Vin Sur Vingt Wine Bar - East Village

Such a beautiful wine bar with an amazing atmosphere. The bartender gave excellent recommendations, and we had the most delightful wine. I’ll definitely come back—this place is a gem!

We hosted a private event here for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and fun! Karim and Raphael were the best and all our guests loved them. Carlie, the event manager, was soo helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. Everyone loved the food, wine and space. Definitely recommend!

Perfect date night bar with cute moody lighting. Wines taste great and happy hour is until 6pm! Food is a little pricey but definitely save room for at least one cheese because they are a TREAT

I really like that this place has happy hour deals during the weekend. It’s a great spot for a glass of wine and snack while people watching. Their light fare is served charcuterie style and generously portioned. They also served bread but it was pretty dry.

Very cozy, cute wine bar with multiple locations! Love the $10 happy hour wine till 7pm. The tomato tartine was nice and fresh. Really enjoyed the beef braised stew it was very filling! Nice spot for a quick bite with a friend or date!

I ordered bone marrow, duck confit and crème brûlée. I accepted suggestions for wine pairings from Jimmy. And literally everything was perfect. Even the music!! It was wonderful.

The service was good. The wine selection is better than most places. BUT the wine is expensive and the btg pours are miniscule. Too bad really. If margins are that tight, close. I get the economics but being cheap in what you deliver is really short sighted, especially when you're marking up bottles 3-4x from retail.

My partner and I came here for his birthday without a reservation and were very pleasantly surprised with how everything turned out! The restaurant was lively but in a way only wine bars should be, not overly loud but still bustling (in a good way). We were ordered the Pâté Porc, Canard et Figue (served with Pickles), Escargots, Ratatouille (Provencal Vegetable Stew), and the Tartine Brie, along with a bottle of wine. The mustard with the pork and duck pâté was incredible and we loved how much Brie and honey came with that dish. Wonderful experience and I'd love to come here again! Our waiter was kind enough to ask how we would like everything timed to come out which I appreciated and we never felt rushed.

It's a cute place but I don't love their wine selection and the food is WAY overpriced. Also, we went in on a Sunday afternoon when virtually no one was there and the service wasn't great. Took almost 20 min for someone to take our order.

Let's start with the highlights. Vin Sur Vingt has excellent service and the ambiance is absolutely adorable. Low lit wine bar that has a romantic feel to it, great for date night. When we went, it was not crowded at all. All that said, I imagine on a night where it does get crowded it gets very loud. The tables are right against each other so this is just a heads up if you come with a group. They have decent wine deals and the food is cute/tasty but pricey. Expect to spend starting at $16 for a small bite (as you can see from the photos I posted with this review). It was delicious, but the portions are small for the amount of food you get. Overall, excellent and I would come back. They have many locations around the city and whoever is working can recommend different wines to you and will allow you to taste test wines before fully committing.

Nice ambiance. Good wine. Fair French Onion soup but not memorable. Decent Escargot. Three star due to other reasons that don't want to call out the restaurant.

What a great French wine selection! This is the perfect wine bar to try some Bordeaux wines, have some excellent cheeses and French onion soup and overall feel a bit of French culture in the East village.

I had dinner with two friends. We sat outside. Everything was really excellent. We started with the endive salad, a special roasted and raw shredded Brussels sprout salad, and duck liver pate. The salads were fresh and delicious, especially the Brussels sprouts salad. Pate was silky and tasty. A bread basket with three different kinds of bread was provided and refilled. After appetizers, one of us had a French onion soup that he really enjoyed. The other two shared a boeuf bourguignon that was probably the best I ever tasted. It came in a small cast iron enameled pot with a smooth and creamy pommes puree (mashed potatoes) on the side. We had three desserts that were all fantastic: tarte tatin with perfectly caramelized apples, served with ice cream: a really delicious chocolate mousse; and the best ille flottante I've ever had: the meringue actually had texture and was interesting, which I'd never seen before Our waiter provided absolutely perfect and friendly service. We were very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and definitely plan to go back soon. It would also be a perfect place for a romantic date, and one of us suggested he would take his girlfriend there next Valentine's Day.

We were looking for a quieter bar when we found this cute place after dinner and absolutely loved it! This is a small place with service that was a little slow for our liking but definitely yummy wine that everyone was satisfied with by the end of the night. I got a red wine here and absolutely loved it even though I can't remember the name of it. Definitely a nice spot for a date night or a night with some friends. Ample space and comfy seating with a cute cozy interior!

Like every location, always a good time. Enjoyed a nice glass of beaujolais (vin sur vingt bottle) and a glass of sparkling rose. Shoutout to our server Gustavo for being attentive and sweet!

7-9pm happy hour for a $10 glass on a week day, the place was barely filled with couples, and one excellent waiter who greeted me with a smile. Dining alone, this place was perfect for a wine and literary journal night. They're known for their wine selection and the waiter is happy to walk you through the options and be attentive to your needs

We went here for drinks on a work trip. While going over my receipts/statements afterwards, I noticed that this place charged an extra 52 cents on my final SIGNED bill (after tips). 52 cents is obviously not much, and would not raise any alarms (unless you had pictures of your receipt, like I did, as I was on a work trip). However, this highlights some sketchy practices (plus, 50 cents per table, for all tables, could add up), and I would recommend potential customers to stay away from such a dishonest business.

One of the most fun bars in the area. It seemed liked all the waitstaff was from France and had a deep knowledge of the wine they were selling. Great ambiance and a ton of fun...worth a pop in for sure

Stopped by the wine bar on the way to a friends birthday. They have happy hour from 4-7 pm everyday for $10 glasses of selected wines. I got the rosé and my friend got the white wine. The sommelier was from France and seemed very knowledgeable. We got multiple tastings of different types of wine.

Highly recommend! Came here tonight to celebrate a friends birthday with some casual drinks and apps. Kir royale was perfectly poured! Wine selection was excellent and our server gave great advice on which wines would be best suited for each of our tastes. Cheese and charcuterie board was a little heavy on the charcuterie ratio but everything was delicious. Ambiance was chill, service was excellent. Will definitely come back the next time I want to hang out with friends and catch up over some good wine.

There are so many amazing wine bars in This city and this is not one of them. We were greeted by a host that was friendly but bordered on ridiculing us as he mimicked our taking off sunglasses while walking and shaking your bum. My friend was greeted as "go México". Why? The menu is limited and very expensive. Bottle prices are inflated even by New York standards. The charcuterrrie plate at $60 was the most expensive we ve ever had and far from the best. As places around the city add fruits and nuts, dried fruit, spices, different presentations to their charcuterie board. Here was pretty straight forward and classic, the portions of 3 cheeses - Brie, hard cheese and a goat were quite small and the cheeses delicious but nothing exciting. Little gerkins were the best part. We couldn't get our water refilled, we didn't get any attention as the place filled up and there were only 2 servers, one of whom preferred flirting to doing his actual job. We paid over $40 for one glass and shared charcuterie and left to find some real food and more affordable drinks. Only one champagne on the menu at 30 per glass and $150 per bottle. With the summer coming. They better add more bubbles and more affordable options to the menu!!!

This review is for the East Village location. We had recently had gone to the Nomad location and had a wonderful experience. Here in East Village it was great as well, we just did not explore as much of the menu as we had in Nomad. We walked in late on a Saturday night, and luckily got the only empty table, the place was busy inside and out. It was a small space, and coolly dark, with dark but soft woods, and distressed antiqued mirrors on the walls which I liked. We only had dessert: the tarte tatin, and the chocolate cake, both of which were ok. We had a nice bottle of Alsace pinot noir and a white which unfortunately I don't remember. Nice vibe, and server was fine, kept our bottles chilled till we were ready for more. To give a fairer shot would like to come back and try more of the menu.

I usually go here with my boyfriend and we LOVE the place. The bartender is so knowledgeable and you can tell that he's very passionate about the wines, etc. It's very inspiring and he's taught me a lot. I love that the bartender is French as well, it really gives the true authentic French vibe. I definitely recommend going here if you want a real French experience!

What a great find!!! We are visiting NYC from Las Vegas and had a couple of hours before our dinner reservation. We luckily stumbled on this place. Gustavo waited on us and steered us in the right direction. We had great French wines and great service. He also paired our wines with three different cheeses. Such a fun experience.

Another great place by Vin sur Vingt. Beautiful Pauillac, professional and nice service.... But we want our Croques & cassolettes back :(

No issues at all with the food, wine or service as all were very good. In fact, I want to highlight how terrific the service was even though we could clearly see that the restaurant was understaffed (appeared that there was only the one server working a very crowded restaurant). So extra kudos to the overworked server for ensuring we had a good dining experience.

We came to this bar last night with a group of friends and we had so much fun we ended up talking 5 bottles of wine! Which i think means a lot. The wine is the best we have had in any wine bar and the french waiter I think his name Ishen he was very attentive to us​ and os pleasant and professional. We Will definitly be black to this location to have another great night ! And i Will recomend it to the rest of my friends.

What a lovely French wine bar. The service was excellent, the waiter was actually French, and he was extremely professional- kept an eye on us but let us linger over our rosé. We enjoyed the olive tapenade along with the rosé at happy hour and will definitely be returning.

I'm a local and always wanted to come in and I'm glad I came. Hugo Castro really sold this place to me. Amazing service, increasingly personality and the man run an amazing one man show. Knowledgeable of wine too! I will be coming back

The hostess accused of me sneaking in food. I had simply entered for a post dinner glass of wine. Horrible service and was rude the entire time.

Awesome wine selection and delicious food. Really cute patio area and the inside has great ambiance as well. Highly recommend!!! My go to spot when I want a drink after work. The Croque Provencal is delish!

Shout out to Victor. I will admit - my knowledge of wine is low. We came here to learn more and enjoy the cool French ambience at the East Village location. What made the experience truly special was our host Victor - who went above and beyond with individual recommendations. The story behind the wine are most interesting, and we appreciated the host taking the time to explain the regional wine differences in France. Great service, great venue, great location! We will be back.

Me and my friend went to the one near flatiron one before, the food and wine and service was impeccable there. Today we saw a new location in east village and we were happy thinking it'd be as good as the other one. The wine was good as usual. BUT I can't give the same to the service, the French guy server(bartender) was SO NASTY... we walked in and asked for a table, he looked like literally someone owed him a million dollars, or his just got dumped by his gf or what. The whole vibe of misery came from him..... the way he poured the wine( made so much mess on the table) and the miserable tone he talked. We felt so Unwelcome, he clearly didn't want to be here either. I came here to enjoy my glass of wine, and paid for my wine and 20% tips for the crappy service that he provided. Whole 40min of he showed up at the very last min. I immediately asked for the check cuz I wanted to get the heck out of here. Be aware of that miserable dude there , absolutely not coming back to this location as long as the dude is there.
