Apologies to the staff, but food was simply very bad for a restaurant of this level. The best part of the meal was the bread.
We ate here this evening, and had the Bib Gourmand menu - "confit du canard cannelloni" starter and the "coq au vin" main. The cannelloni didn't really taste of much - definitely not duck - and the ham accompaniments were also flavourless. (Earlier in the day, I was eating pata negra jamon for lunch - now that has proper flavour). The coq au vin was the worst - simply 3 lukewarm slices of sous-vide protein (chicken breast?) without any flavour at all - with a few bland garnishes. No Maillard reaction, definitely no deep flavour from a long braise as you'd expect from a coq au vin. The dish felt like simply pulling chicken breast from the sous vide, and throwing a few prepped garnishes on it.
The amuse-bouche was alright - at least had some flavour - but nothing exceptional.
The presentation of the food is good - it looks great on the plate. But that's meaningless if there is no flavour.
The service was fine, no complaints there.
I'm sorry to say it, but I eat at many restaurants both with and without stars or Bib Gourmands, and this was some of the worst food I have been served in a very long time, especially at a restaurant with these accolades.
