We’ve been to this place several times in the past and always enjoyed it, but our latest experience was honestly terrible. Our server was clearly underage and still served us wine which, to be clear, is illegal in Virginia if you're under 21. That alone was incredibly unprofessional and concerning.
He also seemed impatient from the start, like he didn’t really want to be there. We felt rushed while ordering, and any questions we had were met with short, uninterested answers. It just created an uncomfortable atmosphere. He brought out our food at uneven times, with the first plate coming out 10 min before the last at the table (we were a party of 5).
The food, which used to be one of the highlights here, was also a letdown this time. Dishes lacked the flavor and quality we were used to, and it felt like corners were being cut in both the kitchen and the front of house.
Honestly, this place used to be solid, but the lack of attention to staff training and food quality is starting to show. If they want to keep regulars coming back, they seriously need to hire better-trained, more professional servers and get back to putting care into their food.
