Wow the gentelman behind the desk was a very polite respectful and a lucky man I must add. Whether he's the owner or not I wasn not that it matters much. I just appreciated his time and the knowledge he had for this place and it's becoming. It feels good when someone could answer your question when you really want to know. Lol Now the good parts. The interior design. Those three words explain it well enough. It's not common to have alot of square feet in Manhattan or if you come up with any you pay alot for it so the designers were able to take a different and unique ahaooed space and turn itno this present design that gives it light length space and basically room. The setup of the bottles with the bending shelves and the horizontal viewing angle he focused on was genius. This designed allowed the customer to realize that this place is huge and it keeps curving and extending down the other end. It's absolutely genius and one of a kind. Never see before and it brings class and sofistication to the store. It fits the areas culture & prestige making it stand out among fine wine locations and frankly giving it the excuse to over peice or even simply price whatever they want just by acting as if to become as if and boy are they it. In all my travel this takes the prize for best design for s wine and spirit retail store. It surprised me by being different and the glass walls and doors added to the curiousity of what else is in there. It brings you in the store and every retainer knows that whole point. Enjoy it and try the selection as it's categorized by countries also another unique and different feature that actually works for them. Great job.

So grateful for this place and the service! Had a last minute gift request to ship wine out of state- Ken the associate helped me to not only pick out a good variety of wine at a decent price point but work with me on the shipping with FedEx to ensure it got to the location on time. Really happy and looking forward to using this service again.

I have conflicting emotions about this place. The first time I went there, I received excellent service from one of their employees, which impelled me to come back despite the fact that there are several stores closer to my apartment. Unfortunately, when I returned, the woman who was helping us was condescending and mocked us in front of the other employees. I probably will not go back, as I expect much better treatment from a high-end locale.

The folks at Vintry seems to be careless. I ordered three bottles of 2014 fine Bordeaux wines. They shipped them in the middle of the winter, with temperature at 20 F, without any prior email consulting! I will never order any wines from this store again.

What a hidden gem tucked away by the Conrad. Great selection and really great prices. The owners know their wine and in their recommendations, don’t try to upsell. Worth going out of your way for.

Pretty unfriendly staff chatted with each other while I browsed, never saying hello or can I help. They barely acknowledged me as I paid, only asking if I wanted a receipt. Good selection, high prices, no service...you decide if that's what you want

Came here with a friend who was in a rush and needed to grab a bottle of wine. This place is pricey, but to be expected for that crowd that needs to grab a bottle en route to the train or exiting the train. Ideal spot for a business, not to mention their rent must be high. Selection is nice, not my first option because of the price, but nice.

Paul and team couldn't be any nicer! They treat you like a friend of the family not just in helping you find the perfect bottle but also in giving advice on things to do (and not do) in NYC. They are very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. (Near the WTC and Oculus Station.)

Nice wine shop Was looking for a nice Bordeaux from the Downton Abbey collection unfortunately they didn't carry it, but not slot of wine shops do. Friendly staff. Didn't purchase anything

Very positive experiences here. I've found staff willing to go far above and beyond to answer questions, make suggestions, assemble cases, provide educational material for tasting context, etc. Top notch selection that addresses both ends of the price spectrum. One of our go-to resources in the area... can't say enough positive about them.

Nice selection of wines but pricey and customer service is the worst! Every staff member (with few exceptions) act as if you don't exist. They are the most unfriendly, unhelpful bunch of people you will ever encounter. I purchased two (2) bottles of wine, no one offered to help me or even acknowledge my presence and I'm a past customer. Of the four employees, two (2) were having a loud conversation/argument in the store room, one (1) was helping a client and the last one was surfing the internet. The only words spoken to me the entire time I was there were "Here you go." (as she handed me my credit card). No exaggeration! No "Did you find everything you were looking for?", "Hello.", "Thank you.", etc.. So many other friendly customer oriented wine shops nearby.

Some of people who work here don't wear face masks, even when talking directly at you within three feet. And they roam around the store. Too bad. They have a nice selection of wines.

I just discovered Vintry. I had been searching for a specific vintage of a favorite Rhone Valley wine in a magnum format. I found Vintry on wine-searcher.com. First, they have in stock what they say they have in stock, which is not always the case. There is a lot of bait and switch that happens, but not Vintry. It is refreshing when looking for specific wines and specific vintages. Second, their selection is ridiculous. I have spent all morning going through their stock, and it is beyond impressive. Prices are spot on. I cross referenced some of the prices on both mid priced, and higher end wines before my purchase with some dealers I regularly buy from and they were almost exactly the same. Third, the customer service I received was very professional. Quick and efficient. I am going to venture out and guess that issues in previous reviews have been resolved. They have a very professional, and classy operation. I am happy to have a new spot to wine shop at, and feel confident purchasing from them. I look forward to attending some of their wine events.

Great service, they really helped me pick out a good bourbon told me the whole back story and how it is made gave me a great recommendation and also helped me pick out some New Zealand wines

This store has the most beautiful presentation of wine that I have seen. It's a gorgeous store that winds round and round and the wine is all clearly displayed and looks gorgeous. So five starts for that. The selection is excellent. We were greeted by 2 female staff members and asked twice if we needed any help. We were just browsing so we said no and continued browsing. We ended up purchasing 2 bottles of wine, spending about 90.00. We could have spent much much more given the prices here range from 25 and go way upward. My experience with the staff was fine, I suppose their demeanor is a little frosty, but they did ask if we needed help and the check out experience was fine. I can see how they may come off as snooty, but I did not really experience that. Prices are marked up maybe a dollar or 2 compared to other stores, nothing to deter a visit.

This wine store is amazing. Staff is very friendly and know what they are talking about. I never leave without buying something. Often they have tastings with food. Also have an excellent selection of spirits. Located right near Shake Shack and Payard (a deadly trifecta). Since I am back downtown I have been coming here more often. Gold standard of service.

I think they've improved their interaction with customers since my June 2013 review. I no longer feel compelled to look for an alternative. It still caters to the high end.

I was in a big hurry and gave a brief idea of what I needed. They nailed it! I was in and out in 2 minutes. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I would suggest to any New Yorker or out-of-town visitors looking for a great bottle!

Every time I go into the store, I am treated like I just interrupted a private conversation. I have never been addressed upon entering the store, have never been offered assistance, and when I ask a question, the staff generally looks at me like I am an alien. It is a super convenient location, but I refuse to support such rudeness. I'm curious why this is allowed by owners

This store is beautifully designed and has an amazing selection of wines. The champagne offerings are particularly impressive. Unfortunately, due to the attitude of the staff, I will be looking elsewhere in the future. On two separate occasions, I was subject to very patronizing treatment by an employee, who decided she wanted nothing to do with me after I answered her question on how much I was willing to spend (in my case, $30 or under). I live nearby and was initially excited at the prospect of another well curated wine store in the area. I love wine (at all price points) and frequent other neighborhood spots Frankly Wines and Chambers Street Wines, both of which have great selections (and unpretentious, friendly service). Maybe it's just one bad egg. I certainly hope so, because I'd love to revisit this place without having to deal with rolled eyes and nasty attitudes.

So, a little while after I wrote this review, I got an email from Vintry about some event or another. I unsubscribed from the list, complete with a snarky comment about not wanting to give my money to a shop with such a rude staff when asked why. Lo and behold, a few days later, I heard from the manager. He apologized profusely, asked me to describe the incident and the employee in greater detail, and assured me he would correct the issue. He even offered me a free bottle of wine to make up for the experience, which was really unexpected and really nice of him. I've been back a couple of times since then and although the staff hasn't done a total 180, they've been much nicer - you know, behaving as you would expect someone in a wine shop to behave. If you've had a bad experience with Vintry in the past and find yourself in the area, consider giving it another shot.

The shop has a nice wine selection and that is about it. The shop assistant is clueless about wine and thinks she is the queen of Shiba. Seriously, you work in a shop ... Also, if you are expecting them to deliver your wine forget about it. They promise and don't deliver it!! Therefore my recommendation would be for the shop to get rid of the girl sales assistant and improve its customer service/delivery and for you to spend your dollars somewhere else.

Incredible selection. Contrary to other reviews, I was helped right away by a friendly, knowledgeable member of the staff.

Vintry has a very impressive selection of wines, but even more impressive is the professionalism and expertise of their staff. I'm not much of a wine drinker, so when I went in to Vintry I didn't specifically know what I was looking for. But the staff were extremely attentive, asked a bunch of questions to try to understand what I wanted to buy and not only made a great selection for me but also helped me understand much more about wine in general. A+ service! I will definitely go back for future wine needs.

Stunning store. I live in BPC and have been waiting for a wine shop like this - impressive selection with truly incredible service. There is something for everyone here. If you're looking for something special, they can help (and they apparently have many more wines available through the Internet that they can deliver to you) but more importantly, they had a great selection of affordable wines that the staff was very eager to help me with as well. A refreshing wine shopping experience, I'm glad they are in the neighborhood!

Fantastic store layout, truly helpful staff, excellent selection. It's easily the best place downtown to find a nice bottle, and if they don't have it on hand, they'll order it for you. The only problem, the first time you go there, is that it's really hard to find, even if you know the area. But it's definitely worth the trip.
