Vino Volo Review - Hartsfield-Jackson Airport - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"This wine-centric chain isn’t unique to Atlanta, but they’ve partnered with Southern National to bring down-home flair to their ATL menu. It’s a long trek to the very end of Concourse T, so if you have yet to invest in a bag with wheels this journey might be what tips the scales. But we’d gladly make this expedition to enjoy a calmer section of the airport as we dig into upscale Southern dishes like their lamb ragu with tasty ground lamb, al dente rigatoni, and a light dusting of parmesan. If you really want to start vacation early, pair it with The Brookhaven for a burst of cool, refreshing cucumber tinged with gin and St. Germain. While it’s not quite as good as the Summerhill spot, we’d still clear it for takeoff. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair" - Juli Horsford

Google
I love that the St. Louis airport has a proper wine bar. I think it’s great that they offer different flights of wine and give you the tasting notes underneath each wine glass. It’s a nice touch. The food and wine are decent, but the servers were a true delight.

Google
This would be the second time I have stopped at this airport location for a glass of wine… Somehow got the same girl, (Melony), as my server who is cold and rude, both times! I feel like I’m doing her a favor! She has a very snobby attitude! This makes customers feel very uncomfortable! Think I’ll just pass on stopping here next time! Just because of her!! Food & wines are decent but not worth this treatment!!

Google
Highly recommend trying the wine tastings. Winter Whites and Behind the Vines tastings were fantastic. Our favorite of the latter was the cabernet blend from Benton Hills. The bruschetta is wonderful, though it could have done with some mozzarella. Definitely stopping by here again on my next flight.

Vino Volo has officially become my pre-flight ritual. As soon as I hit the terminal, I make a beeline for their bubbly flight and avocado toast. Because nothing says “ready to fly” like sparkling wine and smashed avo. It’s the perfect little escape before takeoff—elevated wine selections, solid food, and a calm, cozy atmosphere that feels more like a wine bar than an airport spot. Don’t skip signing up for their rewards program! It’s free and gives you points on every purchase, access to exclusive offers, and even a little birthday treat. Totally worth it if you’re a regular traveler. Headed to Las Vegas to meet my sister for some much-needed relaxation, incredible food, prime people-watching, and plenty of pool time. But first… bubbles. Are you team “treat yourself at the airport” or team “get me on the plane ASAP”? Follow me for more travel finds, foodie moments, and bubbly recs. #VinoVolo #STLAirport #BubblyBeforeBoarding #AirportTraditions #TravelDay #LasVegasBound #TheSassySaint

Every time I eat at one of their locations the food is so good and comes out so quick! This time I ate at the STL location and ordered the meatballs with a salad. SO FLAVORFUL. Whomever the chef is deserves all the kudos. I ate my food so quickly before I could even think to take a pic. Also the staff who took my order and waited on me were so quick and unobtrusive with their service. I want to have all my layovers here. Lol.

Google
Great spot for upscale food / drinks at reasonable prices at the airport. They serve breakfast all day and service is great. Even my kids liked the breakfast sandwich !

Google
July 2023 terminal 2 - The food is good but airport price. Unfortunately, the waitress service was horrible as she was very rude. So just ignore the bad mood and don’t let this impact your vacation. Oct 2023 terminal 1 - the food was good and this time all the 3 waitress were lovely, specially Daniel. The price is still airport price, but at least is good after all the other places are also airport price but not so good.

Google
Vino Volo at STL airport is a true gem for any traveler seeking a sophisticated and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant boasts an impressive selection of beers and an extensive wine list that perfectly complements their Mediterranean inspired cuisine. The highlight of the menu is their delicious beet and avocado salad, which is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The service is exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who make diners feel right at home. With its comfortable and stylish atmosphere, Vino Volo is the perfect spot to relax and unwind before or after a flight. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through STL airport.

Yelp
Sitting here I am reminded of trips in the past where I was in San Antonio and other airports that had a vino bolo and back then the catchphrase was "wine and Comfy chairs." It has evolved. The wine is still good, I write this sipping on an Italian prosecco. My favorite Brie and Prosciutto sandwich on ciabatta is still on the menu. I had one but the fig preserves are gone and so are the vermin's. In their place is a great little arugula salad. The seats are still better than most, you get precious little table space and you are not encouraged to linger nor are you discouraged, it isn't as cozy as the old days. BTW, their coffee sux. My wife says the game egg and cheese sandwich is great. They serve breakfast all day.

Yelp
Amazing little spot to enjoy a five hour delay. Really good wine flights at a great cost. We really like the cheese plate. In fact we liked it so much that we took an extra one on the flight. The Barata was also good but could've been a little bit more flavorful. We had the all meat pizza, which was kind of small, but really good. The hummus was also decent but not the best I've had. Eric and Katherine waited on us and they did a great job.

Yelp
Yooo for airport food and drink, not bad! I wa surprised this place was open so early but I was super grateful because the lines for other more breakfast-y places were insanely long. The avocado toast was delicious and their coffee was good! Definitely a great way to start the morning before a day of traveling. My server was awesome and the vibe was what you would expect from an airport wine lounge.

Yelp
I swear I'm going to be late to my own funeral but I AM NEVER late to the airport! If you love delicious New York cheesecake and adult beverages, I highly suggest you get to the airport early too. Vino Volo was a great place to relax before my flight. The staff was very friendly and the service was great! One day I hope to make enough money to be able to enjoy those fancy private airport/airline lounges; But for now, this was the closest feeling.

Yelp
Vino Volo stood out as a more unique dining opportunity at the St. Louis airport, and who am I to complain about reasonably priced wine flights at an airport restaurant? I liked that it was a seat-yourself policy (I hope wasn't because they were short staffed). The wait staff here work as a team, and we were well attended to by several. Wines were available by the glass or by flights of 3 short pours, and the wines were less conventional. My lunch, a chicken blta (the a was for avocado, which was more like a guacamole added) was tasty, though I thought the salads were a better deal. One complaint I do have is that when we asked for water, we were immediately brought bottled water instead of being asked if we wanted bottled or tap water. Their comment was that they assumed we would not like their tap water. Even though the STL airport is cramped and crowded, lunch here felt like a nice respite.

Yelp
Food is seriously so freaking good! Service is fantastic! Stop by if you're at the airport.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Meatballs excellent. Great salad and wine list is amazing. Service was supreme. A great experience. The decor was pleasing.
google avatar

Robyn Y.

Yelp
Good service, a tiny nook of calm amidst a very crowded and busy terminal. The avocado toast was a great meal prior to a 2.5hr flight.
google avatar

Bob R.

Yelp
I stopped by Vino Volo for a quick bite to eat before my flight leaves Saint Louis Airport. The staff is fantastic and the food is good. They have a good selection of top shelf spirits available. Definitely worth stopping by for a drink and some food.
google avatar

Heidi L.

Yelp
Airport food is usually not great, seating in what passes for a restaurant is frequently uncomfortable and loud. What a welcome change - seating is very comfortable, servers are great and the food is actually really good. The wine selection is nice as well .
google avatar

Tony D.

Yelp
Outstanding service and high quality drink and food options. Very clean and orderly with comfortable furnishings. This place did not disappoint! I would love to visit again. I'd love to see this business in every airport in the U.S.. A new favorite for me!
google avatar

Barrett M.

Yelp
Love that this place will stay open a little late when SWA flights are (often) delayed and everything else is closed. The staff is fun and attentive and the food is good without the "for an airport restaurant" clarifier. Even though they're wine-centric they've got quality liquor too, though I do wish they had more variety, but again, wine (vino) is in the name. Don't know about the beer yet. They've got plugs around too if you need a charge.
google avatar

Joy M.

Yelp
I love this place! Not your average airport restaurant. Lloyd was awesome, gave me a custom flight that was great. He knows a lot about the wines which I appreciate. Their tomato soup with crispy cheese sandwich is the best I have has anywhere. Can't wait to be back in STL!!!

Melvin S.

Yelp
Didn't feel like this business wanted me there. Not BIPOC friendly. I was told I could sit at an open spot at the bar and the spot was clearly not large enough to accommodate an average sized man. When I asked if it were possible to get a table because the spot was not large enough for me, I was told "Who knows when people will leave for a table to open up." When I sat down, the waitress took my order immediately and did not check up on me throughout my time there. I heard one of the employees asking another if they knew anything about the wine selection because "apparently one of the customers is a sommelier." I didn't think that was very professional. The flatbread was the taste, shape, and size of a microwavable pizza. Very disappointing for over $20. The person next to me (white man) had his drinks comped by the bartenders and was confused why they were comped. The other patrons who came and sat down at the bar near me, (also white men) were offered water, and the bartender checked on them throughout their time at the bar. Would not return.
google avatar

Daniel W.

Yelp
Busy? Yes. Expensive? Yes. However, unlike most airport venues, the food here actually tastes good and the tables were reasonably clean. While these aren't remarkable things by normal standards, for a restaurant in a busy airport, those are notable accomplishments.

Yelp
Belated review from a glorious day of flying on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. After passing by Vino Volos in various airports over the years, we finally took our shot since everything else in Terminal E in St. Louis looked way worse. It's about what you expect. Perfectly OK food that costs five times more than what it should. The sangria is unimaginative and the white wine is what you would find at an Olive Garden. For food, one of us got the Mediterranean salad (with chicken) and she's a basic bae but she had vegetables, which one of us was craving after so much heavy eating. Our daughter got their meatballs which definitely felt like a thawed situation (rubbery, dry) swimming in sauce. The Italian panino almost made us laugh out loud when it was served because the whole thing--even with the "upsell" of brie--cost over $20 and was the size of a McMuffin. LOL! Oh Vino Volo, good one. The space is cramped and they allow dogs in (gross), but the staff is nice enough. Listen, we did it once, but only because there were no other better options, and hunger makes the best sauce. 3 stars only because this meal shined in comparison to another one we had on our trip. Vino Volo: Veni, Vidi, NonVici.
google avatar

Mark U.

Yelp
The wine choices were well presented, affordable (if you like what you taste) and a pleasant departure [sic] from competing airport fare. Not inexpensive, but attentive service at this outlet.
google avatar

Deb M.

Yelp
This use to be my husband's and my favorite respite spot when traveling. Quieter than other places with a better selection of quality food. Not sure what happened? Two staff members approached nearby tables and when I say nearby, I mean this place is not big and the tables were in front and next to me, to ask if f they were helped. I spoke up and both turned away. Finally, someone came to my table and when I mentioned this, her response is, " now that we're caught up" really? How about, " I'm sorry, can I help you?" She took my drink order but left all the dirty dishes. Didn't wipe the table down. And one couple across from me left w/out getting their food. There was one older gentleman that seemed to be "doing it all." And just so everyone understands, they all wait on any table. A disappointing visit for sure. Do better.
google avatar

Ali H.

Yelp
As far as quality goes I would say this is your best bet for the airport. The wine/ cocktail selection is pretty expansive too. The prices are fairly expensive, but this is the airport so I feel like it is to be expected. Overall, I would come back again.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
Delayed flight out of STL and we impromptu stopped in here for food. We were very hungry. We got the grilled cheese and tomato soup, carne pizza, and lava cake. Not lying that this grilled cheese and soup was some of the best I've ever had. This will be our new STL airport stop for sure.

Corley M.

Yelp
Great service and food! I fly a lot and usually spend my times in lounges. Without a lounge to visit I was looking for a decent plate and place to sit. I loved Vino Volo... service was top-notch. Made me ready to try out different ones in other airports to see if they were as good! Bryn was the bartender and he took really good care of us.
google avatar

Sandy A.

Yelp
The Layover delight. I was standing while checking in and someone friendly greeted me to sit and charge up. Next thing I knew I was buying a $26 glass of Merlot. This place is situated next to gate E18 where coincidentally I will be boarding. After a long stay in Nebraska this was quite the treat. I will miss my beautiful family and this was quite the treat to reminisce my stay with my new twin grandbabies. Thank you for the invite to take a load off, whomever you may be. I really needed a cheers to new life and blessings. May all of you reading this review find yourself a quaint yet trendy little spot to pick-me-up after a bittersweet goodbye. Peace yall! Nola bound.

Yelp
At the airport in Saint Louis passing time. We wanted to grab a bite to eat and Vino Volo was near our gate. Split the Italian Panino with my wife. Plenty of food. Had a nice glass of a Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. It was great. The service was very good. The sandwich was wonderful. For an airport concourse restaurant the ambiance was good. I highly recommend Vino Volo.
google avatar

Ry ..

Yelp
STL airport staff is the best! They introduced me to the meatballs with a fresh salad and balsamic vinegar dressing. My new favorite and has always been served with a smile. I appreciate u all!
google avatar

Shirley M S.

Yelp
A wonderful cozy spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of rushing through the airport trying to catch a flight and hurry up and wait! The staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful, putting us right at ease. They had music softly playing in the background perfect for the ambiance of the place. We shared a meat and cheese charcuterie board which was as yummy as it was beautiful. We also had a few Old Fashioneds with Angels envy to drink. They were perfectly made. We would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Sarena T.

Yelp
The vibes inside are really nice and peaceful, even the workers and the music go along with it. I ordered The Queen's Pick and added chicken - it was delicious! Super fresh and better than I expected for flatbread. Pricey for sure but that's expected.
google avatar

Lesley M.

Yelp
During my three hour layover, I decided to stop here and grab a drink and snack. The cranberry mimosa was good, and the avocado toast was very tasty. Overall, I had great service, but I felt everything was a little over priced as expected in the airport. There are a decent amount of wines and cocktails to choose from. They offer a small menu with a decent variety of options, but I would definitely go back for the avocado toast. On my way back through this airport I stopped again and tried a couple of different wine flights. Nice varieties of wines from around the world if you feel adventurous.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Our bartender Melanie was amazing! She helped with our order, left us alone while we were working & checked in just enough. Good (airport) food & great wine!
google avatar

Richard G.

Yelp
Stopped here twice on holiday visits to STL. My wife and I loved the friendly and super fast service, the great food (the meatballs and side salad are amazing), and the surprisingly good wines. (If flying Southwest, this is your best bet unless you can't drink or eat without a TV blaring as you do.)
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Ate at the airport here. The service was quick, and the Aperol spitz was perfect. They initially forgot the diced egg atop my avocado toast, but it was quickly rectified. It wasn't diced, but it was delicious. The wine pour chick was very nice and sociable. Great! Glad I ate here...nice music, quiet patrons, and plenty of room at the bar.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
After many years of traveling for work and pleasure probably the best experience I have had from an airport restaurant. Great bourbon and wine selection. My wife and I had some wonderful bourbon cocktails and some excellent food. The service was what you would expect when at a fine dining restaurant. Can't say enough about this place. I hope I fly through this airport again soon.
google avatar

J David H.

Yelp
I seldom weigh in on airport fare but this was worthy. Solid ham and cheese sandwich and glass of delicious red at the bar. They also offer top shelf bourbon. Slow and absent service killed the 4th star. Prices are high, so expect a $40 tab with tax & tip if solo. I would return. 3.5 seems to fit them perfectly.
google avatar

Jackson B.

Yelp
I was going to wait and have a drink on the flight but this place caught my eye. The dining is spectacular. Our bartender, Nigel was awesome. Great service and awesome drinks. I will be stopping by more often!
google avatar

Maya G.

Yelp
Didn't tell us about the water. It came in a bottle at $4.50. Extra expense and expensive menu compared to quantity.
google avatar

Anne H.

Yelp
Civilized stop over meal in an airport. I ordered a rum and organic soda (not a wine drinker) and a burrata bowl which was just fantastic. No really! Seeet cherry tomatoes, large portion of fresh burrata, crostini they was perfectly toasted on the outside but crunchy on the outside. The balsamic glaze was sweet. I've Ben in a few airports lately and it always feels like you have to settle for done meal that is "less than". Less than healthy or less than tasty. This was a yummy alternative.
google avatar

Lina P.

Yelp
Not bad for airport food, but not all that impressive compared to typical restaurants. Service was okay, I had to wait for some time. Ambiance was okay, but it looked a bit crowded. I had my food to go. If I am stuck here again, I'll probably come back.
google avatar

Lydia J.

Yelp
After a day full of delays and changes, I had a good meal and fantastic service from Hasan. This was my second time eating at this location, and both were pleasant during long travel days.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Great place to sit if you want a cocktail and a snack. The menu could have a better selection of bigger meals, but I was looking for something small so it fit my needs.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Emma Bryn and the whole staff was epic! I go to different Vino Volo weekly and this is the best one I've ever been to!!
google avatar

Courtney F.

Yelp
I come here pretty often since I travel for work. This location always has ample seating, great service, and is super clean. I love pretty much anything on their menu, my only complaint is having to choose what I want each time! They never give me crap for not drinking (I hate drinking before a flight), and are always so helpful/quick to get food out to me. Very professional staff, one of my favorite Vino Volo locations
google avatar

H W.

Yelp
If you're stuck at any given airport where there is a Vino Volo and you have a bit of time (and a few $$$), this is the stop to wine; better than whining about flight delays. Flights (of wine not flights), and great selection of light faire. Or just a glass of red to keep you calm. Or white.
google avatar

Jona D.

Yelp
I had a three hour layover so I decided to grab a glass of wine or two. Hasan took care of me and was the sweetest. He made my experience at an airport bar feel exquisite and exceptional (the bar was cute though). He was kind, professional and his vibe was just right. I could not have asked for a better experience. If you stop at vino volo in the St. Louis airport, ask for him. He will not disappoint.
google avatar

Teri A.

Yelp
Great little place right next to gate E18. Good service and some yummy food. Ordered the avocado toast with crispy prosciutto. And a grilled chicken salad. Both were tasty and perfect. Hubby enjoyed their Sangria.

Gail A.

Yelp
Service was lovely & attentive. The wine is mediocre at best & the pours are small. It would be great to have more options on the menu.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
These guys saved my hungry A with some good food on a stopover in St. Louis to NYC and I am thankful for that. I had a 2.5 hour stopover in St. Louis at dinner time and would not arrive in NYC until 11.30 PM so a good meal was critical. I walked all over the terminal and there were many other options, but this one seemed like it had the best chance to deliver a quality meal in an airport and it did. I got the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich and it was perfect delicious. Just wish it had a bit more chicken--but it tasted great, came with Avocado and a salad ($20). You don't usually get quality food like that in an airport. They took my order right away--but it took 45 minutes to get the food out--so you need a good layover to dine here. Loved the relaxed atmosphere at the table in the restaurant--had a plug at the table to charge my phone. You can drink quality wine here--I did not get any this stop. I would come here again when in St. Louis.--just put more chicken in the sandwich.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
This location, in the southwest terminal at STL, is the worst location I've ever been too. One bartender was clearly not happy there, and then spilled water on the bar too i from of me slamming a glass of water there, some of which ended up on my laptop. He made eye contact with me, grabbed a rag, wiped up what was on the bar, and then walked away not saying a word. I was left to clean the water that had gathered under and on my laptop. I watched another bartender pour a shot, walk into the corner near me, beneath a security camera and drink the shot. This was all while a register was sounding an alarm of some kind for ten minutes. I felt like I was in an alternate universe.
google avatar

Dylan R.

Yelp
The food was very good and the service was great. It was very expensive for what we got but it is expected being in the airport. I would definitely go back.

Ellen G.

Yelp
There are tiny flies flying all around the bar. They are covering the lighting and ceiling. I had to cover my drink from the bugs. Seems like a health issue.

Matt B.

Yelp
Nigel provided amazing service and friendly conversation during my last visit at Vino Voló!
