"Old Florida vibes abound at this wine bar and restaurant, open for dinner only and located inside a 1940s cottage. Painted eggshell blue with yellow window trim and flowers overflowing on the balcony, it's impossible to drive by without wanting to stop. It's surprising to find such an elegant restaurant in casual Crystal River. If you're looking for well-prepared local seafood and continental cuisine, too (think rich French sauces and even escargot) there's lots to like. The she crab soup is my favorite starter, silky smooth and redolent of fresh crab with the perfect sherry bite. The wine is just as big a deal as the food. Vintage on 5th has been recognized as having one of the best wine lists in the world in years past." - Terry Ward, Laura Ratliff

What a lovely place with great a great selection of wines. Kasey was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the menu to us. We started off with the cheese tray and it was exceptional , the honey comb tasted so good! Then on to appetizers we had escargot and calamari with sauce on the side. For Entrées I had the duck and I loved the blueberry BBQ. My wife loved her filet we'll definitely be back it was a great date night!

Must go! We went 2 weekends ago and can still taste the savory flavor of the meals. Also, a very elegant nice place for couples to relax and feel special and well taken care of. Hoping to go back soon. We live in Tampa and get to Crystal River at least once a month.

I ordered the duck...delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful. The she crab soup was bursting with creamy flavor. The ravioli were huge and over filled. Restaurant, packed but not too noisy. Wonderful wine selection. Our server, Kasey, was awesome! Always on time to refill our glasses and more. Wonderful little gem of a restaurant in Downtown Crystal River.

Our entrees were perfectly prepared and plated. I can’t imagine any room for improvement. We were impressed with their wine options. I concur with the many reviewers praising the impeccable serving etiquette. Since many servers were mentioned by name, I’m guessing the owner or manager sets a very high bar for the staff and grooms them on ALL of the subtle and fine details. I’ve never seen a better groomed staff. Never did the staff remove a glass or dish without politely asking if they had permission to do so. I hate servers who make incorrect assumptions to save time. I, for one, appreciate such attention to detail. A James Beard nomination is in order. Congratulations!

This is a late post. On 11-11-2022, I ate at Vintage on 5th. I had the She Crab Soup and the Signature Pasta. The food was excellent!

Our friend made a dinner reservation to celebrate a birthday. We arrived and sat at our table, and our server went over the menu. We ordered our food, and shortly after our order was placed, our server came back to tell us that she was going to rush our order because there was another reservation coming after us. Another words she wanted us to leave in time for the next reservation. Yet we had made this reservation quite some time ago. So this sounded like they were overbooked. Nonetheless, it took forever to get our food. One point I would like to make is, one of the specials was a whole fish served on a platter with vegetables. I asked the server if it was a bony fish. She went into the kitchen to ask a chef and came back and told us that it was not. So it was safe to order it. Three of us in our party ordered the fish and much to our surprise and disappointment, the fish was mostly bone and hardly any meat. We mentioned this to the server and I was surprised no apologies from the chef or the manager nor offering a substitute was made. It was clear that all they wanted to do was serve us and get us out the door. Our host who made the reservation, spoke to the manager and express our disappointment. Our server did not even come back to check on us while we were eating to even ask if everything was OK. It was their loss because we would have loved to order more wine and dessert and coffee, However, we felt rushed and could tell they wanted us to leave. This is the rudest and most unprofessional service I’ve seen in a restaurant of this caliber. Our group goes out to dinner at least once or twice a week. I will never return to this establishment and do not recommend them whatsoever. The food was awful, and unprofessional service.
