The 16 Best Restaurants In Venice, Italy 2024

"Don’t look for a spritz on the menu at Vino Vero, a Venetian Portuguese spot in Cannaregio. What you will find is an excellent selection of more than 600 natural, biodynamic, and small-producer wines, with choices ranging from a glass of skin contact bubbles to an obscure bottle of Sardinian white. When you get hungry, snack on cicchetti like sarde e saor with edible flowers, cured tuna with citrus zest, and gorgonzola with walnuts. Stand at the narrow bar or snag a table along the Fondamenta Misericordia and watch the neighborhood boat traffic." - gillian mcguire

Vino Vero – Bar Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Give us a top line view. On the quiet Cannaregio fringe, along a placid canal, sits Vino Vero, a beloved bacaro that proudly hangs a sign reading “No spritz; we love wine!” That they do—with an extensive list of wines by the glass and bottle. Modern light fixtures and a custom wood bar make the interior stand out from the dozens of other bacaros, cicchetterias, and osterias in Venice, and a few wood tables outside provide low-key waterside seating. So who’s there? Wine geeks near and far gravitate here for the wine list. You’ll know you’ve found it when you see a crowd that looks slightly out of place: patrons sporting chic outfits in the midst of one of Venice’s grittier areas. How are the drinks? The wines here skew biodynamic and slightly experimental side. A chalkboard proclaims what's on offer each day, as well as the regions they come from. Rosso Toscano, Languedoc, and Carignon Blanc make frequent appearances. Worth ordering something to eat, too? The focus is on the wine, but high-end cicchettis are on-hand to pair with it. Anything to know about the staff? The staff here has deep knowledge of Italian wines, as well as all the wines they serve. What's the bottom line? This is the place to come if you’re looking for someone to guide you through a wine tasting." - Jenna Scatena

Came here twice while I was in Venice. Great selection of wines and cicchetti. My favorites were seared Tuna with Tzatziki, and Amberjack with avocado. You’ll see locals and tourists here and the service was friendly and prompt.

Amazing experience, the cicchetti were delicious with lots of variety. We had four glasses of wine, all perfectly served at the right temperature. Tons of options and the service was 10/10

This is my second visit to this brunch spot—it’s one of the most beautiful places, with a selection of very delicious mini sandwiches and a variety of unique drinks. The staff are very polite, cheerful, and well-mannered. I highly recommend visiting this place as it’s one of the best.

Fantastic little wine shop off the beaten path offering a delicious array of cicchetti and beautiful natural wines. Was one of my favourite places during my trip to Italy. ♥️

A cozy and lively natural wine bar with a knowledgeable and passionate staff. The wine selection was excellent, and the small bites were delicious. It gets crowded quickly, but even standing at the counter was part of the charm. Worth a visit!

Great wine collection. A lot of venitian wines, which is amazing. Vibe wise up there. Gets a mix of tourists and locals, which is a great sign. I didn't eat anything, so I can't really comment on that but loved the venitian wines they recommended.

Wonderful place to enjoy great wine along the canal. The cicchetti are warmed prior to being brought to you and among my favorite of the 6-7 places we tried during our few days in Venice. We were able to get a table without an issue but you can tell it’s a popular place so be prepared to stand until one opens up.
