"Vinnie’s has been a go-to for steakhouse fare with an Italian twist for more than 35 years. Steak options include a bacon-wrapped filet mignon, New York strip, flat iron, or Delmonico style ribeye, with classic sauces and toppings available. Turn dinner into a surf and turf with a lobster tail, grilled mahi mahi, or fried shrimp. There are Italian-American staples like chicken parmesan, shrimp scampi, and meatball marinara on the menu, along with an extensive list of shareable steakhouse sides like baked potatoes, creamed spinach, and lobster mac and cheese." - Matt Lardie

The calamari was perfectly cooked, crispy, and flavorful. The steak was incredibly tender and buttery, cooked just right. The atmosphere was ideal for a company meeting: upscale yet comfortable, with attentive service that didn’t interrupt the flow of conversation. Highly recommend for both business and pleasure.

My husband and I had a date night to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a lovely time. I highly recommend the crab dip and the duck fat mushrooms! And the limoncello cheesecake is to fantastic.

Went here with some friends for dinner. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The waitress was really good. The atmosphere and decor is so so. Wife is gluten free and they were pretty knowledgeable on that aspect. Had spinach dip and calamari for apps, both were delicious. I had the filet and lobster tail which was very good, steak and lobster tail were cooked perfectly. Wife had the Salmon which was overcooked as well as her risotto. The bill was pretty high, we had a couple of cocktails and it was north of 300.00. Between the overcooked meal and the atmosphere, it brought the rating down to 3 stars.

My wife and I had dinner last night to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience. Our server, Valentina, was very friendly and on-the-ball at all times. They first brought out the complimentary starter deviled eggs, which we found delicious and unique. We began with an order of the okra which is only in-season at this time of year. The portion was huge, so plan to share; the picture below shows an almost half-eaten portion. Being from NC, I consider myself an okra aficionado, and this is the best I have ever eaten. Then we shared the Beefsteak Tomato special, which was very fresh, unique, and wonderful. I had the Delmonico steak -- prepared and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of crust on the surface of the steak. Since it was my Birthday, they offered me a complimentary dessert, and I chose their Blueberry Crostini. Chef Tom Armstrong came out to chat with us, answered all my wife's questions about how he makes the okra, and he shared how he visits the Farmers Market to pick out the vegetables personally. He came back out after they delivered the Crostini to see how I liked it. We had a fantastic time. This is a very special place for special occasions.

We’ve lived here for 10 years and we have been to several steakhouses over the years, but had never been to Vinnie’s. Having said that I have had several people rave about it, so I reserved a table for my parents and my family. The atmosphere and service are okay. It’s got an old time steakhouse feel inside, but it cannot hide that it’s in a small strip mall. Server was nice, but could tell our food sat for a while because my steak was borderline cold. Lastly, the food was not good for the price. $67 for a 12oz Ribeye that was just average. My dad got the 16oz Strip for $62. If you’re charging $60-$70 for a steak it better be the best steak in the area. This food is about 30% too high. If the steak was $30-$40, I wouldn’t be as harsh, but those prices are just bananas for that kind of quality. My wife’s Chicken Piccata lacked any flavor and the chicken was like rubber. I am very happy for all the people that love this place, and I hope you enjoy it for years to come, but I cannot recommend. I felt as if I got fleeced for $400. Do not go here if you’re looking for prices that match the quality. Sorry.

My husband an I went here for our 5 years wedding anniversary. Let just say I was so disappointed to say the least the restaurant is small, dark, gloomy and very outdated. The service was meh not what you’d expect for the price you’re paying. When I looked their menu over I wanted to get up and leave. The prices are high but we could’ve paid a little more and went to Ruth Chris or capital and got a far better atmosphere service and steak portion and flavor. The chicken Marsala tasted way better than my $100 20oz ribeye. I was so disappointed. The waiter kept calling us kiddos and he took a few pictures and said a curse word which we are ppl who do not use profane language. The chef comes out to speak once you get your meal but we didn’t know who he was as he didn’t introduce his self and neither did the servers. and he didn’t have good table side manners. He was very dry. We paid $189 for a bland ribeye steak and two chicken cutlets over linguine half of a potato and fried calamari oh and one cream soda. The twice baked potato was $10 for half a potato stuffed with bland chunky mashed potatoes. I paid $6 for garlic butter and $8 for chimichurri this place is for locals who grew up in the area not for a special occasion I’m just so up set I didn’t go to a better place I can make a better steak at home.

Very disappointing meal. The decor at Vinnies has been outdated for a long time, but the quality of food always made up for the lack of updates. This past visit was a disappointment. The hostess was dressed in a t-shirt with with some type of slogan on it. She was also very unfriendly. The prime rib had no seasoning and had a piece of gristle running through it that was so tough you couldn’t even cut it with a knife. The pasta dish was ok on flavor but was served lukewarm. Dessert was described as warm pecan pie with homemade ice cream. The pie was cold and the crust was so hard I couldn’t cut it with my knife.

Google
Very rude hostess greeted us with the news that we would be on the patio in 90 degree heat. Yes, we did have reservations. No, we did not request the patio when we made reservations. When we asked to be seated inside, the same hostess placed us at the worst table in the restaurant, right by the kitchen. This was with 80 percent of the restaurant unoccupied. When we left the restaurant, the same hostess could not be bothered to look up from her phone when she mumbled her farewell. Food was adequate, the waiter nice but inefficient. Have been going to Vinnie's for years; back in the day they knew us by name. I do not plan to bring guests back.

Yelp
Best steak dinner iv had in years! (this is for you uber driver 'Tim' lol) Quick backstory... in Raleigh for a work conference, read many reviews and many 'best steak in Raleigh' lists before choosing Vinnies. Expectations were high, Vinnie's did not disappoint! Ribeye was cooked perfectly (medium rare), fried lobster was delicious, chimmichurri sauce tasted authentic, and had 2 delicious sides: Creamed Spinach and Smoked Gouda Potato Gratin. Wow!!!! Its was the perfect meal!! Cherry on top: my waiter/bartender gave great suggestions and treated me like a longtime regular, and one of the chefs , chef Tom? I think was his name, came out and asked me how was everything. JUST A FANTASTIC DINNER AND A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Janet C.

Yelp
A good steakhouse but definitely dated. The menu is old fashioned for sure. The presentation of the fried shrimp was pretty bizarre for us. I thought the steak was awesome but my husband wasn't feeling it. Service is wonderful. Our waiter was very personable and friendly and helpful. We hated the baked oysters. It was just such a strange flavor for us. I'd come back but would stick to steak and maybe the mushroom. Vinnie's has a cozy and warm feel to it. Great bread and soup as well.

Yelp
Vinnie's Steak & Tavern serves some of the best steaks I've ever had--truly next level. Perfectly seared on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with a flavor that speaks to the quality of the meat and expert preparation. You can tell they take pride in sourcing and cooking their steaks right. The sides were the perfect complement, and the ambiance struck just the right balance between cozy and upscale. If you're serious about a great steak, Vinnie's is the place to go!

Chris H.

Yelp
My brother in law, nephew, my son and I had an awesome meal last week at Vinnie's. This was my second time here and the food, service and ambiance were spot on. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. The steaks were cooked to order, the oysters were fresh, the apps were delicious and the drinks were great. Definitely keep Vinnie's on your list when in Raleigh. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Ambience small dark romantic setting with a small bar area . There was a lot of older people there and you know they know where the good food is at . We were not dissatisfied everything from service to food was great . The butternut squash soup was perfect balance of sweetness my baby devoured it . The crab dip with chips is a must and the steak and lobster was cooked perfect. Potatoes au gratin were good big serving for all of us . Not on the menu clam chowder and Valentine's Day dessert the brownie was a little hard and cold would have loved a warm brownie with the I believe it was mocha ice cream topped with marshmallow fluff and raspberry side . We will be saving this spot but maybe next time we will leave the little one at home to enjoy a cocktail or two after .

Yelp
This is my father's favorite restaurant. Every time I visit we make a point to stop by. The vibe is old-school supper club steakhouse. It has an excellent wine menu, which is a big part of the appeal for my father in particular. Tuesdays and Thursdays are half-price bottles. Plus you can also bring a bottle from home if you would like something specific that they do not have. I've been here many times, although I do not typically eat red meat, there are many options on the menu for me. Big recommendations for me personally are the calamari, ahi tuna, and salmon. Although, if I could only eat one thing off this menu, it would most certainly be the duck fat mushrooms. These are hands-down, one of the best things I've ever eaten. I also thoroughly enjoyed the au gratin potatoes. The service here is insanely good. They knew our names and used them throughout our service. It feels like the perfect hometown restaurant, with a high-end experience attached.

Yelp
Returned to Vinnie's on Saturday for date night to get our eat and drink on! We were impressed, as expected. Greeted warmly by bartender extraordinaire Jules at the bar, our seat were reserved and waiting for us. Bar was full, other patrons were friendly - as usual. There are a few TVs at the bar but, they are not obnoxious; you don't feel like you're in a sports bar. Enjoyed complimentary bread and deviled eggs. I love deviled eggs! I quickly devoured the savory French onion soup. The beef broth was hearty, not salty. Hubby chose the Caesar salad, 86'ing the anchovies. Our dinners arrived and they looked gorgeous and tasted even better! Hubby had fried jumbo shrimp. He raved about it. I had a rare petite filet with loaded sweet potato. The steak was an excellent cut. It's peppery seasoning did not disappoint. The sweet potato was gargantuan! Loaded with butter, brown sugar, and maybe a hint of cinnamon. It significantly increased my fiber intake for the week Chef Tom came through to inquire about our meals. I really appreciate his level of service. I am confident that he'd fulfill any request if I had one. We passed on dessert but, were offered Andes chocolate mints with our check. They hit the spot. No need to ask: YES, I'm going back! See you soon, Jules and Chef Tom!

Yelp
My husband took me to the restaurant for our early Christmas dinner We've dined at a lot of upscale restaurants in the past but Vinnie's Steakhouse is in a league of their own!!! Customer servicr was outstanding!!!! VERY ATTENTIVE!!!!! The food was delicious but I'm a customer service girl and they nailed it in that category as well!! If you visit this restaurant you will NOT be DISAPPOINTED!!! 10/10!!! Great first time experience!!!

Yelp
Had dinner at Vinnie's Steakhouse in Raleigh, and it's clear this place tops the local steakhouse scene. Don't expect lavish surroundings; instead, Vinnie's charms with its neighborhood vibe, matched by service and food that outshine the fanciest spots around. The service transported us back to a time where every diner feels like the guest of honor. Our meal kicked off with amazing appetizers, an incredible wedge salad, followed by generous drinks, a standout ahi tuna, and a strip steak that was in a league of its own. Vinnie's is the kind of place that should be bustling every evening, offering top-notch food and service that's hard to come by these days. If you're after the best steak and service in Raleigh, Vinnie's might just be the place to be. Definitely try it out!

Ben A.

Yelp
Dare I say it? Best steak in Raleigh. Perfectly-seasoned, immaculate char, every time. Sides are great and gigantic. Service is excellent (shoutout to Scott the MAN). Nice setting that is unique from the overhyped chain steakhouses that plague the area.

LB B.

Yelp
Best Mahi Mahi I have had anywhere! I know it's a steak house and the steaks are excellent, pricey, but excellent. Hubby had the filet and it was excellent, as was the hash browns and duck fat mushrooms. The shinning star, to me, was the grilled Mahi Mahi on the potato hash and asparagus. Superb! Excellent service from Valitina! Always timely without being intrusive. Always a please experience and don't forget 1/2 price wine on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!

Yelp
Very very good as Tabitha Brown would say. The complimentary deviled eggs! Yes, please! Bread and butter were good. I had a iceberg wedge salad but ate it too fast to get a picture. Like their twist on it--which were two beefsteak tomatoes that you cut up yourself. I really enjoyed the salad with fresh cracked pepper. Now to the main dish, my petite ribeye! Yum yum yum. Very seasoned. If you just like meat with salt and pepper, this ain't it. I loved my steak. The fatty parts were everything. French fries fresh cut...delicious. No need to order a side if you get a salad because your steak comes with sweet potato chips. I didn't even wind up trying mine. I visited on a Thursday which is half off bottles of wine. I ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Delicious and they cork for you! Definitely will visit again if in the area! You can tell it's the place to be.

PJ B.

Yelp
Started with Old Fashioneds and Martinis... perfect. Then added tuna, onion rings, and crab... again perfect. Caprese and wedge salads followed and the wine flowed. Delmonico ribeyes and filet mignons showed up with mushroom, spinach and mac n cheese. We finished a 3rd bottle of wine as we forked our way through multiple desserts. Service was fantastic. We will be back!

Yelp
We flew in to surprise my brother for his 50th. Vinnie's steakhouse was awesome from the first day we made our reservation. They didn't hesitate to help us make it a wonderful evening for him. I regretfully did not get the young lady's name at the front desk, but she was so sweet. Our busser was always smiling and on top of everything. And our waiter, Omar, was top notch. Everybody at this restaurant was very attentive and kind. Highly recommend it. Oh, and the food was amazing.!!!

Sammy R.

Yelp
This place I recommend it it was the first steakhouse place I took my wife in our anniversary. The steaks are amazing and so seasoned . I recommend this place to any couple

Samantha W.

Yelp
Came here with my dad, bro, and husband. I thought the food was superb. We started with crab dip and oysters. Both of these were DELICIOUS. I got the ribeye and we got the duck fat mushrooms, fries, and potato gratin. Everything was so flavorful and great portions. We were so happy after this meal. The atmosphere is a little dim and classy. Very nice. Our service was also great. Very quick, nice, and efficient service. Overall, everything was great!

Yelp
Ok guys, I know what you're thinking. Werent you just at the Capital grille? Yes, but the other night I met Vinnie's. Next time I meet Vinnie, I'm bringing Amanda. So she can see how great I was treated the other night. I started off with a honeydew cocktail. Yo, it was packed with alcohol, I felt tipsy after one drink. That's how you know, you're getting what you paid for. I started off my appetizer with beer battered onion rings, and their famous crab dip. Now, I know why this crab dip is famous. It was so creamy and delicious. I could eat a whole pot. I had so many leftovers, and they were just as good the next day. I ordered their burrata salad, which is my favorite salad ever. The mozzarella was delicious, I only had one thing to say about this. The tomato ratio was higher than the cheese. And we all know how much I hold cheese dear to my heart. So, I wish the slices were a tad bigger, but nothing to complain about. For my entree, I had the queen filet, ordered medium rare. This was perfect. The steak was finely seasoned, I felt like salt bae personally seasoned that steak, that's how good it was. OH AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE MAC AND CHEESE. That was perfectly crusted, cooked, and served. I would go to Vinnie's just for a side of Mac and cheese. You need to try it because you'll feel so good eating it. Also, our waiter was so nice and kind. I mentioned to him about how much I love crème brûlée, and he gave me one for free for celebration. That made me personally want to go back into the kitchen, throw a chef hat on, and get to work. I couldn't have asked for better service. Honestly, Vinnies did me so right, and I will definitely be back soon, with Amanda of course. Because this is a fine dining experience if you ever asked for one. Make an RSVP for Vinnie's right now.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Vinnie's for many years, but have to share my most recent visit. My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and our waitress Shannon went out of her way to make our special night Perfect. But that's not all...as Tom Armstrong, the chef, not only gave us the perfect meal, and even took time to come to our table and wish us a happy anniversary. It was a perfect dinner with an Ambiance and Overall experience that we will cherish forever. Regardless if you're just looking for a great meal with friends, family or celebrating a special day like us....Vinnie's Steak House and Tavern is shoulders above everyone else. On a scale of 1-10, we give Vinnie's a solid 15...you will too. My warmest thanks to Shannon and Tom for making our special day even more special. The food and wine was fantastic....but the warmth you share will make us patrons for life All the Best...Larry and Sheila

Yelp
A little bummed to write this because it's long been a favorite, but a couple of issues will make me think twice about returning. First, the prices are now the highest in the Triangle especially for steak, and the quality just doesn't justify it. My NY strip wasn't prime, nor dry aged, and it was $80 a la carte. Price aside it was good not great and it was overcooked two grades and had to be redone. 6oz filet for $57? Just basic rolls for a bread basket? At least they still have good deviled eggs. Drinks at this spot are always great, and the service always bumps things a star. At these prices it's no longer a must visit.

Tracy B.

Yelp
Fried Lobster was the special for the night. This dish was AMAZING and I've been telling all my friends about it.

John R.

Yelp
Very few old school Steak Houses in Raleigh. We went for our wedding anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Chef makes fresh desserts daily.

Ted G.

Yelp
Being located in a strip mall, I would have never guessed this would be one of Raleigh's original steakhouses. Upon walking in the front door, I immediately recognized the slightly dated decor throughout the bar and dining room and immediately associated this with an old school steakhouse. The bar is quite small to begin with and seemed much busier than the dining room, we were able to find an open table for two and ordered our drinks. I was not overly impressed with the wine menu, I did however find a quality bottle of wine. I would have expected a more intimate feel to this restaurant's bar. Based on first impressions we are still not sure whether we will choose to dine here yet or not. Cheers!

Eric B.

Yelp
Good is amazing and service is great. A true old fasioned steak house. You can get escargot if you order ahead of time and it was amazing.

Dale D.

Yelp
Vinnies is not a fine dining restaurant. It is an epic dining experience of Gustatory Delights and decadent pleasures of sizzling, appetite inducing, succulent dishes, savory flavors and stimulating aromas that immerse you in a culinary adventure "from soup to nuts". I submit that Vinnies should be on your bucket list for special occasions and for those times of earned rewards in cuisine. Vinnie's Steakhouse and Tavern is one of North Carolina's premiere destinations for fine dining in the Triangle since 1987.  Vinnies is independently owned and operated, Vinnie's proudly serves up a selection of Certified Angus Beef in a variety of cuts and sizes, featuring Prime New York Strips, Dry Aged Ribeyes and a Bone-In Filet Mignon which are exclusive cuts to Vinnie's. Vinnie's also offers the freshest seafood available, including our Jumbo Cold Water Lobster tails, classic Italian fare, Farmer's Market vegetables and delectible homemade desserts. You must experience Vinnies impressive display of their well stocked wine cellar houses which is an extensive selection of wines from around the world and serves as a centerpiece of intimate and elegant dining room. White linen, vintage leather chairs and sparkling crystal will set your dining experience and mood for a more than memorable dining experience, no matter what the occasion. For those truly exceptional occasions, Vinnie's has three private rooms to host your very special events for groups of 10-50 and limited banquet packages are available for groups of 16 or more. I highly recommend Vinnies to anyone who wants to make the journey through their doorway to one of the Old North State's truly memorable dining extravaganzas. You simply must do it today with a proper reservation, of course so you can enjoy Vinnies delicacies to your heart's content. What are you waiting for? If a formal setting is what you want and desire, then Vinnie's Tavern offers a delicious full dinner menu, as well as a more casual Tavern menu. Vinnies intimate covered patio is perfect for any season, equipped with heaters and ceiling fans offers fabulous outdoor dining nearly year-round. Vinnies is in a forward looking and ever-changing selection of fine wines by the glass, premium bourbons and single malt scotches,a unique cocktail menu and a wide array of local NC beers, domestic and imported specialty beers ensures a special signature libation to suit every discriminating palate. Please do plan on making Vinnies your destination for your next night out on the town. I also highly recommend that you deliriously consider letting Vinnie's Steak House and Tavern become a tradition with you, your family, friends, and business associates.

Yelp
I must say the quality of food for an incredibly expensive meal was not very good. I ordered the Sea Scallops and told my waiter that I didn't like the taste, my son's steak was not worth $72 and found service to average for a $500 plus meal for five people. They never once offered to take my Scollops off my bill, so I will not be going back for a very long time. If your looking for top quality food and service this is not he place! Very disappointing evening and more disappointed they didn't seem to care.

Zeta B.

Yelp
Came here for my friend birthday & had a great time. Service was great took kind of long. Friendly staff but very busy. Deviled eggs was good, bread was delicious, best oysters I ever had & their chicken parmigiana was jus okay. I will say the lobster tail was very big, juicy & tender just how I like it yummy!

Lexi M.

Yelp
Vinnie's has the shwaest steak in the triangle. It's way too pricy but it's also so flavorful and juicy. I would say the ribeye is the best out of all the options. And the crab dip appetizer is a must as well. This time me and my mom went on a Tuesday and they have 50% off any bottle of wine! Our waiter, Omar, was super kind and caring as well. The only (insignificant) complaint I have is that we didn't get the bread that they usually bring out, and the check took a long time to come out.

Sara Z.

Yelp
Fellow Yelper Dale D. captured everything we felt about this dining experience, but in a much more articulate way than I could ever write. I have been wanting to try this spot out for a while and finally got the opportunity to last night. Wow! It was wonderful. My only complaint is we have lived here for 6 months and just now went! But that's all behind us. From the start the restaurant impressed me, from making the reservation, to being greeted by the lovely hostess, the service and the food. Wow. The smoked Gouda au gratin side is what sweet dreams are made of (now I'll be singing this song all day!). The steak was really delicious and cooked perfectly. This will 100% will be our go to steakhouse in the future.

Tom I.

Yelp
We came for dinner with 3 couples. The food was very good Steak was cooked to order. What brought the review down was the service. Our waiter was attentive but the wait for our entrees and dessert was ridiculous. We order coffee to go with dessert. We got the coffee well before the dessert showed up. It was a Tuesday night and not super busy. It made no sense for the delay in getting food to the table. Even running our cards took an inordinate amount of time Very disappointing for a restaurant with such high ratings. I will certainly rethink coming back

Pamela F.

Yelp
We booked The Chamber, a private dining room at Vinnie's, to celebrate after my daughter and son-in-law's intimate wedding. When I was looking for a place to host this event, I left several messages and sent a couple of emails to several establishments. Vinnie's was the first to respond, long before other restaurants in this price range. After reviewing the menu, the Bride & Groom felt Vinnie's matched their expectations the most. I chose them because they booked the room without asking me to fill out any forms, put down a hefty deposit, or meet a tacky "minimum" tab. When you are expecting to pay at least a $100 per person tab, are minimums really necessary? I think not. Way to be easy to work with, Vinnie's! I was very impressed by this dining experience. We had a total of 11 people in our party. The room was warmly decorated and spacious enough that our dinner party didn't feel over-crowded. An unexpected bonus was that it had access to a private washroom. Our server, Stephen, was just amazing. His wit & knowledge of the menu made ordering easy and fun. Thanks, Stephen -- you were a joy to work with! You never made us feel rushed or neglected. The food was exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I ordered the bone-in filet with a lobster tail and I was so impressed! The lobster tail was huge and it practically melted in my mouth. The sides we ordered were also delish. Speaking of sides, the smoked gouda potato is out of this world! Hats off to the chef for a deliciously prepared meal! We did enjoy a few drinks and cocktails as well. Again, this is where Vinnie's ability to accommodate was very much appreciated. We had a few people in our party that needed something non-alcoholic for the wedding toast, and although they didn't keep stock anything, they allowed us to bring in a bottle of sparkling juice. The small corking fee was worth it to not have our guests feel excluded. They also accommodated a couple other unusual requests due to diet and preference. OVERALL -- Vinnie's was amazing! I highly recommend them for their food, service, and ambiance!

Yelp
Vinnies is our go to local spot for date night!!!Food is always delicious, atmosphere is always pleasant and staff is kind and on top of things!

Kelly U.

Yelp
We tried it for the first time. Loved it! Food - fantastic. I ordered the filet Oscar style and my husband got the ribeye. Both steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The side dishes are a huge portion. We could have easily shared. The desserts are made in house. We went with the feature dessert of apple beignets with cinnamon ice cream...swoon! Ordered drinks from the bar. Drink wasn't watered down and great wine selection. Staff - everyone was really friendly. Our waitress was great. Overall - restaurant and bathrooms were really clean. It's was easy to grab a reservation and the food was great. It wasn't a cheap dinner/date night but it was worth the money.

Kelly C.

Yelp
A pic is worth a thousand words. Best Bacon wrapped filet around and even better company. Cheers.

Johnette R.

Yelp
I chose this place because it was on open table and had a reservation available during the time I needed. The decor is dim and could use some updating. The table comes with deviled eggs (2) and apparently bread and butter which came after the appetizers. I ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were over-breaded and mediocre. I ordered the flounder and it was almost like breaded fish from a box I had the lemon aioli for a side sauce and it super thick in texture. Not exactly what I was thinking it would be. My date had the fish of the night and it was better than mine but not a memorizing after taste. The scallop potatoes was also BLAH. I got it to go in hopes of the leftovers being better the next day...put it in the office microwave, go to take a seat, then I hear a weird noise (but it was a familiar sound from my childhood of finding out what NOT to put in a microwave). I run to the microwave and it was literally a flame inside. Apparently this restaurant wraps your leftovers in aluminum foil ‍ like never have I ever had this happen. They indubitably wrapped the fish and even the dang potatoes. (I would've knocked a star for this but I reviewed based on taste) In other news, my waiter looked like Will Ferrel

Yelp
Protein and signature cocktails are not cheap but worth the $83 bill I paid. Went here alone while doing business in Raleigh. This place really recharged my batteries. My mood did a 180 by the time I left. Felt great. The waitresses are really attractive and like to flirt. One of them actually wrote her number on my receipt. Makes me feel like I still got it. More flattery in one steak house in the Raleigh-Durham area than I've gotten from my wife for the last two years. This place lost a star because it made me realize that I can't reconcile things with my estranged wife Rachel Ruebens. If you're thinking you want to leave your wife or want the temptation to, Vinnie's is a great place to start.

Yelp
The filet was okay but not as spectacular as anticipated. I've had better and more flavorful filets at a chain steakhouse actually. Sides were the same with the exception of the potato au gratin. The Gouda added delicious flavor. Creamed spinach tasted canned to me. Sides served family style which is nice for sharing. Our service was awful. Our waiter, Hank, was quite rude and unresponsive. Our misfortune to have him as a server as other waitresses who stopped by our table seemed nicer and were certainly more attentive to our table. I was very disappointed. Overall impression is save your money. Not worth it. My advice to Vinnie's you need to freshen up those side dishes and retrain or get rid of Hank!

Yelp
From the beginning to the end, this meal was spectacular! We started with oysters on the half shell and octopus. Both of these appetizers were great. They were some of the best oysters I have ever had. Then we split the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. For our main courses, we got the queen filet mignon and the prime rib. The sauces were really a cherry on top of the perfectly cooked steaks. This was my first dining experience at Vinnie's but it will Not be my last!

Yelp
Last night we went out to celebrate my birthday, and the chef prepared a mini appetizer with a grilled shrimp glazed with strawberry jam, sprinkled with some white cheese. The presentation was impeccable and by far the most elegant piece of shrimp I've seen. I would never thought a grilled shrimp would paired up so well with strawberry sauce. I ordered the filet Mignon and it was cooked just right. I cut into the filet and it was so soft, it melted in my mouth. We ordered the sautéed spinach and mashed sweet potatoes. I have never tried mashed sweet potatoes before and it was so good! The side items are very large in portions to share. The sautéed spinach was done just right and it was not soggy at all. For my birthday, I had a complimentary dessert of my choice. The desert was enough to share with my friends. What left a good impression at the end of the meal was when the chef came out and greeted us by asking how our dining experience was. We told him the food was perfection! The chef taking the time out and chat with the customers was a plus! I would really recommend Vinnie's steakhouse to anyone that would like a good steak meal. We never felt rushed at all.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE!!!! Tuesday is 1/2 price wine too. We had the tuna and split a steak with those amazing potatoes that come out looking like a cake. Freaking amazing! Like #3 or #4 best meals of my life.

Yelp
I'm honestly appalled at my experience here at this fancy steak house. I made reservations for my gfs bday but still we don't get any service for more than 15 min after being seated. 3 other servers (not ours) noticed and finally notified our server. Then she brings us two deviled eggs (not ordered), but no bread! Their menu has about half a page of entree options, while half of those are marked (market price). We got the salmon and she brought out these two tiny slivers of Salmon both of which tasted like frozen old stinky fish. 2 bites and it was gone. We also got their special side of duck fat roasted mushrooms which was also completely sub par. My red wine was served in a white wine glass and unable to aerate. For a place to charge rip off prices for quarter portions, the service and atmosphere better be exceptional. I should have gone to the peddler and had some real quality meat / service. All I can hope to do with this review is deter anyone who is looking for a good steak house. Longhorn would have been a better option hands down. Disappointed is an understatement.

Yelp
Can I give 6 stars, 7....8? Holy cow, this place is on point. You get what you pay for here and it was worth EVERY PENNY. Service was on point, food was delicious and perfectly cooked. It's not an every Friday night type of place, but celebrate something special here....like Thursday.

Yelp
Grateful for the opportunity to give Vinnie's a try, but likely won't return. Not because I didn't enjoy the service or food, but simply because the experience as a whole didn't impress me. Full disclosure, this very well could be the millennial in me. The atmosphere felt very dated, drowsy, and stiff. The decor is fairly classic of a steakhouse - leather chairs, brass light fixtures, white linen tablecloths. The wine cellar is the restaurant centerpiece. Vinnie's is spacious enough to accommodate private parties of 10-50 and they accept reservations. Our server was great, no complaints there. She even remembered the lemons I requested which seems to always be forgotten elsewhere. I appreciated the small gestures and attention to detail, such as clearing spilled crumbs from the tablecloth when clearing plates. Vinnie's is well known for it's Certified Angus Beef as well as seafood. I opted for the popular bacon wrapped filet, as did my partner. Unfortunately my steak was overcooked and his was undercooked. Fortunately, it was easy enough for us to swap and move on with it. For a $40 steak at a 30+ year staple steakhouse, however, I would have expected the steaks to be cooked as requested. That being said, it was a good steak. The wine list had some variety, primarily from California, France or Italy. They had a decent selection of craft beer available, and the craft cocktails sounded unique. Overall, I enjoyed the evening but have my eyes on other updated, lively steakhouses if I'm in the mood for steak.

Yelp
We really wanted to like this place. It has a great atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately the food didn't deliver. We ordered a delmonico ribeye and it was one of the worst steaks I have ever had in my life. It was also $98 which is significantly higher than all the other steakhouses in the area. Chewy, gristly, and flavorless. We had to get hollandaise just to make it edible, and they charged us an additional $12 for that. I just feel $400 for 2 people to have an Outback Steakhouse quality dinner is outrageous. Such a waste of money and I doubt we will be back. The only thing that was truly amazing was their oysters rockefeller and their wine list. Dessert was ok.

Yelp
Very disappointed with Vinnie's. We went last night for our anniversary. Our waiter was excellent and the sides were great, but we both ordered the Prime Rib (on special Saturdays) and it was like chewing through a rubber tire. For $55 a cut, it should have been spectacular and it was anything but. Won't be returning.

Yelp
Came here for my cousins birthday dinner. Great ambience. Feels very Rat Pack era. Great music playing, Ella and Frank the food was amazing. All the sides were delicious and my prime rib (only served on weekends) was absolutely perfect. Great wine list and dessert menu, too!! They aren't in a hurry, but neither were we.

Yelp
We've been here twice, once last year for our anniversary, and this year for my birthday. The service was fabulous. Every single thing was really delicious. I had the house salad which was great, scallops and fresh made potato chips (they call cottage fries). Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had a steak with a huge baked potato also cooked and seasoned perfectly. Just a great place if you want to celebrate something special.

Yelp
DO NOT GO - Crab cakes are lumps of bread crumbs - I had to de-vein my shrimp cocktail - Drinks were 20 min's late - Scallops were so salty the were inedible - NY Strip had whip marks on it. Trust me. - I was raised in Chicago - I know steaks.  - I've lived on the east coast, I know seafood. This place ain't either one despite Open Table and other ratings.

Yelp
Took one star off due to ambience. If I was just rating the food it would be an easy 5 star! Service was also excellent. Steaks and sides were all cooked perfect and delicious. It's the best steak I have in years and way better than Ruth Chris and angus barn. Neither of those can hold a close second to Vinnie's. Definitely go if you like great tasting food.
