"This Chinese seafood restaurant in Falls Church serves a wide variety of dim sum dishes every day, including hard-to-find items such as Malaysia cake and a white sponge cake. There is limited indoor seating due to COVID restrictions, and orders are taken and then delivered via cart." - Jamie Liu

Let me get this off my chest first: they charge you automatically 18% tip without letting you know ahead of time - and the service was not good at all. We were not happy with the poor service, stale food, and gross atmosphere. They sat us down and pretty much forgot about us. The folks who came behind us had better service and were served first. Everyone else had tea served and had utensils. They didn’t serve us tea and they took our drink orders three times. We had to ask for utensils. They gave us three napkins for a party of four, so we had to ask for more. The dim sum food was stale and not fresh at all. Seems like they just reheated everything item. We had to ask for soy sauce and chili oil. The duck noodle was nice though. Tables were not very clean and the bathroom was horrible. The price is way too much for what you get.

🤘My fave Dim Sum restaurant in the area! It seems they've gone back to hiring staff to properly handle the capacity of business that comes in here. 🍙Our food legit started coming to the table within 5 mins of us putting in our food order! So happy things are running smoothly around here again, we will most definitely go back to adding this to our once a month dem sum routine! 🍥 oh yeah, let's not forget to mention their ROCKSTAR waitress, Mindy! Thanks Mindy for making our dining experience even between! 🥢 Basically, THINGS HAVE CHANGED FOR THE BETTER!

I've been here several times. Today, will be the last time. The food quality is decent. Is it the best? No, but there are limited dim sum establishments...and even more limited options for vegetarian/vegan dim sum options. I'm vegetarian and my partner is an omnivore and have tried a lot of the menu. The waitstaff is generally friendly and nice! What really turns me off is the extreme disorganization of the management and the kitchen. We ordered quite a bit of food and this time (over $100, in which they charge automatic gratuity), it took over an hour an a half to get some of our order. It took so long, that we ended up canceling the rest of the items. When we brought it up with management...a younger Asian guy with a hat, he literally just shrugged and said "It's Easter". We have patronized this restaurant many times, and regardless of the day, it's always inefficient and slow...even during regular weekends with few customers in the restaurant . But the rudeness of management has shown me that this is not a place that deserves my money for okay food. Yes, the restaurant, looks run down, but as an Asian person, I've been to places like this and it's not a problem. In addition, as an Asian person, who is used to Asian service....the management is severely below average in terms of service. I would not recommend this place until the management learns how to treat people with kindness and respect.

I have been a patron for almost 30 years. I have never had a bad experience. I have never had bad service. Yes at times it has been busy, but never bad. food has been very consistent over the years, certainly the duck, most of all, has been amazing throughout the entire time, also the duck noodle soup and the BBQ pork over rice (not the crunchy skin (not that there is an issue, i just don't get that one)), and any of the seafood dishes I have tried, and the pan fried noodles, all are awesome. the Dim Sum is kind of a new thing (relatively speaking) and i get that from time to time, usually as an appetizer. When I come here, it's like visiting an old friend. Some of the nicest people that you could ever meet. This place is traditional, not trendy. Siu mei is the staple attraction for me. large tables filled with extended Chinese families sharing meals together is what you can expect to see when you dine here. Not many places like this around, now that Fortune has closed. Try getting the half duck, maybe soy chicken, the pork, and some pan fried noodles and a shrimp dish and a veg like eggplant in garlic sauce and you can't go wrong!

Tonight for our 5 year anniversary my Asian wife wanted some authentic Asian food. We heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered for starters we ordered Crab meat asparagus soup. It was very good. We shared it and finished all of it. The next thing we ordered was the fried lobster. It was very good. I only had a bite because its too high in cholesterol for me. Also we ordered the squid with sea salt. All was very good. So we have no complaints but only good things to say.

Google
The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. We also felt the portion sizes were fantastic compared to other dim sum spots we have tried in the area. Easy parking, yummy food, good variety, and friendly staff. What more can one ask for? We would come back here again.

Google
Went there twice last May 2019. Good food but the waitress who took our order was nasty and did not smile at all. We were served lukewarm tea that we asked to be changed but the tea still came back lukewarm. Had the dimsum - taro puff and the turnip cake XO was good, and then when we went back, we had the fried shrimp, eggplant, fried chicken and chive dumplings. Best dishes we had were the taro puff, turnip cake, fried shrimp and eggplant. Easy parking and next to the Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich shop.

Child!!!! This place is amazing! Samantha was the best and gave a great recommendation on the our dish. Below is the Crispy Chicken. This dish was to die for! Everything comes out hot. They are locally own and operated right here in Falls Church. Gotta love this place. Best in the DMV!

Yelp
I've been coming here since 2018 and, the service has been great regardless of how busy they are! They've always taken care of us and have given us great food consistently!

Yelp
I was skeptical to eat at first when I saw the leaky ceiling, dirty tables and floors. But never judge a book by its cover, well that saying was wrong for once with this place. The food was not great I asked if they had any gf alternatives (in Cantonese and English) they said yes but it ended up just not putting in soy sauce. Then they kept asking us to add more dishes but it was just two adults and a small child. I said we didn't need that many dishes. And with that being said they had really bad attitude. Before we were done eating g they started to clean the tables (it was on around 6:30pm) They add in the tip automatically and when you say you want to change it they say it's store policy. Please don't waste your time here.

Yelp
I came here before but haven't been back for many years. To my delight they have dim sum here now so that was great. Inside looks just as I remember it with plenty of seating. Service was great and the waiter gave good knowledge of the menu. We ordered most of the traditional dim sum dishes and I enjoyed the food, it was very comparable to other places in this area. After my long hiatus I plan on coming back for dim sum now. Lastly I did notice is they had the pork buns that were baked and not in the traditional puffy bread. I prefer these since the traditional buns are just too much bread for me.

Yelp
My recent takeout order from Vinh Kee was a disappointing experience, marked by both pricing discrepancies and subpar food quality. I ordered custard buns and small egg drop soup, expecting to pay $8.95, as told by the staff since the buns price was 5.25 . However, when the bill arrived, it was $15.05. Turns out, the $8.95 was just for the soup in a small size, not the entire order. To make matters worse, the egg drop soup was overly salty, and the cornstarch in the soup wasn't well-blended. This mix-up and unexpected overcharge and quality of the soup left me frustrated, and I won't be coming back.

Yelp
We had the best Dim Sum yesterday! We ordered the pork soup dumplings; and fish dumplings, seasonal fresh vegetables and steam sea bass; the owners and staff are super nice. We went away agreeing the chef did a good job! The dishes are super delicious, not salty; they are freshly made with a lingering satiation.

Yelp
Really good dim sum, friendly service, and convenient location. The rice crepe with shrimp were some of the best I've had in America (and I lived in Hong Kong too). Shrimp with tofu good too.

Do S.

Yelp
The wait was toooooo long. And the wait staff keep telling us our order is coming. After 1 hour, we left very upset. I can't tell if the food is good or not. I did not eat anything. This was Sunday lunch.

Yelp
First time ever experienced a restaurant charged 18% gratitude regardless how many people dine - in. This is ridiculous! Paid $70 for 5 DimSum dishes (regular size) and a small order of roasted pork! I would have not complained if one of the dishes was good!! Never come back.

Yelp
Wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for my cousin who lives in Fairfax. From the name you'd think it was Vietnamese and some of the dishes were a bit different from Hong Kong style. We were taking dim sum to my cousin's. The place apparently has been there for about 20 years and we've driven past it numerous times without noticing it. It's a pretty well maintained place with a sizeable dining room nice restrooms and somewhat ornate decor. Service was good and friendly. They have a wheelchair accessible ramp up front. We had a big order for a big family which included a vegetarian and a vegan. We had siu mai, har gow, baked and steamed char siu bao, chicken bao, fried veggie eggrolls, veggie mah po tofu, chicken chow mein, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. These were all pretty much the standard. The pan fried turnip cake was cut up in cubes, and I didn't recognize them but they were good. The pan fried taro cake was a patty of shrimp paste covered in thin strips of taro fried crisp. Very unusual looking but very good. The crisp, stuffed tofu was vegan and good. We were surprised that an order of custard tarts was only two pieces until we saw them. These are the largest tarts I've ever seen and they were delicious! Very flaky crust and generous filling. The deep-fried sesame balls were still crisp and delicious. The roast pork was great. We'll be back.

Yelp
To celebrate our 5th anniversary, my Asian wife and I decided to indulge in authentic Asian cuisine at a highly recommended restaurant. For starters, we savored the Crab Meat Asparagus Soup, which left us impressed with its delightful flavors. Moving on to the Fried Lobster, my wife enjoyed it immensely while I savored a cautious bite due to its high cholesterol content. Additionally, the Squid with Sea Salt was a standout dish, perfectly seasoned and thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, our experience was outstanding, leaving us with nothing but praise for the delicious offerings.

Yelp
I take my 2017 review back, Vinh Kee is something I *do* crave on a regular basis! In fact, ordering a takeout spread from Vinh Kee on Lunar New Year has been my MO for the past few years. I'm not super traditional with my ordering but nothing beats their spicy fried pork chops (Protip: Save those crispy garlic bits and top it off on your rice), combination pan fried noodles, beef chow fun, mongolian beef and chicken fried rice. A meal here totally takes me back to my youth and chowing down on Canto food with my pops. It is getting a bit harder for me to find this style food in the area so I am so glad that this battered down restaurant is still dishing out the goods. Takeout is efficient and quick! I am a fan.

Yelp
My absolute favorite dim sum place!!! They do a picture menu instead of carts, which is fine by me because everything comes out fresh fresh fresh! Not only do they do all the classic, typical dim sum dishes really well (har gow, shumai, baos/buns, rice noodle crepes, pork ribs in black bean sauce), they also have hard-to-find dishes that you don't see at restaurants outside of Asia. They have XO turnip cakes and Bei Fung Tong har gow! They also had a delicious fried oyster dish one time that I haven't seen on the menu. They were just bringing it out on trays and offering them to tables. I hope they bring it back or that it shows up on the menu some day. This was how we first had XO turnip cakes here before it was added to the menu. We've found that if they ever offer a dish, a good rule of thumb is to say yes. Because it will be incredibly tasty and you may never have the chance again. There's a big free parking lot right outside that I've always been able to get a spot in. They're also super accommodating to large groups. I once had a big family event here with over 20 people, and it was so easy. The event and booking process was totally stress free. It was much better than when we tried to book at competitor Hong Kong Pearl - that involved multiple rounds of phone tag only to be badgered about a minimum that kept changing and they wouldn't even guarantee everyone could be seated near each other. In contrast, Vinh Kee handled everything over one short phone call, didn't require any deposits or minimums, and seated everyone at adjacent tables. On the day of the event, everyone just had to show up. Afterwards, they all raved about the food and what a good time they had. Thanks Vinh Kee!

Yelp
Tried their dim sum today, so bad. Some of their items tasted like stale old rags. Saw a family trying to return an item because they said it tasted bitter and smelled bad and the lady at the front berated them for it, bad customer service. Just don't go here, better options out there.

Lillian L.

Yelp
I hate leaving places negative reviews but I try to only do it if I've visited at least twice. I dined here last month and then this week. The servers here look like they don't enjoy working here and you can just see it in their posture and attitude. Last month I had only ate with one other person. I always felt that dim sum places prayed on the weak and would add dishes when you didn't order them hoping you wouldn't notice but always hoped to be wrong. This time we actually checked. They let you order off a paper menu and as dishes come out, they mark it on your sheet. The server I noticed marked an extra slash on ours as I recounted our dishes. She mentioned that a dish was coming but she marked it early. My friend and I had a strange feeling so we left at least one piece of food for each dish we ordered on the plate. Then a few minutes later, a gentleman walks out with a dish for our table and again, marks our sheet. I ask to speak to the lady and let her know they charged us twice for the same dish. She doesn't apologize but grabs the sheet and starts counting our dishes trying to see how many we ordered and if she has made a mistake which I'm sure she knew she did. She left our table for about 15 minutes trying to figure it out and I think she was hoping we would just tell her not to worry about it but we stood our ground. I'm sure this isn't the first time they've done this. She finally comes back with the sheet and says she took care of it. In my mind I'm hoping this was an honest mistake. Then we get the check. We were a party of TWO and they had added a 18% gratuity onto our bill. No where on their menus or establishment were their signs of this. I'm not mad about paying it, I'm mad you didn't disclose it to your customers beforehand. Most of the time tips included like this are for larger parties which is understandable and even then, it's written somewhere to let the party know. They also add this at the bottom and there's a ton of numbers on the check so it just seems like another fee or tax so customers won't think to ask and I'm sure many customers have added extra tip on top of that SO MAKE SURE TO ALWAYS CHECK because you are already tipping them and they are trying to just get extra money from customers! My second experience this week was similar. I didn't want to come back but my friend had insisted on coming here so I decided to give them another chance. They had the same servers that didn't want to be there. I came late and asked for a water and look down to find a bug in it. Not sure what type but asked for a new water and realized yeah, probably shouldn't drink this new one either. Did any of the servers apologize? Nope. We ordered about 9 dishes for the four of us and the food came out pretty fast. Our bill total was about $92. I get home and realize I should have checked the check more throughly because of my previous experience and I realize they probably had charged us tip again (I mean they did it for a party of 2 last month so why wouldn't they for a party of 4 now?) and we had tipped on top of that. I recheck the pricing at home and our bill would have been about $68. How are taxes and fees making up for $24? They had to have added the 18% tip to our bill but even with that, I was overcharged somehow. Definitely will not be going back. Don't make the same mistake we made, MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL! I understand it's hard during these times but this place needs to get it together.

Yelp
Came here to try some dim sum during our vacation home. The food here was fine. We were very hungry so we ordered a lot... and we took some home of course. Their waitress was really rude. Right after we sat by the table (literally 4 seconds after) she asked what we want to drink. I asked what they offer. She answered yea, water and soda. I said okay we'd have some tea. Then she asked again, what kind of tea? She asked this without even telling us what kind of tea they offer.... How on earth can I know what tea you have.. When she brought our food out, she didn't even bother to tell us what is what... very rude. We were thinking to give less tips for her service, then eventually found out that they charge 18% tips by force for party of 1 or more... so basically you have to pay 18% tips even you eat here by yourself and even they serve you really bad...

Yaran S.

Yelp
I was harassed by Vinh Kee's owner Sydney T after leaving the 3-star review. Apparently she was mad at the review and the 15% tip we gave. 8 years as a yelper, this is my very first time getting attacked due to an honest review, and it's a 3-star, not 1. Another yelper also mentioned insulation from the same owner. Wish I saw it before our visit. Avoid by all means!!!

Leesa V.

Yelp
Pay attention to the bill or else you will double tip. Even for a party of one you're still automatically charged 18% tip

Stacy D.

Yelp
I was craving Cantonese roast duck ended up ordering half roast duck to go from Vinh Kee as well as Mark's restaurant in the evening, so I got a good opportunity to compare the duck from both places. Vinh Kee's half roast duck was ~$18, it was a little bit larger than Mark's but had a lot more pieces where it's all just fat and I can't eat, the color was less dark, was a little bit less flavorful than Mark's and needed more sauce. Overall, it's a decent duck. Mark's half roast duck: the skin's color is a beautiful dark red maple, the skin is crispy, duck was not too fatty, meat is flavorful and lean, and the sauce great.  Price wise it was $16 or $17 before tax and tip, can't remember the exact number. I think after trying both I slightly prefer Mark's duck more than Vinh Kee's, it tastes better, better price, and since Mark's is also closer to me that gives me a little nudge in Mark's direction too. Will definitely go to Mark's first choice and come here 2nd.

Priscilla T.

Yelp
More 3.5, but my family used to come here often! It's a decent Cantonese and dimsum location, but not our favorite. The dimsum is all day every day, but no carts. My favorite thing here is the XO Turnip Cake, and I can't find it anywhere else!! I've enjoyed a lot of things here like the classic dimsum items, snow pea tips, seafood dishes, fried rice, noodle dishes, etc. I did not enjoy the sea bass here tho. It was dry and bland...

Luanna L.

Yelp
Shady Chinese restaurant. They added the TIP automatically for 1 person dining. I tip, but to add it automatically is just wrong. I understand if it's 6 or more, but 1 person? I took a screenshot from the video I posted when I just sat down. Nobody was there, but me. I should have read the review first before coming here. I didn't realize the rest of the bad reviews have complained about auto-added TIP. Very Shady business!! The business replied back that Asian don't eat dinner till 8 Haha! I am Asian! ‍

Yelp
In more recent years, it has become a family tradition to order takeout here for birthdays and celebrations, with occasional dine in. In addition to a plethora of dim sum dishes, we have a few entrees that are our go-to, such as the deep fried pork chops, dry beef chow foon, stir fried Chinese watercress with garlic, noodle soup (so comforting and hearty!), roast pig, clams in black bean sauce... whew. They have Peking duck too, which we will splurge on once in awhile! The dim sum is solid here. It always comes out hot and fresh and overall just tasty! I love the har gow, shumai, and crab claws and crave it constantly. I'm absolutely thrilled they offer it all day! This is my habitual dim sum oasis. One improvement they can make is their pricing - it can be erratic at times (e.g. outdated menus, arbitrary policies, etc). Make sure you double check everything upfront and if you have questions at the end they are generally nice about clarifying everything (although the time spent scrutinizing the bill takes away a bit of a nice dining experience). I had no issues during my most recent dine-in, though, and I've had good experience with our servers. Will be back soon!

Jessica S.

Yelp
3.5 stars! Service was standard- nothing to complain about. They were very nice and speedy(given there weren't many guests eating at that time) Food: I think the quality and taste was also very standard. Nothing amaaaazing. I would def come back for some simple dim sum but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here if it weren't already in my neighborhood.

Kay W.

Yelp
Went there for dim sum on a holiday afternoon. Ambiance was pleasant, fairly empty. Service was decent and friendly. Food came out steamy hot, but very average in flavor. Went from 3 to 2 stars because of pricing. Overpriced for average flavor and portion. $6-7 for a standard dim sum dish. Opted to try a "special" which turned out to be $12 for a dish with 4 pieces of shrimp dumpling cooked in some fried onion bits. Sorry, but that's just a rip off.

Dave N.

Yelp
God I'm torn. On the one hand, Chinese food in DMV keeps hitting me $3-5 too high per dish, and this place is no different. On the other hand, they have everything I want and they do it super well. It's a little past Eden Center - just keep going west and you'll hit it. There's a solid selection of Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Vinh Kee is literally the only restaurant I could find with salted fish fried rice, which is probably one of my favorite dishes ever. It hurts me it's $3 to add chicken instead of coming with it, but that's fine I guess. The dim sum selection looks pretty solid too, but I haven't been. Even before the pandemic I've pretty much only gotten takeout, but I wanted to give props to their takeout setup: I Stan super hard for anyone with center to-go boxes since the steam can escape and food will stay crispy. You can see for yourself, Vinh Kee makes them manually, and even delivery that got to me an hour later was still solid! Super hard for me to pass so many Viet places to get here but I never regret it. Vinh Kee is probably my one stop wonder if I keep flip flopping Chinese or Vietnamese cravings.

Alan L.

Yelp
BEWARE! This establishment charges 18% gratuity regardless of your party size. We were charged for a group of two. They do not tell this to the customers anywhere- no signs posted, nothing on the menus. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CHECK before paying!!!! They also charged us for an extra dish thinking we would not notice and were unapologetic about it when it was a mistake on their end. I would not come back here and would not recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Vinh Kee Ratings: 4/5 Food: 4.25/5 - Recommended by a friend and my first time here. Dim sum is the only correct way to start the new year off, LOL. I went with a friend, so we couldn't order everything on the menu, but just some of our favorites, and this place was solid, definitely better than what I have expected, especially the lotus wrap. Please see the description below. - Sticky Rice Lotus Wrap [GET]: The BEST thing on the menu. This pork stick rice wrapped in lotus wrap is not like any other ones I have had. First of all, the rice is not too sticky or heavy, instead it was light and fluffy, where you can taste each grain individually, not even joking. There's sausage, pork, and other veggies in the rice. The seasonings were perfect, flavors were spot on, and cooked insanely well. Nothing I would change about this, but if I had to then it would be a bigger portion, because I literally wanted a second one. - Pork Bean Curd Wrap [GET]: Typical tofu skin wrap with pork fillings. It was good, and inside was packed with good quality pork. The tofu skin was tender, juicy, but not too soggy, and had a nice chewy and texture. Perfect to pair it with some sticky rice. - Shui Mai [GET]: Came out steamy hot, huge four pieces of shui mai made with huge chunks of pork and shrimp topped with some fish eggs. It has a good layer of chewy wonton skin on the outside, and each bite was fulfilling juicy, and delicious, literally one of the best comfort food you can have here. - Leek Dumplings [GET]: The dumpling skin was fried perfectly with a cripsy golden outer layer. You can literally hear the crunch each time you bite into it. The fillings was good size, packed with leek and fatty pork meat, super delicious and flavorful, so good that no sauce is needed. - Taro Cake [GET]: One of the iconic dish at dim sum. There are three huge slices of taro cake and they were pan fried just right. Each slice has a decent amount of taro chunks and pork in it. Definitely scrumptious, and I devoured like 2 pieces out of the 3. - Sesame Balls [GET]: Freshly fried and crispy. Great mochi texture, so it was pleasantly chewy and sticky, loved it so much. I believe the filling was red bean, and usually I only eat the outer skin, but surprisingly I really enjoy the paste and ate it all, because it wasn't too sweet, and literally melts in your mouth. - Egg Tarts [SKIP]: Flaky and butter crust with a solid creamy egg filling. The filling was too sweet, and I didn't like how it was just lukewarm coming out. Overall, it was pretty average, definitely had tastier egg tarts in the DMV area at a better price too, so I would probably skip it and order something else on the menu like another round of the lotus stick rice wrap, LOL. Ambiance: 4/5 - This spot is located just a bit west of Eden Center in a big shopping center lot. It looks like a typical Asian dim sum place, super spacious with Asian decorations and a bunch of round tables and chairs. Expect this place to be loud, full of people, and waiters running in and out of the kitchen. This is just the normal at a dim sum place. Price: 4/5 - All the dim sum places in the DMV area ranges between $3 to $6 per dish, and I thought it was pretty reasonable compared to other places. We got a total of 7 dishes to share between the two of us, and we were very satisfied and full after the meal. Overall, pretty good experience and worth the price. Service: 3.75/5 - Got seated as soon as we walked in, and our server asked us if we wanted tea. Service was prompt and efficient. We ordered our food by selecting the dim sum dishes on the menu provided, and our server would bring us the food once it's ready. Although I like the traditional dim sum carts, but this way was good too, because food are guaranteed served fresh and hot. Don't expect outstanding service here, most of the time Asian places, especially dim sum spots are always lacking their customer service. BLUF: Pretty solid and standard dim sum place in the DMV area. All of their dim sum were tasty, but their pork stick rice lotus rice was by far my favorite of the day and freaking amazing. 100% MUST order, and you will not regret it. I definitely can see myself coming back with more friends to try out other dishes they got.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way to NC for lunch. First time so not sure what to expect. It's decent. I'm from LA so it is hard to beat! My 7 yo had the shrimp dumplings and shrimp in rice noodles! She devoured it all. I ordered the shrimp stuffed tofu and stuffed eggplant. They were nice and hot but the sauce was a little bland. I also ordered the shu mai and it was pretty good as well as the chive dumpling. This was Not as crispy as I'd like but it never is everything was hot and pretty good. Service was attentive and pleasant. I'd come back when in the area. Love that they have it everyday all day!!

Yelp
After having been a loyal customer for about 25 or so years, we are not a fan of this place anymore. We usually order the same dishes and this latest order was the worst ever. They must have hired someone without experience or taste. Adding insults to injuries, the container for rice is now 1/4 of the size it used to be.

Yelp
The dim sum is solid here! I believe they used to have the carts but we ordered off a menu. The dishes came pretty quickly once we put in the order. We didn't have to wait on a Saturday for brunch even though we had a big party.

Yelp
This is a scam Chinese restaurant. They put 18% directly into your bill without asking first (this is illegal and a scam). The service is also bad. They gave you a bill even when you haven't finished eating your food, so rude! The food is trash. I ordered noodle soup with roast pork, the soup is tasteless and has weird smell. Horrible experience. Don't go here!

Yelp
this place for dim sum is solid! the char sui baos are the best out of all the dim sum places I've been to (han palace, HK pearl, etc). I was skeptical of this place but my friends have been telling me that their dim sum is very good and when I read the yelp reviews, I wasn't convinced so had to try it out myself. I came yesterday around noon and it was fairly empty and ordered all my favorites, shu mai, pork spareribs, fried radish cake, steamed bun with egg yolk, etc and everything was HOT and FRESH and yummy! I enjoyed my dim sum with my family here and will come back again. only bad thing was that it took a while to get our food since its cooked fresh? I don't know but wait was long. Service was good.

Yelp
I like dim sum. I saw this restaurant next to Pho 75 and wanted to give it a try. The restaurant is old with greasy tables. We ordered the sesame chicken, fried sweet rice, steam Chinese broccoli and snow pea leaf dumpling. The sesame chicken is big chunk, not juicy and tasty like other Chinese restaurants we had before. The snow pea dumplings are actually shrimp dumplings with little snow pea. We expected a veggie dumplings with snow pea leaves since there is no description stating there are shrimps in the dumplings. When I told the manager that the name of snow pea dumplings are misleading, she said I should have asked before ordering. Also, tips are not options in this restaurant. 18% tips are charged in your bill regardless if you are party of one or ten or if you are satisfied or not with the service.

Yelp
Dim Sum! Vinh Kee has become our go to for Dim Sum. We have ordered carry out several times and the food is always excellent. So many good dishes to have. I will say my mom absolutely has to get their combo lo mein. She loves it.

Yelp
I thought I'd give Vinh Kee a try since my friend had previously recommended it. The first time i stopped by, I unfortunately stopped by the week the restaurant was closed. The second time, I stopped by on a Sunday around 11 am. It was pretty empty, maybe 3 or 4 tables of people. There were only a few people working but the service was pretty slow. We started with the Shrimp Rice Crepe. The rice wrapper was nice and soft. I've had this dish from other restaurants before and the rice wrapper was hard. I really liked the soy sauce that came with this dish as it was a bit sweeter. We've also ordered the Pork Dumpling, Shrimp Dumpling, Chicken Feet, Pork Buns, Taro Cake. The chicken feet were really bland. I was surprised with the color of the sauce that it didn't have more flavor. The rest of the dishes were fine. They were good but weren't super flavorful like I've had at other restaurants. The one plus is that the dishes came out hot. Definitely wouldn't come here again for Dim Sum as there are a bunch of other locations that I think taste better.

Yelp
The place was empty for lunch No cart to carry any food You have to order and same food that I had in other dim sum places were 2times more expensive Very disappointed

Yelp
We had been looking forward to visiting a Dim Sum place in DC and to our disappointment they had been shut down for a couple of years. That left us with wanting dim sum and no place to go. A couple of reviews on the internet led us here. The food was delicious. My favorite dumpling was the chive and I believe there was another one that had scallops that was very tasty. We ordered take out and got it back to the house and it was still hot and fresh. This will be my go to dim sum place when in the DC area.

Yelp
I'll be honest, when we walked in a little passed their opening time, I was terribly disappointed that we were the only customers. Not a good sign, considering most dim sum places are packed by 10am and you usually have to claw your way in getting the good stuff. But we decided to stay and try out what they had to offer since we had both been craving dim sum. Food: You mark what you'd like on their paper menu and they bring it out to you. They had carts but it looked like most of them were just delivering orders versus the traditional ordering method, which is honestly a lot less stressful. We ordered the typical dim sum fare, although the standouts for me were the tendon and the shu mai. I didn't care for the har gaw or the xiao long bao (soup dumpling) but they definitely weren't terrible. One of the very first things I noticed and the main reason this place gets a 4 rather than a 3, was the service. I think this is the first time I was offered a refill at a Chinese restaurant and asked how my dining experience was going. Seriously was impressed with the courteous staff.

Yelp
For someone who can't eat shrimp/crab, there was definitely enough of options to choose from. Although I do wish they had an icon or something to indicate it had shellfish inside. I like going to this place for Dim Sum when it's not crowded during holiday season otherwise it's a long line.

Yelp
This is by far the best dim sum I have ever eaten. I'm not too familiar with dim sum. I usually go to these places with my wife and her family. They know what they want, they order for the table and we pretty much eat what is placed on front of us. This was a small experience for two of us. We don't get a chance to drive out to the Eden Center too often. After some research on Yelp, and the various Sunday morning traffic challenges we decided to come here. It was a Sunday prime time and the weather was good. Thanks to the yelper who pointed out the giant pot hole in the lot. The space in front of it was the only open spot so we grabbed it, very carefully avoiding the deep hole. We were immediately seated and our drink orders were taken. The 2-3 carts arrived right away. We started with simple dumplings. They arrived warm. We ordered a couple of other dishes: sticky rice and fried dumplings. The cart server said she would warm up the food for us. That's the first time we had ever been offered that service. All the food was fresh and hot. I had the best dining experience. The hot chili sauce was the highlight of my meal. If they didn't have it in the cart, they made it. If they ran out of an item, they made it. The severs never forgot our orders. They really provided excellent service. We will definitely be back for dim sum and hope to bring friends and family.

Yelp
Pretty good dim sum spot not too far from DC metro area. It's located in a small shopping center about 5 minutes from Eden Center. It was Saturday noon time but not crowded at all. There was 2 or 3 carts rolling around but had all the essentials that we wanted haha. I made my friend try the infamous chicken feet and surprisingly he loved it. We also got cha siu bao, shrimp shumai, taro crispy cake with shrimp, crystal shrimp dumplings, Peking duck, crispy pork and sesame bao. All of dishes were up to standard and fresh and all came out to be about $41. I'm excited to discover another good Chinese spot and I will be back for sure.

Yelp
Check the price out before you order food, and then before you sign, you ask how much are details of items that you order,if you go to restaurant just under 3 persons, don't give tips, because they automatically charged 18%/ per items, and then they will request more 18% on tips( read small line in the menu, they will say tips were more than 18% for table 5 or more person ). I never come back here again. This restaurant is fraud, be careful and get away from that, if you don't want to become victims. I am regret when I didn't read reviews of people who ever come here and becomes their victims.

Olivia R.

Yelp
Shady chinese restaurant. Food was standard and bland. They charge $1 extra for asking the beef and chinese broccoli to be spicier and add $2 for selecting chicken in the hot sour soup on the menu without any note. On top of that they automatically charged 20% tip to the total bill for party of 3. Saturday night and their restaurant was half empty and we know why now.

Yelp
I haven't been back since Covid hit in 2019. So I went back this weekend. During Covid we would order takeout and we enjoyed it. This time we figure let's go sit in. It wasn't crowded which I thought was strange before I got home and looked up yelp reviews. Hmmm...there was a lot of reviews about waiters and waitress being mean, rude, but I experienced just the opposite. They were all very courteous and friendly. Being an ABC they were helpful with Cantonese and English speaking too. Food wise I liked it, but either my taste buds are off or chef changed it was okay for me. The food looked pretty good but the flavor seems off a bit. Hard to describe but wasn't as distinct For me it was between great and very good if I was asked my opinion. Food came out fast and hot. I missed Cantonese food and hearing cantonese spoken so I enjoyed my time there. I don't know about the other reviewers past complaint about the 18% service charge I might not of noticed it. If they still have a 18% service charge still in place, I would suggest they eliminate that, knowing how especially Asians hate service charges, cause that will kill the business in this area. Not a good business plan for Asian restaurants that want to keep local support. Otherwise, I enjoyed the food and the service and I hope folks will give them a try back and return.

Yelp
Vinh Kee is a Hong Kong-style Cantonese restaurant located off of Arlington Boulevard, which offers an extensive menu that includes lobster salads, roasted pork, noodle dishes, and fish. A group of us came here for a dim sum get-together, and, honestly, I was a little apprehensive. I haven't had much luck with dim sum, as the food usually (always) fell flat. I left it to others to make the executive decisions, and, I'm glad that I did! We tried the Har Gow, the Shui Mai, the Pork Beancurd Wrap, the Steam Beef Ball, the Scallop/Shrimp Dumpling, the Snow Pea Dumpling, the Steam Spare Rib, the Shrimp Rice Crepe, the Steam Chicken Bun, the Shanghai Pork Dumpling, the Steam BBQ Pork Bun, the Fried Chives Bun, the BBQ Pork Bun, the Crab Claw, the Steam Custard Bun, the Turnip Cake, and the Steam Chinese Broccoli. Most of the bites seemed to have their own individual distinct flavors, and I appreciated that the seafood tasted clean and fresh. None of the fried items were overly greasy, and adding a bit of chili oil and soy sauce to the items elevated the flavors. The staff members were friendly and efficient, but some of the dim sum carts had many repeats; make sure that you strongly request some of the items that you would like, and the staff will try to work with you to get them as part of your spread! I'm glad I was able to check this place out, and I wouldn't be opposed in returning for another dim sum group date! +fresh dim sum spread +efficient staff +plenty of parking in shared plaza lot

Yelp
I've been here once for the dim sum and it was okay so I haven't gone back. I decided to give it a try again after a few year and it was not good at all. I order for to go and let's say the food was really disappointing. I ordered the salted fish fried rice, pork chop kingdom, and roasted duck. Everything was so bad!! The salted fish fried rice had no meat, 80% was rice, the rest was oil, salted fish crumbs, eggs, and green onions. It was like $18 and it was little portion too. The pork chop kingdom had the littlest portion I've ever seen!!!!!! The duck had little meat because the duck was thin, let me tell you that I've eaten plenty of roasted duck and it's never this thin. The seasoning on the duck was really bland too. With none of the order for food was good, I doubt other dishes are good. For customer service, I knew coming in for food during the holiday will be crowded, I was blessed I didn't have to wait for at least 2hrs like other people did. If you are coming here for holiday, expect long wait time (both for to go and dine in) and bad customer service + disorganized staff. Overall, I will not come back here for the food or to be ignored when coming in plus very RUDE customer service.

Yelp
Food: Traditional dim sum offerings, dim sum were made to order by marking it down on the menu. Did m sum were served fresh and warm, delicious. Service: They tried to be attentive but was extremely short staffed. They were able to take my order and addressed everything that I needed. But I saw a long line waiting to be seated, and there were a few open tables, they weren't able to seat them because they spent all their attention into figuring out the orders. The restaurant also has a distinctive smell that wasn't welcoming. It didn't bother us after awhile sitting there. Other than the smell and if you can get there early (before 12:00) this is not a bad choice for dim sum.

Yelp
This used to be my go to place, but after going there for lunch last month, I have decided that I will take a break. Why? Because we paid over $63 (not including tip) for three dimsum dishes, a bowl of wonton noodles with a few pieces of roast duck and a bowl of beef brisket and rice noodles soup. Basically we were over-charged. My astute husband always felt the prices were higher than their competitors, but this last visit really convinced me that we had been over- charged.

Yelp
Horrible food and poor service! I am from Seattle so the dimsum is way way below the standard quality. 20% tip is automatically added to the bill with 5 people.

Yelp
Omg what's with all the low reviews? Ordered takeout dimsum on a Saturday after craving it for so long: we ordered SO MUCH FOOD. Especially with our large order it's hard for all of it to be piping hot fresh, but it still came in great condition and delicious. With the order they provided a container of dipping/soy sauce. So I suggest you have your own sauces at home depending on your personal preferences. Here's the list of the order and what I thought of it: Har Gow - a dim sum must-have (these are my FAVORITE) Shu Mai - another must-have. Scallop / Shrimp Dumpling Steam Spare Rib - these were okay, don't think they were my fave Pork Beancurd Wrap Shrimp Rice Crepe - must-have. VK was a bit heavy on the rice crepe, could have been a lil less of it, or more shrimp for each one. BBQ Pork Rice Crepe - don't need to get both ^ imo. Steam Chicken Bun - oooh these were delicious Sticky Rice Lotus Wrap - must-have . these were sooooo good XO Turnip Cake - My favorite - a MUST TRY, especially if you like turnip cake in general (these ones come in cubes, like cut tofu - excellent sauce) Taro Dumpling Stuffed Eggplant - sooo good. was nice to have some veggie with all the shrimp + meat dishes Fried Crab Claw Shrimp in tofu skin - was not my favorite Beef Tripe Shanghai Pork Dumpling - YUMMMM Custard Bun - was an excellent dessert to end with
