Miami's Best Grocery Stores - Miami - The Infatuation

"Most of the Asian grocery stores on 163rd lean towards Chinese ingredients, but Vinh An specializes in Southeast Asian items. Shelves are lined with Filipino seasoning packets and cans of Maesri Thai curry paste, and the freezers contain things like Pinoy longaniza sausages, fermented Vietnamese sausages, and ube sausages. This is also a great place to grab a Thai mortar and pestle—either the all-purpose granite variety or the ceramic ones intended for som tum—as well as sticky rice steamers, ice shavers, and coconut graters. But what makes Vinh An a real destination (yes, even if you live in Kendall) is that it has one of the largest selections of Indonesian products we’ve seen in Miami: everything from bottles of sticky kecap manis and fuchsia coco pandan syrup to tempeh starter cultures and six-packs of Te Kotak, a very refreshing jasmine tea." - Carlos C Olaechea, Ryan Pfeffer

I’ve been shopping here for years & I still get followed around sometimes. I went yesterday to get some spices & things, & was followed around constantly, & I was shopping for awhile. It was so awkward & belittling. Whenever I would ask for help, the lady working wouldn’t help me, or want to help, and her tone suggested I was bothering her & was unwanted. Anyways. BEIJING MART is a few minutes down the street, & is cleaner, bigger, has better prices, more options, friendly staff that is helpful, & grateful for your business.

Love this store. They have all the things I need and want.

CLOSED We used to love this old fashioned asian style market. it frequently carried things we could never find anywhere else mind you there's 3 other Asian markets nearby within 2 minutes walking but this was the spot. We would drive for an hour just for this store. Unfortunately our part two trips, once Thursday around 5pm and most recent a Saturday morning 11am approx it was closed and shuttered up both times.

I would always come to get rambutan since it's my favorite fruit and 9/10 they had a nice batch ready to buy. I left Miami in Nov2022 and came back this month and it seems like the place is closed to me. I went by twice and it wasn't open. Are they even still in business? I even called a couple times and it said the number is not in service.

Google
Always so friendly. Sells a great variety of asian groceries. Update: -1 star because prices were raised and new staff was not as helpful. Update-2: -1 star because they open later than posted open hours three times in a row now

This store has been here for twenty years. A neighborhood staple, the owners are kind and friendly, willing to help and answer all questions, even about religious and cultural ephemera. THE place to buy hard-to-find items like freeze dried jack fruit and a wide selection of seaweed. Incense, candles, cool decorations, freezer section, the lottery…I love this place.

Google
I only really go here for the affordable Japanese stuff. 2$ pack of 4 pairs of chopsticks, 1.25$ for ramune, 1.25$ udon noodles, and 1$ pocky. My otaku loving needs have been met. The smell of the shop isn't as weird as I thought it would be. Yes the cashiers speak english.

I love this Asian grocery store. I make an effort to swing by whenever I'm in the area so I can restock my Thai cuisine staples.

Yelp
Traveling to Miami from LA. , California and looking for Asian market to buy some fruits, and fond on Yelp a Vinh An grocery store to stopping by. It's a small, old grocery stores where they carry no meats , nor seafood but only dried food and some vegetables and a box of mangos which has 3 left. The cashier lady seemed cold and rude and careless. I asked her if the mangos are sweet and she went yes. But soon I got to the hotel and take a bite of a mango, I almost number1 because of its sour tastes. I don't complain of my money spent but the service of the cashier lady. Business is about trust and honesty, but she failed me right at the first visit .

Yelp
After moving to Miami, I had to hunt down an Asian grocery store cuz I didn't bring any of my Asian ingredients from Vegas BUT if I had known that it was going to be so hard to find...I think I would've made room to bring more ingredients. Lol This was the first Asian grocery store on my round of Asian grocery stores and as soon as I walked in, I was soooooo disappointed. It was dark and it was teeny tiny!!! My first thought was "OMG is this it??? How am I gonna survive without my Asian stuff!!!" Then my next thought was...."I guess Amazon is going to get more of my business" lol When I first walked in... All I noticed was that it was teeny tiny... Like the size of the convenience store. But they did have a decent amount of ingredients it was just hard to get to and it was packed! No one greeted me when I walked in... But I was used to it. It's a typical Asian grocery store. Lol Ambiance is a (2/5) Now if the owners were friendly.... And the ingredients that they did carry were fresh...I would've given them a higher rating. But I bought two of those Japanese crackers with the nori and when I got home and open the package to eat it...I was once again disappointed. They were stale!!! I thought maybe it was just the first bag so I opened the second bag and yup it was stale as well. 1/5 Will I return? Nope. There are other Asian grocery stores in that area that carry a better variety with correctly rotated items at better prices.

Yelp
The place didn't look great from the outside, but it is a lot cleaner than Chung Hing market down the street. I visited both stores last Saturday in hopes of finding Thai basil, but neither store had any. Ving An has a big variety of products. There are more Vietnamese items here than other markets.

Yelp
This store has products from my country that I can't find from other Asian stores in Miami-Dade or Broward County. Thats why I like to come here. Their price is also reasonable.

Yelp
Had everything we needed. This grocery store had more Vietnamese items that I couldn't find at the nearby Chinese grocery stores. As others have mentioned, the place is on the smaller side but it has pretty much everything you would need. Also, the workers were helpful.

Yelp
I'll preface this review by saying I don't cook a lot of Asian cuisine. I make an excellent shrimp Pad Thai and that's why I come to this market. (Rice noodles are non-existent in South Beach supermarkets for some reason). While my knowledge about Asian ingredients is not extensive, I can still tell that this supermarket probably has most of what you need for your recipe. Vinh an is an authentic Asian market. Meaning the packaging (of everything) won't be in English. This was hard for me the first time I went because I didn't really know what I was looking for. Who knows what salted preserved radish looks like if you've never seen it?! Anyway, don't be afraid to ask. The staff is very helpful and always seem to know what I'm talking about. The have basic fresh produce: onions, garlic, scallions, chives, and some other specialty veggies. They also carry cookware and other household stuff. When I went today, they had 2 packages of freshly made shrimp spring rolls sitting next to the cashier. I'm guessing they make a few dishes everyday and sell them as small packages. Prices are very reasonable (1 package of rice noodles (1 lb) for about $1.75) Parking lot right out front, not to hard to find, only a few blocks away from PK Market.

Yelp
I love this shop! They have everything! Of all the Asian shops i've been to in miami, this is by far the best. It's a cramped little store, but has everything. But.. be prepared to dig around. The shop keepers either pretend not to speak english, or are just mean and don't want to help. Needless to say, they have it all. One of my reasons for always visiting this shop is for the yam noodles. Impossible to find anywhere else! And of course having a peek around, there is always something else to find and want. Even found a few indian bits and bobs. Great place, worth a visit! I come here about once a month for my supplies!

Yelp
Most helpful oriental market in the area. They carry all types of products from Indonesian to Korean. This store has the most wide range of products in Miami to date. Coming from L.A. to Miami was quite a culture shock since the asian community is far less than cali, but as far as the main ingredients and veggies, starches, and snacks this store carries it all.

Yelp
I like this place and the owners are friendly, but I don't think the hours posted are correct. This is the second time I have come to this market and it is closed. I arrived at 9:00 am, supposedly opening time, and sat around until 9:20 am. The store is still closed. Can someone please update the hours? Or do the owners just not care to open on time?

Yelp
Really nice, clean, I found vegan frozen mock meats. Really nice lady at the check out. The vegan mock meats were expensive, I wanted some vegan shrimp but they didn't have. I bought the nuggets ($7) and the drumsticks ($15) there were other 'chicken' mock meats but I didn't get them. I found tapioca starch for $1.19, a sushi mat for 2$ or 3$.

Yelp
Well stocked. You'll find a lot of items aren't available at other nearby Asian grocery stores. Price is decent. The only thing is I wish they had more varieties on the vegetables. Will definitely go back again.

Bailey N.

Yelp
We drove all the way from South Beach to here just to find fish sauce. I know finding anything Asian in Florida- restaurants, markets, Asian people - is like finding a unicorn, but this place was disappointing. So tiny!

Yelp
I've shopped here a few times for some cooking ingredients, i.e. sauces (hoisin, black bean, oyster, fish, etc. -- which you can really find anywhere), noodles (some fresh wheat noodle, otherwise mostly frozen), dumplings (try the large ones -- Korean brand). they focus a bit more on vietnamese, but have everything (see pho ingredients). in terms of prices, a little more on the expensive side, but a fair variety. this place can complement PK Oriental down the road. also it's good to stop by Laurenzo's to get your vegetables and fruits, all in one trip.

Yelp
I am 1/2 Vietnamese and I was glad to see a lot of items that I grew up with. I'm so happy to have a Vietnamese grocery store in my 'hood. They have my favorite type of banh trang that I've only found in one other Asian grocery store but that one is all the way in South Miami. So for that, they get 5 stars.

Yelp
Great little Asian market to get your Asian candy fix on. It's a little cramped and in a sketchy part of town. I didn't find the proprietors to be too friendly or helpful. I knew the items I needed, got them and got out. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if I'm in that area of town I have no problem popping in to get my prawn cracker fix.

Yelp
Mabi the owner was really helpful when I asked him about the different brands he offered and the best things to use when cooking. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. I'd rather make the drive here to buy my Asian groceries than pay more for no variety at Publix. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they don't have a fresh seafood area or roast duck like PK.

Yelp
Flavors are more sw Asian and Vietnamese so not my specialty. But it does look well stocked if you're of that taste..

Yelp
The best asian grocery store in Miami!!! The Owner is a really nice man and he is happy to answer any questions!!!
