We were on a flight that got delayed due to a mechanical error at the Santa Ana airport. Alaska gave each passenger food vouchers since the flight was delayed for 6 hours. It was me and my 3 children we chose to use them at Vino Volo having never tried them before and the menu looked good. Well the 2 servers could not hide their annoyance when attending to us and because the vouchers were each $12 she had to enter the credit card numbers on each voucher. I get that you may be annoyed being that a lot of passengers chose to eat there causing them to be very busy. The lady that rang me up. The older of the 2, my receipt says Kim P. She gawked that she had to enter the card so many times and the fact that I wasn't writting down the information fast enough she kept saying I need to get these going. I apologized that it was so many transactions. However I didn't ask for my flight to be delayed. I will not return for a 2nd visit due to both the server and waitress being rude and short. I even said thank you so much and have a great night to which she turned around and walked off not saying it back to me. If you hate your job that much or you just suck at customer service then you shouldn't work in the service industry. I spoke to several others on my flight who dined in there as well. Everybody else said they had the same experience. The food was great but because of the customer service I will not be going back.

Perfect! Beautiful and delicious burrata plate. The Mediterranean plate looked amazing too. Great wine selection by the glass. I had a beautiful glass of their featured champagne. Crisp and gorgeous.

If you’re a wine lover passing through an airport, Vino Volo is well worth a stop for a flight or glass paired with a snack. It stands out in an airport context for its quality I would go here again. Great experience

Had a layover in Santa Ana, and decided to stop by Vino Volo. The two of us hard: -flight tiny bubbles $21 -modern times IPA $9 -butchers board $28 Drinks were ok. Board was below average. Not a whole lot, and quite pricey. Service was a bit nonexistent when they were not very busy. Overall, ok spot. Pricey end, but ambience is a bit nicer and more quiet.

Stopped by Vino Volo at SNA last night on a later flight out for work. Staff was friendly when answering my questions, which is something I really appreciate when I’m here. I have seen the burrata bowl on the menu for a while now, but since I tend to take morning flights, I’ve never really had the chance to order it. So glad I did - it was fantastic! Almost makes me want to start taking later flights more often ha ha. Service was quick and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. This will always be a go-to spot for me when flying out of this airport

Google
stopped here 2 days ago at my arrival to john wayne and again when leaving today. Having a wine place at the airport is amazing, coming from someone who lives in wine country. also great vegetarian options. cannot wait to come back to OC to fly into john wayne and stop here. Staff is very friendly..big shout out to them. hard workers.

Google
Stressful is the word that travel evokes now, but the one thing I can always depend on to take some of the edge off is Vino Volo. It makes getting to the airport early worth it. The wine selection is outstanding and the food is fresh and varied. Cheers!!

I am a wine importer. I always stop by Vino volo while traveling for business. I was delayed in Santa Ana and I spent an hour at the bar enjoying Champagne. The bartenders had great personality and were knowledgeable.

Yelp
Airport food/wine stop! We were served quickly and efficiently. Obviously, the wait staff understood the assignment. THE FOOD. - Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup | What a great pairing. Of course, I used the soup as a dipping sauce for the cheese sandwich. I didn't have high expectations for this dish, but as it turns out, it was really tasty. - Winery Country Cobb | Fresh mix of salad, tomatoes, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, avocado, and tender (chilled) chicken. THE DRUNK DRINKS. - Malbec. Nieto Senetiner. Argentina, Mendoza, Camila, 2022 | Subtle sweetness and juicy. - Pinot Noir. Lange Estate. Oregon, Willamette Valley, Fly Line, 2022 | Fruity notes with a slight acidic finish. COMING BACK? I'd come back for the cheese sandwich & tomato soup again. And the wine. Always, the wine. Oh, if you're looking for last minute gifts on your way home, they sell varieties of wine there too.

Yelp
This Vino Volo wasn't the best location. It met the criteria of being an escape from the airport area, however, the service was slow and after I ordered certain items, Surprisingly, prices weren't crazy in comparison to other Vino Volos in the Midwest, so kudos to SNA for not having an uncharge for the privilege of being in an airport. Also, their West Coast/California Kings flight hasn't changed much in a while. I use Vino Volo to find new wines to drink and was disappointed to see the same ones I've had before.

Yelp
Wow! This place for an egg cheese and bacon sandwich for $19.00, this is the most rip off sandwich I ever bought. Extra $5 dollar bacon to add to my egg and cheese, sandwich cheese isn't melted, only one egg white, smashed and thin, the egg doesn't even fit on the bun, it's mostly bread! Don't ever order one of these! I'm gunna dispute this cost and throw this away!

Yelp
Delicious 'tiny bubbles' flight! Only $21 for 3 generous pours. Easy, comfortable visit, with friendly staff. Just right to cool off after an action packed trip.

Yelp
They have a really good selection of wines, decently priced. You can get a bottle for $21.00 and up to over a hundred dollars. If you buy a bottle, you need to pay for corkage if you want to drink the bottle at the bar. The corkage is quite pricey, so check before you buy. You can also just buy by the glass, which might end up to be the same price. The bartenders are really nice and attentive. They have seats at the bar and some small tables that you can sit at and airport people watch while you enjoy your wine. HAPPY VINOING!

Yelp
Had a glass of wine here while waiting for my flight to board. Good selection of wine, and service was quick. Easy and comfortable access especially when by yourself. Thanks!

Yelp
My husband and I had the opportunity to stop in to Vino Volo while waiting for a flight at the John Wayne airport. We were very impressed with everything that Vino Volo had to offer. The food selection was outstanding and we especially enjoyed the avocado toast! The friendly staff provided excellent, professional service. The wine selection needless to say, was amazing. The vibe was very welcoming and upbeat. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you Vino Volo for a great experience!

Yelp
My flight was delayed and I was not happy, but then I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. I decided to try this place and the everything was so outstanding that it turned my mood around! The food was great and fresh. I spoke with the Manager who had excellent wine knowledge and he recommended a specific Pinot Noir. It was so good, I had to buy the bottle for my trip! I got great service from my server as well. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
So we had an hr before our flight so why not a glass or three right? my besties is a picky eater and she def needs to eat something light before the flight. I also need food before my flight since it would be 10pm by the time I reach mah destination and that's not a good time to find dinner. I am totally impressed with the quality of the food here at Vino Volo. Bread were crusty on the outside and the balsamic was on point. I wish they crushed the tomato a bit so they're not falling off left and right but it was good. The salad was fresh and yes, I wish the salmon was hot and a bit more seasoning in the dressing but it was fresh Definitely will wine and dine here again

Yelp
Ate here before my UA flight departure today @3:52PM Whomever the 2 employees working today were genuinely nice. Gentleman with glasses and lady with dark long hair in a low ponytail. I hadn't eaten dinner last night nor breakfast this morning. Needless to say I have HUNGRY. I purchased the braised short rib with mashed potatoes and peas. YES I ordered the rosé Def stop here if looking for somewhere to eat, drink some wine and relax an open clean area while waiting for your flight!

Yelp
Cute place at the airport should you find yourself at SNA. New place that just opened. A very relaxing environment that offers starters, salads, sandwiches and pizzas. A lot of options for an airport location. Seats are comfortable as well and conveniently located in between gate 9 and 10. Friendly staff and fast service. I got the margarita pizza with prosciutto. It was pretty good. Could be more crispy but it's airport food. There is a wine bar should you want an alcoholic beverage.

Yelp
I stopped by here for dinner while waiting for my flight. I decided to get the Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs in Red Wine Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, and Peas The mashed potatoes were a typical hot, typical mashed potatoes. Peas seemed okay, but didn't have a fresh taste, maybe like it just came unfrozen. Ribs came out medium. So it was more firm than soft and juicy. They also didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, which probably is a small red flag. The plate / dish was smaller than I expected and that factored in to the rating. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, and might be worth getting a table if you need a nicer food stand than McDonalds down the terminal. However with prices of $15-30 for a glass of wine, and $28 for the plate that probably could have come out of a frozen microwave dinner, I was significantly disappointed. While I'm not one to typically complain about cost, the value of the prices on the menu was very off putting in hindsight. Likely to never return to this location, or any Vino Volo location in general. I think this is a chain wine bar that is behind the TSA airport security at major airports (I had saw 1-2 in my base airport), so it'll be one I'll actively avoid, unless I really need wine before I board a flight (which is never the case). Good to try once, then never again. Shame on me since what else should I have expected from airport restaurants?

Yelp
My favorite go to place before flying out it's always so relaxing and cute and great ambiance while waiting to board

Jenni S.

Yelp
Stopped at Vino Volo last week before flying out to visit family. The manager, Tyler, was there that morning. He was very knowledgeable about the different wines and service was quick (which I greatly appreciated because I cut my time a little close to boarding). Always a pleasure stopping here when I'm flying out of SNA, and big thanks to Tyler!

Yelp
Who would not like to enjoy a few glasses of wine before boarding the flights? We are pretty lucky to have 30 mins to kill at SNA terminal B. Tried three flights: white, Pinot, Rose along with a cheese plates. My favorite is Pinot one which I would like a whole case with that. Tried one of Rose glasses which was drier than I thought would be but I love it. Services were wonderful. Only one thing was missing - iced water. They don't have the ice cubes at site. Wines are chilled.

Yelp
Well yelp is not allowing me to add more photos! I planned an early arrival to SNA just to have enough time to visit my favorite airport dining spot. The chicken sandwich was amazing. The pizza was good too. My party was able to make it through a heavy red flight, white flight and Pinot flight. All were excellent. Favorite of the day is the amazing service Natalie and Cynthia provided us. They were attentive and split the dishes for us without asking. Love the ambiance here too. I recommend arriving early to try this place. They open at 7 am! Cheers!

Yelp
Anytime you have a layover or time to spare before departure if a Vino Volo is available do yourself a favor by dining there! The food is not only really good, but nutritious! Service is always consistently great, and the menu is filled with items that pair well with a wine; I highly recommend!

Nicole W.

Yelp
The food was good, especially the butcher board. The service was good. The ambiance is an Italian cuisine at the Airport.

Yelp
Sad. Waiting for over a half an hour for a small pizza and I had to finally leave. The guy never came back around so I just left.

Yelp
@vinovolo Ordered: Avocado Taost, Low Carb Bowl, Italian Capanino . Review: Pros: Located inside John Wayne, this place has healthy and savory options for quick bite. Their bacon and chicken were excellent in Low Carb Bowl. They also have wide sekection of wines. Better option for meal than CPK in SNA airport. Cons: Location - inside airport. Can easily miss (opposite side of gates after security check).

M W.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to this place. When I first started going there some years ago as a "treat" during business travel - the plates were great. Charcuterie, cheese, wine, various "gastropub" like options. If you compared the charcuterie dishes now to at that time - you'd see a stark difference. Somehow the place went from premium to barely above Lunchables. I ordered an Italian style panini recently - the meat was somehow much less than you'd get on a Subway and the sandwich was dry and unappealing. Lots of iceberg lettuce which is fine but no sauce of any kind. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go to another option at the airport now - it simply isn't worth the premium prices they ask now
google avatar

Mickele B.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding service. All good served all day, so no need to limit your breakfast menu to avocado toast. Very knowledgeable about wine and conveniently located in the B terminal! Bright and clean. Food was ok, I had the Mediterranean plate and the feta was very salty. Not sure why anyone would want their tomatoes to be roasted that way!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a drink prior to boarding for flight out to Germany. Located by gate 9 so convenient to sit at the bar while waiting for my flight. Sat at the bar and met a nice couple traveling to Austin. Decent selection and of wine. Food looked good from what the couple next to me ordered

Michelle S.

Yelp
Wonderful place to go while in John Wayne airport. Amazing customer service and friendly atmosphere. Jesse gave us 5 star service and was so kind to us weary travelers. Thanks Jesse and Vino Volo #7017!
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
Customer service can go a long way but not this place. Anytime that you ask for something they make you feel so bad for asking. Lol they talk shit about every customer and their regular customers apparently. Lol it's just airport wine and airport food I guess I shouldn't expect much but even the service is awful. It is what it is. I would have to be desperate again with a delay flight to come back here. But hey guys there's a Stella bar down by the other gate with fantastic service. My husband and I had a way better over there.
google avatar

Darcey H.

Yelp
What a luxury to have a wine bar across from your gate in an airport. What's even better is the thoughtful service I received from Jesse who must see a 100 people a day but gives exceptional, personalized service to every person. The rosé wine flight was a great selection of domestic and European options. I loved the tasting notes that came with the flight.
google avatar

Bacong F.

Yelp
This was a great spot to hang out before my flight in Terminal B, across from gate 9. The service was quick and the food is fine. The food selection is great considering the other selections for this airport. It is more on the healthier and less greasy end.

Felix M.

Yelp
Our waiter MARCO was amazing ! Our flight back to San Francisco was delayed so we decided to relax at VINO VOLO. MARCO was very attentive and kind, he made our delay forgettable. . . . w/ the pop of a cork and a few sips.

Eric L.

Yelp
Stopped in before my flight for a glass of wine. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. The charcuterie was great. Perfect stop before your flight.

Yelp
My flight was delayed, so went to this restaurant inside the Orange County John Wayne airport and had a quick bite. Food was good and the service was nice and the food came out very fast.

Yelp
Three stars for the experience but four stars for the convenience. Stop by for a drink after a long Friday right before flying back home. Since I've never been to any of the vino volo, my coworker and I decided to give it a shot. The menu is pretty nice and we just ordered a mixed board and three wine pairings. I had the international trio and my coworker ordered the California trio. For $25 the board was pretty meager with only two slices of the meats. The wines were good, but since I'm not a wine person I couldn't really tell the difference between the different glasses after a while. Anyway it's a great place to spend some time if you are into wine but otherwise you're not missing much.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Good wine at the airport while waiting for my flight. A bit pricey this visit. Thanks

Yelp
Vino Volo is located inside of John Wayne Airport in terminal B by gate 9. It is a great place to enjoy a few glasses of wine if you arrived to the airport early for your flight. I had about 30 minutes before boarding time, so I decided to come by Vino Volo for a quick flight. Tyler was very welcoming and informative. I guess there are over 140ish Vino Volos at airports, including LAX also. I decided on the Shades of White flight ($14) which came with three tastings. 2016 Fiano Masserie Surani, Italy, Puglia, Artemis - My least favorite of the three, but as I continued to sip away the taste really grew on me. This bright white wine has notes of apricot, pear, honeysuckle and yogurt. It has a crisp acidity but thankfully a refreshing finish. 2017 Chardonnay Fluer du Cap, South Africa, Stellenboasch, Bergkelder Selection - This glass of wine has notes of apricot and vanilla and it is much smoother than the first glass. The acidity and fruit flavors are really balanced. 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Makara, New Zealand, Marlborough, Boo Boo Fault - My favorite of the three glasses. This glass had vibrant notes of gooseberry, grapefruit and honey. It was extremely refreshing with a lingering fruit finish. My original plan was to try a few flights while I waited, but time flies when you're having fun. I will definitely come back to Vino Volo to enjoy a few more flights and some light bites the next time I have a flight going out of John Wayne.
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken pesto sandwich is gone! WTF come on corporate are you nuts? Everyone loved that sandwich
google avatar

Kathryn J.

Yelp
Southwest had some glitches and fortunately I found this delightful spot to spend time in. The sparkling flight was the best $18 I've spent! I could not pick a favorite because they were all good. The service was on par & the light lunch, Beet, Arugula, Feta salad was yummy! I would have loved to spend more time there but didn't want to take up the table. Highly recommend this spot as a go to while at SNA!
google avatar

Anatoli L.

Yelp
Ohh, it pains me to give 3 stars to one of my favorite airport restaurants, but it is an honest expression of my disappointment. Of course, the main attraction of Vino Volo is wine flights. I always prefer tasting versus drinking, so trying 3 different wines for the price of of one is definitely right up my alley. I didn't choose well, however - got "The art of blending" flight, and out of the 3 wines, one was very good, one okay, and one truly mediocre if not worse. But - this is not the reason for a low rating. I got avocado and beets salad. When the salad arrived, I couldn't believe what I saw - it contained canned beets. Never ever I would expect to find canned beets at any restaurant, sans supermarket salad bar. The salad was edible, but canned beets? Seriously? Sorry, I can't get pass that. Excellent service. Definitely recommended - with the exception of beets and avocado salad.
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
In all fairness, I had nothing to eat. But the Malbec I tried was great. The main reason for the 5 star is because they are so friendly. I was sat immediately. And they are constantly cleaning and sanitizing. So not only do I appreciate them showing up to work, I appreciate that they WORK while they're here! Abigael is the best. Very inviting and a great conversationalist. Jesse is wonderful. One of the managers. He makes every customer feel special and takes a personal interest in his employees. I heard him asking how their evening is going.
google avatar

Casey F.

Yelp
This place is great for a glass of wine before a flight, and I can't speak about all the food, but I did get a ham and olive pizza and a Med Platter to go, and they were small, poor quality, and did not taste good. Not to mention way over priced for what they were, even for airport food.
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
I love the flights. We order a couple and have our own private wine tasting. And they are really not that expensive. Here's a tip for the food: if you have the time to order and eat it's pretty good. However if you order it to go, their food does not travel well. I ordered the charcuterie plate to go. It looked like a tiny salad of junk on the plane. DO NOT get that to go. They also forget things. Good thing I opened things up and checked. We also had the avocado toast togo. Mushy mistake. Next time we eat in.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Beware! They let you tast a great bottle of say 2019 then sell you a bottle of say 2021. Not the same thing!! Of course, by the time you realize they sold you a different year, you are long gone.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
If you're not visiting the American or United Lounge or want better wines than any other bar or restaurant inside the John Wayne / Orange County airport, this is the place to be. A clean minimalist vibe and super efficient staff. There's a food menu that consists of appetizers, salads, cheese or meat charcuterie, and sandwiches. They have a tiny kitchen that produces all of the above. They also have a beer selection that's not listed on the menu, but that is written on a chalkboard at the bar. If you prefer a beer make sure to check out their selections, which regularly change. The wines are available by the glass, by the bottle, or by the taste in groups of three similar wines. A great place to spend layovers or just wait for your gate.
google avatar

William S.

Yelp
I had the Smoked Ham & Gruyere. Would've tried something to drink, but they do truly only serve wine & water, and I couldn't partake in any wine at the time (though I'm sure this would've gone *very* nicely with a glass). It was quite good! Service really knocks it out the park for me. Food came out fast and the staff are really friendly, even felt happy to have us there. Prices are airport standard, $15 there abouts, higher for some more specialty items such as the baked brie or charcuterie board. I feel like maybe you could get more bang for your buck at other sit downs in the terminal, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and cuisine. For something a little more elevated than fast food or a sports bar, definitely stop by Vino Volo.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
Overpriced wine. Mediocre flavor. Great music. Good service. More relaxing than McD's and many other places but I won't buy another flight here on my dime nor my clients.
google avatar

Kathryn C.

Yelp
I always just thought of this as a wine bar. I got to John Wayne airport early around dinner time time. Thanks to yelp, this was the most highly rated joint and people recommended for food in addition to wine! A very pleasant little spot to unwind. Flying can be harried and hectic and this was just a great spot to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and have a really tasty, fresh and delicious Cobb Salad. Service was relatively timely (not instant, but no dilly dallying. Serves within 5-10min). Very doable with 40-45min
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
A must-have spot at every airport and this location is my favorite! From the extremely friendly and hospitable staff to the amazing food that never fails to satisfy. Attentive, knowledgeable as well as respectful the staff is. Highly recommend this winery and also the Prosciutto & Brie sandwich. Will be back VERY soon!
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
Great service especially for an airport bar but be prepared to pay airport prices. If you plan on having more than two glasses, it is cheaper just to get the bottle. For two glasses of wine and a cheese plate it was 50 dollars. Again, you expect it for the airport but for the table red, it will run about 13 dollars a glass. But the service is great and the seats are comfy if you are in between flights!
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
I stop at a lot of different Vino Volo during business travels. This location is one of the best. Staff is very friendly and the tables are very spread out so you have plenty of room to work during flight delay. They have daily specials on the black board, be sure to inquire about it.
google avatar

Steffani F.

Yelp
As a visitor, we liked Vino Volo in the John Wayne Airport. It's breakfast now so no wine for us. I had a very good breakfast sandwich. The bread was thick, soft and lightly toasted with fig jelly, Brie, prosciutto and salad greens. Jazz music is piped in and it was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the airport.
