One of the more fine dining options in Montgomery, I have put off the trying Vintage Year for a while because I was worried it might not live up to the hype or be worth the money. On a spontaneous date night we went full send with a four course meal and cocktails. Everything was spectacular and the service was top notch. We didn't need a reservation on a Wednesday night. The salad and the filet were both amazing. I hate how much I enjoyed it because I will be back soon, everything was great. Isaac was our server and he's great at his job. Revisited for our anniversary and Joshua took great care of us. Everything was great and worth every cent.

The food was absolutely fantastic—each dish bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that showcased both high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. From the perfectly seasoned appetizers to the beautifully presented entrées, everything tasted as amazing as it looked. The freshness of the food was especially impressive and truly stood out. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Our waiter was not only attentive and genuinely friendly, but also had a great sense of humor that made the evening even more enjoyable. He offered helpful suggestions, answered our questions with ease, and made sure we were well cared for throughout the meal. In short, if you’re looking for a place that delivers exceptional food and top-notch service, this spot should definitely be at the top of your list.

First time here and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful! The wait staff and bartender were all all awesome and the food was over the top! Lamb lollipop appetizer and Elk chops and creme brulee were beyond perfection! Thank you and we will be back!

We went here for my birthday a few days ago. Everything was wonderful!! The food was outstanding! We had a crab cake appetizer, one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. I had the 8 oz filet for my entree and it was cooked to perfection. We also had a chocolate bread pudding for dessert that they decorated specially for my birthday. The service was top notch, from the moment we walked through the door until we left, it was a great experience. Highly recommend!! We will definitely be coming back!!

Everything about Vintage Year is absolutely stunning! The decor is classy and not over done, the service is attentive, professional and very knowledgeable and the food is perfectly divine! We started with the Yellowfin Tuna which just melts in your mouth then shared the Passion Fruit Salad which was the daily special salad. It was definitely special, those passion pearls were fun and delicious! Our entrees were just as spectacular as the appetizers! Perfectly cooked filet and sweet buttery crab cakes made the entire meal unforgettable. Definitely worth the visit and will return when we're traveling through again!

Google
Really enjoyed our meal here! Would love to come back. Husband chose the restaurant for date night and I initially was nervous because I’m pregnant and picky now. But I liked my duck, the waiter suggested I get it “well done”, I’d like to come back and try it the chefs way. Well done was a bit tougher than I like. The cake was amazing! They also had a watermelon mint mocktail and I really appreciated that! As an appetizer we had the oysters, I honestly could have had more, maybe after I have this baby. The atmosphere is very “downtown” they have indoor and outdoor dining. Also a large party room. The wait staff is helpful and attentive.

Google
Very disappointed by the service that the waiter gave to us. He sounds very condescending and when got our order wrong, instead of apologizing, he trying to blame it on me, and even another waiter was telling him that he was wrong. I guess his 30 yrs of experience in waiting as he mentioned was not telling him to be mindful, be respectful, and being friendly to the customers at all times. It’s not like this is my first time at this place, but this time we very disappointed and hope that someday he will improve his attitude at his workplace when we go back again.

Everything was perfect! Celebrated my mom’s birthday. The food was very well seasoned and packed filled with flavor.

Yelp
The first great dining experience of 2024! If you find yourself in Montgomery - this is a must "eat" Chef is off the hook talented and this family operated restaurant (and it's 5 sister restaurants) will make for great dining experiences every trip.

Yelp
NOT ADA COMPLIANT! We were traveling & I85 was deadlocked due to a wreck. We decided to find something close & grab a bite to get out of traffic. When we arrived at Vintage Year, we were told service dogs were NOT allowed & we were refused service. After fighting traffic, I simply did not have the strength to fight this battle.

Yelp
Had reservation on a Friday night. 6pm. Seated quickly by a super friendly hostess. Service was great from start to finish; the hostess even walked me to where the restrooms were instead of just telling me. Husband and I had the wagyu steak and the duck; both entrees were delicious. We also had a side of brussel sprouts that were perfect. Server suggested sauces that went well with entrees and answered our questions. One note; the orange marmalade sauce he suggested, and I got with my duck was way too much flavor. My first bite and the sauce was all I tasted. So the first bite of sauce was the last....I got duck because I like duck. This would've been a 4 star review easily but......the ambiance. The restaurant is not big but the tables situated nicely so you could have a nice date night here. Unfortunately there is a bar on the end with several stools and two televisions (at least - I couldn't see to the end of it). It was LOUD in there. Typical bar noises, shouts and laughter that weren't out of line at all....they just took what could've been a lovely quiet dinner and made that impossible. I was expecting the Vintage Year to be that wonderful special place for a nice dinner out and was really disappointed with that part. EDIT: So in the reply below the suggestion is that I dine in the dining room. Ok; when I arrived I wasn't asked or given a choice of where to sit. That's where my husband and I were seated. First time there; how would I have known to ask? And I didn't suggest anyone could control the noise; in fact I said it was normal bar noise. No issue with that other than the fact I was having a $100+ meal sitting next to a bar.

Yelp
Wanted to love this place as a new comer to the area and community and we got sick. Yes sick, me and my husband were both extremely ill from the steak we ordered. No stomach issues from either one of us, and we eat all kinds of food. No allergies to anything. The steak smelled sour when we got it home and opened the box, almost a little off. But we both agreed it would probably be safe to eat. No . Definitely no. We both literally ran to the toilet multiple times all Saturday night and I am not joking my stomach was killing me. I have yet to call the restaurant... kinda hesitant but this was definitely not the experience I was expecting. I will say the crab cakes were phenomenal salad was great. But man the steaks were rotten. We eat steak often and no issues, also the fact it happened to both of us was a HUGE red flag. Also we got the exact same cut of meat.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've had in recent years. Excellent service, great atmosphere, and amazing food!

Yelp
Vintage Year is always a wonderful experience. Great food, service, and vibe. Burger and Bourbon is an extra treat.

Yelp
My husband booked my birthday dinner in the big city! We came from Ft Novosel to Christmas shop and have a nice dinner! It was really nice! We miss good restaurants! We cook really well ourselves but it's hard to find certain things in our "local" grocery. We decided on small plates and a couple of sides. My husband had the tuna which had herb seasoning crust with a nice aioli sauce and salad. We enjoyed it! Tuna is hard to come by in Enterprise or Ozark! We miss making our mango tuna spicy ball lol. I chose the quail! At home in Texas I'd hunt plenty! Oh it was so nice to have that again with MOLE sauce! Everyone makes that sauce different but it was pretty good! Mild but probably best for the area. The 2 sides We chose were the mushrooms and brussel sprouts. I liked the mushrooms best and my husband the brussels. Now the service was WONDERFUL! GOD BLESS THE SERVER! I ASKED SO MANY QUESTIONS! SHE WAS AMAZING! I forgot her name but she had a cute little baby bump. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the wine I chose to the whole menu and dessert! We opted not to get a dessert but had we not been so full it would have been the creme brulee

Yelp
Vintage Year is a perfect spot for dinner. The atmosphere is great. The tables aren't crowded together and the lighting makes you feel comfortable, but it's still bright enough to see your food. The hostess that greeted us was very attentive and welcoming. Samantha our server was very knowledgeable about the specials and she was very knowledgeable about the different drinks and wines. She was also very attentive and knew the menu very well and she was able to provide great recommendations. The seafood dynamite dip is definitely dynamite! It was so delicious! It was beautifully presented. The southern wedge was also very beautifully presented and good. It is so fresh, wow! The drink menu leaves nothing to be desired; the beer and cocktails are intentional and delicious, and the wine list is great as well. The food is excellent! We had an appetizer, main dish of half a rack of lamb, gulf snapper, filet mignonette, and dessert. Everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back so we can try more of the menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Montgomery, Alabama. Make sure you make a reservation because they do fill up, at least while we were there!

Yelp
What a lovely place! Produce is grown on site, menu and service were wonderful. Great date night or celebration spot.

Felicia B.

Yelp
I came in for dinner late T evening and was immediately seated for dinner. The restaurant is nice and inviting and service was good. I was torn between the lamb and the burger; T is burger night. The wagyu burger blend was calling my name and the server recommended the Old Smokey, with bleu cheese and a bacon jam. It was cooked as I ordered. OMG! What a flavor profile for the palette! It was so yummy! I had sweet potato fries also and they were good, just the right amount. I ordered the million dollar bar, which was described as a fancy Twix bar, after I heard guests at another table raving about it. It was delicious and came in 2 pieces. I ate 1 there and the other the next day. I can't wait to return and try another wagyu blend burger or something else.

Mariah R.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place. Phenomenal food all around! Fancy ambiance and excellent service. We highly recommend!

Yelp
Came across this location on a whim, and it's now a staple when I'm in the area. We even went twice in a week! Excellent service and vibes at both the bar and dining room. You can tell that the staff really enjoy working here. The Crab cakes are a must have. Honestly they have not missed with any seafood dishes I've tried. The Greek salad was wonderful. The burger is his go to- especially enjoys that they have burger nights.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Tonight was burger night and I went on a friends recommendation. Yum! Got the Fox burger, loved it! I'm trying the Great Fondue next time I'm here on a Tuesday! The fries were crispy. I could have gotten sweet potato fries or a mix but I went with regular fries. $5 glass of wine and I was set! It was so good! I could not wait to take a photo, I had to start eating right away. Service was outstanding. I was offered bread before I had decided on a meal and it was so soft and the butter was whipped, I had to eat it, even though I had a burger coming. Until next time Vintage Year! Had a great dinner!

Yelp
Went there for a business dinner last night. Had looked up the reviews and they were mostly great so I had high expectations. When you first pull up in front, it doesn't look like much but the inside is really nice. We had reservations so we didn't have to wait at all and were seated right away. We were still waiting on the the third person in our group, so we ordered a couple of appetizers. Our server suggested the butter baked oysters and the Vintage Seafood Dynamite. Both were disappointing and I think I got a bad oyster because I woke up in the middle of the night sick as a dog from what I could only assume was food poisoning. If it weren't for that, I probably would have been generous and gave it three stars instead of two. Anyway, moving on: I ordered the Chuck Short Rib, which was served Beef Wellington style wrapped in a puff pastry. When I cut into it, it was basically just one big chunk of fat with almost no meet and was very bland. Also, nothing came with it. No sides. No salad. No bread. Nothing. I checked the menu online this morning and it was supposed to have come with local mushrooms and carrot puree. Didn't happen. Being the portion was small and no sides came it with it, I was still hungry so I ordered the cheesecake with the baclava crust for dessert. They ended up bringing out the Smores cheesecake instead. At this point I didn't care and ate it anyway. Like everything else, it wasn't that great. My dinner companions entres didn't look very appetizing, either. The service was decent but nowhere near what you would expect from a high end restaurant, especially one that charges the prices this one does. Definitely would never go there again.

Chanelle S.

Yelp
I had such an amazing experience. The service was impeccable, food was delicious, drinks were delicious and ambiance was perfect.

Hayley S.

Yelp
Great food. Excellent service. Wonderful all around. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The cheesecake was from a local bakery, and it's amazing.

Yelp
Totally disappointed after eating at The Vintage Year on Dec 1, 2023. We were looking forward to a good dining experience with family. The quality of our meal was subpar. My husband ordered the filet mignon and was served the tail - overcooked and dry. The Crispy smashed red potatoes were dry and tasteless. I had the Gulf Red Snapper which was overcooked and dry. The kale had huge tough, bitter stems. We saw the bartender taste a drink - very unprofessional. Very disappointed in this meal and experience.

Paisley V.

Yelp
The is wine great, the duck is delicious, and seafood was tasty. It really quaint and cozy.

Aj W.

Yelp
Super happy we booked this restaurant for our Anniversary. Multiple staff members complimented us, as they clearly were aware of the occasion. The service was phenomenal; me and my wife both commented on how the server went above and beyond and the presentation made the experience that much better. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals - they had a seasonal salad with bacon jam and smoked blue cheese dressing that was probably the favorite! Desserts were awesome too, The cheesecake was locally made and the crème brûlée was very rich and creamy. It has a very unique vintage atmosphere, very elegant and classy. We will definitely return.

Yelp
So this was kind of a last minute add on our recent trip down to Montgomery. Looking for a place begore a show, we came across Vintage Year. We called ahead and were unable to get reservations (pretty last minute), but they indicated that outdoor and bar seating were first come first serve, so we gave it a shot. When we arrived they weren't very busy at all and there was one table in the bar, so we grabbed it. Service was really good and we really liked our bartender who doubled as our server. Very knowledgeable about the menu, not just the drinks. He helped us decide what we wanted to go with based on how he answered our questions. For starters we had a Cool Cat Lemonade - Cathead honeysuckle, peach nectar, house made lemonade - it was sweet, but a 5 out of 5 Berkshire Double Bone Pork Chop. No other way to put it ..... RIDICULOUS!!!! This is one of the most legit pork chops we've ever had. I can think of one other place that makes pork chops on this level, not sure whos I liked best, but this is a solid 5 out of 5. Even if you don't traditionally like pork chops, this will change your mind. 8 ounce Black Angus Filet with hasselbeck potato, broccolini, bordelaise, bleu cheese compound butter. This was so good! The compound butter melted on the filet was amazing! This was a solid 5 out of 5 as well. Chocolate Budino dessert. We got tempted into this, even though we were full, because of how good everything had been so far. To be honest, our opinion, this was actually pretty bland. It did pair nicely with the scoop of ice cream, but at the end of the day, I probably wouldn't get this again. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 (I'm being tough, because this is 5 star dining). All in all a great dining experience that is highly recommended.

Barbara W.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences in Montgomery. Lovely ambiance. Delicious food. Fantastic wine selection. Professional service. Eat in the bar or outside for something a bit more casual. Tuesdays feature gourmet burgers on the menu.

Mana L.

Yelp
This restaurant was so good. The food the drinks, the whole ambiance. Our waiter was amazing and wry attentive. I do recommend having a reservation, because they very booked up. The bar tender was superb. She made amazing drinks and STRONG!!! Perfect place for a date night

Amayah E.

Yelp
This is always a great place to come if you want a fancier side of town. The food is fresh and the cocktails are great. My favorite cocktail from here is the peach one, I forget the name but it's so delicious and perfect for summer. The wait staff is amazing as well and the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. Definitely come here for a nice date night, business meeting, or any other event that requires an above average establishment.

Nick L.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in Montgomery. Perfect for a date night. Perfect for an anniversary or special occasion. Perfect for a random Wednesday night when you have the kids away from you. Never had a bad meal. There in 20 years. It's wonderful, great ambience, great style and amazing chef.

G P.

Yelp
Even with the addition of the upscale Ravello Ristorante (by the same owners), Vintage Year retains its comfortable lead as Montgomery's best restaurant, for menu, character, authenticity, service, quality, and even value. If the weather permits, I particularly recommend dining outside on the reservation-free terrace: its refreshing lack of pretense allows one to appreciate the exquisite, natural, excellence of this place even more!

Patricia R.

Yelp
Get dressed for a formal dining experience. The dining area is well appointed and service is top tier. The is a very nice location to celebrate an anniversary or other similar occasions. The food is amazing and they have a great selection of wine pairings.

Leslie T.

Yelp
This was a great place to eat, although there was only one vegetarian option on the menu...It was delicious Squash Stew. I included the specialty cocktail menu...and feel honored that proprietors are aware of the need to support the AMCC and recognize all of us who are fighting cancer and honor those that have won the fight! R I wish I had the foresight to make reservations !!!! We sat in front of the restaurant in a makeshift patio, COVID seating. Next time I'll give this beautiful place a 5* review. Wee hours of sunshine sunshine and sunshine sunshine beautiful sunshine

J A J.

Yelp
Wagu Sirloin is incredibly tough to be called wagu. Obviously management tried this dish? The brussel sprouts are a rip off & look like field peas. Not a hearty presentation at all. More like a soup kitchen would prepare. Seems like it took a decade to have drinks refreshened. Or perhaps I was being punished for returning the rare filet that should have been prepared medium. We could just blame everything on the kitchen but then shouldn't at least good waitstaff send the obvious back for you. Also it is pretty cheap not to offer table bread at no charge. The new menu is ordinary. We had to keep asking for things. Flat wear, butter knife, coffee. Service was severely lacking.

Cara E.

Yelp
We were in town visiting family who frequent Vintage Year. We've heard from them how great it is, and we were not disappointed! All of our meals were delicious. The restaurant is nice inside, and the staff were very friendly. I'm looking forward to going back next time we are in town.

Grace Cinya O.

Yelp
Always a great meal when we got to Vintage Year. Look forward to our next visit! Yum!

Keith S.

Yelp
What a wonderful surprise! Great restaurant with so much attention to service. Every person that worked there was super friendly! We had the crab cakes (made with crab claw) and the pork belly. Both were superb! My companion had the steelhead trout and absolutely loved it. I had the duck. Normally I never order duck but gave it a shot. The chef recommended medium rare but it came out rare. They took care of it immediately and within a few moments it came back and was delicious. It was served with a yummy risotto with a hint of goat cheese. Desserts were cheesecake and gluten free strawberry shortcake. I personally don't care for cheesecake (unless it's ricotta based) but I had a few bites and it was quite good. The gluten free shortcake was a little on the dry side but I still liked it and ate almost all of it! Wonderful service, high quality, and an interesting diverse menu!

Shawn B.

Yelp
Last time I went my chicken dish was burnt and I had them take it back. I lost my appetite and they refused to take it off my bill and forced me to take home the same thing and made it again. I gave it away.

Matt J.

Yelp
Flavorful food cooked to perfection, nice atmosphere, I'm new to the south and this is the best I've tried so far here in Montgomery

Troy C.

Yelp
We occasionally dine here often and frequent the Cloverdale area for business on a regular basis. We arrived at 8:20 PM full well knowing that the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM but usually being seated before nine is adequate in most establishments. This is a Saturday night and we took our son and daughter-in-law out whom have not ate there before; We had other choices but wanted them to try vintage year. I open the door and the rest of the party went ahead of me and as I am trailing in I hear a young hostess tell my son and daughter in law "We close at nine so you may wanna go ahead and put your order in now". That was not the greeting I would have come to expect. Normally I would oppose such a rude greeting but in the effort of keeping it peaceful with my family I did not. It totally ruined the experience for us the service was otherwise good food was good but that is not who you want at the front door to greet at a ultra establishment as is portrayed by vintage year. I will leave you with this thought during COVID-19 customer service should be at a premium when in fact most places, labor shortage, notwithstanding it is at an all time low. This was evidenced last night by our less than stellar experience if management reads us I would discuss such matters with my hostess and greeting staff you want to be warm and welcoming not cold and disinviting.

Justin S.

Yelp
Such amazing food. Good drinks. The brunch was better when they had chicken and waffles but overall it's still a great place for burgers on Tuesday!

Jessica W.

Yelp
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner for my birthday. The duck was fabulous and the drinks were very good. I especially enjoyed the chocolate martini that I had for my dessert! We had to wait a while for the food to come out, but enjoyed a cocktail and good conversation while we waited.

Sherry B.

Yelp
I will start with there is not much of a selection in Montgomery, AL. That will give you some context for the high ratings. Drinks: if you like a stiff drink this is your place. They do not skimp. And the bartenders are skilled. Dinner Menu: Lacking flavor. They have come up with some menu worthy items but have failed to nail them. The prices and combinations scream a Chef is running the kitchen. The taste screams, we hired a chef to set up the menu and teach a few people to cook. Brunch: Also lacking flavor. Service also tends to be a bit rude during the brunch days. Note that brunch is almost non-existent in Montgomery so regardless of the taste people will flock here just to have something to do. Desserts: I can only say try at your own luck. Tuesday Burger Nights are actually good. The burgers are fresh and have flavor. A good burger and a good drink are always a great way to start the week. Hope this helps.

Glenn Y.

Yelp
With a new menu and new ownership this is once again one of the best restaurants in Montgomery. I have been eating in the space for now 40 years back to it's beginning as a wine shop. I am glad it has regained its former glory.

Zuri C.

Yelp
I went to Vintage Year for the first time for a birthday dinner with a friend. We opted to sit outside since it was a nice evening. My friend made reservations so we were promptly seated. Our waitress was very pleasant. She patiently went over menu items and made recommendations when asked. We had the creamy seafood dip for our appetizer. I had the snapper and my friend had the lamb. It was all delicious. This is a hidden gem in Montgomery. Give it a try.

Amber D.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing, the service was even better. It says causal dining but we were a lil uncomfortable in our everyday outfits, a little bit more classy. Our waitress definitely made our visits as well as the atmosphere :) it was fantastic. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area. But I highly recommend this place.

Marie C.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Started off with excellent customer service. Josh was attentive, helpful, and managed our large group without skipping a beat. Everyone loved their orders and some of us were tasting each other's dishes (bison burger, salmon, pork chops and more). The tandoori octopus is a must! The texture was perfect. A definite return .

Shena D.

Yelp
This was our first time dining at Vintage Year and they did not disappoint. As an appetizer, we had Pork Belly and Peaches which was delicious. My husband ordered the Gulf Snapper that was served in a broth. I tasted his Snapper and thought it was so good. However, he didn't think it was very flavorful. I ordered the Tempura Fried Airline Chicken, served with asparagus and arugula- yum!!! Ruthie was our server and she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I would have given this lovely place 5 stars if it weren't for my husband's thoughts on the Snapper. We'll be back for sure!!!

Cindy A.

Yelp
My husband and I have lived in the area for over 15 years and when we first moved here, we went to Vintage Year quite regularly. If it had been up to my husband, we would have eaten there every Friday night. The "pandemic" happened, they closed for a while, then opened up for "take out" only. The food was still delicious so when things got back to normal, we still ordered "take out" from time to time. A few weeks ago, we decided to make a reservation. Our reservation was for 7:45 PM on a Friday night. The first indication that it would go down hill from there was when we showed up and the Hostess informed us that our table was not available, YET. The previous guests were still occupying it. She told us we could either wait in the lobby area or we could sit at the small table in the bar area. We chose to sit at the table in the bar area and it WAS small. We sat down at 7:45, waited for our waiter to order drinks, ordered them and after they sat on the bar for over 5 minutes when my husband got up and retrieved them. We sat there with our drinks, waiting for a menu when my husband looked at his watch and said , "We have been here almost 45 minutes and we still don't have a menu". (We were just being ignored I suppose because we were in the bar area). It was then that I said, "let's just pay for our drinks and leave please". Of course we didn't. My husband's food was fine considering it was two crab cakes the size of marbles on a plate larger than the surface of our table and I ordered the Fra Diavolo. The description of my dish was: gulf white fish, scallops, shrimp, fresh linguine, cherry tomatoes, etc. What I actually received was risotto with strips of carrots, that was it. Not a shrimp or a scallop or even a "chunk" of fish in sight. During our meal the manager (I think) came by to ask "how was everything?" I started to tell him but I did not want to rile my husband. I had managed to calm him down and get him to agree to "let's just forget it and we won't go back". And we won't.

Ben W.

Yelp
Always great food and stellar service. This is truly some of the best Montgomery Alabama has to offer! Make a reservation, it'll be worth the time and you will not be disappointed! I recommend highly!

Paul N.

Yelp
The ribeye special at brunch was absolutely perfect. From the bloody Mary's to the breakfast potatoes and everything in between, two thumbs up it was wonderful!

Harriet M.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food For smokers a no go You must walk to the corner Fresh ingredients and I highly recommend the cheese board

Heather W.

Yelp
Always a good pic for date nights with my husband. We are also loving their Sunday brunch.

Babette G.

Yelp
First time there, was a great experience. The staff are great, if you want indoor seating when a tad chili make sure to reserve a spot.
