Super fun fruit fusion wine tasting experience! Lots of unique and well-balanced flavors; we appreciated the accompanying snack mix and Hershey Kisses!

Absolutely delightful tasting with an amazing host. Highly recommend & plan on coming back! All of the wines were tasty & surprisingly a Merlot was my favorite and I don't even like Merlots!

Had a great wine tasting experience here today! Brandon, the owner, was so much fun, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does. It was interesting learning about how these wines are made since they are different from your typical winery. Everything was so good that it was hard to pick just a few to purchase at the end. Don’t be hesitant to try them if you are a dry wine fan - I usually drink dry wines because I find most sweet wines too syrupy sweet, but these were delightfully fruit forward and sweet from the infused fruits. You can’t find something like this in the grocery store. I’ll definitely be back to purchase more!

Very good day out! Hospitality was off the charts as it was not quite dinner time but the owner made it happen for us and we were very glad she did as the steaks were AWESOME!! We came for a wine tasting and left after four meals and a bakers dozen of wine between the two of us!! Everything was excellent especially the crab cakes!! The steak!! The firecracker shrimp and last but not least the cheesecake!! Maybe we bought more wine than two people should but WHO ever says that? ..We didn’t think so either! 😅 Very good date!! Definitely would go again!!

My kind of wine. Good service.

We've seen this restaurant for years but never managed to make it in. Wow, did we miss out! We love good food, wine and craft beer and our only regret about this winery restaurant is that we didn't have our first visit ten years ago! Very seldom have I been somewhere that made me an advocate on the first visit, but Jennifer and her team absolutely served us one of the best lunches I've ever had. The black bean hummus was the best hummus I've ever had, even my picky 4 year old loved it. The crab cakes are awesome, the firecracker shrimp was delicious and the brownie with ice cream was off the charts. Great job, Vintner's, we'll be back soon!

Google
This is a wonderful place to visit with tasty wines and a very knowledgeable and personable host. Check it out for yourself, and I bet you will not leave without purchasing at least two bottles of wine.

Yelp
If you're expecting rolling vineyards and a sommelier swirling a glass while lecturing on tannins, think again. Vintner's in Yorktown is not that kind of winery. Thank goodness. Plenty of those wineries exist. This storefront is all about fun, fruit-forward wines that encourage you to not take life so seriously. One sip, and you'll get why some folks call it "Capri Sun for adults". But instead of poking a straw through a pouch, you get to drink from a wine glass like the grown-up you pretend to be. The new owners have kept the heart and soul of the place alive, creating a relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious vibe. It's not a destination winery where you spend all day. It's the kind of place you visit to sample, find your favorites, and keep coming back to restock. And you will want to restock. Pro tip: Make a reservation online before you go. And maybe don't bring enough charcuterie to cater a Renaissance fair feast, unless you're ready for some friendly teasing. Either way, you're in for a fantastic time and some delicious, boldly fruity wine.

Yelp
It's not clear to me if this is still a restaurant as the website and when I visited for a wine tasting, there was no menu. My friend and I stopped in for a wine tasting. They are offering wine tastings on the weekends and usually at specified times per the website but the location was empty so they let us walk in. The wines are fruit forward but not syrupy. I prefer wine a bit drier but can see these being favorites at festivals or for those who don't love traditional wine. The wine tasting was $15 and we tried 8.

Yelp
I enjoy the 25min drive to Vinter's for a quick tasting and wine pickup. The owners are welcoming and want to ensure you like what you are buying, so complimentary tastings always happen when we come here. Their wines are a mix of traditional wines like Zinfandel, Pino, mixed with different fruits and flavors. Definitely in line with my wine palette. I also love to following them on FB when they are offloading wine at special prices.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I last visited this establishment. I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner when I went to the Coastal Virginia Magazine Winefest 2023. We talked about some of the changes that had occurred since he took over the place. I was saddened to hear that the restaurant part of the business had closed down because in the past, I had enjoyed several of their offerings. I picked up a bottle of their wine at the Winefest and wanted to try others since the White Cranberry Pinot Grigio was amazing. We made plans after realizing that the wine tasting had very limited hours (per their website). We drove to Yorktown from Virginia Beach and were disappointed when we got their and the establishment was closed. We checked both Yelp and Google and both stated it was open. We even called but no one picked up. Not sure what happened but to say we were all disappointed is an understatement. I will probably give this business another try in the future since the vibe, food and wines were all good in the past.

Yelp
I didnt get to visit their location. I was able to sample their wine at a local wine festival and it was amazing. I ended up buying their blueberry (bear paw) and black currant ( black majick) both are my new favorites.. Will actually be back to purchase at their winery....

Yelp
Wine made in-house that tastes absolutely delicious. I would have never known this cute spot was here had me and my friend not walked in to check it out. No regrets!!! We booked a table for a Saturday evening, whilst we were by far the youngest in the restaurant area, everyone was there for the same reason. To taste wines, and decide on what to drink a bottle of with our food over some live music. Our server was delightful; she asked what our favorite style and types of wine were and went on her way to come back with plenty of bottles to try. Now I'm usually a white wine kinda gal, and I like it sweet and fruity - I ended up drinking a bottle of red to myself. It was delicious. Black Majik (Pomegranate & Blackcurrant Zinfandel) & Bear Paw (Black Raspberry & Blueberry). Yes please. The food wasn't too badly priced considering it was fine dining style and all was presented very aesthetically, plus the goat cheese and parmesan polenta was to die for! Sadly, we weren't warned ahead that the creme brûlée was out... This place would be amazing for a bridal shower, or bachelorette, or even a birthday - have a private wine tasting! There's plenty of room! If you haven't stopped by and you enjoy a bit of wine, or feel like creating your own (yes - you can really do that here!) why not pop in?

Yelp
This review is based solely on the wine. My gf & I did a wine "tour" here from a Groupon deal. I wasn't expecting much, but was still disappointed in everything. The cheese & fruit tray was perhaps the lowest quality items they could provide. I'd compare it to Kraft sliced cheese, a few grapes, cut strawberries, and crackers. See the picture for a better understanding. When given our wine glasses, I had to twice send mine back because of lipstick marks. Didn't like ANY of the wine served. The wine here just isn't good. We walked out without tasting the last of the sangria, because we valued our time over their products. If I will say one positive thing, it's that the food looked tasty.

Yelp
Wow! Hats off to the chef for everything he made for us tonight. I wasn't expecting much when my wife said lets go to Vitners Cellar. Showed up around dinner time and there was a private party in the back area yet we were quickly greeted and served. My wife asked about sweet wine and our hostess was awesome and brought two handfuls of bottles that she was going to have her try out. The food was outstanding we all had different dishes ranging from prime ribs to pasta formaggio all delicious. I added a side of risotto because I was judge a place by its risotto if it's on the menu. I received and bit into this this delicious take on Italian deliciously full of cheesy flavors and hint of white wine. I really recommend! Ordered two desserts, creme brûlée and bread pudding both delicious! Just a tip everything is made from scratch so be patient and enjoy all the wines and craft beers in stock. I recommend this place to all my friends and we will make this a weekly habit.

Yelp
The wine tasting was great with many different wines explained and sampled. We stayed for an evening meal and took a look at their operation. We loved the passion and dedication presented by this small but nice family business. By how we were treated it was clear that they truly wanted to please us. Our supper was fantastic! We looked at the menu and ordered when the wine tasting started and got our food right at the end. Perfect timing. The Atlantic Salmon was done just right and was a very nice sized portion. We were also happy to see that the veggies were not just something out of a bag but very fresh. The fried clam strip supper was almost double the size expected and the seasoned fries that came with the entree were hot and perfect. I always hesitate on the coleslaw because I am hard to please. This slaw was shredded not chopped and with right mix of vinegar to mayo. It was fresh and perfect. For us this place was a winner and we will return if not for the wines for a meal always.

Yelp
The wine is basically welches grape juice or other fruit flavors. If I wanted Boon's Farm I would have purchased some. They are rarely open. Took three tries to go when they were actually open. When we got in the place and said we wanted to do wine tasting the waitress was lovely. Say us down. Told us the Groupon was a waist of money. Groupon says "50% off tasting and cheese plate. Normally $40, now $20 for two." My sister and I paid out of pocket for the two of us and it only costs $20 for the two without Groupon. Additionally the cheese plate they talk about is some butter crackers and pre sliced cheese on a small round plate, nothing like the pictures. The owner came out and complained that we were there. "We are suppose to be closed. We are out of so much wine." More people arrive and more complaining about having paying customers. Go elsewhere for good wine and a good time.

Yelp
Amazing wings and barrel fries. The wings tasted smoke and we loved the cheese and aioli on the fries. The wine selection was good. My husband really enjoyed the dessert wines they make in house.
google avatar

Tammy M.

Yelp
Such great service.... I was not expecting that they make the wine onsite. I'd definitely love to come back to ask questions as the wine maker gave me good info about the reds, cabs, & merlots. I love dry wine so the first serving was a little to sweet for my liking .but the petit Bordeaux was perfect! Plus it was paint night so the scene was perfect . I will be back soon

Yelp
You can create your own wine and all the wines that I have tried here or absolutely delicious and the staff is amazingly kind we really do love this restaurant the atmosphere is adorable and romantic. The food is also is fresh and prepared with care. I had the crab sliders and creme brulee.... so delicious!!!

Yelp
Vintner's Cellar Winery is a bit unusual. It sits in a strip mall and feels more like a restaurant. The owner is knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. They have plenty of wines to taste and buy. Good for large groups and for those who aren't wine snobs.
google avatar

Donna L.

Yelp
A must go too! We visited for a wine tasting. The owner & waitress were so personable & the wine was awesome. We tasted about 15 wines & I loved 11. I wanted to buy all 11 but I had to settled for 4. I'm going again with friends maybe I'll get food this time.
google avatar

Sheena R.

Yelp
We did the wine tasting there. The wines were unique and really tasty. The food was really good. Tried the small plates clam strips and it was so yummy. The barrel fries also hit the spot. I would definitely recommend to try their wine tasting and their food. We came back home with 2 bottles of winThe owner was really nice!

Yelp
I am a huge fan. The owner is a pleasant person and gives it all she's got. Very fun staff and entertaining as well. I've enjoyed coming here to just relax and drink their White Cranberry Pinot Gorgio wine...yum yums! I've attended a couple of Paint Nite events at this venue and like always, the staff were helpful and food were fantastic. Food = Delicious + Huge Portion, you will not leave out of here feeling hungry!

Yelp
Vintner's Cellar is a small town secret! They have a full list of beer and wine and beautiful decorations. The tablecloth tables and unique menu choices make it a special place. They have live music every once in a while as well! I had the French bread appetizer which was delicious with the sauce. I also had the Brie sandwich which was delicious as well!
google avatar

Mitzi E.

Yelp
I had the French Quarter Pork Chop on cheesy polenta and Oh My Heavens!!!! It was by far the best meal I've had in VA since I moved here in 2015. The Razzle Dazzle wine and the cucumber melon wine were to die for and the company and service were amazing!! It was like sitting at a family dinner table!
google avatar

Richard G.

Yelp
Update: Second time here, and the service was worse than before. Wine was just not good. What kind of wine bar doesn't keep pinot Grigio chilled? The food menu, like the first time, looked interesting. Unfortunately, like the first time, the service was so poor that I never got the opportunity to order food.
google avatar

Myrical G.

Yelp
We stopped here on the way home from the OBX. The reviews brought us in and they didn't disappoint. We called ahead to confirm they opened at 11. We arrived at 11:20 and were greeted by the owner, Jennifer, warm and welcoming. We started off with the nachos and a wine tasting. Orders around the table included the burger, prime rib sandwich, crab cake sandwich, mozz app and Cobb salad. No one was disappointed. The food and wine were exceptional. The service was great and prices reasonable. Took a bottle of cab franc home. We will be back when passing thru on 17!!

Yelp
My wife and I dropped in unannounced on the folks at Vintner's to enjoy a wine tasting. Their choices of wines was quite interesting to say the least. Hearing about their winery process and getting a view of the on-going process was great.

Yelp
I almost don't want to give away how great this place is because I feel it is the best kept secret in Yorktown! Wine is FANTASTIC! You can even make your own (with your own design label). Lots of fruit wine. Lots of dessert wine. Lots of wine I've never even heard of. Home made sangria. Local beer on tap. You can do a tasting, you just have to ask. But do yourself a favor and order some food. It is even better than the wine. The food is incredible. Let me repeat, INCREDIBLE! The chef blends all these unique flavors together and creates the fanciest, most epic tasting meal. Even the hummus is out of this world. You want maple bourbon pecan wings? They've got them. You want orange aioli sauce for your crab cakes? They've got it. You are also gonna want the dessert. I like the bread pudding with homemade caramel sauce, but the cheesecake with berry compote is also exceptional. If you go on a weeknight and nothing special is going on you and your friends can sit in the back room-and it's usually empty.

Yelp
Going to sit at home in our PJs tonight. We stopped in for a bite before we go stock pile on appetizers, dessert & drinks for our 3 people NYE tradition of staying home. We walked in, waited a while, said hello a few times, wandered around the place. It was open, lights on, no one there. Hubbs called them on the phone to see if they were even open after a few minutes of waiting & wondering if they were even open. We would normally not wait this long anywhere else, but we LOVE their food. Chef Emil (sp?) answered the phone, he was in the back prepping for tonight's New Years Eve dinner. He came out greeted us, went back for our drinks. We ordered lunch only, no dinner items till about 4. Had a glass of Coconut Breeze wine, ordered 2 bottles to go. The owner came back in & brought us a sample of her Sangria. We bought a growler & had it filled. You bring it back for refills at $18 bucks a pop. For what it is, very much worth it. She let us know on Valentines they have reservations & it fills up quickly. I think we will Uber & have Valentines here. We never go out on V Day, too crowded. But we might have to make an exception.

Yelp
Wine tasting was amazing. The mozzarella sticks I ordered came out prefect. Not your average mozzarella sticks I'll say. Great presentation on the wine tasting and the food we ordered. Will refer friends and family there and will return with my wife myself.

Yelp
My Favorite place in the area hands down!! I love the food the wine is awesome. The staff is so welcoming that I came back twice in one week!! Once you come to Vintner it's hard to break away! I can't wait to go back!! I'll recommend this place to anyone on any day!!!!!

Yelp
I came here for the first time for a group event. I'd driven past this place a few times but for one reason or another always overlooked it. Well overlook no more! This is one of the best restaurants in the 757. They also bottle their own wine. When you walk in there is seating near the bar area or you can go in the dining area where thwley normally have live music. They also have small room for larger groups and privacy. Onto the menu.. They have a pan made mozzarella dish (similar to mozarella sticks but better) which is amazing. All the entrees are delish. The last time I went I had thw French Quarter which is a blackened 8oz pork chop with polenta and green beans. Bottom line, everything is amazing here and I would recommend to all.

Yelp
Visited vintners for a tasting because of the groupon. We arrived super early and started with the barrel fries. They did not look like they were made in house but once we tasted them it was obvious that they had been prepared in house and with love. They were really delicious...crispy, salty, slightly spicy. The fruit and cheese platter was weird, it didn't taste bad but it was lacking and really tiny. The wines were interesting. Not to my taste but I could definitely see where someone would like them. Many of the wines were more sweet in variety. One of the 3 of us liked the flavors and the other 2 found them interesting, but not to our taste. What we found disappointing was the minuscule amount that was given by the Sommelier during the tasting. This wasn't my 1st tasting and we were given like a quarter of an ounce to taste. There were many wines in the tasting, 9 or 10, but you could barely tell what you were tasting because there was so little in those glasses and the flavors at a point started to blend together.
google avatar

Ronnie L.

Yelp
This place is wonderful for lunch!!! They are always so friendly and helpful with wine selections. They even let you taste a few before picking a glass. The food is outstanding !!!! I highly highly highly recommend the pita chips and hummus!!!!! Oh my goodness it is incredible!

Shanée M.

Yelp
Second time coming to the wine tasting and you have to wait at least about 5 minutes in between a tiny tasting. There's about 20 people and one lady serving. I really think it would go better if there was a other person serving.

Sarah B.

Yelp
First time here, overall good time but a few pros and cons of course! I would recommend purchasing the groupon that comes with a cheese platter because otherwise you don't get anything with your tasting. There was a good selection of everything- White, Red, Dry, Sweet & Fruit. There were a few downsides.. 1: not being able to take your glass or there even being an option to purchase it. 2: Having to make a reservation & not having many time options to pick from. To my knowledge you need a reservation but I'm honestly not sure if they allow walk in tastings. Lastly, there was only 1 lady doing the pours for a group of maybe 15-20, so it is a little bit of a wait between wines, but the lady (Kelly I think) was super nice and knowledgeable!!

Yelp
Amazing place where you wouldn't expect the great hospitality, different wines and wonderful food. Highly recommend this to anyone in York County.
google avatar

Yelp
Great bourbon pecan wings and fries mozzarella cheese- great Fun staff - great place to chill
google avatar

Yelp
What a quaint place for an awesome meal, glass of wine, live acoustic music and friends having a good relaxing time!!
google avatar

M L.

Yelp
I had the sourdough club w/ cranberry chutney, spinach, brie, black forest ham & turkey. It was loaded w/ flavor & very fresh. For a side I had the Caesar salad. Fresh lettuce, not bagged. The dressing was not over powering like some. Their lemon blueberry cheesecake was delicious, but I don't feel worth $8. It was a large, thick slice though. There does not seem to be a lunch crowd, so you can get in & enjoy a quiet meal w/ friends. I cannot comment on the wine part if the business since I did not have any. I am told you can make your own there. There is a large, comfortably decorated room where you can have gatherings. There is also a small stage for live music. Their Facebook page has loads of information on specials for each night. I'll certainly go back & take friends.
google avatar

Brooke H.

Yelp
Had the best Veal Marsala here. The presentation was amazing as well as the taste. The people working here make you feel at home. We will defiantly be coming back!! Great place all around for sure!

Aylin R.

Yelp
Amazing hospitality and great wine tour. Food was amazingly fresh and delicious. Loved the vibe too. Not sure what some of the younger folks reviewing below were expecting...but as more experienced customers...we will be back!!! Best kept secret in the County.
google avatar

Krista R.

Yelp
The wine was good. However, they were out of the house Cab (that's a crime), as well as a few others. Also, the bathroom didn't have a lock (that I could see) which was fine, but it's a unisex bathroom so that's a little concerning. Lastly, the service is super slow, so don't come super hungry. Overall, we will probably return...just for the wine (it was yummy).
google avatar

Cody J.

Yelp
Excellent food and wine!! We live about 45 mins away and we usually find ourselves here often. The fried mozz is the best I have ever had and the wine selection is huge!! If you want a special wine, the will have it or can make it. The atmosphere is very homey and there are separate rooms for small parties and large events. We had our sleeping 3 month old in one room and a big cChristmas party in the other room, no issues. Def be ready to take a few bottles of wine with you!!

Wendy P.

Yelp
I lived my dinner. The staff waitress was great the owner comes out and visits. I had the chicken Marsala which was Devine but it was fried chicken. Gravy was delicious. My husband had the morning moms chopped salad and loved it. Great place to go for a great wine and dinner!
google avatar

Lou M.

Yelp
I went here a few weeks ago just to check it out since it's not too far from my place. They offer unique wines that they bottle themselves from their vineyard. You can buy wine by the glass or bottle. The food here is ok, not the healthiest selection. It's worth checking out if you're not starving and you want to throw back some wine.

Natasha H.

Yelp
I discovered this place after taking my car to get serviced across the street. My husband and I decided to come here for lunch, as though we are long-time residents around here, we never noticed it until that day. Not only were we impressed with the food, wine, and service, but the owner was just a joy, and we loved her personal interaction with us! We have since come back several times, along with me bringing other family, and we are always so satisfied with our experience. Definitely a favorite local hot-spot, as far as I am concerned! I am here right now enjoying a lunch by myself, with an amazing glass of red wine, and true to form, I am highly pleased!!! CHEERS!!!
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
This is my favorite local restaurant! The service is outstanding. You feel like family here. I have tried a number of items on the menu but my absolute favorites are the crab cakes and the barrel fries- so delicious. Definitely don't miss a sampling of the custom wines. Whites and reds are both delicious and as a home run for each season. Don't miss this hidden gem in Yorktown.

Natalie R.

Yelp
Ok so this place confused me. It is not a true winery. When you walk in its a bar. There are drink specials on various chalk boards and jello shots in the fridge. I had a mixed drink and it was not bad. However, we had also come in for wine. We look at the wine menu which is xeroed crooked. Opted for a flight to share. I am glad we did. Very few of the wines were any good. They tasted young and somewhat sour. Not to mention the one doing our flight kept leaving us to chat with others for extended periods of time. I almost thought she forgot about us. When we completed our flight I asked her about aging and she admitted due to demand she is only producing barely aged wine. That would account for the green taste. The staff were all friendly which I loved. But somewhat too relaxed in the sense that it takes a while to get your drink. I am all about a relaxed atmosphere but if you have a winery you should provide a flight and wine menu in a better way. I did not have any food but the staff mentioned it a couple times. I believe this may be their main selling point.

Yelp
Found this place during a Paint night event. Since then I have fell in love with this place. The food is great and the wine is fantastic. Took my mom while she was in town and she loved the wine and the nachos. It's a great atmosphere and excellent service.

Amelia B.

Yelp
Great experience at this winery. I was given a gift card, so I went for a tasting and dinner with a friend. The owner is so passionate about her wines. It was nice to see how proud she is of her work. The food was fabulous. I had the scallops. They were tender, obviously fresh. The service was excellent, and the staff was so friendly. We will definitely come again. Lovely evening!

Yelp
Excellent place from small or large groups. The food is incredible and so is the wine selection. Truly a hidden gem. I'm so happy they restarted their brunch because it was a great place to sit outside and enjoy food, wine, and friends.

Shannon L.

Yelp
I recently had a 50th anniversary party at this winery for my parents. The food was tasty and the service and owner were great to work with. I recommend having a party at this winery.

Mike H.

Yelp
Absolutely the best $6- hamburger and fries I have ever eaten! Wow! If you like burgers, you gotta try this place on burger night. It is their Thursday night special, ie...only available Thursday night. Let me repeat, best burger ever is only on the menu on Thursday. Wednesday is wing night. Tuesday is taco night....oh, they are also worth the adventure. Weekends go for the music, wine, and award-winning chef. (Yes, he is the artist behind the dishes every night...and well worth a taste. Magnifco!...but don't tell him....it might go to his head) Wine, beer, spirits, and even great asting water...but be sure to ask to taste the wines before pairing.
