Vineria Modì

"Situated in the historic centre of Taormina, this restaurant started out as a wine-bar which explains its name as well as the extensive wine list featuring over 1 000 different labels. Today, the wine accompanies fine cuisine prepared by a skilful female chef, whose brother oversees the front of house. Creative and elaborate dishes with a Sicilian flavour (as well as influences from elsewhere) are served in an elegant dining room and in an attractive outdoor space on the pedestrianised street." - Michelin Inspector

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, especially the cute outdoor seating. The food is delicious, and I only wish we had been hungrier so that we could have tried the eight-course meal. The ravioli was delightful, but the lamb truly stole the show; it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. They offer an extensive wine list, so you're sure to find something that pairs well with your meal, or you can ask for recommendations. The sommelier is friendly and attentive, just like the rest of the staff. Be sure to make reservations in advance! Congratulations to the team for their 🌟. Bravo!

The experience was incredible - the restaurant is very high end but not pretentious. The food is amazing, we tried the 6 course menu, although you get a lot more courses than that with all the compliments! Every dish was prepared so well and presented in details. The staff were outstanding in their service and their treatment, they were helpful, very friendly and they took care of every single detail! The sommelier was also impressive and the wine he suggested was so good that we asked him to write down the places we could find it, which he gladly did! Every dish was unique and full of flavors, the dessert(s) were heavenly. Would definitely visit again if we get the chance! Grateful for the experience!

Vineria Modì – A Sublime Culinary Journey in Taormina Dining at Vineria Modì was nothing short of a transcendent experience—one that blends the warmth of Sicilian hospitality with the precision and creativity of Michelin-starred cuisine. From the moment we arrived, the team demonstrated a level of thoughtfulness and finesse that elevated the evening into something truly memorable. Daniele, who leads front-of-house, set the tone from the outset. Greeting us by name (without prompt), his confident yet unpretentious manner instantly put us at ease. Each course was introduced with clarity and just the right level of detail—enough to enrich the experience, never so much that it overshadowed the food. His hosting struck that rare balance of professionalism and warmth. The wine pairing, curated personally by Paolo the sommelier, was a highlight unto itself. He didn’t simply pour; he conversed, asked us what we liked, and tailored the selections accordingly. His knowledge ran deep—clearly someone who lives and breathes wine—and each pour complemented the dishes with elegance and intent. It felt personal, never formulaic. And then, the food: exquisite is the only word that does it justice. Each dish was a masterclass in balance—flavor, texture, visual presentation. The meal opened with playful, intricate amuse-bouches and progressed through a series of bold, beautifully composed plates. A few standouts: • The lamb dish was the undisputed star—succulent, refined, and deeply flavorful. A true showstopper that embodied both rustic heartiness and modern finesse. • The octopus was impeccably cooked, showcasing texture and char with finesse. • Every dessert was a miniature work of art, not only visually captivating but layered with complexity in flavor and technique. One of the most unexpected and delightful moments came post-dinner when we had the chance to meet Head Chef Dalila. Her humility and passion shone through in conversation, mirroring the ethos of the food she creates: intentional, expressive, and full of soul. Vineria Modì isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a narrative told through impeccable service, considered wine, and world-class cuisine. It fully deserves its Michelin star, and then some. Whether you’re a seasoned gourmand or simply someone who appreciates great hospitality, this is a destination that delivers far beyond expectations. Rating: 10/10 Highlight dish: The lamb Unmissable: Wine pairing with Paolo Best surprise: Chatting with Chef Dalila

Simply amazing. It was a show for all my senses. The food tasted, smelled and looked incredible, the staff were so polite and welcoming. From opening the door and serving complimentary delicate pastries as I chose from the menu, to offering a beautiful custom box for the desserts and helping with my jacket, at the end of my dinner, an impeccable experience! Must order: beef tartare, pork belly and the pear tart for dessert. I will come back (this means a 15+ hours flight and I wouldn’t mind it at all for another dinner like tonight’s)!

This incredible restaurant, awarded a Michelin star in November 2024, fully deserves the recognition. It offers exquisite haute cuisine, outstanding service, and an amazing wine list—everything is truly top-notch. What makes it even more special is that the head chef is a talented 30-year-old woman, which is absolutely inspiring. I highly recommend visiting this fantastic restaurant!

Yelp
Had an excellent Christmas dinner here. The wine really stood out - both a Sicilian sparkling wine and a Sicilian COS Red Frappato recommended by the waiter. The octopus starter was fresh and crispy, the soup had many flavors and was creamy. Recommend. It was quite pricey though.

Yelp
Far and away the gem of the Taormina restaurant scene. Hidden away in a quiet side street, away from the frenzy of Corso Umberto, this is a premier dining location, perfect for a special evening out. The chef, Ettore, is very creative with this ingredients and presentation, and offers a unique, ever changing menu with interesting items. The professional staff was welcoming, and quick to offer suggestions on what to get. I settled on a dish of octopus tentacles for appetizer, and a lamb dinner, both of which were cooked perfectly and retained their flavor well. The wine selection is fairly extensive, and contains quite a few fantastic Sicilian wines. Outstanding food, charming atmosphere, and well worth the price. Don't leave Taormina without trying it.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service, nice, intimate but modern atmosphere. Not cheap.
