While visiting Eataly’s store to shop, we made reservations for Vino & inside the Eataly Chicago. Our time was for 1:30PM and we got there a little early, but they took us right away, even though they were busy. Our server, Brian was great… Very helpful and attentive. I had questions about wine and he did a little checking with others to get the answers I needed. He also did a great job explaining the way various items were prepared. We started with their focaccia, which was made fresh to order and was incredibly soft, tasty, and came with a nice, light EVOO to dip into. Next up was a Margherita pizza, which came out with little delay and was beautiful! The flavors were great and it had a nice, slight char to parts of the crust. The toppings were great and the sauce was very fresh and flavorful. We really loved it! For an entrée we split their tagliatelle Bolognese… it was the perfect amount to split (especially for lunch). The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was excellent! A friend of ours joined us and got the branzino, which he loved… I tried it and it was really fresh and tasty. The service was beautifully plated! Food and service was great… prices were decent… Definitely worth stopping in!!

We used to go here last year and me and my husband loved the hanger steak w the arugula salad. Today we were excited to come back for it but they changed to new york strip and potatoes, and the steak was bad. I hope they put back the hanger steak again w the arugula salad.

I really wanted to say something nice about this place, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. We ordered the fried calamari, which was overly greasy and lacked seasoning. The accompanying sauce was plain and unremarkable. The chicken milanese we ordered was almost burnt, making it difficult to enjoy. The pizza was okay; the dough was nice, but it lacked flavor and didn't stand out. The drinks were also nothing special. Overall, the food was overpriced for what we received. I hope they can improve in the future.

I have been to close to a dozen Eataly restaurants across several of their locations. I had never had a bad experience until visiting Vino &. I was several minutes early for my reservation and the first member of my party to arrive. The place was EMPTY (maybe 2-3 parties were seated) and yet the hostess would not seat me until I gave her the exact number of minutes in which the rest of my party would arrive (they were only a few minutes away, as I initially tried to tell her). She then seated me with lunch menus (it was 5:00pm). I asked our server for the happy hour menu, as that was our purpose for going. He said that he wasn't aware of a happy hour, so I showed him the happy hour menu that had just been posted to their website a month before. He then disappeared for 5+ minutes before bringing me back a happy hour menu with only food; I asked about the drink specials that were listed on the menu on their website (this menu included cocktails that were not listed on the main menu we were given). He then brought over his manager, who had a copy of the food-only happy hour menu in his hand with two of the drink specials hand-written on it in pink gel pen. My response was "as long as you are honoring the prices listed on your website, that's fine with us." Instead of ending the conversation there, the manager began arguing with me saying that the menu in his hand (the one with the clearly just-written drink specials) was the same menu from their website (it was clearly not) and saying that he didn't understand why I was upset (I genuinely was not upset until this point). After he finally left us alone, we nonetheless decided to stay, only to have the server walk away from our table while we were still in the middle of ordering, not once, but TWICE. The only saving grace is that the drinks and appetizers we ordered were very good. But the staff was hopelessly disorganized and quite rude. Extremely disappointing. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

The fried calamari was perfect! lightly fried and tender pieces. I also had the gnocchi which was great too! Definitely coming back soon!

Great experience from food to service. Derrick was fantastic and gave great suggestions and options from apps to mains to drinks. Very friendly and charismatic and made the experience that much better. Will be back when back in Chicago.

Derrick G was amazingly welcoming. I had such a wonderful time on my birthday. They blessed me so many ways. The panna cotta was BOMB filled with flavor and berries. The kids and I all enjoyed (fighted) over sharing. The whole team was A+! Highly recommend.

Can’t get enough of this place!!!! 100 wines by the glass is a lot of homework buuuuuut it means I have many reasons to come back! Full table service or walk up table service means you’re always going to be eating soon 😮‍💨

Yelp
My family and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night during the summer. We were going to eat at one of the other restaurants within Eataly, but they had a super long wait. Vino had a very similar menu, so we decided to give it a try since it's open seating. The tables are super tiny and we were worried about food falling the entire meal. We ordered the verde salad to start. Nothing was super special about this, but I did like the watermelon radish. We also got the Nerano pizza, which had zucchini. The pizza was super soggy and just not right. We also got the tagliolini al limone pasta. I liked the slight lemon flavor of this pasta. All of the portions were small and so overpriced for what we got. We also ordered a wine flight, which came after the food came. Service was pretty bad and restaurant just seemed unorganized.

Yelp
My family and I went to Vino & for dinner and had a great experience. The service was fast and friendly, the wine options were plentiful and the quality of all the pasta and pizza dishes we tried were great. Punctuating this, the prices were quite good and nothing felt much pricier than any number of chain Italian restaurants. My only critique is that I do believe the ambiance of Vino & was not particularly spectacular. It was situated between another restaurant and the center of the second floor of Eataly which was a bit awkward. Overall, however, really great. Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Value: 5/5 Consistency: N/A

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Eataly in Chicago! It's a huge and has a grocery, wine, food stalls, desserts, fresh pasta and breads, etc! We stopped by Eataly and were so surprised by all the offerings. We decided to eat at Vino &, which is located upstairs. It's an open restaurant surrounded by other restaurants and food stalls with fresh offerings. Our server explained items come out at different times since different stalls make the food. The menu has wine, antipasti, pizza, and pasta offerings. We started with cocktails and wine. Warning - this place is on the pricey side! I ordered the sparking wine flight for $25 and was surprised by the amount and the different types of wine I was offered. Would recommend if you like sparking and want to try something different. Food - We started with the burrata ($23) and focaccia ($8). It was beautiful and so delicious. We ended up ordering another focaccia, because it was small and the best focaccia I've ever had! It was light and fluffy and paired perfectly with the burrata. For our entrees, my friends ordered the Cavolo Nero salad ($19) with added chicken. The portion was large, but they didn't love the protein. I chose the Tagliolini al Limone ($22) and loved the fresh pasta and bright flavor of the lemon zest and basil. A delightful, but expensive meal. Would highly encourage you to check out Eatlaly!

Yelp
A true 3.5 rating. It was a packed night, but we still had good service with a reservation. Overall it has great ambiance, very beautiful presentation of food, and it was a nice romantic date. However, I didn't feel the value of the food we were getting was worth the price. I found the flavors a little lacking. For example, the hanger steak came with grilled onions and it was quite a strong flavor that wasn't enjoyable.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience eating at Vino & Eataly. I was so surprised to find out that they had a gluten free pasta substitute and also had a gluten free pizza crust! I ordered the tagliolini Al limone with gluten free noodles and the sauce was bright and creamy. The noodles also held up very well for being gluten free. I also ordered the norcina without sausage on a gluten free crust. The crust was so light and airy I was concerned that it wasn't gluten free! As someone who eats gluten I would have had no idea this was a gluten free crust. The pizza itself was delicious and perfectly balanced. Service was quick and my server was really sweet about making substitutions/edits to the dishes. I will most definitely be stopping in again as I was really really impressed with this space.

Yelp
I adore the whole concept of Eataly that worships Italian food and vino in such a noisy and bustling way. But who is my main server? I did not like the "team" approach at all. Hard to get someone's attention from beginning to end at Vino &. I am patient and was, but that is my con. Delicious flight of whites finally poured and things start looking up. Three great wines and each a full glass--good value and great flavors. The peperonella pizza was fabulous. Half saved for lunch next day. Bought some wine and other treats from the markets. In downtown for a conference and so nice having Eataly a few feet from hotel. I adored Lydia's TV cooking show and some of her family's restaurants in Manhattan. They have built a good Roman Empire in US. I want to buy some of their caviar for Easter...but just too $$$. Maybe I'll change my mind!

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised with how good the food was as we had assumed the appeal was the wine. The environment is very open concept, you seat yourself, and the staff was quick to come by once we sat. We had both focaccias to start and were all blown away by how fresh it was! The favorite was definitely the Focaccia Rossa al Pomodoro, so if you're debating between the two i'd go with that one. As for the Ravioli di Piselli con Prosciutto, I thought it was actually comparable to the ravioli I had in Italy- mostly because you could tell it was homemade & there is a very light portion of sauce (as opposed to many Italian places in the city that drown the pasta in it). I myself didn't try the wine but my friend had the Pinot Grigio they recommended and thought it was good as well. Definitely will be coming back now that I know this isn't just a good place for wine!

Yelp
More popular than I thought it would be on a Sunday night. The zucchini sticks were very good, I asked them to leave out the calamari. The salad needed more flavor & seasoning. High noise level.

Yelp
We were craving some delicious Italian food that Chicago is so well known for. I've always wanted to eat at Eataly, but didn't have a chance when we lived there! Since we were staying in the area, we thought it would be the perfect occasion. The menu is by no means expansive, but there are a handful of items that even a picky eater can choose from! There were lots of wines to pair with your meal for those looking to wine and dine! I chose the handmade gnocchi. The dish was delicious!! The portions were tiny for the price. I feel like you'd need to order 1 entree and an appetizer!

Yelp
I love walking around the shop and looking at anything new to try. Definitely have the cacio e pepe. It is perfectly balanced and you will want to order a second one to take home. The service is great, everyone knows the menu and can help you navigate dietary preferences with no judgement.

Yelp
So for starters, the server was very nice and had lots of recommendations which we appreciated. It's a fun place to visit and the vibe is great. Drinks were fine and we didn't have to wait long for them. The rosemary focassia bread was delicious. Unfortunately all of our main courses were fairly underwhelming for the cost and hype. One person had the linguine and clams and enjoyed it. Everyone else felt underwhelmed. The rucola salad w/chicken was "too much arugula and not enough of anything else", the tagliolini al limone was "bland", and I ordered the tagliatelle alla bolognese per the recommendation of our server. It was very underwhelming. I've had more flavor at an Olive Garden. It lists an ingredient "18-month Agriform Parmigiano Reggiano" which was by far the best thing about this dish, but it was about 3 chunks of it. The rest was bland marinara and minimal pork and beef, with a ton of pasta.

Yelp
I went to this place for lunch understanding that it is a chain store and ordered pasta with clams that turned out to be very good. My companions also like the dishes they ordered.

Yelp
As an out-of-state repeat customer, I cannot recommend Eataly enough! I've been here for anniversaries, birthdays, and bachelorettes; every experience is 10/10 with the service, food, and ambiance. I've repeatedly been served by Derrick, who always makes the interactions welcoming and entertaining. Again, 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
This evening I stopped for dinner at the round bar upstairs and ordered the spaghetti pomodoro. The quality of the dish was on point as (almost) all ingredients are imported. Erik was working the area himself but immediately welcomed me and went over the menu, etc. Excellent service, very friendly guy.

Yelp
Sophia and Bruce are the best thank you!!! I ordered the pollo Milanese - my favorite to order and the wine, Edda, recommended by Sophia was excellent. I asked Bruce for sea salt and extra lemon- what a great attitude he has- many would have given me that " are you kidding me" look- not Bruce. The duo make a great team.

Yelp
To say I was underwhelmed would be generous. Each of our party spent 150-200 for an average to lame dining experience. In no way was the pasta fresh. If it was, then I wouldn't have complained in any form or manner. Because fresh pasta makes a pasta dish amazing. Everything served is from a can and microwaved. I can't respect this place.

Yelp
Derek was amazing, he was always attentive, friendly. He gave us the best customer service experience. I will come back just because the food was amazing and service was 100%. Detek you were the best!!!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Derrick! He had great wine and dessert recommendations and provided excellent service! If you visit Eataly ask for him, and get the tiramisu!

Yelp
Everything was so delicious, and Sophie, our waitress, took great care of us! The ambiance was cozy and inviting.

Yelp
At about 6 pm on Aug. 2 my guest and i had dinner at Vin &. The food was good but the service from start to finish was awful. The young hostess did not smile, spoke not a word and was, at best, bored and, at worst, unfriendly. The waiter was hardly better. He was dressed slovenly with blue jeans hanging low on his hips and was totally indifferent to us. He definitely made us feel unwelcome, and his service was a requirement that he couldn't avoid. I ordered a Negroni which, arrived much after my appetizer instead of before and only after I had politely inquired about it to the waiter. When he did bring it, he brusquely slid across the table, across my guest's position at the table and without a word Instead of walking 3 steps and serving it properly. My guest's entree was served first, and my pasta arrived much later at the point at which he had finished his pizza. At no point did the waiter ask about our food. The hostess certainly didn't either. I observed her, with her stone face, moping about. Never saw anyone acting as a manager. As I finished my pasta, the waiter, without a word, put the dessert menus on the table and walked away. Similarly, when I asked for the check he simply handed me the credit card machine and walked away. I have enjoyed eating at Eataly several times before, but, while I would give the food at Vin & 3 stars out of 5, I will never dine at Vin & again And specifically advice others to avoid it.

Yelp
Bruce and David made my lunch experience one of a kind. What a wonderful team. Very attentive and professional. Thank you for going above and beyond. Food was delicious.

Yelp
Jose was a wonderful server! He gave us tasty food recommendations in every category of the menu! He truly made our Eataly Chicago experience even better!

Yelp
Derick was an amazing server. Derek was very professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. I will definitely come back and recommend this to my family and friends.

Yelp
Derrick was amazing and made great recommendations for dinner. What great superb service we received from him. In fact going back again as we are from out of town!

Yelp
Very disappointed. We've been enjoying Eataly locations around the world for years now. Eataly Chicago is always a"must stop" when we're in Chicago. While we very much enjoyed the market this go around, our meal at Vino & Eataly was a huge disappointment. From our unenthusiastic hostess to our greasy, sloppy pizza- we left disappointed and wondering what went wrong. We expected the inflated prices-as I said, we've been here before-but the portion size was so small and the quality; well it just looked and tasted rushed. Our "spicy" pepperoni pizza had maybe 5 slices of meat on it; not even one tiny slice per piece. It had no heat and the lack of red sauce (it came with a white sauce) left it tasting bland. It was floppy and dripping with oil. Just not a great experience. We will definitely be back to the market but will stick to one of the other amazing Italian restaurants that Chicago has to offer.

Yelp
Had the charcuterie board, salad with Gorgonzola, pizza and linguine with clams. Everything was really good (especially the pizza because it was really thin). Service was slow which is why I give it a 4 instead of a 5

Judy K.

Yelp
The night before the recent Chicago Marathon, we dined at Eataly where the pasta was plentiful, vegan requests were met, and everyone was happy. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable, suggestions for the marathoners. Extremely busy restaurant with wine bars, shopping of every Italian food product, meals to go, Pizza fresh out of the oven, breads, and desserts. Will return again for delicious foods at Eataly.

Zach S.

Yelp
food and atmosphere was great. we were served by Jose and Bruce who were exceptional. highly recommend

Yelp
our server DERRICK was absolutely great! warm and friendly with a great sense of humor, he really enhanced our meal.

Yelp
Love this place. I could spend a lot of time searching for delicious Italian specialties. If you haven't been here you need to go.

Ehsan S.

Yelp
I strongly discourage trying the pizza at that place. It was a major letdown and far below my expectations. The quality of the ingredients was decent, but the combination of flavors was simply not enjoyable. On top of that, the price was quite high, making it an even more disappointing experience. Out of a rating scale of 5, I would give it a 1, or perhaps even lower. None of the five people in our group liked the food, and we have no intention of returning there.
