We booked a New Year’s Eve dinner advertised as a “cozy evening alongside a crackling fireplace.” Instead, we were seated outside of the main restaurant in a separate room that felt like a last-minute setup, directly next to a large group of children attending what appeared to be a birthday party and photo shoot.
The children were running around the space and blasting music from their tablets at full volume throughout the evening, screaming at the top of their lungs, while a mom joined in on the screaming to advise them all how tobpose for an impromptu photo shoot that went on for 15 mins, making conversation impossible. Despite this, management made no effort to intervene, relocate guests, quiet the group, assist staff, or acknowledge the disruption in any way. The manager was visible in the area but offered no support or apology, which was especially disappointing given the premium pricing and expectations for New Year’s Eve.
Our server did his best but was clearly working alone. For the price charged, the lack of management involvement and oversight was unacceptable.
The food was slightly above average. The Caesar salad was served without dressing, and while the filet was cooked properly, both it and the potatoes were dry due to the absence of any sauce or jus. I was not offered a wine refill, and the tablet-only drink menu disappearing after ordering made it difficult to review additional options.
Overall, the experience fell far short of what was advertised and did not come close to justifying the cost for a New Year’s Eve dinner.
