more grocery-like items in case you need to grab something on your way out. Parking -- excellent parking options with the entire Atherton parking lot for your use Staff -- friendly and knowledgeable Patio -- they also have patio seating Vin Master also does their mega wine tasting one Thursday per month. It's $15 for 25 wines. I'm going to make that my next Vin Master adventure!
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Charlotte. Bottle prices and wine by the glass is very reasonable and there is always a great selection. If you haven't done the 20 wines for $20 wine tasting, stop by for the mega tasting event. I've done it twice and have left with at least 3 bottles to take home. Stop by on a Wednesday for 1/2 off glasses or Thursday for $10 flights. It's great for date night, girls night or larger outings. We hosted a college alumni event there with about 15 people. For non-beer drinkers, they also have beer! When it's nice out, enjoy some wine on their outdoor patio.
google avatar

Yelp
Half-price wine Wednesday!! You just can't beat that. Quaint with and awesome ambiance and vibe. All brick inside which is cool. The wine tasting going on was only $5 and featured 3 French wines. $5! Prices like these are unheard of in my hometown (Miami). Why not 5 stars? There no food! Good Wine has to be paired with something to munch on to temper the alcohol and cleanse the palate for each sip. A few options would add greatly and make this little wine bar/store near perfect.
google avatar

Lameka S.

Yelp
This place is definitely a hidden gem. Oh my gosh it is so cute and dainty. I just loved the atmosphere. I would without a doubt will be revisiting. I was attending a baby shower so I didn't order food, but I had some of their best mimosas. I had the strawberry basil and and the peach, and they had fruit to pair with it. I absolutely enjoyed the drinks and this place. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Divya S.

Yelp
Cute spot for a date night! Did not order food while we were here but instead popped in for a glass of wine. Service was wonderful, we sat at the bar and the bartender helped us pick out a perfect glass of wine! We noticed some other couples ordered food and their portions were large and the food looked delicious. Hope to be back soon!
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Love this spot for a nice glass of wine after a long day! They stock a wide variety of wines for purchase and I highly recommend visiting during their monthly tasting event - $10 for about 20-25 samples of wine from their different distributors. Great deal and you can choose to buy the wines. Added bonus, if you buy a certain amount (I think it's 5) you get a nice discount! So it's not only a great way to find your next go-to wine, but also a nice event to stock up the wine rack! They also have a nice fridge full of treats and snacks in case you need your cheese and cracker fix with your glass of deliciousness.
google avatar

Caroline W.

Yelp
I am so glad this place is back and running again after the remodel! I love to take my parents here (plus they love to come on their own) awesome chill vibes with great wines and beer in south end! Highly recommend also pup friendly outside as well! Woof woof

Yelp
The first thing you're probably wondering is why a beer drinker was at a wine bar. Well, some of my good friends are wine drinkers and Vin Master was kind enough to let us bring in takeout food to eat with our wine. Thanks for doing that!! As noted by other Yelpers, VM is tucked away in the Atherton Mills area, right behind Luna's Living Kitchen. The entry makes it look small, but once you're inside, the looks were certainly deceiving. It opens right up into hip "loft like" lounge with a SoHo feel. Great atmosphere with several seating sections and tables where groups can gather. Combine that with some wonderful live acoustic music playing some jazz standards. As it was a broiling 99 degrees outside, red sounded too heavy. Each of us described to Chris what we were looking for, and he did a great job of pairing us up with some incredible wines. I had a sweet, crisp German Riesling and my wife, a dryer, more subtle California Riesling. Both were excellent. Yes, they were a bit pricey, but we were treating ourselves. Expect to pay $8-$9 per glass. Would definitely come back for a tasting! Just don't tell my beer drinking friends...

Yelp
Saturday, I plan on making my first trip to Atherton Market to check out the Spring arrivals. I know it's been open all Winter, but it has fallen off my radar. So I get it in my head, it's time to get to Atherton. I am meeting a friend, I didn't want to blow my wad and go in before her arrival. When she arrives, I'm like, "let's go see what Vin Master Wine Shop is." One bottle of Prosecco later, 30 minutes after the closing of Atherton Market, we decide Vin Master is a great spot to have a glass of wine. There aren't many places in Charlotte that you can drink wine at retail prices, I happen to love this! Wine tastes even better when it's not marked up four times. Vin Master is an exposed brick wall, open floor plan with plenty of good light. A little wine store with a few couches and a table for the campers! A great venue, some outdoor seating would knock it out of the park,( just like Darrell Strawberry). I hate sports, I can't believe, I even made a sports reference. Drink up people. Cheers.

Yelp
Vin Master is such an awesome wine shop tucked away near Atherton Mill behind Luna's Living Kitchen on the backside near the lightrail. My husband and I have been to Vin Master many times but recently came for their monthly Mega Tasting, which is the third Thursday of each month. The tasting was amazing! $15 to sample tons of wines from about 6 different distributors. They also provided a charcuterie board for some light snacking through out. I loved getting to hear about wineries that I would have not normally had the opportunity to experience. The layout is nice with ample seating and a big wrap around bar. There are bottles throughout for purchase. Additionally, you can purchase wine by the glasses. Seems like there is always specials running as well. I noticed recently they added in some food options (cheeses, meats, dips, etc). Everyone that works here is really knowledgeable and can assist in wine selection (but not in a wine snob like of way). Vin Master continues to be a date outing staple in our household and you will definitely see us at next months Mega Tasting!

Yelp
I recently found this gem in South End. I'm always looking for wine that isn't sold everywhere, and this is the place to go. Rochelle is incredibly knowledgable and always has a great recommendation for whatever I'm looking for. The environment is always welcoming and every time I go I learn a little more about wine. If you haven't been to their tastings on Thursday nights, it's a must-see. Both Rochelle and John are incredibly warm to everyone who comes in. This isn't a typical "bar", but a great place to come and relax for a glass or several bottles to bring home.

Yelp
What's not to like? Cozy, intimate, wide selection, reasonable prices, and never snobby. Easy parking and quick access back to your commute makes this a better stop than Harris Teeter or Publix for an unique bottle to enjoy with someone special. If the market is open next door, grab a wedge of local cheese to keep the vibe going.
google avatar

Faith D.

Yelp
Looking for a low-key, yet awesome place to take out-of-towners? Or need that last item to fill a gift basket or stocking? Vin Master is your stop! I brought my friends and husband here last night and had an impromptu profile tasting. It was great fun! In addition, Chris, the owner, is so knowledgeable about all of the wines...where they come from, the different types, etc. Getting an education can't get anymore fun than this! He now offers cheese plates! Also, if you need a venue to host a party, check out Vin Master to see if it will fit the bill...my party of 4 loved our time spent there last night and left with a nice sized case of wines to show for it!
google avatar

Liana C.

Yelp
I used to go to this place when they served food and it was wonderful but the most recent time I went was a very different experience. I didn't feel welcomed at all when I went in and the lady wasn't very polite. She also never checked up on us the whole time we were there. Wine is good of course, just not the service. I would recommend other places in South End.
google avatar

Yelp
It's friday night and I don't feel like going into a loud situation. Dexter and I headed over to the Vin Master Wine shop for tasting. I had the flight of 3 red wines and actually found something I liked. Which since I am a clueless wine person, is pretty impressive. Chris and crew are very friendly and were able to make some choices that I actually like. Wine can have so many different flavors intermingling I agree that I need help find thing wine that I really like to drink and not just play russian roulette at the local Harris Teeters. It was just nice to sit chill with Dexter (who was a model citizen) and have a higher level of conversation about things. If I was looking for a bottle of something I will be coming back here for help to find it. This place is dog friendly in and outside of the store.

Yelp
I was told it was National Wine Day yesterday (like we need a reason to drink wine to begin with). My coworker and I wanted to get wine after work only to find out my normal go-to for Wednesday half price wine by the glass place was closed for private event. Last minute I came across Vin Master - which has half price by the glass on Wednesdays! Never been, and it is tucked away behind the building along the lightrail track. So park by Luna's/Farmer's Market/gym and walk around to the back if you are paying a visit. Limited outdoor seating - bummer, as weather was nice. We ended up just hanging out inside. Good space, actually can carry on a conversation as it was not packed and crowded and without loud music. They offered a surprisingly good number of choices for wine by the glass. There were bubbly, sweet whites, dry whites, and 5 reds of different varietals. They ranged from $7 to $10 a glass (normal price), which made this a very economical wine night! Of course there is the lack of food issue since this is not a food establishment. They only have cheese plate (we didn't order). But I believe they allow outside food to be brought in. I definitely will come back for more wine!

Yelp
Great wine choices. I've gone with friends many times. It's always a pleasant experience and the wine is great! Very knowledgeable.

Yelp
This is a cozy little wine bar in South End, tucked slightly out of the way near the light rail line. It's a long, narrow spot that was a bit industrial, but it had its own charm. My wife and I stopped in here after dinner on a Saturday night. I tried a pinot noir and she had a grenache. Both were tasty, if a little pricey, but we enjoyed them nonetheless. The pinot I ordered was the last of the bottle and there was none left, so the owner just gave me the little bit left gratis which was nice. We had a very pleasant time. The only detractor was the layout; all the seating was pushed very close together and there was no separation. Also, I think everything in the place was from Ikea. Not really a big issue, just something I noticed. More seating separation and maybe some fake plants or screens used as dividers would do this place wonders. We'll be back!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Awesome!!!!! Place with unique wines, ciders and beers! Yeah that's right I said beer at a wine shop if you get a chance you should try a beer from Grimm brewery, can't believe they even had it. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Oh and not to mention they also sell local grocery and pantry items. One cool place in South End! Thanks VinMaster for a great time!, I'll be back
google avatar

Yelp
Tucked behind Zucca and located across the parking lot from Atherton, this killer wineshop/bar/hangout made for a great stop on a Friday evening. Plenty of seating inside, and we're talking the funky, IKEA-style seating. Comfy couches, lounge chairs, and bar stools. The wine is stacked high on the right wall in funky wine racks. Take your pick. I love how they split up the varieties. As an individual who doesn't know a lot about wine, or pretend to know a lot about wine, I appreciate the simple approach. Listed above each area, you'll see "Creamy," "Tart," "Bright," and other descriptors. It makes it more interesting for someone like me. I don't even know where to begin when wines are listed under their country of origin. Vin Master is doing it right. We picked up a fun-looking bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. I haven't really moved past whites just yet. I still need a bright, semi-sweet wine to actually say I "enjoy" it. Next time, especially if the weather is nice, we'll be hanging out here al fresco. Great patio on the tracks and a killer, quiet space to enjoy a glass or three. Cheers!

Yelp
I wasn't blown away by Vin Master . We walked in on a Saturday afternoon as they were cleaning up from a pet adoption drive (love that they do this) . Inside was fairly quiet, just the two of us and one other person other than the lady running the shop. The shop itself is very cool - they organize by flavor profiles similar to the old Press uptown .Inside the shop is the old scale which is great that they preserved a bit of the mill-history. They have lots of comfortable seating which is also a plus (outdoor too). We looked around for a few minutes but weren't greeted for some time. We contemplated splitting a bottle only to see a $10 corkage fee- which I find to be a bit ridiculous if you purchase wine on site. We noticed most of the glasses were in the $10 range so we decided to just go elsewhere as for two of us to have two glasses would run $40, a bit steeper than we were looking for. I would consider checking them out again though maybe for a special night out or when were looking to indulge a bit more. ----------Update------------------------- I received a message from Chris the owner explaining the $10 cork fee. Unfortunately, we didn't know at the time but it's good to know for next time! Hi Shauna, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. The I e thing I need to explain is that the $10 corkage fee is only for the Friday night when we bring in a DJ. That goes directly to him. Unfortunately, the board did not get updated by the time you came in. So other than the 2nd Friday, we never have a corkage fee. I hope you give us a chance to give you a better experience soon, Chris

Yelp
It's a fantastic little wine shop! Went here for a CMYE though I'm not much of a wine drinker. All the wines here are made with organic sustainable farming methods for those who are environmentally conscious. Located in the Atherton Market there is plenty of parking, but the Vin Master was quite hard to find. It is seriously tucked away in the back and hidden behind a pizza place. Thank god for the signs confirming it's there and gps or I would have never found the place! The shop itself is much bigger than the outside looks. Exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and pleasant lighting give it a nice laid back feel. There's a couple chairs and tables and some people were enjoying a glass of wine when I came in. That's a nice touch being able to try some wines out before you buy them. The owner Chris is ridiculously nice and friendly guy who is a certified sommelier and will help you pick out a wine that's right for you. Definitely check out this wine shop if you haven't before. You'll probably be pleased with your experience and happy with your wine choice.

Yelp
I come from a region in Europe with a good dozen wineries in every town where all tastings are free and premier wines are cheaper than a supermarket bottle in the US and a glass out at a wine place only cost me about three bucks. So --- I've been wary of wine here, of not so great North Carolina wines, overpriced imported wines from wineries catering only to export business with flashy labels, etc. Vin Master is the first place I found that made me pretty happy about what I found. He still does get his wines through a chain of distributors and buyers, but I suppose you can't expect much more around here if you're on a budget of about 12 to 30 dollars a bottle. Prices are about the same as or one to two dollars above prices quoted in Wine Enthusiast magazine, so fair enough. We recently went to one of the Mega Tastings, where you try ca. 25 wines and excellent snacks of good cheeses and meats for 15 dollars. (Hint: bring a designated driver. Really. 25 wines are a lot, even if you only get splashes of each.) If you buy a half case, they discount you the 15 dollars you paid for the tasting (which I appreciate since it brings the business model a little closer to the free tasting culture in Europe). These happen once a month, entirely free smaller tasting happen every Thursday. As for the type of wines you find here - I think most people can find something here they will like. There are some yuppie wines with happy colorful labels that taste funny and sparkle, but mostly there are some very solid blends and pure wines in a reasonable price range.

Yelp
Hooray for a wine shop in South End! Vin Master is such a convenient stop - right across from Atherton Market. Grab some delicious dips, some fresh veggies, perfect fish and talk to Chris (owner of Vin Master) about the best bottle to accompany your meal. Perfecto. This particular wine shop is so special as Chris is everything but pretentious. He's laid back, helpful, friendly and genuinely wants to make sure your happy with your vino. He also offers free tastings on Wednesdays, $6 flights (of 2 wines) and a really unique flavor profile system that I just can't wait to get the results! This flavor profile will help him to steer me in a delicious direction for wines that please my palate. With wines of all price points and flavors, so I'm sure the folks here can help you find what you're seeking. Stop in Vin Master, take in the simple and lovely surrounding and sip on a tasty glass, inside or outside. Cheers!

Yelp
Normally this is my favorite place to go with my friends and we have a lot of events here & socialize here. Last night this was not so. I was there with a colleague & best friend to send off for her dream job in NY. The new owner is EXTREMELY rude. We ordered several bottles so that we could take them home but did partake in 3 with a party of 5. We ordered a large cheese & meat tray as well. Our server Jessica was AMAZING & we truly are sad that she has to work at such an unprofessional establishment. They turned away customers that we walked in 15mins before they closed & were EXTREMELY rude to them. Jessica's shift was over so the new owner had to service us & we wanted the food & wine boxed up to take with us & she was EXTREMELY rude & we just let it go but when we went to leave we asked if we could use the restroom & her boyfriend told us "Come on & hurry up and get the fuck out". We then, shocked, said "excuse me?" He then went on mumbling under his breath & slammed the door on us. We tried to speak to the owner to see what she wanted to do with the glasses we had & he came out extremely combative where she was holding him back from 5 women. She then was rude & told us "I corked your shit so get the fuck out. You can leave". None of our things were packaged or "corked" so we went to tell her & that is when her boyfriend became violent & grabbed my friend by the arm & threw her against the wall & called the police saying that we attacked him. We took pictures of the assault & were gathering our things to leave & he continued to scream & try to attack us. We had to defend ourselves JUST to get our personal belongings (purses etc). I will NEVER return there because it is NOT ok to be that rude & to assault your customers. The new owners have tarnished this loved place & none of my friends & associates will ever return.

Yelp
I am so disappointed. I used to walk dogs to this wine bar daily and buy cases of wine. when Chris and Dee were there. New owners are terrible! They were extremely rude, worst service and experience ever. We will never go back!!

Yelp
This little spot has my heart. Great selection of vino, good snacks to go with and I love the ambiance. We usually create our own charcuterie board and start with our favorite bottle followed by some of Chris's suggestions. Chris is the owner; he is a super nice guy that will be happy to make suggestions based on your taste and price range. I recently celebrated my friend's birthday with a small get together at Vin Master. It was a major success. They are so helpful and lay back at the same time. They allowed me to bring all kind of things, decor, deserts and even flowers. We made my friend's birthday a fabulous affair. I love the ambiance at this place. You can either sit inside on a rainy cold day or enjoy good weather outside. If you have not been there, stop by. You won't regret it. Love, Love Vin Master
