My family, friends, and I visited Vine Street Brewing one evening and had a wonderful time reconnecting over excellent brews. We tasted pretty much everything they had on tap and ended up taking a few selections home with us. The brewery itself is relaxed and spread over two floors with local artists displaying their works throughout the space. They definitely have a good thing going here - check it out!

Google
The main reason I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars and not five out of five is because for Brewery it doesn't have a lot of beer choices. Love the location, the building was extremely cool, and the vibe of the place was awesome. I just wish they had more choices. There's a really cool historic Castle across the street that you can go explore. The building itself is really cool and it looks like there might be a party space you can rent. And there's also fun art to look at. I would probably go back again but just for one beer. They also had games you could play while you were there. I think it's a really cool function for that building.

Google
Beautiful space, consistent rotation, and some of the best beers I have had in town. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Very close to the Jazz and Baseball museums - a go-to now when friends visit!

Google
Recently went to KC; stopped here on the recommendation of others. It was fantastic! Great beer; great ambiance in the repurposed building; great people! Tried several different styles and they were all good! Stop by if you’re in KC; you won’t be disappointed!

Google
Great options, super helpful staff. Has live music at times and games. Great place for a date night or to chat with friends. Appreciate the variety of brews as well!

Google
This was my first experience at Vine Street brewing and I must say it was excellent. Between my buddy and myself I think we tried 7 or 8 beers over a nice easy 4 hours. There was an event on the patio but it was huge and would be a great place to sit on most occasions. The coolest parts of the brewery are building and the art they use to decorate. I will definitely be back.

Google
Amazing place! Great beers, cool atmosphere, friendly staff. They have a dog friendly patio with benches, tables and umbrellas. Bars upstairs and downstairs. Comfy couches and board games. It’s a great find!

Google
I have been following this brewery since they plan to open this brewery, their membership for the brewery was awesome, if i live closer i would of joined, finally cross over Missouri to visit here, I known the way from Kc side but not around about way, I got lost, went the wrong way, but found it, went in on the wrong door, which was locked, but I got in, No Tv! But, many Breweries don’t have Tv, like Sandhills, the reason! If u with a quest, talk, which is nice, people do care that u communication, they have a downstairs with a bar and small tv behind the bar, bathroom is a mix , the staff is super cool, patio is super nice, if u haven’t been a must, the street that u turn on right, just before u get to museum

Yelp
This place is everywhere so finally made a long overdue visit on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of pints. The hype is not unfounded. It's a fun, cool place to hang out. The beers were mighty, the servers super friendly. And men can be men, as evidenced by a mom struggling to get her two young kids, a stroller and a giant toy to their table as dad followed behind holding his flight of beer. Looking forward to going back on a warmer day and checking out the beer garden.

Yelp
Girl Scout Cookies paired with beers, need I say more? A novelty idea for one day only at vine street brewery made me drop everything and come in- okay well it's not that hard to get me into vine street...it's such a vibe! (What a millennial thing to say, I know) But, it truly is. What makes Vine Street Brewery unique is all the fun local partnerships they have. As well as, the community feel that this brewery has, it becomes more than just a place to sip it's a place to gather. The cookie and beer pairing were as follows That Box Fade Bro and Lemonades Dubs and Adventurefuls Jazzman and Trefoils Obscura Fortuna and Caramel Delites My favorite paring was most definitely the That Box Fade Bro and Lemonades because the hazy IPA had notes of citrus that paired well with the buttery light shortbread cookies with the lemony iced bottom. Then came the Obscura Fortuna and caramel Delite duo because, honestly a caramel Delite can never do any wrong. This beer is a deep rich stout with coconut and dark malt flavors which were the perfect match for the crispy coconut packed caramel delite. Thirdly, came the cookie I was least familiar with, the Adventureful matched with the Dubs. This cookie is a dark chocolate exterior that's crunchy with a hint of creamy salted caramel and the Dubs beer is smooth higher abv Belgium dubbel. Last but not least, my all time favorite tried and true Girl Scout cookie- the trefoils which was paired with the Jazzman brew. This beer I'd like to think is an ode to the Jazz district of 18th and Vine as well as it shares a name with a Carol King song I love and enjoy...so maybe there's double meaning to it. The Jazzman is dark and a unique dark lager flavor profile which I guess pairs well with a neutral cookie like a classic shortbread.

Yelp
Vibes & drinks were on point! Afrodisiac (Chocolate/Coffee) Blonde and a night of jazz. This beer is very smooth, flavor balance well of chocolate and coffee.. Kadesh Flow, rapper, trombonist, and producer with a band of musicians on keyboard, drums, trumpet and bass in collaboration to bring not only sounds of jazz but hip-hop.

Yelp
A beautiful brewery with multi use spaces. Loved the new cocktail and service was good.

Yelp
Way past due, but my visit to Vine Street Brewing exceeded expectations. For any out of state and international visitors, this brewery is located in a historic, iconoclast Kansas City neighborhood. The brewery thoughtfully represents those roots and has created an amazing space to enjoy a good beer in the 18th and Vine district. The staff is very knowledgeable about the beers while being super attentive and conversational. They helped me narrow down which beers to order. My first beer was a Dark Lager, Jazzman (which I'd had before). This time was different and served via Lukr slow pour. This Czech pour style adds a soft, velvet mouthfeel to what's already a great tasting beer. My second beer was a crisp, hoppy American IPA with a milky white head. It was called Jerry Curl Drippin and it ended my visit on a high note.

Yelp
This is the first Black-owned brewery in MO and the 2nd Black-owned brewery I've ever been to. (the other is Métier Brewing Company in Seattle) If these two breweries are any indication we need a TON more breweries owned by non-white folks in this country! Both of these breweries had incredible, hoppy lager beers. Many breweries brew hoppy beers, many breweries brew lager beers, very few brew hoppy lager beers. The Cold IPA on tap here was the perfect medicine for the 98+ degree temperatures in Kansas City. It was so good I bought a 4-pack to take home. That might not mean much to you, but, as a home-brewer in love with his own beers, I rarely purchase beer at breweries. But the combo if being in a hotel away from home, and the absolute cold crispy hoppy refreshment of this lager caused me to change my mind. And I haven't even touched on the ambiance. This brewery looks like an old frontier castle. It's an ancient building built of big rocks that's been revitalized into a wonderful community space. A must-stop on your visit to Kansas City! PS: they have one of the best brewery logos I've ever seen!

Yelp
Fantastic drinks with a huge variety, awesome atmosphere and great live music! Stop by and appreciate it!

Yelp
So I accidentally traipsed across this spot looking for The Spot (now The Nook located in the main library downtown). It is a cool funky kind of place with a very chill and positive vibe. My son and I tried a few beers and they were very well crafted and highly unique in flavor profile. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Due to a leg injury, I could not make the trip down to the actual brewery, but my son did and he was impressed. I will update the review on my return trip which there definitely will be one, there are so many beers I have left to try.
google avatar

Yelp
Great space. The vibes and artwork really made me feel like I at home in the Nay area. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They were happy to let us sample beers before ordering.

Yelp
Went for a drink on a sunny, Friday afternoon. The staff were eager to recommend their favorites and we got a flight and a full glass of their sour. Their patio was open, despite it being February, which was lovely. Their sour was perhaps one of the best sour beers I've ever had! My husband drank a flight of beers and said his favorite was the Hood brew. The building was so unique, with exposed brick and old wall-art / graffiti. The space was shared with a restaurant that also looked like it had good offerings. This brewery would be a great hangout for groups big or small!
google avatar

Michele J.

Yelp
We visited the restaurant inside of this location more times than I can count. The food was always fresh and amazing. Unfortunately it moved out when the brewery moved in.
google avatar

Yelp
I have had this on my list of places to visit for a while now and finally got the chance to check it out. There is a large area upstairs and downstairs if you have an event. There is also a good size but the bar with seating. All of the beers I tried were well designed and had good flavoring. The building is such a cool place and I think it's cool that they left some of the graffiti on the interior walls. It actually ties into the building itself. I will definitely be back to check out more beers.

Yelp
We have been looking forward to trying Vine Street Brewing since it opened. This is the first Black owned brewery in Kansas City. It's located on Vine Street and shares a historic building with The Spot. Their decor ties in the history of the area and is vibrant creating a welcoming atmosphere. The beers we had were great and the service quick and friendly. There is lots of seating space inside upstairs and downstairs. They have a huge back patio with lots of extra seating area that will be great in the warmer months. The bathrooms here are gender neutral. They have the NICE period products, for free in the stalls. I appreciate the inclusivity and thought to spend a little extra on having nice plastic applicants and multiple sizes (light, regular and heavy) available for people. This is a must try in Kansas City.

Yelp
This place is historic, the building around and the building that brewed, use to be prison back in the days, vine street, has won many rewards, very popular to come in and have a beer to drink, the bartender very friendly and knowledgeable too, I'm a member of the brewery, this is a must to visit
google avatar

Raven S.

Yelp
Absolutely love Vine street brewing! Although I am not a huge beer drinker, they always have something great on rotation in the sour category. This time I tried the "life of the party". It had great tasting notes and was bursting with actual flavor. I sometimes get sours and they seem like an afterthought at breweries, but you can tell they put consideration into the flavor profiles here. The people are always so helpful and make great recommendations for what to order and the building itself has amazing artwork and such a fun vibe. I love visiting and I can't wait to bring all of my friends by to try it.

Yelp
Somebody mentioned hoppy lagers, so I dropped by. Yup! Fantastic location, building, service.!!!!
google avatar

Givon B.

Yelp
Talk about an amazing building!!! Vine Street Brewing is a hip hop inspired brewery located in the Jazz district, in what was once an abandoned building. They fixed it up, but it still has the character of the original stone building, graffiti and all. Now that is what you call a remix! Vine Street has a nice selection of easy to drink beers. Everything from cream ales, to Belgian beers, stouts, IPAs and even sours. Their fruit sour beer Life of the Party is always a go to drink whenever they have it on tap. If you need help picking a beer, their knowledgeable Beer Stars(bartenders) are there to help you find exactly what you want. Throughout the week you can expect a little something for everyone: Bingo, run clubs, live music, and even comedy shows. It's great for big groups. If you are looking for food options they usually have a good selection of food trucks Thursday-Sunday.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice . I think there was great choice of beers to choose from . The layout of the building was interesting. There were two levels of areas to sit and the outside patio was nice touch for when the weather is nice .

Yelp
We had the opportunity to check out Vine Street Brewing during their grand opening on Friday. One of my favorite beers was Life of the Party: Fruited Sour layered with blueberries, orange zest and lemon citrus flavor. This reminded me of old school sour before they started adding lactose to every damn thing. Perfect for a hot summer day. My other favorite was a surprise because I'm not a huge lager fan. But the Jazzman Black Lager was the perfect balance of smooth and refreshing. It was wayyyy too easy to drink. It was pretty busy so we didn't get to fully check out the space and the artwork but what I was able to see was awesome. Plus there's a castle across the street.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Went recently on the recommendation of others...it was fantastic! Great beer, great ambiance (love the repurposed building!) and great people! I don't get oKC often enough but will DEFINITELY make this a stop! Please go; you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
We have been following this business since the day they announced the start of their existence. Today we finally got to come and check it out. WOW! What an incredible building, friendly employees, and an creative decor/vibe. The Jazz Man and the Midnight Mississippi were my favorite beers on tap. I am so glad this finally opened and I look forward to many years of cold beers here!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! This newer brewery is the first black-owned brewery in Kansas City and they've done an amazing job with it! It's in an amazing old building across from the landmark Kansas City Workhouse, completely renovated and turned into multiple cool spaces to hang out. There's also a huge patio and stage, plus a little coffee/sandwich shop attached to grab some food. The beers are good and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to come back when it warms up some and catch some live music!
google avatar

Kyla B.

Yelp
Had a lovely afternoon here. Tons of space; upstairs and downstairs. Two bars to order from. I had their sour, Ameri-Kana, which was really good. I would go back for it. They have a good selection.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the time we spent here on a lazy Sunday. The beers are unique, fun and delicious. The space is huge and colorful. Beertender was chill and kind. Highly recommend a visit!

Yelp
Hello Vine Street Brewery, was enjoying a Saison when Anna, on her b'day invited me to join her, Mike and Pete, after a while Annie joined us and we all had a night cap and something to eat at El Pueblito, anyway, back in LA at Dodgers Stadium and it's Rachel Robinson's 102nd today so thought I'd share. Besides being very cool, the Saison was one of, maybe the best I've tasted. Atmosphere friendly and relaxed, the place is just cool all the way around, really want to thank VSB for making my work trip a BLAST, see you next time, Cheers

Yelp
This was our first time at Vine Street Brewing and we had a great time! I had a sour and really enjoyed the flavors. The space is very bright and has great art. I would like to go back and explore the area downstairs. I highly recommend to all beer lovers as well anyone who wants to try and new local business.
google avatar

Bobby N.

Yelp
Amazing selection of beers. Staff were friendly and engaging. They explained the beers and flavor profiles. Amazing location on Vine. The old water department building creates an amazingly quirky ambiance. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Vine Street has been on my list of places to check out since before they opened, so I was super excited to finally have the opportunity to go this weekend. I was surprised how many people were there early afternoon, but there is a downstairs area (that's huge) that is great for big parties and overflow. It was freezing down there, so I was happy I had a coat, because I had to use it as a blanket while we were there. Upstairs and downstairs each have a bar and different beers available, so make sure you check out both. My favorite that I tried was the Vines on Vine IPA. I'm hoping that is a permanent staple because it's yummy. The bartenders were all super friendly and I enjoyed chatting with each of them. The outside patio is HUGE and I can't wait until it's warm to come back and enjoy it out there too. They even have some cans to go as well. This brewery is now on my top 5 list in KC, HIGHLY recommend checking it out!
google avatar

Netanya B.

Yelp
The beer was really good and stronger than more common beers. There was an event going on so we had sat at the far left bar upstairs. It was quite warm due to the sun shining straight through. It was a nice place to chill. Service was fast, not long lines. You order at the bar. There is also a self serve water area
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Checked out Vine Street Brewing and loved it! First, the building it is in is so cool! It is an old stone building and they have added a bunch of bright pops of color that look awesome. We got a small size of each beer they offered. Everything was good, but the sour and the stout were our favorites. They also have a great patio area that I'd love to take advantage of when the weather is cooler!
google avatar

Sari C.

Yelp
This is an excellent brewery in KC! Not only is this the first black-owned brewery in KC, but they partnered with black artists for the artwork and decor. The brewery is located inside a historic building off of Vine Street and they have a huge outside beer garden! They also have live music which is awesome. They have seating for small or big groups. We came here for an office HH and were able to enjoy the nice weather and sit large groups of people together. The staff is super nice and helpful when trying to figure out what you want to order. They also make an in house bubbly water, which I love! This is a must-try for all beer lovers and non-beer lovers as the space is so cool! They also have a bookshelf of games to enjoy while sipping on your drinks. 100% recommend!

Yelp
We stopped in here on a Friday evening. The place was popping and very busy. We went to the downstairs bar (I'm not sure most people know about it), so we were able to get our beers more quickly. I got the Life of the Party (sour) and later tried the Maris (pale ale). Both were good, but I enjoyed the Maris more. It was a little hard to find seating initially, but a server directed us to a couple of empty chairs once some other patrons left. The place is huge and there is tons of indoor and outdoor seating, but it has only been open for a little while and is clearly very popular. I'm not going to hold that against them, as I'm sure they'll add or figure out additional seating options in the future. There is a restaurant attached to the brewery and you can order food to bring back to the brewery. However, you cannot take your beers into the restaurant. The menu looks good, but it closes at 7. The service was fast and people were friendly. I can't wait to check out a show here sometime. It's exciting to finally have a black-owned brewery here in KC and I'll definitely be back to try out more beers.

Yelp
Vine Street Brewing has a chill atmosphere with a ton of space with bars upstairs and downstairs. The outdoor patio is huge with lots of seating areas and a spot for live music. The artwork is absolutely stunning! The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Had the privilege of enjoying a sneak peek into Vine Street before the official launch date.. Staff was attentive, welcoming, knowledgable, and charismatic. Beer really was smooth and refreshing. We had flights to start, and the Jazzman, Paper Bag Thin, and Snakes in the Wheat stood out. Place is clean, fresh, and hip. Spectacular addition to the 18th and Vine legacy and future.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited Vine Street Brewing Co. on the Tour de Bier charity ride organized by BikeWalkKC on September 18th, 2022. Great selection of home-crafted beers! These beers are unique and creative which include a cream ale, a Neapolitan stout, and Snakes In The Wheat beer. They have a nice sized drinking and dining room inside which was remodeled from the building which used to to be the street and water department administrative location of KC. The staff are great and will help you with the right selection of beer just for you. Check it out!
google avatar

Karie K.

Yelp
Amazing what they did here to take an old building and revive it as the hottest brewery in town!
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We were excited to check out KC's first blacked owned brewery and we were not disappointed. It's a great addition to the historic jazz district and the building is quite unique. They have a bar both upstairs and downstairs with places to sit and play games and a fantastic outdoor space as well. I had the Paper Bag Thin Mexican lager, which is my favorite beer in a while and I also enjoyed the Snakes in the Wheat. My wife LOVED the Life of the Party sour. Very friendly service and it wasn't difficult to get a drink. Excited to go back soon.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Loved every beer, stouts to cream ales , service is amazing and helpful! Don't miss this brewery!!
google avatar

Trish K.

Yelp
This place was awesome! As anticipated as the brewery's opening was, it lived up to the hype. We went in the second day it opened and there was a line out the door before they opened. (Heads up they open at 3 pm). The beers were delish. I got the sour and it tasted like juice - in the best way! We sat outside where they have lots of picnic tables and a few little shade shelters. I looks like there's a stage for live music, so we'll definitely be back to check that out.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
Great beers. Friendly people. Amazing food next door at the spot. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Beers are on point.
google avatar

Jillian A.

Yelp
Visiting Vine Street Brewery is like stopping by at a friends house that always has the best beer. You should definitely try a flight so you can taste, and taste some more. My favorite so far is the Saison, but the jazzman and the sour are runner ups. I went with friends and played games and had beer. they also had a live band playing outside. I hear that they are showing the games on Sundays so make sure you are there.
google avatar

Jerry N.

Yelp
Excellent service As a retired Public Works employee, I personally enjoyed the repurposed Street Department building that Vine Street Brewing was in.
google avatar

Marc P.

Yelp
The beer here is amazing. As is the vibe. I'm so glad locals recommended coming here after a long day!

Amy S.

Yelp
Service and Ambiance was spot on! We enjoyed our beers and the wonderful service and conversation had while we were there. We will definitely be back! Very friendly atmosphere and great outdoor space!

Colin C.

Yelp
10/10 no notes. Everyone is fantastic, the vibe is impeccable, and the beer absolutely rips. Super knowledgeable staff to boot.

Yelp
Amazing new brewery and first Black-owned brewery in KC. Great service, beers and ambiance were on point. Will be back!

Mike C.

Yelp
Really cool building with multiple rooms to sit and patio looks awesome. I loved the Mexican lager and tried a really good IPA

Haley S.

Yelp
Came here for the first time this week and had such a lovely time. It wasn't super packed on a weekday night so I can't speak for the weekends. The staff were SO kind and seemed happy to work there. I really like the vibe of the whole place, it is so different from every other brewery I've been to. We sat at the bottom level and it felt like a chill club with fun moody lighting and good house music playing. I just really appreciate a space that goes against the grain of the "usual" beer culture. We will definitely be back and I will have to check out the restaurant space that is next door to the brewery.

Vita C.

Yelp
Came for bingo night. Nice ambiance, great artwork and I enjoyed the strawberry lime brew!
