Started off slow but finished off strong! We arrived a little after 4pm on a Saturday. It appeared that there were two staffers - both very hospitable. We were seated indoors right away (with a choice of in or outside). We received food, wine, and flight menus, but there was a lag to have our order taken (probably 10 minutes). However, closer to 5pm, there was a clear increase in the number of staff. We ordered::: truffled devil eggs, bacon wrapped dates, lamb sliders, bread/cheese balls, and a charcuterie board in additions to a few different flights of wine. Truffle deviled eggs - I’d skip. Super bland and no sign of truffle. Bacon wrapped dates - we received the first order and hit a second. It was that good!! Highly recommend you pair it with their Zuccardi Torrontes (an Argentinian white). The flavor profile is killer. Lamb sliders - fantastic! Great grill flavor with perfect accents. Pair with the Casa Silva Carménère. Chefs kiss. Bread and cheese balls - these were good, but unexpected. When they arrived, they looked like meatballs. Super savory and good but likely wouldn’t get again. Charcuterie - great deal! We assumed that with the tapas sizing, this would be a smaller board. It wasn’t! Lots of different components that we didn’t make a dent in. Went perfectly with red, white, and rosé flights. We purchased a bottle of wine to go, and the person helping us was super knowledgeable and helpful. In all, the somewhat lagging initial service truly didn’t last long. It picked up quickly and was outstanding. Would absolutely return!

Very disappointing! Great customer service, great wine selection! The food though. Lacks flavor. Ordered stuffed peppers and paella. Both were bland, maybe they are dumbing things down for the North Raleigh palate. Paid $30 for the paella and I can do better at home! I don't own a restaurant nor cook for a living. Lacked salt, garlic, onion, pepper, tomato, flavor. Lafayette village just needs decent food for decent prices, hate that shopping center

The service and atmosphere was very nice and inviting. However the food was sub par at best. Everything we order had absolutely no seasoning or taste. The chicken wings were overpowered by a cumin or some type of dark seasoning that was tasteless. The grilled shrimp was just that shrimp grilled with not even salt or pepper on them. The lamb sliders were so raw I could smell the blood and see it soaking in the bun 🤢 ( I sent those back and didn't want them at all) The smell of blood turned my stomach. The wine flights were very good. However I will not return here the food just wasn't it.

I loved the house salad but the owners daughter must not have listened to my request because it still came with tomatoes when I asked for none. We were not checked on at all which caused her to get a $2 tip. We were looked at in a way of less than we felt, so maybe that's why we weren't checked on. Bringing the food out we saw 3 different people and not our server. The first person brought out the appetizer. The second person brought out our waters. Then the third person brought out the food and it wasn't together it was at different times.

This tapas restaurant is something else and it's amazing!!! We loved it, the service was great, the food was super tasty and the whole environment was super relaxing and welcoming. This is a great place for date nights, groups and everything in between, definitely something adult friendly kid free environment. Their wine selection is really good. For food we went for the lamb sliders, caprese jumbo lump crab cakes and the grill honey/spicy swordfish all the food was another level, (the fish was our favorite) but everything else was so good that it melted in your mouth and their cocktail was really good if you are not into wine. We enjoyed all the food we tried and definitely will be back to try more of their food. The chef was out on the floor checking in with the guests and making sure everything was good, which is something you don't see often. It's a place to go for locals but even if it's your first time you feel like a regular and excellent service!!!! I will go back for sure and I will highly recommend it 🔥🔥🔥

Luciano, Silvano and crew are fantastic. Chef Silvano is an artist whose food tastes as good as it looks. Luciano has an encyclopedic knowledge of wine and always has great recommendations. It's my favorite restaurant.

First time there and it was absolutely fabulous! I wish I would have taken pictures of everything we ate but everything was absolutely fabulous and the wine ...the wine was amazing!! Such a beautiful and quaint place. I look forward to going back to try the rest of the dishes!

During my day exploring, I finally visited Vinos, nestled in Lafayette Village. Very nice spot for a nice glass of wine with an overwhelming amount of wine options for wine lovers. Perfect place to drop in for wine, cheese boards, tapas, and even desserts. You will not be disappointed. I had the Cabernet Flight, which was a burst of blackberry along with warm spice and vanilla, and I enjoyed it. Service: Only one person was working the bar, and that individual was also responsible for folks dining in and outside. He was fast, but I think stretching staff members short takes away from experience. Some people walked in and waited a while before anyone greeted them. There should be a host. No one should walk in and not be acknowledged. That's not the best look, but besides that, when that person was freed up, he did a great job servicing everyone. I get it times are tough, and it's important to keep businesses afloat, but rethinking this process would greatly improve the overall experience.

Yelp
We loved it. We got there early and were still greeted they gave us fan to keep any flies out. We will be back

Yelp
We sat outside on a beautiful summer night. Great setting that feels like a casual European cafe. They don't rush you. We ordered several appetizers and different entrees. The food and wines were all very good. The only thing lacking was the service. Our main server was great but then we finished with Ingrid who was not good. She definitely made our experience less enjoyable. She seemed high on something. That's the reason for the low rating. I took a few photos.

Yelp
Flights are the way to go here. Perfect spot to break up shopping in the area. The staff are very helpful with selecting the perfect drinks and small plates. The potatoes and chorizo are noteworthy as well as the empanadas. The lamb sliders were cooked perfectly. I felt like the ambiance matched the vibe of the food and drinks. Strong recommend for me, especially compared to some of the other places to eat and drink in Lafayette Village.

Yelp
Once thing I found quaint about the location of this restaurant is it is inside an outdoor mall that resembles a European-style village right in the middle of North Raleigh. The place is rather quaint but a little kitschy for my taste. The Bar and restaurant had a nice vibe. That wall of wine bottles definitely caught my eye. I particularly liked the colorful tabletops by the entrance in the dining area. The food was okay. It was not noteworthy but definitely serviceable and delicious. The salmon was a tad bland according to my wife. She preferred the honey glazed version at BJ Brewhouse over this. My paella was serviceable. I've had better though. Specifically, at Jaleo in Washington DC. I ordered the "Arroz a Banda con Gambas" and that blew my socks off. That's the problem with comparing similar dishes offered by great restaurants vs neighborhood joints. Once you've had the best, everything just falls short. I had an Argentinian Malbec and it was good. Not as good as the one I had at The Capital Grille or the one at Ruth's Chris but for the price, definitely workable. Service was attentive and prompt. Seating location was tight and badly lit. Not my favorite. I should've asked for a better table location. I'll give this a C. So here are the final grades. For the salmon, my wife gave it a B-. I'm giving the paella a B. The Malbec is also a B. Recommend? If you haven't tried Jaleos - then I encourage you to have the paella. Try something else instead of the salmon. I hear the tapas are great. Something I will try next time. I will definitely come back myself.

Yelp
Small little wine bar with a great selection of wines and tapas. Definitely on the pricey side but the service was good and a wonderful date night option.
google avatar

Raul V.

Yelp
Nice little place. Extensive wine list. Servers were very attentive and friendly. In addition to the pictures here we ordered the bacon wrapped dates and they were Superb and the deviled eggs were also very tasty. The grilled Romain Caesar salad is always a favorite of mine!

Yelp
I think this is a local gem that we didn't really experience until our friends told us to meet them one night -- they are "regulars". The atmosphere inside is so nice -- I mean that in a good way. It wasn't too much. It was comfortable to sit & eat & chat which made the whole meal that much better. (you know how some places just make you feel like you're taking up space?) Not Vinos. Service has always been great. The food coming out of that kitchen really is good! I feel like they've always got a unique approach to whatever it is on the menu (like the truffle deviled eggs or the avocado boats!) and it's something that you won't make at home so you enjoy it all the more. And the wine ... please! Get an Uber because you can't go here without ordering a bottle (or two) of the wines they carry.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food, was hoping for sangria. The tuna appetizer was delicious. My husband loved the panacotta dessert.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent tapas variety and wine place. Nice quiet ambiance. Pan-south-American fusion tapas rather than the classic Spaniard tapas. Service is ok but not fast.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
I love this place! I've visited Vinos Finos at least half a dozen times in the past several years, and I am never disappointed. I especially love the truffle deviled eggs and avocado boats. The paella is delicious as well. They have an outstanding wine selection, but I usually choose the Malbec because it's really good. Oh, and the $5 off yelp check-in offer is a nice bonus!
google avatar

Yelp
This place checks all of the boxes if you are trying to find cozy, delicious wine and dine tapas. Though there are no French reds options, there is a nice variety of wines overall, including flights options for sampling. We chose to share a few small plate selections, starting with a cheese board, followed by seared scallops, lamb sliders, and the crab cakes. Wonderful selection of desserts as well. We were well-attended to, and the pace of our dining was just perfect - not rushed nor slow. A really special dining experience. We will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Small, quaint, demure. Wonderful place for a cozy social event including flights and tapas. Have been many times and found many wines that I enjoy. The avocado halves are money but a charcuterie board is also welcomed here. Never had a bad experience. Would recommend.

Yelp
We stopped in a couple of weeks ago for a relaxing dinner. Vinos Finos is one of our semi-regular dining haunts in Lafayette Village. The atmosphere, service, and food quality is always top notch here. It's a nice place to go for a relaxing dinner and a glass or two of wine from the great selection they offer. On this date we came in for a late Saturday dinner. The place offers a menu primarily of tapas and a few large entrees. We started with the Burrata Salad and Spring Garden Salad. Both were delicious! The ingredients were fresh and both were tasty. Next up were the tuna tortilla chips and the octopus and potato dish. Both were tasty and satisfying. We skipped desert due to it being late but, the offerings looked really good. We will save that for the next visit. VF is always reliable dining option in Lafayette Village. Definitely check them out.

Yelp
Great service, sat outside in February, great food, highly recommended! Kayla.. you're the bomb! We ordered everything!

Yelp
I see why this restaurant has a high rating. Food was excellent, looks like art too nice to eat, and staff was friendly.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
We love this restaurant! The food is fantastic. Best paella anywhere! Everything on the menu is delicious. These days it seems like most restaurants are just so-so. Not Vinos Finos. This restaurant may just be the best in town - and the service is also wonderful.

Bill S.

Yelp
We really liked the small plates - crab cakes, shrimp, crostini, brownie w/ice cream . My wife loved the wine too. The plated food was exceptionally good. Next time we will definitely eat the large plates. We will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Vinos Finos was everything you want for a tapas bar. They had an excellent selection of foods, and a large selection of South American wines. We tried a lot of different foods including sneeze stuffed peppers, lamb sliders, tuna nachos, calamari, and meatballs. All of which were excellent Pro Tip: check in on Yelp to receive a discount off your final bill.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Fun vibe! Lafayette Village is a win for me. The Felino Cab was really yummy. Love that I can create my own wine flight. Can't wait to return.
google avatar

Yelp
A little pricey but the food came through! We had great and knowledgeable service. There is a nice wine selection with something for every price point. We ordered several small plates and shared everything. I highly recommend the lamb sliders and that grilled romaine Caesar salad WOW. You should definitely add chicken or some type of protein to make it a full meal. The paella had great flavor but it was a little dry in my opinion. They have a cute outdoor patio which is where we sat. The prices are more upscale but the atmosphere is pretty casual. This would be a great spot for a date night with your significant other or a little girls night.
google avatar

Logan M.

Yelp
The atmosphere/ambiance was perfect on my solo night out for dinner. The duck confit/sweet potato empanadas packed a lot of flavor and the lamb sliders were so delicious and cooked perfectly-- not overdone, juicy and tender. Service was amazing as well. For my drink I had a glass of Malbec as it's my favorite wine. They have 3 Malbec's to choose from. Dessert was tiramisu. It was very good though not so typical as it was served in a bowl.
google avatar

Angie S.

Yelp
Enjoyed some delicious tapas and wine with my friends for my birthday! What a great way to start my year :) great menu, creative titles, and cute little atmosphere. Great for date night or a girls' night out. Speaking of which, I definitely recommend the blind dates ;)
google avatar

Janina L.

Yelp
The atmosphere and food was excellent! I love to try the wine flights. The salmon is excellent. The Caesar is yummy as well, I just wish it was a traditional style salad. The potatoes are chef kiss!

Yelp
We were looking for a comfortable and quiet place to have a glass of wine before dinner and decided to give this wine bar a try. Unfortunately the most comfortable seats in the house which we intended to sit in were taken. We picked a quiet table in the corner instead, they do have many different seating options to choose from. They have a very nice selection of wine, both by the glass and bottle, based on the price of a glass if you intend to drink more than a few I would recommend purchasing a bottle. The menu provides an impressive selection of small plates to enjoy with your wine, I was pleasantly surprised to see they also have a good selection of wine flights and if your a beer drinker they also have something for you. Being an extremely picky beer drinker I even found one on the menu I would dive into, which is quite rare. The ambience is comfortable and relaxing, the music was quite good and it was very easy to have a conversation without having to compete with an excessively loud group of people or ridiculously amplified music. If your looking for a classy, comfortable and quiet place to relax with a drink and potentially some food to go with, give this place a try. Cheer!
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Very cute tapas and wine spot! Really high quality options at affordable prices. I got the Cabernet flight and liked all 3 of the selections. I also split the meat and cheese board with my friend and it was so tasty! This is the perfect date spot or girls night spot. There's a lot of shaded outdoor seating and indoor seating options as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Next up for a savory start, Vinos Finos Tapas and Wine Bar! We tried the fresh Meat and Cheese Board with fresh baguettes. That was a great selection of meat and cheese, and strawberry jam (served on the side), which was an experience unlike any other. I'm a cheese lover. The meat and cheese board was so picture worthy too! We tried various appetizer tapas that included: The Tuna Nacho are a killer! Each tortilla is crisped and topped to perfection with seared tuna, guacamole, and thinly sliced of jalapeño pepper with their speciality blended sauces. You can never get a lame chip. Their guacamole is stellar, one that can't be beat. The greenest, freshest avocados brought out the taste of the seared tuna with each bite. Next came the empanadas. You can tell that the empanadas were made fresh in house, with care: -Duck with sweet potato -Beef -Corn and Cheese What is a brunch experience without eggs? Every bite of the deviled eggs was a delightfully fluffy one. The Crab Cakes were surprisingly a monstrous amount of jumbo lump crab meat stacked and toasted to perfection. The hearty Grilled Shrimp were beautifully twisted and decorated, and full of flavor! Last but not least, the desserts were unbelievable! You can definitely taste the warmth and love of these delicious desserts: -The Pannacotta served with a side of sorbet definitely brought on the combination of deliciousness that's on a next level. This is a must try! -Cheesecake was perfect for sharing! I can't wait until the weather gets warmer to enjoy their patio seating. Next time I will order some wine as I shall be back!

Yelp
Really nice with outdoor seating which is open to the courtyard. The lamb sliders, shrimp and wine were delicious. Great service! I will be back!
google avatar

Mari H.

Yelp
We have visit a couple of times and it never disappoints. The steak and chimichurri is so good, paella very tasty, their steaks empanadas are very flavorful as well. They have a good wine selection too. Definitely will be back again as service has always been great.
google avatar

Yelp
A little late on my review since I have been here twice. Lafayette Village is a cool little place. What does Vinos offer? Well, first being the flights. One can pick a three glass flight of wines offering much in selection. The tapas is also great, personally I love the wings, which really are not wings, ok maybe they are but they are the best item on the menu, in short they are dangerous as I could eat a hundred! The stuffed peppers also need honorable mention. Oh, don't want to tapas they offer larger plates and lamb stew which is a home run along with other great choices. Great place!
google avatar

Yelp
My coworker Rosi has been talking about Vinos for months and months and have been trying to get a group of us to go out there after work (despite the fact that we work in Southwest Raleigh and Vinos is up in North Raleigh by 540.....). Finally, she dragged us all up there for a post-work outing and Vinos was amazing. I've been to Lafayette Village a bunch of times - I love Jubala, Zanyu, and Fresh Levant - but had never been to Vinos but will definitely be coming back in the future. The wine there is the best. If you're unsure about what you want, the staff that works there is extremely friendly and knowledgable and will give suggestions/recommendations. We ordered a few red wines - the Tikal Patriota, Ripasso Le Murate, and Juan Gil. They also have wine flights if you want to try a variety of different wines. We went on Wednesday and it's half-off bottles for those looking for a mid-week wine special. Food-wise, we ordered a bunch of tapas - the marinated Mediterranean olives, corn and cheese empanadas, and the house meat board with manchego instead of chorizo. Everything was really good! The desserts were great as well - we ordered the affogato and chocolate mousse (though probably not a great idea to order an espresso dessert late at night for me). The atmosphere is great and definitely quiet/cozy/intimate and would be a great spot for a date night as well.
google avatar

Lori R.

Yelp
Delightful & Delicious! And hello Wednesday! Half price for most bottles of wine with food purchase...otherwise known as the perfect place to land for a way overdue Sister's night out! This locally owned wine bar in Lafayette Village is cozy and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating options. The wine menu is loaded with enticing options. We were most happy with our half-price Argentine Chardonnay. Love all the wonderful options on the food menu as well. We chose to share the Chicken Wings with Cilantro Sauce, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Chile Sauce, Potatoes with Chorizo and Peruvian Yellow Pepper Sauce, and Grilled Romaine Caesar Salad. We loved all four. They were a delightful assortment, perfect for sharing! Desserts sounded fabulous as well, but we didn't partake this time. Service was just right...not too much, not too little. We both walked out patting ourselves on the back for making such a great sister's night out choice! Extra credit Vinos for the 98 sanitation rating!
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Gone twice. Atmosphere is great. Food was good. Service was better on the busier night but I am not sure what their staffing levels are. The server did a great job on both occasions. Price was reasonable for a Tapas restaurant.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Outstanding. Everything we had was beautifully plated, and more crucial, tasted divine. Service was great, thank you Kayla. Don't miss the scallops. Useful checkbox: Don't forget to check in on Yelp in case there's a deal.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Vinos Finos delivered a fantastic tapas and wine experience. I loved the wine flight options, you get 3 2-oz glasses of wine in each flight (you also get a sheet with descriptions and a section for notes served under it). I chose a red wine flight, the West Side Story. We split the blind dates, pequillo peppers, crab cakes, empanadas and meatballs for tapas. The must order are the peppers. We also really enjoyed the crab cakes with the huge pieces of crab meat and empanadas (we did one of each: duck confit & sweet potato, corn & cheese and beef).

Amy D.

Yelp
Vinos Finos never disappoints. It's our go-to at least once every week or two. Wonderful wine selections and we're very fond of the staff, which doesn't change often. Quite a testament to the management! The weekly specials are always scrumptious and well prepared.
google avatar

Cristina S.

Yelp
I came here for the first time after dinner and had some dessert and a glass of wine. The cannoli was very good. I would be interested in coming back to try their tapas menu
google avatar

Valerie V.

Yelp
This is a cute place. The menu is fairly eclectic. I felt like they could have had some wine glasses under $10 - this isn't a high end restaurant in my opinion. Laid back tapas place in a trendy area of Raleigh. The staff was great and attentive. The lamb slider was amazing. The truffled deviled eggs and the ahi tuna nachos were probably my favorite. This is a fun place with some friends for a night out where you can all share a few plates.

Tad K.

Yelp
Amazing everything. Can't see how there is any better place in town. The lamb sliders were a transformational experience.
google avatar

Shari R.

Yelp
Fun, casual, date, night. We had to try too many tapas so went home stuffed. Beet salad and dates were favorites. Wine list by the glass had standards and many variations that you can't find by the glass. Servers were timely, courteous and well trained. The sound of happy kids on the lawn was an added bonus. (I'm sure there's also screaming whiners, but we timed it right)

Sharon R.

Yelp
We eat out a lot in the Raleigh area and had lunch here on a Saturday and we were the only ones in there. That should have tipped us off. Everything was reheated. Very sad. Best dish was the chorizo with potatoes but the chorizo was so over cooked that it was hard like it had been microwaved too long. Wish Raleigh had a good tapas place. Service was very friendly but since we were the only customers...

Yelp
Stopped by here today after a short day at work. I just wanted some good wine and a snack. I came in and pulled up a seat at the bar. The decor was very simple and understated but it had a sophisticated vibe to it. They had many different types of wines there but I opted for the sweet flight. All the wines on the flight were very good. The flights were priced very well also. I ordered the cheese plate and it came pretty quickly and all the cheeses were very good. The warm baguette that it came with was also delicious. They played music here as well so that gave it a fun laid back vibe. Overall a simple drink and snack turned out to be a very good experience. I hope to come back and try some other wines that they have available and some of the other food on the menu.

Jean H.

Yelp
Love this spot. Great neighborhood wine and tapas. Great spot for a night out, especially if you live in north Raleigh.
google avatar

Allison K.

Yelp
Vinos Finos was perfect from their amazing South American wine options to the freshness and authenticity of the tapas. We ordered the goat cheese-stuffed pequillo peppers, handmade empanadas (beef, corn & cheese, & duck confit & sweet potato), herb marinated grilled shrimp with an amazing Peruvian yellow pepper sauce, and seared tuna over corn tortillas chips, guacamole, wasabi-ranch, and fresh jalapenos. They were all amazing but my favorite was definitely the seared tuna. The sauces that accompanied the dishes are what made them. I could put the wasabi ranch on everything! Their empanadas are definitely among the best I have had and surprisingly, the cheese and corn one was my favorite so don't skip it! The atmosphere here is perfect for a girl's night or romantic enough for a date night. My only suggestion that would've improved the experience is if they would have just one vegetable/green tapas option.

Yelp
What a great find in Lafayette Village! Although the outdoor tables were all full (@7pm on a Friday night in April), we had no problem getting a table inside (Note: the restaurant only accepts reservations for groups of six or more). The decor at Vinos Finos is smart and upscale, and of course the setting at Lafayette Village is charming. We tried four of the "small bites" on the menu: Goat cheese stuffed Pequillo peppers with basil olive oil; Herb-marinated grilled shrimp with Peruvian yellow pepper sauce; Seared tuna on tortilla chips with wasabi aoli; and Herbed foccacia crostini with roasted vegetables and melted cheese. All were terrific; we especially liked the shrimp, but everything was really, really good. The small plate offerings (there were about a dozen on the menu) range from $4 to $9. Wine flights are ~$14-$15 and each offers a 2oz. taste of 3 different themed wines. The wine list itself isn't extensive, but there are some nice bottles and most glasses are $7 to $11. We tried the Chilean Undurraga Pinot Noir; it was $7 per glass; bottle price was $26. An interesting point is that Vinos Finos is also a wine retailer. The Undurraga was priced at $15, if you wanted to purchase it. For a comparison, I checked this bottle on Wine Searcher, and prices ranged from $16.22 to $19.47, so Vinos Finos' pricing was very reasonable! Also of note is a Thursday night 1/2 price wine promotion (on bottles), which would definitely be worth taking advantage of. If you don't finish your bottle, they'll re-cork it so you can bring it home. Finally, I should note that Vinos Finos also offers a half dozen or so regular entrees and a couple of specials. Most entrees seemed to be priced $12 to $14; the specials were a bit more expensive. Our dinner - 4 small plates, two glasses of wine - was $50 w/o tip. I should note that one of the glasses I tried was $11 (Bread and Butter Chardonnay), which inflated the bill a bit. This would be a great place for date night, or fun casual dining with friends. The food was uniformly excellent. We'll definitely be back!! Edit - 4/13/15: it appears Vinos Finos does accept reservations for smaller parties, as the Yelp reservation app appears on its Yelp page. I based my comment above on what our waitress told us. Sorry for any confusion.

Yelp
The bacon wrapped dates, lamb sliders and empanadas were all big favorites. Great selection of wines! Love the outdoor seating and great service!

Yelp
A lovely date night at Vinos Finos Tapas and Wine Bar located in Lafayette Village. They had a great menu to choose from. Chose to go with the lamb along with their paella. Had been wanting to try paella for the longest time so I was excited when I saw it on the menu and it did not disappoint! The lamb was so tender and the paella was savory and delicious.

Yelp
This place never dissappointed us. It is situated in the Lafayette village which has lovely outdoor ambiance. We went with a large group of friends and ordered many different tapas. Alll of them were very good. Service was exceptional as well. Would love to go back anytime to have some good wine and nice tapas!
