A seamless and very tasty pizza experience.
Having only heard about this place on YouTube, I finally took the plunge and decided to visit as I happened to be in the area for a pickup. As per the website recommendation, I pre-ordered as soon as the website opened at 6am and went for a 12inch fungi with onions and chillis coming to roughly £15. I put in the comment 'EAT IN' as advised so they knew not to box our pizza or make it in advance.
4:50pm arrives and we enter the restaurant after finding 1 hour free parking right outside! The interior vibes are incredible, feeling like you are transported to another universe with the red tiling, bare brick walls laden with pictures with the chefs working away behind the counter. When they saw us we were warmly greeted and we cited our pre-order which they immediately saw on their tickets and began to prepare our pizza. Myself and my dad aren't big eaters hence our option for one 12 inch but I do understand why the waiter asked if we wanted more! And we probably would have if it was made given how good the pizza was but I'll get to that.
Our pizza was prepared and ready for us in around 5 minutes, plated up and brought to our table which we had with a couple of diet cokes. The pizza looked and smelled delightful and we immediately tucked in. The char beneath the slices was perfect allowing a stable pick up of each slice, the level of toppings was well balanced with a good amount of sauce, cheese and veggies. The chillis we requested added a lovely kick and the mushrooms juicy. The sauce and cheese complimented each other perfectly and the dough was the start of the show! Super soft while holding it's structure and was very easy for my dad t oeat who sometimes struggles with pizzas that are too chewy so he was incredibly happy with this one.
Whilst the prices are of course pricey, you are paying for an artisinally produced product made with care and attention (the guys behind the counter were lovely!). I would much rather have one amazing pizza every other month than a dominos / supermarket / equivalent every week - we gotta reward those talented enough to make these delights!
If you haven't been and are thinkinbg about it, I would strongly recommend a visit to Vincenzos, you won't regret it.
